Melvin had heard about the island now being littered with goodies, and having time to take a nice stroll on the beach (aside from the threat of being made a tasty monster treat), he decided to check if he could find anything. Wishing he knew about this sooner, and hoping he could slowly gain items to barter with, mainly for trainees to work under him for a few projects, he started to head out.
Not really the type to dress in shorts and sandals, he at least had the foresight to take off his sweater and leave it in his room, and walked along the beach in khakis and a t-shirt. It was actually very nice here, and sometimes he forgot that, Fear creatures aside, they were on a tropical island. It made him wish for fruity alcoholic drinks and a beach chair before he remembered he wasn't the type of person to do that.
Still, he did like relaxing, and felt he could become that type of person.
It didn't take long to spot something in the sand.

A clump of sand. He found nothing. Huffing, he decided that a distant bubbling in the water probably wasn't a good thing, and turned to head back.
He'd check again to see if a few waves brought anything worthwhile.
