Just because water conforms does not mean it is any lesser an element.

When he first met her gaze, he stared back too, momentarily forgetting his upset, but only because of what had happened to her hair. Embarrassment flushed his pale cheeks shortly after, and he looked away, because it wasn't that difficult to realize this was entirely his fault. Speaking of hair, come to think of it... He stopped short, and reaching up, lightly patted his own hair, only for his brows to shoot up to where his bangs had once been upon realizing that he had managed to give both of them a rather ill-welcomed perm. Hopefully though, it won't be quite a perm. But great. Just absolutely splendid. He can hear them just about now, he'll probably receive questions from his clan of whether or not he had finally gone delinquent... But, at the least, he had managed to sufficiently regulate the shock, and what was really important was that Amaya had not gotten hurt. His gut clenched at the thought. Especially after the incident earlier... He felt terribly enough about the trauma he made her experience. He wouldn't be sure just quite how badly the scope of his guilt will be if she actually did get hurt because of him...

But when she laughed at him, he sulked. Why was it funny...? Or, was it because of what he had just said right about now? He didn't understand what exactly amused her, even though it was nice to hear her laugh, instead of perhaps getting angry at him. There was a certain tinkle to her voice that made it almost musical, but still, considering the topic of her amusement was at his expense... It made him second guess that prejudgement and unsettled him more. He didn't like being laughed at. The Uchiha watched her warily as she headed down the hall, and soon enough, she returned with a new mop. His gaze became questioning then, confused: just what was she planning to do?

She then held up his own mop for him, and gingerly, he took the dread item, only to slowly relax upon realizing a static jolt hadn't shocked him yet. Residue static electricity was slightly less terrible than actual Raiton jolts... They stung a bit, but was nothing severe really. It was only luck that the mop hadn't become too charged. He waited patiently then for her to cut to the purpose, but, when his ears made out the offer to teach him how to properly perform mundane housework... His pale skin went tomato red.

Ah.

So he sees...

So he sees...

He had been doing it all wrong.

+5 to Amaya

Cleaning
It was a bit hard to manage with only one hand, but Akeru is quite stubbornly intent to spare the custodian the outrage of cleaning up blood...

The girl simply smiled as the sudden rushing red of Akeru’s face. He was a good man, but he had lived a…less than ordinary life that had led to a few apparent holes in his teaching. One of those teachings was how to properly clean a floor. That was alright though, Amaya was going to have to teach her brothers the fine art one day too.

The child moved to the Uchiha’s side, holding her mop low on the handle because she was short. She easily moved it in the proper motion in order to show Akeru how it was done. As Amaya worked, small spots of blood here and there came up off the ground. However, it wasn’t just the blood, it was the bubbles too. She worked methodically and made sure that her movements were deliberate enough to give meaning to the man. That is, she hoped they were.

It was interesting, watching this man shift so quickly from one emotion to the next. It seemed like he overanalyzed a lot, like he was always thinking about the worst case scenario. Then again, that did work for some people. Plus, that was probably a benefit being a shinobi. That was something that Amaya was going to have to learn eventually, but she wasn’t ready for the harsh reality quite yet. No, she was quite content in this new little world that she had created around herself.

However, it wasn’t just her. I was her family, her teacher, her classmates, and her new friend. It was all of these people who had suddenly been driven into her life, though that was mostly her own doing. While it did going against her introverted nature, the girl didn’t mind these people; even though they could be a bit high energy for the most part.

Maybe that was what happened as these high energy people grew. Perhaps they learned to be more like Akeru; strong but with plenty of emotion. That last emotion she had seen. That was embarrassment; there was no doubt about that. However, before that she had seen the Uchiha go back to sulking. What had caused that? Was it her laughter? Perhaps the origin hadn’t been clear. This was a learning experience for the girl, so she was paying close attention to the shifts and changes in the people around her to make herself more effective at communicating. She really was a terrible communicator.

