The young girls chakra seemed to be distancing itself from him letting him know she was exiting the office which was a relief, with an exasperated sigh he felt much better. Right as the Mizukage prodded more into his past life-- something in which he totally expected to happen -- a new chakra source entered the room behind him however it seemed to mesh into that of the Mizukage's chakra as well confusing Hinode greatly. He connected the source to a large tiger which had just entered the room, perhaps a summon or a tamed animal of the Mizukage but the chakra increase was still unexplained to him. He felt light headed and his mind fogged by the surge of chakra throughout the room, nearly wobbling off of his feet but luckily he adjusted after a few moments and found himself able to tolerate the significant power he was with. Now this seemed more like a Mizukage's level of chakra and as confusing as the scene was it also explained a lot to him just as it raised questions. Clearly by some jutsu the Mizukage's chakra was halved with this beast as if it were a second part of his own being, which maybe it was if such jutsu's existed, he wasn't going to get a headache over it now though.

When the question was asked to him, bringing up his past within Otogakure and why he had found himself now in the possession of Kirigakure instead of his home land it was expected. He should have known it was coming but for a moment that frizzy softness about him hardened, only a split second with no indication of his unrest besides a short spike in his chakra. The smile was still on his face, it looked perfectly genuine but all liars couldn't be foolproof, even if he didn't know he was lying or what about he could feel the pang of emptiness inside of him thinking back to his old home. "Bandits drove me out of my village.. I can't remember what happened to everyone else... I just hope they're all okay" he explained, this much seemed to be truthful and his chakra gave off no more indications of dismay or sorrow as it had done. That was all Hinode could say of his past, it was all he remembered really thanks to a blank in his memories, perhaps he knocked his head when he had tried to escape the raids. He was found by a family not very far from the village all cut up and half dead, it wouldn't be all too surprising if he had received some sort of memory loss from blunt trauma. He could still feel the ache in his wounds occasionally, mainly the deep lining scars on his left leg and face, the medical-nin did what they could for him but some things were tough to fully heal.

The way the Mizukage spoke was sort of unnerving, to think that this village was filled with female shinobi didn't bode well with the man, not that he didn't think they were capable, of course not that. He had an irrational fear of the opposite sex for a variety of reasons and has never been able to shake it, a lot of girls thought he was just incredibly shy but it stemmed even further than that, for he was genuinely frightened of them. He gulped loudly and nodded at the Mizukage's attempt at a joke, it would have been funny to anyone normally but to someone like Hinode he took it more as an omen for himself, he wouldn't be able to work with them very efficiently if at all, it was a hindrance. Luckily his attention was pulled from such thoughts as the Mizukage protruded something in an outstretched hand-- a Kirigakure forehead protect, however it wasn't exactly standard issue. Something about it was off, and it wasn't just because of its strange tint of gold and black material either, he could sense it-- just barely mind you --that this headband had some sort of uniqueness to it, a power he couldn't quite grasp. The woman before him got no such headband from what he had seen so why then did he get one? was this some sort of trick, was he suspected as an enemy spy for the now deceased land of Otogakure, such an accusation would make him feel lower than dirt and he dare not ask if it were true. Either way it didn't matter, as a show of good faith he would have to accept the gift being offered to him by the Mizukage, perhaps it was indeed a sincere gesture but then, why him? there was nothing special about him at all. At least most shinobi had special clans of bloodlines to speak of but Hinode was a nobody, with no special power within him he wasn't even sure he was as good as a normal shinobi, it didn't make sense to him.

Warily the young golden locked male reached outward, just as his fingers were to touch the fabric he froze in place at the words the man spoke to him, it was unbelievable to hear such a thing. He was to be in the Mizukage's own squad, an outsider in the ranks with the leader of a nation, this was completely unheard of, but he forced himself to trust his new Kage's judgement. Nodding slowly he let his hand close around the headband as he pulled it back close to his heart, he gave a nervous smile to his new Kage, and new Sensei still unsure of what his intentions were. Perhaps he was just keeping a close eye on him because he was the outsider, making sure he didn't stir up any trouble and wasn't a spy for the outside. "Thank you Mizukage-sensei I'm truly honored you think so highly of me" he explained, becoming all profession once again as he bowed lowly before taking his new forehead protector in both hands and tying it right where it belonged, on his forehead. The golden tinge looked as if it was made for him shining brightly with his hair and distant blue bulbs he had for eyes, his smile although nervous was also completely sincere and full of excitement for what was to come.
