Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick felt his heart clentch as Arielle lied. It wasn't the lie that bothered him, in fact, he agreed that Athena didn't really need to know about this, both for Arielle's sake and hers. It was the fact that Arielle felt so desperat that she didn't even have to think about it. Kedrick smiled, trying to look cheerful. "We're both okay, I don't really think I would have contracted anything from Arielle." He said confidently. Athena smiled, but looked a little hesitent. "If you too are sure..." She said, looking between the two of them.

((Sorry for the shrotness and spelling errors.))

Arielle only smiled brightly, "Of course we're sure. But I'll make sure to keep an eye on your brother nonetheless. I don't want anything bad happening to my boyfriend whatsoever. I love him too much to let anything bad happen to him." She smiled again and picked at something on her pants before looking up at Athena. "So, Athena. Is there anything interesting about yourself? As your future sister in law, I feel like I should get to know you as best as I can." She knew that saying that would cause Kedrick to blush, but the room needed to feel more positive than it already was. Plus, she had to do everything in her own power from blushing out of embarrassment because it almost seemed like a dream being married to Kedrick, whether it actually happened or not.

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick's jaw went slightly slack. He could feel his face heating up but couldn't really find anything to say to that. He cleared his throat, his ears bright red, bust suddenly a thought occurred to him.'you know...that might not be such a bad idea...give it some time...' Athena giggled softly before turning to listen to what Arielle said next. "Me?" She asked, looking a little bit surprised. She tipped her chin up, looking at the ceiling as she thought. "I don't know...lets see...I'm fifteen, I enjoy reading and drawing, painting when I can but sometimes my hands shake too badly...." She paused, gathering her thoughts. She looked down from the ceiling, smiling brightly at Arielle. "I can't cook." Athena added with a laugh, folding her thin fingers together in her lap.

"Yes you," replied Arielle sweetly with a smile to match that same manner. She noticed Kedrick's embarrassed behavior and couldn't help but giggle lightly at him. When Athena finally answered, she listened attentively, not saying a single word until she was done. When she finished, she smiled at Kedrick, "Looks like I found my soul buddy. I feel like Athena and I will be really good friends Kedrick," Arielle said before looking at Athena, "And make sure your family lets me know when you get out and I can figure out when to start our cooking lessons, and, I want to treat you out to a girls day out with my best friend, Maria. You'll love her." She continued smiling and felt so positive about it, but a part of her was afraid that what she was saying were just empty promises, but she knew she couldn't let Athena down.

I will come back safely from Jonesy, Arielle thought determinedly, No matter what. I have to keep my word... For everyone. And for once, that was one of the only silver lining that she found throughout her somewhat doomed day.

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick smiled at the two of them, he had hoped that Arielle would get along well with Athena. Athena's eyes brightened at the thought and she reached out, clasping Arielle's hands in both of hers. "Really?" She asked, her eyes shining. It did wonders for her pale, thin face. "You would do that!" She smiled brilliantly at her. "Thank you! Arielle, I'd love that!" "Well, since you two have big plans," Kedrick said, leaning backwards on his elbows. "I suppose I'll stay home...alone...by my self..." He said giving them a mock-pouty look. Athena smiled looking over at him. "Don't give me that Kedrick!" She said with a smile. Kedrick grinned back at his little sister. "yeah, I know, I'll just have to have an afternoon out with Dimitri." He said, sitting up slightly. Athena dropped Arielle's hand, staring at Kedrick. "Dimitri?!" She asked looking afronted. "You're still hanging around that good-for-nothing flirt!" She asked in disbelief, but still smiling so Kedrick knew that she didn't mean anything truly offensive. "Yes of course, and Dimitri isn't that bad." He said with a smirk. "You just happened to meet him on an off day." "yeah, right after he tried to flirt with Sakimi and got punched in the face!" She said, and Kedrick rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, trust me, he learned his lesson well." He looked over, smiling at Arielle, she knew how Dimitri could be sometimes.

Arielle's smile grew brighter as Athena grew more excited about the idea. She only nodded and was glad she could make Athena happy in her own way. "Of course I would do that and I'm glad you're looking forward to it," she said before glancing at Kedrick. She could only giggle at how Kedrick was acting. She listened to them when they brought up the topic of Dimitri and looked surprised when Dimitri had attempted to flirt with Sakimi, only to get punched in the face. Another giggle escaped her and she smiled back at Kedrick when he looked at her. "I feel like I learn something new every day though."

