I sighed, "You seem to have as much understanding of pain and sorrow as I do, Hotaru. I don't think the rest of my friends can understand that. All of their lives are one happy bubble. I... Just don't want to burst their bubble with something, in my opinion that they can't understand yet. They know I feel saddened and pained, and they know that I've had a rough life, true, but they probably wouldn't understand the sorrow and sadness of losing a loved one... And the people you cared for, betraying you, not... Caring for you... At..." Then, suddenly, tears came from my eyes, remebering all the sorrow and suffering I went through.

I said nothing the whole time he spoke. My heart ached when he started to tear and I hugged him close to me. "It's okay. I understand what you mean and how you feel." I murmured softly while petting him gently.

I hugged Hotaru back, and just let my tears fell. I knew she was speaking the truth. That's when my tears turned to sobs. I cried softly, "In all my life that I've given kindness to other people... This... This is the first time I've been on the recieving end of a person giving kindness. Thank you, Hotaru..."

I smiled but said nothing. I tightened my arms around him to comfort him and protect him in a sense. "There is no need to thank me." I said softly.

I stopped crying. I said, "You really are modest. Hotaru, what you see before you is a person who gives his life to help others, a musician who plays the violin well, a soccer player who has won many trophies, and a glaive user who instinctively knows an ancient style of glaive combat. And a person who has suffered many times. But all of these are mere elements of who I am. When the time comes, and when I figure out why I don't know my past, and when these elements come together, then, Hotaru, I will show you the true Akira Kido." That's when I mysteriously smiled, "And I promise, I'll be a better person. Hopefully, one who you can trust all of your secrets with." That's when I rose to exit Hotaru's room, but not before I kissed her hand. I smiled, "Sweet dreams, my firefly. Always remember, sometimes, light is a good thing to embrace."

I sat silently listening to Akira speak. He was becoming more and more strange as time seemed to pass. Granted it was only a few minutes. I felt something strange and in the back of my mind, Saturn's caution came into play. All my secrets? I would have laughed at the thought. There are some secrets that are best to remain unknown. I really didn't have a chance to say anything at all as Akira left, truthfully I didn't know what to say even if I did. After he left I stared at my hand. "A good thing to embrace..." I mused softly.

I said, "Just remeber, Hotaru, true friends watch each other's backs. If you need anything, just call." That's when I threw a stickie shaped like a star, with my cell phone number on it.
That's when my 'partner's caution went up, as I left Hotaru's room. He wondered if it was all right for me to put my trust in her. I had no doubt that Hotaru was hiding something, but it wasn't a bad kind of darkness. It certainly wasn't the same evil... Rather, it was more just than unjust.

I caught the stickie and looked down at the number. A smile made it's way to my face. "Just know...I got your back." I said so quietly I wasn't sure if I had even actually said.

I looked back at Hotaru. For the first time in my life, I genuinely smiled. I said, "Thanks, Hotaru. I'll protect you with my life. You can trust me."

I looked at Akira and smiled in return. Even though his comment was sweet there was no way I could let that happen. "Same for me." I murmured.

As I walked to the guest room, I thought, 'Once I have my memories back, then, I'll tell her everything.'
That's when I turned back and faced Hotaru. I sighed, "I just hope that no one gets to spread rumors about us being boyfriend and girlfriend... We're just friends, right, Hotaru?"

I stood there looking at him. "Of course no one will." I said with a laugh. "After all I am just a new girl." I then added with a small laugh. "Night Akira-kun." I murmured closing my door.

I smiled, "Good night, sweet firefly. Don't let the bedbugs bite."
And that's when I started to go back to the guest room, thankful that both Hotaru and Saturn had my backs. I entered the guest room, and I went to my bed, with my self made Saturn plushie, and I went to sleep.

It took me a long time before I went to sleep. So long in fact that I even went out and did some youma busting. It was close to two-thirty before I was back in bed and asleep. I yawned and curled up in a ball.