Keeping her eyes down to her task, the child began talking quietly. ”Akeru-san, I’m sorry if I have embarrassed you; that was not my intention.” Her voice was sincere but happy all at the same time. ”I was simply laughing at the whole situation…plus we both look rather silly right now.” At that she paused long enough to look up at the man and smile to make sure that he knew she wasn’t making fun of him. After all, she had mentioned “we”. ”But please promise me that for now on when you need help you’ll ask. How can you expect your students to come up and ask you questions when you won’t ask them yourself?” This time she leaned on the mop and looked up at him. Her eyes were still shining, her voice still held that edge of happiness, that same innocent smile never left her lips. The only thing different now was that she looked like the disco jive queen with her ridiculously thin afro.

3... not even bothering with the numbers. This one's a fail XD

"Yuki-chan, we should probably finish up soon or else we'll end up falling behind." he told her from behind the cloth."

Shiro was hiding behind the cloak again, and Yuki nodded her agreement. "I guess we'd better. I think we'll finish up pretty quick though. Let's do this!" With that, Yuki, oblivious to Shiro's lapse of maintaining character, attempted another try to finish the cloak jutsu, but it still wasn't working for her as she would like. Grabbing the cloak in frustration, she glared at it before setting it back down again, trying to figure out what in the world she was doing wrong with the training to have failed this badly.

"Perhaps it has to do with the lack of concentration...: she murmured to herself as she gathered up the cloaks and folded them in a neat pile nest to her. Simple, mundane things could take her mind off other things and help her focus on one thing, and this repetitive behavior might spur her training a little more. Shiro looked like he was almost done, talented as he seemed to be. He was quite the guy, to accomplish everything so quickly. Deciding to hurry up and catch up to him, she took up her now-folded cloak and got ready to try it again.

"I guess we'd better. I think we'll finish up pretty quick though. Let's do this!" she said to him. He nodded from behind his cloth as he dropped it. However he felt an urge to take it slow and fool around some more. Even though he wanted to finish his training and join the war, there was some part of him that also wanted to stay and play. It was somewhat confusing to the boy. This clash of desires had an effect of procrastination as he dawdled and made very little effort toward finishing his training. He also felt like she needed help finishing and that if he finished to quickly it would be awkward to try and leave before she had finished. in this mindset he determined for himself to stay and help, even if it meant delaying his own progress. "Let me know if you need any help Yuki-chan." the boy said as the verbal confirmation of his silent mental decision. Thus he metaphorically offered his hand to her for assistance with his actual offer of aid.

The boy moved back and forth between, the edge of the track and a nearby tree, moving his shoulders in circles as he walked. Turning on his heels and moving towards the beginning of the track, the boy looked at the ground in front of him, bouncing up and down on his heels to get the blood flowing, skipping his usual stretch routine to finish the laps, as soon as possible. Reaching the last few numbers, and slowing his counting down. "...Seven...Eight...Nine...Ten..." the boy began running, a slow steady pace, or a fast jog, taking in the beautiful scenery around him.

The sweet songs of the birds, light and high-pitched, lead the pace that the boy was running, his feet falling into the pattern of the song, continuously fluctuating between different tempos, always fast paced. The boy then took in the bright, sweet smells of the flowers, an aroma that can only be signified with spring, he gave a quick glance to the pasture next to the field, the bright blues, the pastels of purple and yellow, the light pinks of the flowers in his eyes. The warm sun basted down on the track, drying the sweat off of the boy's forehead from running almost as soon as it began.

This was the perfect day to run.

The boy began to make a mental to do list in his head, turning the bend around the two-hundred meter mark. "I still have one more lesson left today. " the boy looked around the academy, at the other student. Most of them were finishing, or at least almost complete, with the lesson that he and Amaya had completed just a little while ago. He need to finish these laps before everyone finished the lesson and moved onto the next without him. "Bunshin, I believe. Then after that me and Fudou, oh wait, Fudou and I," the boy corrected himself mentally, knowing his parents expected him to use, or at least try to, perfect grammar. "Fudou and I are meeting up, him copying my notes, and then he'll tie me up and I'll learn Nawunke no Jutsu. After that I'll be caught up with the rest of today's lessons, and I can do some extra credit or something!"