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick smiled at her. "But of course." He said, nudging her lightly. "I'm sure you have to keep on your toes with Maria as well!" Kedrick sat up from his slightly prone position, resting his elbows on his knee caps and placing his chin in one hand. He couldn't help but smile at the thought of their two friends, he, Like Arielle, was curious to see if they may someday care for each other. 'That would be good...' He thought with a small smile. 'Dimitri needs someone stable in his life, and I can't always be there for him...' Kedrick tipped his head slightly, his chin still cradled in his palm. "You know, after today, we still need to schedule that dinner with the two of them." He said with a carefree smile, although inside, he hoped that Arielle had read between the lines to what he was really saying. Today is going to go away, I won't let him hurt you, and in the morning we'll both be alright. Trust me...

"Oh, not as much," Arielle said with a grin, "We don't have to worry about her getting slapped or punched on the guy. She'd actually do that guy the favor if he's just a bit too creepy in her taste. Maria sure is an interesting case. You just have to be around her long enough to know that." And for being Maria's best friend, she definitely knew everything there was to know about Maria. She could be a flirt, but she was never that bad and she always claimed that she hadn't found the "right guy" yet. Maybe Maria and Dimitri needed each other and their little flirting habits would end. That would be a stroke of luck though, Arielle thought with a small smile before Kedrick spoke again.

"I thought you already reserved before we left," Arielle said slowly but could only smile at him. A part of her felt like he meant something more, that he was hoping that today was just go away like a bad dream and life would go back to normal. Although she was determined to come back safe and unharmed, a part of her was still doubting just how successful she would be. Kedrick... Don't let me go... Please...

Kedrick Suwa

((Ooops, XD I totally forgot that we had already done that, serves me right for not looking back XD ))

Kedrick blinked, looking at her blankly for a second. "We..we did?" He asked, drawing a complete blank. Athena's melodic laughter brought him back to the present. His cheeks colored slightly in embarrassment and he rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh yeah...I guess we did." He said with a small smile. Frankly, it seemed like forever ago that something like a dinner reservation seemed important, there had been so much else going on that it had slipped out, and left his mind without a trace. Athena smiled at him, drawing her knees up to her chest and linking her thin fingers in front of them so she had drawn herself up in a little ball. "You two have big plans?" She asked, with a hint of mischief in her voice. "Actually." Kedrick said, touching her forehead lightly with his index finger. "The four of us, We wanted to get together and have dinner with Maria and Dimitri at the new Japanese buffet." He said with a smile. Athena nodded thoughtfully, letting go of one of her hands and resting in in a loosely closed fist against her lips.

"Of course we did silly," Arielle replied with a giggle, joining along with Athena's laughter. She moved closer and messed with Kedrick's infamous messy hair, "Don't tell me you're secretly are getting gray hairs in your head without my knowledge of it." She moved her hand back and could only smile when Athena asked if they had big plans. If plotting on getting each of your best friends to become together was a big plan, then yes they were. Arielle just let Kedrick answer and nodded in agreement to what he said. "It's going to be so much fun," Arielle added with a smile.

Just then, her phone vibrated again and she thought it was Maria calling back for something else. Probably some juicy boy story about a guy she just met or something like that. She gave them a light apologetic smile and excused herself from the room, not wanting to take too long on the phone. She noticed that there was no caller ID and an unknown number, so she thought it was someone mistaking her for someone else. Still, it wouldn't hurt to check.

"Hello? May I ask who's calling?" Arielle asked politely, still thinking that the person on the other end was just a confused person with the wrong number. When the voice finally spoke, her heart sank down lower than it did the night before.

"You should know who's calling, Arielle," Jonesy responded in a calm manner, even though it still made Arielle feel worried. He continued in the same manner, a smile being heard in his voice, "I was so excited to be meeting up with you that I just couldn't wait any longer to meet up. So I'm at our spot a little early."

"Y-Y-You are?" Arielle asked, dread filling up her entire being.

"Of course, sweetheart," Jonesy responded, "So, I thought I'd ask you to drop whatever you're doing and come and meet me. It'll be just like old times, so please don't make me wait any longer. You only have thirty to forty-five minutes to come and meet up with me. Any later than that and, well, we don't want to see what might happen if you do come late, right Arielle?"

Arielle could only nod numbly, basically not believing anything that was being said at that moment. She wanted to rebel against him and say that she wouldn't meet up with him, but at the threat of Kedrick's life and everyone else dear to her, she just couldn't do that. And who knows what he'd do to Kedrick's sisters if he found out about any of them. "I won't be late. I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Good," Jonesy responded, "Goodbye, Arielle." The line went dead in just a few seconds and Arielle just felt like crying. She had to keep her word for Athena's sake, but she knew that there was no point with Jonesy in the mix. If only I never met this man...,Arielle thought with a sad sigh.

