Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye...
Angela was startled when she heard a voice behind her, whirling around to see...Tarik. Thank goodness. She sighed, pushing her hair out of her face. "Given my apparently luck with 'mates,' a dummy is probably not too bad a choice," Angela said acerbically. She felt instant remorse for snapping at him and sighed again, trying to collect herself. "I'm sorry. That was uncalled for. I'm just tired and frustrated but I shouldn't have snapped at you. It isn't your fault." She gave him a tired smile. "And...there are some battles I have to fight that I can't rely on you for, Tarik, even if I wanted to."
Angela went to retrieve the bag she had brought with her, sitting down next to it so she could re-wrap the bandages on her hands. Really, there was no one she could rely on to fight this battle. Maybe Misaki since she seemed adept. And Kasie could help uncovering information, but she didn't seem like much of a fighter. And outside that small group, Angela wasn't even sure who she could actually trust. If Abel could be a part of this stupid group working against them, anyone could be--and that thought frightened her.
Though she had to admit that if she could trust Tarik, it would be...she paused. Actually. She could trust him, couldn't she? Tarik couldn't possibly be involved with this group. First of all, he had no motivation to be since he was only at the school in the first place, because she was. And he hadn't really been there long enough to get to know anyone. And, really, given his personality... She knew exactly where he was from and who he knew, and what he was doing there. He'd never made any effort to conceal any of it.
Angela glanced up at him. "Actually, maybe you can help with this, Tarik. If you really want to. There aren't a lot of people here I can trust or rely on but...I can trust you, can't I?"
Tarik was the sort of person who was easy to read--mostly because she doubted it really ever even occurred to him to try to hide things. So she suspected that if he was trying to deceive her in anyway, she'd know it. She didn't think he was though. And if not, maybe she could get him to scope out the other teachers. Having a few students working against this group was one thing but if they could get some teachers working with them, they would definitely be able to stop them.Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________Well someone was in a bad mood. Tarik didn't make an effort to take it to heart. What exactly did he take to heart? Oh right. Just the Pharaoh's words. That's it. "Battles? Surely it is not too much that the security guards cannot handle. I believe there are two of us. I have yet to meet the other but I would hope that he is a dependable guy."
He followed Angela to her bag as she went to go... wrap her hands?! "What happened to your hands? What is the need of bandages?" Tarik asked with a frown. "You must take better care of yourself. I have heard that women are particularly merciless with appearance values."
"Help...? Of course I will help. It is my duty after all. I do not see why you cannot trust me. A man is loyal to his job, no matter the triviality of it." Tarik said. Although he was quite a slacker with being a security guard, but he intended to be a good one. _________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye... "Don't worry about my hands," Angela said. "I'm not exactly some delicate flower that needs her hands all smooth and pretty. And they'll heal." She glanced down at one as she pulled the bandages off, and winced. "Eventually..."
She sighed, patting the ground beside her. She needed to think of a way to explain this where he wouldn't run off an tell the wrong person, and where he would actually understand what was going on. And given how he seemed to have a problem taking her seriously, she also needed to not sound overly melodramatic. She figured if she was overly dramatic, he'd just blow her off.
Maybe if she just...catered to his rather inflated ego and...ugh...seemed helpless or something.
"Can you sit with me for a while? The situation is kind of difficult to explain. I haven't told many people about it because I'm not sure who all I can trust--even among the other students and teachers." She chewed her lip for a moment. "There are lot of really dangerous things going on at this school. And have been for a while but I sort of recently learned there's a single group of people behind them all...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________"Well... even if you're not a delicate flower-- Wait. You are a delicate flower. Well, a flower of some kind or how is it that other people refer to this? A strong willed one perhaps. Like a weed! Yes--ah--NO. Not a weed. You are definitely not a weed, Angela. Er... like..." Tarik frowned. "A desert flower perhaps. I know little of flowers to be honest." Admitting such small knowledge of any subject no matter how trivial was such a pain. Tarik hated it and he tended to do that a lot with Angela.
"Ah yes. Sitting." Tarik said and he plopped himself down beside Angela. He wondered what kind of difficult situation this was. Perhaps it was a womanly crisis. Oh no... She wasn't pregnant, was she!? That's impossible! From just talking with Tarik!? No. He must be rational here. Perhaps she had an argument with a friend. He will tell her to just punch this friend in the face and move on. Really. She already had him.
Oh wait. She did say... a single group of people? What did she mean by that? Tarik was getting confused. What involved women and a group of people? "Are you planning a party perhaps?" Tarik asked with a frown. _________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

