Daren made himself a generous helping of both types of ice cream before taking them back to the fridge. he came back with the tea kettle and a variety of hot drink mixes as well as tea bags. another trip brought mugs that he turned over next to the pot of hot water. "if you want any," he said, gesturing as he mixed some hot cocoa for himself. something about ice cream and hot cocoa-you just couldn't beat that in his books.

Daren settled down, surprised at the movie that the two women had picked. even more-so that Amanda was letting him sit next to Tim. "i actually never read the comics either, but i enjoyed the movie. all you need to know is that Thor and Liki are adoptive brothers that had a falling out. literally, Loki fell out of the home of the gods, Asgard. also Captain America found in WWII but he was frozen in ice when saving the world from Red Skeleton who had a cube of power from Asgard. that's the jist of it, Tim."

Daren smiled, "i have them in blu-ray. we'll get you caught up, don't worry. you're a smart man, Tim, you'll be able to keep up easily. they explain, but Loki tried to destroy an entire planet and banish Thor on Earth." he patted Tim's shoulder, "i'm sure you will like it, though might i request we put on subtitles? there are a lot of one liners that are easy to miss."

Daren had enjoyed watching Tim more than he'd watched the movie. "here, i'll start dinner. that is if you two would like to join us of course. you can watch the special features with Tim and still be able to leave on time for your dance lessons." he'd already seen the special features and would be able to follow along from sound alone. Daren gathered up the dishes and head to the kitchen, deciding on what kind of dinner to make. he settled on baked spaghetti, a good somewhat quick meal that was easy to make. he started cooking, enjoying listening to the others in his living room. it was nice to have people over he decided. maybe being a hermit wasn't such a good plan after all. his doorbell rang twice in a row and Daren smiled to himself, knowing who it was from the signal alone. "Excuse me, we've tiny visitors." he head to the door and opened it to find Taiga and Tetsu standing at his door.

"Mom said we were driving her nuts and it was ok to come over!" Taiga announced, heading inside and looking at the people on the couch. "hey! you never have girls over, did you and Timothy go pick up chicks?" he grinned widely, "good work, they're hot!"

Tetsu stepped inside and hide behind a blushing Daren. "Taiga! you don't even know what that means!"

Taiga frowned, "I used it right, didn't i? i hear it on television all the time!" he walked over to sit on the ground next to Tim, but he was facing the women on the couch instead of the tv, "hi! I'm Taiga, nice to meet you! that's my brother Tetsu, but he's shy. who are you?"

Taiga's smile died a little and he looked at Daren before back to the women, "seriously? you're his mom? but-you don't look like moms! you look young..."

"Anne looks young," Tetsu said softly, having moved to Tim and sitting by him since the man smiled at him. he smiled back and looked at the women, hiding behind his basketball, "hello Miss Rachel, Miss Amanda."

Daren shook his head a little, "You boys be good. i'm finishing up dinner." he head back to the kitchen, putting on the final touches to their food before it went into the oven.

Taiga glanced at the tv and smiled, "oh, the Avengers! Dad has all of the comics, but he won't let me read them. they're in plastic, but he bought me the new releases. they's cool! i like Thor, but I feel bad for Loki too."

Testu nodded, looking down, "it's hard being different from everyone. he's just trying to find his place."

Taiga looked at Amanda, "you would look good in one, miss Amanda. though i think those frilly dresses would look best on you. Miss Rachel would look good in the suit too."

Tetsu looked at the two women and nodded his agreement. at this point he was sitting right next to Tim, one hand holding onto the other's sleeve. "Daren saved us. now we live with mom and dad, Daren brought is to them."

Daren walked into the living room and smiled, "be nice taiga. dinner's in the oven, it will be done in 15 minutes. is that ok with you time-wise?" he sat down on the edge of the couch and almost instantly had a Tetsu in his lap, curling up against him. the boy yawned, his eyes closing, obviously exhausted. it only took a few seconds for him to fall asleep which made Daren frown. "has he been having a hard time sleeping again."

Taiga frowned and nodded, "he's been having bad dreams again. even sleeping with me doesn't help. he's been asking come over and see you, but Mom didn't want us to bother you and Tim."

Daren nodded, "i'll call her and see what we can do." he pulled a blanket out from behind the couch and wrapped it around Tetsu, holding the boy close with his one arm, adjusting to make them both comfortable.

Daren looked at the women a little confused, "you don't have to go. Tetsu's pretty mobile once he's asleep. at least he is when i'm holding him. please stay for dinner, it's ok, really." he moved Tetsu to his shoulder, holding the boy at such and angle that he could hold him and still be able to move about and do what he needed to. "really. it's fine."

Taiga frowned, "why are you leaving? it is because we came? we're sorry. i can go home if you want." he didn't want to be away from Tetsu, not even for a second, but he would if it meant the ladies would stay.

Taiga smiled, "Daren's ok. when we were released from the hospital, Testu wouldn't let him go. he was like that for four days and Daren didn't complain once!" he was bragging for his friend, but that was just Taiga's way of showing how much Daren meant to him.

Daren shrugged, "he was scared, i didn't mind. you weren't much better, Taiga. i didn't have to hold you, but you were always holding onto my pant leg too."

Taiga blushed a little, but didn't deny it, "he's big but he's only scary so he can scare away the bad guys." he informed Rachel, sliding over so he could sit next to her. "Do you like basketball?"

Daren smiled to himself, knowing that question would be coming eventually. he stood up, balancing Testu on a shoulder and walked in to see in he could help Amanda, "Anything i can do for you?"