The boy quickly went around the second bend, around the four-hundred meter mark or so, picking up his pace a little bit with the song of the birds.

"What could I do for extra training?" the boy asked himself, honestly not knowing what he could do. The possibilities were endless. "Maybe I could do some stretching, or practice some basic things like, punching, kicking, or blocking." The boy made it to the halfway point between the four hundred and five hundred meter mark, looking at the ground in front of him, trying to recall the training's he's seen some of the older shinobi's do in the past. "Maybe I could do that tree climby thingy!" Takami was excited now, "Or. Or. Maybe I could do that standing on water thing! I've seen kids do it on the lake in the compound before." The boy's excitement carried him to the finishing point of the lap, without even realizing he had gotten to the final bend in the track. Takami stopped suddenly, back tracking to the grassy patch by the finis of the track. The boy quickly made his way to the ground, sitting down, and grabbing his foot and stretching out his leg to keep the blood pumping in his legs.

Taka stretched his left leg out, and then his right leg, respectively, putting his hands on the soft soil behind him and placing both of his legs out in front of him. Bending at the hips, the boy reached towards his thighs, bending forward so that his back was at about a fourty-five degree angle to his legs. The boy then slide his hands down his legs, stopping on his knees for a several seconds, holding a stretch, until finally Takami's hands meet with the curve of his foot. Holding the stretch for just shy of two minutes, the boy placed his hands back behind him, pushing up to his knees, and then making his way to his feet, gently brushing off the dirt on his back, and around his legs. Pacing back and fourth at the beginning of the track, "Only two more laps to go," the boy told himself, rolling his shoulders as he moved. "You can do this, and then you can socialize," Takami tried to give himself a gentle boost to his morale, and he needed it. Finishing his pacing at the start of the track and turning on his heels to face the track, the young Hyuuga bounced up and down on his heels to warm up his ankles before he began, deciding to take the second to last lap slowly. He planned to sprint the last six-hundred meters.

But he was getting really tired. He did want to quit. Who would know if he didn't finish all the laps?

The boy slapped himself for thinking such preposterous thoughts, knowing that he couldn't quit now, when he was so close that he could taste the extra credit on his tounge.

".........five...six.............seven...eight...nine...................ten," the counting between's the boy's numbers were uneven, with heavy breathing, the boy starting his ninth lap as he counted to ten, similar to the last lap, going with the pace of the bird's song, but only at a half pace of the bird's chirps. Two-hundred meters. The boy did the mental math in his head, a smirk crossing his lips. "Only a thousand more meters until I'm done!" the boy told himself, slowing his pace a little bit to conserve what little energy he had left.

                                Three-Hundred Meters.

                                Four-Hundred Meters.

                                Five-Hundred Meters.

The familiar landmark passed effortlessly by Takami, as he enter the last homestretch of the track, speeding up to the tempo of the bird's song and finishing the last leg of the lap in a little over sixteen seconds. The boy, stopped abruptly, his breathing heavier than after any of the laps. He was getting tired. Though the laps seemed to go by him pretty easily, they were taking a toll on Takami's body, he could feel his lungs tightening with each breath. Quickly, the boy made his way over to a water fountain on the side of the academy, taking a small sip before spitting it out. Warm. The boy swallowed his pride, taking a long drink of the water, walking back over to the track to calm down.

The boy routinely went through his stretches, making his way to the track, bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet to wake up his ankles. His excitement was almost too much. He was almost about to start running with doing his routine count off! "one two three four five six seven eight nine ten," the boy quickly counted off, running towards the finish line for the final time. At least for now. The boy's feet were so fast that even he got lost during the 'one, two' pattern he repeated to himself, looking up to see the three-hundred meter mark, in the same time that it usually took him to reach the one-hundred meter mark. The boy sped up. Quickly, the boy came along the homestretch for the final time for the day, quickly making it past the unofficial finish line.