After a couple of minutes just standing outside Athena's room, Arielle took a deep breath and walked back in with a small smile. She knew she had to lie again and it made her sick to her stomach that she had to do so. "I'm so sorry, Athena. I just got a call from one of my cousin's and it's an urgent family matter that I have to attend to, and unfortunately, I have to leave now. I wish I could stay, but my family's calling." She walked over to Kedrick and kissed his forehead and gave Athena a light hug, "It was a pleasure meeting you Athena and I can't wait for our girl's day out. As for you Kedrick, I'll call you later. Bye."

She waved to them, trying to look like nothing was as wrong as she felt before leaving the room. She walked normally to the front of the building before hurrying away, walking fast to jogging to running. After some time, her tears fell down her cheeks as she continued running onwards to her destination.

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick smiled as Arielle ruffled his hair. He placed his hand on the top of his head, gently squeezing her fingers. "No gray hair here." He said, grinning good-naturedly up at her. "Just short term memory loss." Athena laughed softly, rocking back and forth as she delightedly watched the interaction between her older brother and Arielle. Kedrick blinked in surprise when Arielle's phone rang again. 'Maria....I hope....' He thought, trying not to look concerned for the second time that day. "You'd better take that." He said with a smile. "Probably Maria again." Kedrick watched as Arielle left the room, and waited, swallowing stiffly when she came back a few minutes later. At her words, her lie, Kedrick felt like the bottom of his stomach had dropped out, his mouth went instantly dry and he felt the color drain from his face. 'this early?' He thought numbly. 'no way...but I thought....' Kedrick didn't have time to relay to himself what exactly he thought, because before he knew it Arielle had said goodbye and was slipping out of his reach.

Kedrick turned to Athena, trying desperately to keep the fear and panic off of his face. "Look girly." He said with a smile, using her old nick name. "Whaaaat?" She asked, rolling her eyes slightly. "When ever you call me girly it means you need a favor or something." "yeah, or something..." Kedrick said distractedly. "mhhh hm." She said. "Okay, lay it on me." Kedrick cleared his throat. "I have to go..." "Now?!" She asked, looking up. "But...But Arielle just left, you guys had only just gotten here!" Athena said, looking a little upset. Kedrick reached out, taking her face in his hands. He touched his forehead to hers, suddenly pleading. "Athena. Please..." He whispered softly. His sister looked a little startled. "Kedrick?" She asked gently, reaching up and touching his face. "Are you okay....you're acting kind of...funny...but, you know what, alright, no problem, just go." She said, pushing him back gently, Kedrick looked up, his eyes locking with hers. "Thank you!" He said, kissing her forehead and standing up, bolting towards the door. "And Kedrick!" She called and he turned quickly. "You and Arielle come back soon okay?" Athena asked with a small smile. Kedrick smiled, nodded once and stepped out the door.

It took Kedrick some time to get Arielle back in sight, he had wasted precious time talking to Athena. But now, Kedrick shadowed her quietly, making sure to stay out of her line of sight. His heart pounded uncomfortably loudly in his ears and his breath came short, but he didn't stop.

Arielle Shore

User Image
Arielle continued walking quickly, not looking back in fear that she would be tempted to return to Kedrick. She pushed on forward, unaware that Kedrick was actually following somewhat closely behind her. She did feel like there was someone following here, but there were others behind her and she just blamed it on her paranoia. Plus, she didn't have time to worry about people behind her, every second mattered, for the safety for those she cared about while also chipping away at her freedom.

Five and a half blocks later and Arielle was closing to the familiar area of the meeting place. It was near one of the parks that was directly across the street from the neighborhood bakery. Her eyes scanned the crowd that had a few small children playing. Eventually, her eyes landed on the familiar dark head of Jonesy. She took a deep breath, making it seem like she hadn't almost sprinted five and a half to six and a half blocks just to make it in time. She walked over to him slowly, clearing her throat when she got close enough to him. It took just a few seconds before he turned to face her and smiled, a smile that just made her feel all wrong.

Jonesy stood up, being close to about six feet. He had dark hazel eyes, broad shoulders and a decent build, mid length raven black hair, and small signs of stubble on his chin. He looked like a typical college or graduate student, especially for his age range being in between twenty and thirty. However, despite his normal appearance, his personality was definitely a lie.

