A UHV member...Tsu's gaze hardened a fraction but he didn't comment on it "I see. Well...I suppose the dead do not have any way to object." Koko tapped his shoulder, holding onto his collar "What about her?" he reached out and touched the back of the girl's hand lightly with a single thin finger "Was she a victim...or a villain?"

"She was a victim. After a mission went awry, a caravan ended up caught in the cross fire. The enemy used the people there as human shields when they couldn't get away. It was a devastating day for us...." He drew still and quiet for a moment as he remembered the incident all over again. "This girl, along with a few others was killed and beyond recognition. Having everyone die was terrible and we had no way to contact their families. So, instead of just burring them along the road, I took them with me and fixed them up. I had hoped that once I did that their family would come forward, but they never did. So, I just keep them here with me." He knew this was probably a lot for Tsu to handle but he wasn't one to sugar coat things.

Koko sniffed at Tsu's face, her whiskers and fur tickling his cheek, his fingers going up to rub her chin and the bridge of her nose. Tsu listened quietly as Nara-san explained the girl's history, feeling...not quite pity for her. More a loss. A loss for the life the girl could have had. He took a breath, held it, then released the breath before he spoke "Sometimes...the best a life can do for us is end. So we can learn to save those who are left." he pulled his hand back from hers and held it behind his back, fist clenched. He was careful to keep his mind distracted from the actual brutality of the deaths in front of him. To get trapped in the lives and memories of the dead was to stop living while alive "I'm ready." he said firmly, giving Nara-san a brief, confident expression.

Chakra no Mesu [ Chakra Scalpel ]
Rank: B
Official Description: A Ninjutsu technique used, primarily, for field surgery. The ninja concentrates a powerful aura of chakra around their hand, creating a blade capable of tearing through muscles and arteries, or breaking bone, without actually breaking the skin of the person they're using it on. This technique can also be used to repair the chakra system in a patient if for some reason it has been damaged. When used offensively, in combat, it is difficult to concentrate on the length and power of the scalpel, making it harder to successfully hit an enemy's arteries, ensuring a kill.
Guild Description: See the official description. The offensive version of this is frequently cited as 'Chakra Enjintou [ Chakra Scalpel ]'. Retraining allows for greater or shorter lengths of the scalpel, up to & including a standard katana length.

With that Shikatsu gave him a nod and proceeded. "This next jutsu is a tricky one. Not for it's complexity, but for its Versatility. It is used for treatment as well as offensive use." He held his right hand up as a very feint green aura formed around his hand, no more than half an inch off of it. "This is the Chakra scalpel. It is used for surgery in the field, as well as being a great weapon when it is master. For now, I want you to try and focus the chakra and form the scalpel. Once that is done we will move on to applying it." He said as the glow went away. He placed the scroll with the proper hand seals on it in front of you. "Once you get the hang of it, hand signs are no longer needed as long as you can quickly and easily control this fine chakra."

Tsu listened closely to Nara-san's explanation, his expression alert and attentive, one hand being held by Koko who was still resting on his shoulder. Mushi was falling asleep again, resting on Tsu's feet and on the underside of the table. He nodded as Nara-san finished and lifted the scroll, careful not to dislodge either Koko or Mushi at first Hm. he set it down before taking Koko off his shoulder and setting her down on Mushi who instantly curled up around her. The two would snooze together for a few hours if left alone. Tsu picked the scroll back up to read it more in detail, using one hand to hold the scroll and another to practice the hand signs. Once he had them memorized, Tsu put the scroll down and breathed out carefully and focused on his chakra.