"Tarik!" Angela said, holding up her hands. "Focus. First of all, I'm not delicate. Nor am I offended by the idea of not being delicate so don't trouble yourself over trying to find an appropriate flower to compare me to." She paused, thinking this over. "Incidentally, I rather like snow drops. And they're rather stubborn considering they come up in early spring when there is still sno--augh! No. We are not discussing flowers!"
Ugh. His ADD or whatever it was, was definitely contagious. Angela took a breath and refocused her thoughts.
"I am not planning a party, Tarik," she said. "Can you just listen? For five minutes? There is a group of people trying to destroy this school. Do you know how important this school is, Tarik? There is so much prejudice going around between all the different races and species of people out there. And this school's entire purpose is to find a way to break down that prejudice and help people coexist peacefully."
"And there are people who are trying to destroy that--people here at the school, teachers. And I--we have to stop them."Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________Leave it to a woman to know about flowers. She seemed to almost go on a tangent about them when she suddenly stopped and said they weren't discussing flowers. "We just were--" Tarik started but she moved on already.
So she wasn't planning a party. "Okay. I'll... listen." Tarik said. Although it would be a bit difficult. He hoped it wouldn't be too long. He's been getting better at not toning out the voice of women since Angela seems to think she has important things to say. Well, some times she shows signs of intelligence. Angela really was a very unique woman!
Either that or the culture here values intelligence even in women. It was hard to imagine women intelligent. He thought of the Pharaoh's mother. She was the stupidest woman on the planet. Oh wait. Listening. Yes. He focused his attention to Angela intensely.
"I... I don't quite understand the importance of the school and the importance of getting rid of prejudice. I've lived with it all my life really and it's hard to imagine a world without it." Tarik said to Angela. She lived in a happy world, didn't she? "But my duty is to protect this school and I will protect it. I don't need any other reason to not take action if there are people aiming to destroy it."
"Just tell me who these people are and I'll have them taken care of." Tarik said. He wasn't sure if he should believe her though. He hesitated. "Ah... but before I move to attack. Where exactly did you learn of this?" It's not that he didn't trust Angela. It's more like, he felt a bit worried of running into something without the proper proof. _________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

: Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye...
"And are you content to continue living like that?" Angela asked, a little incredulous at how casually he spoke about prejudice. It wasn't surprising considering he came from a culture with rampant slavery. But it was still frustrating. "Or do you actually think prejudice is a good thing? Just because it's what you're used to, that doesn't mean it's the right way to live. When I was a child, I was locked up and treated like an object because of someone who couldn't accept that even as a Fae, I was still a person. Perhaps you think that sort of thing is perfectly fine."
"But this school is trying to...to stop that kind of discrimination. And i happen to believe that is an important mission." She sighed, doubting he would care or understand.
"Regardless, we can't just attack. I don't know who all is involved but I don't think you or I--or even the two of us and the few others who know about this--can take them on alone. There are two staff members--teachers--involved in this group. And they've both confirmed the group does exist."
"One of them is my sister--which, incidentally, if you see a teacher who looks rather a lot like my but sort of, um, sluttier, stay away from her. Just trust me on this."Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________Tarik shrugged. "It's not even race that causes discrimination. No matter what, people can think what they want and to change minds seems impossible. I don't believe it can happen, but I will gladly work for it." Tarik said. "But no matter what, there will always be discrimination as long as there are differences because people always need a scapegoat or someone to blame no matter what the race is."
And Tarik himself could not help but discriminate. Witches. He could never forgive them. To have the power to curse is the work of evil. Tarik was certain of it. He did not want to accept such a creature and Rosentale's policy requires it. There were even some of the horrible creatures running amok in the school.
"I see. So you don't know the entire group. Then I suppose this requires investigation." Tarik huffed. He frowned. "I know little about this. I only know how to deal with war, but internal disputes are left to the ones who do not fight but think all the time."
"I think the head mistress should be informed at least. If we can't trust the staff or students, we'll have to have her keep silent. I worry about her judge of character since she was the one who hired everyone." _________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye...
Angela listened to Tarik, her frustration growing with every word he spoke. Though she had to admit that, for the first time since she'd known him, he actually demonstrated signs of intelligence, what he was saying frustrated her. He was just so lukewarm about the whole thing. It was futile to try to stop discrimination but he would help since it was his duty? Well, gee. How nice of him.
It wasn't that what he said was really wrong. It was just how he seemed to be able to muster so little passion or resolve to help. He would just do it because it was his job. Angela grabbed her bag and stood, feeling...disappointed. "Don't bother," she told him. "Perhaps you can easily accept that there will always be discrimination. You've never been hated. You've never had anyone treat you like an object because you're a little different so what does it matter to you? You've been loved. But some us weren't so lucky so it means bit more to us."
"You're right. Differences don't breed discrimination. Stupidity does. Stupidity, ignorance and apathy so just keep doing your job. And I will deal with this on my own. I don't need you."
She slung her bag over her shoulder, starting away, limping a little. Ah...maybe she'd over done it with the training a little. She had the feeling she was walking a bit like an old lady.Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________Tarik blinked. A bit confused with the words that Angela were using to him. He might have missed something. Yes, he definitely missed something. Maybe... maybe Tarik should work harder to protect her happy world?
No... not really. Tarik wasn't up for it. The impossible was impossible.
Er... and maybe he should try investigating a little of what Angela said. She didn't quite tell him what she needed help with. _________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye... Angela waited until she was well away from Tarik before she let her shoulders droop. She rubbed at her face tiredly. She was not going to rely on anyone else for this again. For anything.
She'd been trying to be so damn careful about using small words and making sure Tarik understood the situation that she'd not even gotten the chance to explain what she wanted him to do. But it didn't matter anyway. She didn't want someone who flat out didn't care. If all he had driving him was duty, he wasn't likely to do a good job anyway. Just...how could someone not see a problem with discrimination?
How could he just casually accept this was how it would always be? That was just--Angela refused to accept it! It didn't matter if it was unrealistic to expect the world to change. It didn't mean they could try to change it anyway.
She would just investigate this and uncover the truth herself. She would use the journalism club and if no one else was reliable enough to show up, she would do it on her own. She didn't need anyone else and she was a fool for trying to rely on anyone but herself.Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress... [exit]