                                He was done.

The boy plopped down onto the ground, forcefully, making his way to his back and heaving loudly, trying to get oxygen as fast as possible, putting his fingers to his neck to check his pulse. It was way to fast. The boy lay on the ground for several minutes, his breathing slowly declining the longer he lay, pushing his self to a sitting position, looking around at the other students. Funny pairing it way: Sakura and that boy who's really ahead, Sheno or Shiro, something like that, then there was Yae and Fudou, both of them had pretty....dynamic.... personalities, to say the least, Takami honest surprised that one of them hadn't knocked the other out already. Takami then checked for the Nara and Amaya, noting both of them gone, along with the Inuzuka. Maybe all of them were working together on the next lesson? Takami hoped not. That mean's he'd have fallen behind again. The boy then noticed a new girl, her presence seeming.... familiar, though the boy was was certain he'd never meet her before. Was she a Hyuuga? A Senju? No, she couldn't be, her aura not fiting either of the groups.

                                Her aura was familiar though.

The boy placed his hands behind his back, pushing himself to his feet, deciding to introduce himself to the new girl, maybe giving him a hint to her heritage, though it was on the tip of his tongue. Getting closer, the boy heard the girl speak, "I am Rinkou Uchiha." her five words fulfilling the boys question and leaving him with a slight disappointment in himself. She was an Uchiha. It was so obvious. He should've guessed that. The boy made his way to her, gently tapping her on the shoulder. "Hello, Rinkou-kun, I'm Hyuuga Takami! The other students probably can't hear you, their pretty self absorbed in the lesson," the boy trailed off his though toward the end, "Anyways," the boy deciding to take tours into his own hands, "Do you need me to show you around the place?"

Yae could more or less vanish on command now. The other day she had dismissed the kakuremino no jutsu as a novelty; something you learned at the academy and then never used again. Had she been hasty in this assumption? Carrying around a multitude of cloaks would be annoying though. Not to mention each cloak had limited functionality. At any rate the technique could prove incredibly useful (life-saving, even), if only in an incredibly specific set of circumstances.

Perhaps with some innovative application she could expand the usefulness of the cloak. All this time she had been standing still while hiding. Would it be possible to move about with the cloak, and still remain invisible. Behind the cloth Yae started to sidestep ever so slowly. The cloak swayed with the motion, but with the help of her chakra the kunoichi had managed to remain hidden.

The white plaster cloak was getting old now. Yae felt like she could run along the wall with it and stay hidden. Time for something a little more challenging. The girl browsed through her collection of cloaks. Most of them weren't as immediately identifiable as one might imagine. She lingered on a gray piece of cloth. It changed shades in an ever-so-subtle manner in any direction from the center. Was it a rock? Being a rock seemed to Yae like it was more of a taijitsu-expert sort of thing. Body of a rock, and a mind to match.

She dismissed the rock, her interest shifting instead to a cloak made up of an array of different greens. The many shades formed splotches that curled around one another, like a sort of general-purpose military camouflage. It was shrubbery, a bush, Yae decided. Choosing the nearest bush (a round fellow just a little shorter than her), she prepared to disappear.

The best way to use this cloak would probably be to hide in the bush itself, and simply drape the fabric over myself...

Crouched low in a bush, her cloak draped overhead, Yae felt truly invisible. With a childish grin of amusement she shifted, turning to look out over the academy grounds. What she had expected to see was a bunch of dimwits holding their cloaks the wrong way; instead she saw nothing. Apparently everyone was either extremely well-hidden, or done with the kakuremino. Fudou seemed to be having particular trouble with the jutsu, but at this point it was every shinobi for themselves (at least in Yae's mind). She stepped out of the bush, but left her cloak where it was. At close range the cloak was semi-apparent, but at a distance it would certainly blend in even without chakra manipulation.