He moved over to the young girl's corpse and held his hand out over her stomach, flat and even. Steadying breath, in and out, and then chakra flowed over his hand, the rosy feathers forming into a tight slender knife that was about the length and shape of a slender rectangular knife. Like a tanto knife but smaller in shape. Carefully, Tsu bent his hand to gently press the knife through the skin and incise the lower intestine. Tsu had spent most of his time at the academy studying anatomy and physiology, learning as much as he could about the human body and it's workings. His hand was only slightly shaking due to concentration and he let out a breath to moderate that. Lifting the chakra knife again, he released it's form and his chakra became feathers again before fading from sight "I can see this as being very useful! Thank you, Nara-san."

Shikatsu watched carefully as the young boy focused his chakra and began with an incision. He was a bit shaky, but that would be fixed with practice. His aim however was very good for one so young. He knew that, with enough training, he could become very skilled in the medical arts. Once he finished he examined the body and nodded. He held his hand over the same area as it glowed green and healed what Tsu had just done. "Yes, this technique is very useful, in more ways that one. Once you have had sufficient time training with this, you can wield it like any other weapon. For example..." He said holding his hand out to the side, his chakra coating his hand and pulsating lightly. Before another second passed the chakra has shot outward about 2.5 feel. This new blade shown with the hue of his chakra, but was still as thin as any scalpel. "This jutsu can become a great weapon as well." He looked at the male body and slashed at it's mid section. At first glance there seemed to be no damage to the body. "You know your anatomy, see what you make of that." He said ending the jutsu as the blade vanished.

Tsu was unsure whether Nara-san wanted him to identify the damaged area or heal the damage ...best to cover all bases. stepping forward, he took a deep breath and pulled up the anatomy of a male body in his minds eye, overlaying that on the body on the table "Based on the trajectory of your cut, there is a chance you struck a portion of the liver, stomach, and large intestine. There is also a good chance you struck the lower most ribs, though this may have been the ribs made of bone or cartilage or both." he leaned over the body, his focus shifting to the more immediate necessities of healing "If this were a living man, I would focus on healing the stomach and large intestine first as they carrier acidic liquids that could spread and cause more damage to underlying tissue and other organs. Chances of the liver being truly damaged are less than 0.007% as it would be the lower most portion and thus the smallest. And there is also a chance that the lower rib would take the brunt of the damage so the liver would be last. I would follow up the stomach and large intestine healing with checking for rib damage." he tapped his upper lip before carefully reaching forward, his hand hovering with fingers spread wide but not touching the skin "Depending on the deepness of your cut, the chances are that you nicked or completely severed the spine in your attack." being able to diagnose without seeing the wound was fine but...Tsu's face was displeased "Is there a jutsu that allows for us to do an actual visual inspection without opening the individual?" like a portable jutsu x-ray..."Do you want me to heal the damage?" he asked, his hand starting to glow as he collected the chakra necessary to perform Healing Hands.

Shindan [ Diagnosis ]
Rank: E
Official Description: The first step in treatment is understanding the problem. With this skill a shinobi uses their hands to carefully probe a patient for problems. This technique is preformed by kneeling over a patient and slowly running both hands over their body, looking for signs of injury that may not be visible to the naked eye. It can detect things such as internal injury, improper heart rate, non-apparent bone fractures, poisoning, and disease. A ninja of higher body rank has learned to use this technique to perform a rudimentary examination of a body to determine cause and time of death. A D - rank (Genin) using this skill takes several minutes of work to determine the nature of a problem, a C - ranked (Chuunin) takes less than a minute and a B - ranked (Jounin) requires only a few seconds.
Guild Description: See the official description.

A strange look shown on Shikatsu's face, not because it was odd, but because he didn't usually wear it. He had an impressed look on his face. It had been quite some time since he had trained anyone who had such a knack for the medical arts. Tsu was quick and efficient and even covered the 'what if' basis for what may happen. When he asked his question about the portable X-ray machine he nodded. Once he saw the young genin's hands glow he held up his own to stop him. "Don't heal just yet. If you try and heal what you think may be wrong without knowing you may miss something and that would be just as bad. The technique you are looking for is called Shindan. It is a technique that we learn to quickly examine the body and see what is wrong with it. One you have mastered it, you'll be able to almost see what is going on inside of the body without ever needing to be in there. Broken bones, damaged organs, ruined chakra networks, and even poisons will make themselves known to you." He grabbed a fairly large book and handed it over to Tsu. "Study that, and then we will see what all you can find out." He said sitting in a near by chair.