Misaki Shinonome ______________________________ Misaki found herself at the training grounds. Angela was nowhere to be seen and there was no one here. Darn it. Well... the training grounds was really her favorite place. It was a good place to vent stress. It was a shame she didn't have her swords on her. They were in her dorm. Maybe she'll go gt her sword and train for a bit.
Actually, maybe she should keep going to find Angela. Misaki began to pace on the training grounds. She was a bit unsure of what to do at the moment. Well... whatever. She'll just stick around here for a bit. Maybe work on her archery for a few minutes and then she will go look for Angela. She was sure Angela should be okay.

Young Master Oz Vessalius Lisandra Addison Elphemera Madec Lisandra follows behind Misaki in a foul mood. She's still thinking on her encounter with the arrogant old whatever he is, and thinking of the things that she could have said that would have really got to him! If she thought to say them at the time. But she didn't. She scowls, what is she doing following this prefect girl again? She said she needed to find her friend, but when lisandra looks around she sees what looks like an empty training field much like the one her brothers practice on back home. She would always sneak out at night and practice the sword when her parents were asleep. The art of combat fascinates her, but it isn't seen as very princessly of her to practice swordplay. She looks to misaki and smiles politely. "Your aquaintance is the sort of person to frequent a field such as this one? That is to mrgreen say, they come here often? Would this happen to be a field the kind of which is used in combat trainings? Is your aquaintance, perchance, a knight in training?" She folds her hands in front of her. She just wants to be helpful but she cant help but be really curious about misaki's friend, as well as using her questions to take her mind off that arrogant noble man. (Its okay. Misaki Shinonome ______________________________ Misaki stopped pacing when she realized the princessy girl followed her. Oh. Definitely not going to train right now. Misaki didn't want to look like a brute. Urg... maybe people already knew she was a brute with all the kicking and yelling and violence she exhibited all over the place. Word of mouth was powerful and very easy to go around.
"Uh... Angela isn't a knight or anything like that. I just came to peek here just in case. I actually don't know if she ever has been here but it was a worth a shot looking. I actually frequent this place a lot though and some other guys, but I really don't pay attention that much." Ack. Well there was Veith. A short little mage guy. Misaki sort of liked him. Not in the romantic way, but as a person. He was quiet and not annoying or whiny and he sparred with her and didn't say anything about Misaki being a brute.
"Well, if you don't like it here, we can move somewhere else." Misaki said with a shrug. ______________________________

"You know, I'm not much of a fighter, but..." Reilynn had been stumbling blindly, trying to get used to the light. It was still bright outside and she had no idea where she was going. She staggered into the training grounds since she had no idea where she was going. Her eyes were starting to get used to the light a little and she saw a familiar tall girl standing with a funny girl in a gown.
Reilynn blinked. It was...!
"Misaki!" Reilynn cried out as she ran over to Misaki, stumbling a little as she went. "What are you doing out here? Are you training?" Reilynn glanced at the girl in the gown. "You're training in that? You're kind of funny!"
"So what are you guys training with? Swords? Magic? Something?" Reilynn asked. "...I'm a pretty darn good treasure hunter!"