"Let me know if you need any help Yuki-chan." She heard. Smiling, she nodded and gave a short thank you to her parter.

Surprising. The one who first seemed so cold, had a warmth hidden within... If only he could hold on to that spark of light.

Sakura shook her head. Where had that come from? Of course he would, he was only human after all.

Thinking about it, she replayed the voice in her head. His voice seemed mischivous, as if he wanted to pull more pranks, which gave Sakura a very good idea as to what to do a little later after they were done with their jutsu. But to do that, she'd have to hurry up and finish. Sighing, she picked up the cloak and kicked the dirt a little, pouting. This jutsu was taking for-ever. The spurt of concentration seemed to work as she blended into the shrubbery behind her. She wondered if it would work while moving to another place while holding the jutsu. It almost broke her hold on the cloak because the strands tended to get snagged on the low branches of the bush, but holding still, she slowly tugged them away without making a big commotion. Moving while using the jutsu was alright, but this just seemed a little bad for normal practice. Perhaps somewhere smooth, like the wall or fence, would be better.

Sakura wished there were more prints, so it could be used in more places. It was frustrating to think that after all this practice, they would never really use this jutsu with these cloaks, since it would only be luggage to carry. But more prints would mean lesser room for other supplies, so it was a real problem. Shrugging, she decided to ask their sensei next time. Well, their new sensei, since there should be someone new coming in to replace Ko sensei from his mission. She wondered who it would be... She really wished it wasn't the Senju that had come in earlier. She was just... too frighting.

Shivering, she got back to her jutsu and fingered the different cloaks for the jutsu. The fence print would do for now, she decided.

Quote:
Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique)
Description: This Jutsu is where one uses a cloak or a piece of cloth to make oneself blend in with the background, interpreting oneself invisible. While a student should use a cloak/cloth that fits with their environment, chakra can be used to enhance the effect but it can not make up for using the wrong camouflage. In this exercise the students will demonstrate their ability to blend in to various surroundings using their cloaks/cloths.

She felt the tap, and looked behind her to find a boy introducing himself, he was a Hyuuga, which she liked, a fellow future doujutsu user. He explained why her words were lost, which was understandable, she was late, for good reasons and bad. He offered to guide her also, which pleased her, which was obvious with the smile that came across her face.
"Yes, I would like to get to know the Academy, please show me around." She bowed her head, it was a pretty normal thing for her to do, due to bowing to superiors in the Uchiha clan a lot.

The young Hyuuga smiled in response to the girl, bowing in return to show his respect. "Finally, Someone else who's from a clan, I won't be the only one who awkwardly bows now!" The boy looked around the courtyard, seeing only four other shinobis, he'd introduce them first, and then move to the people inside the building, showing her around the building itself.

Gesturing to Yae and Fudou, the boy introduced the two to the girl, "The boy is Fudou, He's pretty cool if you get on his good side, that," he pointed to the girl, "The black-haired girl, She's Yae, and she can be a bit.... crazy... sometimes, and she's not afraid to speak her mind!" the boy gave a little laugh.

Shironaegi and Sakurayuki were next, the boy pointed to each of them respectively, giving his insight on them "That's Shiro, He's the head student. He, along with Yae and Fudou, was suppose to graduate last semester, but something happened or something and they're here now." He looked for any reaction from the girl. "The girl with the pink hair, That's Sakurayuki, I call her Yuki, but she responds to both Sakura and Yuki."

He took a step towards the academy, leading off towards the side entrance. "We still have a few more students left for you to meet, inside, and two of the team instructors! A jounin. He's an Uchiha, like you, and a...." Takami paused. What was Harusame-sama, surely she was too strong to be a jounin, but obviously she wasn't Hokage, "Then there's an, uh, strong" that was a decent choice of words to describe her, "A strong lady. Don't make her mad, she can be a bit crazy!" Takami whispered the last part.