Releasing the chakra immediately as Nara-san spoke, Tsu straightened to listen, nodding slowly. He agreed with what his sensei was telling him, mostly because misdiagnosis had been a common caution in every medical book he'd ever read. Thinking you know the cause and actually knowing the cause were two very different things and one could kill your patient a lot faster than the other. As Nara-san continued to elaborate on how the new technique, Shindan, would be useful in his work, Tsu took the large book he was offered and listened patiently before nodding "Yes, Nara-san!" he carefully placed the book on the table alongside the cadaver, reading through the learning steps and application of Shindan.

Carefully lining his hands with a thin layer of chakra, Tsu tilted his head as he pressed them to the cadaver. While touching the corpse with his bare hands might have been unpleasant, Tsu was fairly comfortable with the chakra between himself and the body. His focus intense, he spent several minutes examining the internal organs with Shindan, noting that he was correct in his assessment of the liver being protected by the cartilage of the lower ribs. The stomach had been partially incised and a portion of the large intestine had been completely severed. Going deeper with a gentle application of more pressure, he noted that while the spine was not damaged, some of the back ligaments had taken a few knicks from the chakra blade.
[1/1 Learning Post]

"My initial assessment of the damage is correct, with a few modifications to my assumptions." he said, his tone slightly airy as he kept his focus on the work at hand "The liver is unmarred though the cartilage of the lower ribs has taken some damage. The stomach has been incised and, had this been a living patient, fluids would be filling the internal cavity. A portion of the large intestine has been entirely cut away and will need to be reattached. Also, you did avoid the spine but there is evidence of some small cuts to the back muscles and ligaments indicating that the blade did go deeper than I thought." taking his hands away for a second and focusing on bringing more chakra to them, Tsu leaned in and pressed his hands firmly to the body above where he stated injuries were. The chakra glowed a vibrant rose before vanishing and he stepped back, hands going behind his back, to wait for Nara-san to check his work.

Shousen Jutsu [ Mystical Hand Technique ]
Rank: A
Official Description: This technique allows the ninja to heal wounds by focusing their own chakra to their hands. If the ninja is highly skilled, they are able to heal more critical injuries. Highly skilled medical-Nins such as Tsunade can use their techniques to perform surgeries that otherwise would not be possible.
Guild Description: See the official description. It's a version of the Healing Hands: Major, so please see that description as well.
Learning
Reimyo Honnui [ Delicate Stitching ]
Rank: E
Official Description: The user will place their hands against an open wound, releasing chakra from their pores in order to "sew" the injury. The threads formed are more like thin chakra staples than anything else, and can be broken if upset. When the afflicted area is fully healed, the stitches will merely disolve. This technique can also be performed offensively, the user simply hitting the target with a chakra infused hand, creating the threads which can then be tugged and so on.
Guild Description: The user creates chakra stitches to either seal wounds or wrap opponents. For each additional rank of chakra the user pays while performing this technique offensively, the number of threads created and their durability increases accordingly. Each Body Rank allows for five [5] "stitchtes" to be made per utilization of this technique.

Shikatsu was studying his own papers while Tsu was doing his work. Once Tsu finished and waited on him to check his work he put the paper down. Stepping up to the body he examined it in just a few seconds. "Very well done. However, your level of healing jutsu wont suffice for this much damage." He used a regular scalpel to go ahead and open up the chest of this guy so Tsu could see the inside for himself. Most of the severe damage was still there even after the treatment. "For damage this severe, you want to bring them to the hospital, if they can even make it. Either that or a skilled enough medical ninja. Like so."

He said as he held out his hands and concentrated. Soon his chakra covered his hands, but it was different as this time it was a silvery glow. His breathing slowed and his eyes were closed. He took a deep breath, opened his eyes, and slowly went to work on the body. He slowly moved his hand across the less damaged areas as they started to mend. Once finished he got to work on the areas that were severe. Normally you'd do this in reverse, but for demonstration purposes this worked out fine.

He carefully reattached the damaged areas and stitched them together. This was not done with wire or thread, but with chakra sutures he created from his fingers. Each of the 5 threads he made seamlessly worked its was into the flesh as he sewed the muscle and organs together. Once stitched he went and healed them the rest of the way. After he had finished he stepped back, wiped his brow, and let Tsu take a look.

Tsu waited patiently as Nara-san finished what he was doing and then stepped up next to his sensei as he leaned over to examine it. Tilting his head slightly to get a better view as Nara-san opened up the cadaver, getting a good look at the remaining damage "If I am in a situation where a teammate is injured severely, and I am not at a level where I can fully heal them, do you suggest I attempt a partial healing to help them get to the hospital?" he asked, watching Nara-san begin to heal and then close up the cadaver "If the injuries are this severe, in that situation, then moving the injured party to the hospital may be more damaging. So while my level might be low now, I might be strong enough to heal them so they can get to a hospital or to another medic." His eyes grew large at the suture work, watching the chakra threads move I would very much like to learn that. But I'll have to wait till I'm of greater rank. he thought before looking at Nara-san "Or do you suggest that, if they are in that much damage, I should choose the other option?" the other option being to save his own life. In a situation where someone has sustained the kind of damage they were discussing, it is unlikely that Tsu would be given time to take action where spending time healing is possible. Which would mean he would have to make the choice of saving the patient or abandoning them.

Nodding slowly, Tsu appeared somber at the thought "I hope I never have to make such a decision but I will." he clenched his fists at his sides, thinking One life lost is better than two. And if I live, I can save others. he would think of ways to honors those he could not save when the time came. Shaking off the somber feelings, Tsu listened as Nara-san continued, accepting the scroll that was handed to him. Reading through it, he gave a little frown as he considered how best to practice this "I don't....will this work on cadavers?" he was perfectly willing to cause himself pain if there was a need but as Nara-san seemed to want him to avoid it, he looked up at Nara-san "How can I practice it?"

Tsu stared at the kunai and then put the scroll down to give Nara-san a very...particular expression. He didn't say anything but his eyes clearly asked what kind of double standard nonsense was Nara-san pulling. Tsu couldn't hurt himself but it was all right for Nara-san? Mushi's nose twitched as the iron smell filled the room and Koko lifted her head to sniff as well, blinking her eyes as Tsu stepped closer. He didn't say anything but he pulled his chakra into his hands, the chakra gathering like feathers as he brought his hands over the wound. The feathers settled onto the skin and then spread out from the wound as Tsu concentrated.

Slowly, Nara-san's skin glowed the same rosy gold as Tsu's chakra as he sent the jutsu flowing up and into the nerves, engaging the Pain Suppression. He didn't look up as he also subtly applied Healing Hands to the cut so that it would stop bleeding and the skin would close up. It wasn't as well as it could have been but he wouldn't get better if he didn't practice and, as great as cadavers were, he learned more from seeing living skin heal. It was just...almost mesmerizing to watch the skin knit together with the glow of his chakra pulling the skin together. When he learned the chakra sutures, would it look like this? Or better? Probably better. I need to get stronger so I can learn more. pulling his hands back, Tsu looked up at Nara-san expectantly, waiting for a report on both the Healing Hands and the Pain Suppression.

At S+rank, the life-threatening signal is also shut down, clearing the mind to work without the distraction of already knowing that you're in the worst of the worst danger. Lasts until an equal rank Healing Hands Technique removes it.