The boy reached the back door, opening it for the girl, showing a staircase, leading to the dojo, in front of them. All this talking was calming, and the boy felt his breath steadying and leaning back towards a normal pattern. Maybe he would run a couple laps later? It didn't matter now, he was helping the Uchiha now, and he would get to what he was going to do later, when he got there. "After you," A warm smile crossed the boy's pale cheeks, his body dropping into a slight bow towards his fellow doujutsu user.

[Sorry for the shortness of my post, I wanted to get something up for your before I head off to school.
And, I'm counting this as a resting post >:c

Rinkou followed Takami, after seeing him smile back, that was pleasing to her. She was first introduced to the students that were in the general area, which did seem most appropriate.
Fudou and Yae, they are both similar to me, but that doesn't matter. She listened the the boy laugh, and realized that he had no fear of this girl. Shiro was held back, as well at those other two? Interesting. She looked at the pink haired girl, and just tilted her head. Pink.
She now followed him around where ever he went, she really didn't want to get lost now. An Uchiha instructor? Who? and a strong lady that gets mad? Are all women just naturally crazy? She was a girl, and she knew she would one day be a woman, so from that moment, she knew she would just be a total psycho.
Up some stairs, and the boy opened the door for her, which she found really nice, to which she bowed back in thanks. She smiled as she walked on into the dojo.

The boy followed into the room behind the girl, returning the bow she gave him when they were face to face again. He gestured to the area around him, unsure of what to say. It was a dojo for crying out loud! What importance is there in a dojo: "Oh look, there's wooden flooring, oh look some pads and a couple dummies! Great!" the boy smirked, some people might thing his sarcastic attitude was stupid, but he amused himself, he looked back at Rinkou, realizing he drifted off there for a couple seconds.

"Oh, uh, sorry! Uhm, yeah. This is the dojo, there's some dummies over there, and, uh, some matting where you can spar a bit. Later, if you want, we can have a little friendly match." Takami grinned at her to let her know that he was kidding, obviously. He was a Hyuuga! He clearly had a natural advantage over the other kids since they were still all early in their training.

He walked across the room, towards a small paper divider, looking around it as he walked past to see nothing behind, questioning why it was even there. Takami quickly found himself at a door, opening it for the girl, and walking it through it behind her, ending in a hallway with another door on the opposite side, and an open spiral staircase off to the left of where they were standing, taking them from the third floor, to the second, and finally to the first. He would take her downstairs to show her around later. The boy quickly made his way over to the door across from where they were, plenty of bookcases on the wall opposite of them, clearly labeling the room they were entering as a library.

"After you," Kami gave a slight bow, following after the Uchiha as she made her way through the door, moving to the corner closest to himself, deciding to show the girl around the library before they moved on downstairs.

"In the second we're in now," the boy gestured the corner they were in with his arms, "There are some scrolls on first aid, mostly stuff on natural herbs and poisons, It's pretty interesting if you're at all interested in Eseijutsu. I've done a bit of reading, for extra credit of course, and I liked it!" the Hyuuga moved along the back of the wall, stopping at a couple of bookcases in the middle-ish area of the back wall, gesturing to a couple book cases directly in front of the two, "These are a couple books on the history, mostly focused on our village, Konohagakure's, history, but I think there's a scroll or two on Amegakure and one on Sunagakure as well."

The boy moved to the opposite side of the library and gesturing to all the bookcases except one on the wall, "These are the scrolls on the elements and techniques, including ninjutsu, genjutsu, fuuinjutsu and eseijutsu. They have all the scrolls on techniques up to a 'C-rank' but you have to get a note from the instructor to check any of the out." The boy pointed to the racks of scrolls, telling her the elements: Raiton, Doton, Katon, Fuuton, Hyouton, Ice Release, and Suiton respectively, as well as non-elemental Ninjutsu.

The boy gestured to a lone bookcase over in the corner of this side wall, describing it as the clan directory of Konohagakure, "Well, only a part of it. This is basically just a miniature version of Konoha's actual library for use! It's really great. Now, do you have any questions, or can we move on?"