He smiled a charming smile at Arielle that made her feel sick to her stomach and looked her up and down with this look in his eyes that just made her feel wrong. "I see you dressed cutely for me, Arielle," he said with a small chuckle, taking a lock of her ponytail and playing with it, "I'm so glad you thought of me."

Every fiber of Arielle's being screamed, Don't touch me!, but she couldn't find the words to speak up to him."I'm here like you asked, Jonesy. Just what did you want to talk about?"

Jonesy still held on lightly to the end of her ponytail before letting it go. He sighed and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her close to him. "I'll tell you when we get there dear Arielle, but for now, lets just enjoy this day. These beautiful days are soon coming to a close once the fall ends, so you have to enjoy these moments while you still can."

Something about what he last said gave Arielle the impression that she was honestly doomed with him now. She had sealed her fate and that she already knew that he was never going to let her go or out of his sight again. She almost wanted to cry, feeling like everything was now hopeless, but she knew it wouldn't look good in front of him. She could only nod, still wishing she had to courage to tell him to get off of her, but if she made a scene in front of all these people, Jonesy would take out his anger and frustration on her when they were alone.

I should still try and ask, Arielle thought, hoping that she still had a chance, despite what the rest of her was saying. Taking a deep breath, she looked up at Jonesy and tried smiling as politely as she could. "Jonesy, I was wondering, after our little talk, I could go back to where I was staying. I mean, since I'm no longer under your service, I'd have the freedom to do that, right?"

By then, they had already walked away from the park, in a direction that was unfamiliar to Arielle. Definitely not where one of his hideouts were. They continued walking in silence, the more time that Jonesy didn't respond, the more Arielle's anxiety grew.

When he was finally ready to answer, he removed his arm from her shoulders, walking ahead of her for about a step and a half before looking back at her, his facial expression completely serious. "You no longer have any choice about when you're done working for me. I get to decide and I have no intention of getting rid of you. You're too valuable to me and you're too precious to let someone else have, especially this... What was his name, Kendrick?"

"His name is Kedrick," Arielle responded, correcting his mispronunciation, "And you can't just steal me from my boy-, I mean my employer."

Jonesy caught Arielle's small slip up with a dark grin, staring her down and laughing darkly. He walked back to her and grabbed her arm tightly, pulling her, almost dragging her, onwards. "That little snot nosed brat isn't one of my customers. So taking you back from your boyfriend is in my power. Besides, there's nothing he can do about it anyway. He doesn't have the guts to save you if he knows what's best for him. You lose either way, Arielle and about time for you to stop resisting me. It's just about time for you to give up while you still can, or this is just going to be long and painful for the both of us, well, mainly for you."

Arielle just stared at him in shock and surprise, every hope she had crushed to pieces as she let her head fall down in defeat. It was utterly hopeless at this point and she wanted to cry again. Oh Kedrick.... I'm so sorry.

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick followed Arielle to the park, skirting behind trees, bushes, and benches. He wasn't close enough to hear everything they were saying, but he caught words, and phrases. Snatches of conversations like 'I'm so glad you thought of me.' and 'I'll tell you when we get there dear Arielle' It felt like a punch to the gut when Jonsey put his arm around Arielle's shoulder. He half stood up from where he was standing before remembering not to be seen and crouching back down again. "You keep your hands off of her you slimy, horrifically congealed bucket of vomit...." He murmured quietly under his breath, He knew it was a terrible thing to call someone, but if this ever blew over, Kedrick swore he'd say it to his face.

Every second seemed to stretched to an eternity as Kedrick followed them out of the park, still picking up disjointed parts of the conversation. The gravel crunched quietly under his feet and a warm breeze rustled though his hair. The day was so beautiful, it seemed a mockery of what was going on. If the day were to reflect the nature of what was happening, it would be raining, no sleet. It could be fire and brimstone for all Kedrick cared, this was the worst thing he had ever experienced and, not for the first time that day, he really hope that Maria had everything under control.

Arielle Shore

User Image
Silence continued on for the rest of the walk there, and soon, Arielle had absolutely no idea where she was going to. This area of the city wasn't familiar with her, and fear came back to her again. She assumed that if they were going to go somewhere private to talk, it would be in one of the three hideouts that she was used to. Could it be that during the time she stopped dealing with Jonesy that he had found another place to continue with his despicable schemes?

A part of her still wanted to give up, to just give in and go on with the way things were. But she knew that giving up wasn't the answer. She wasn't too prideful, but she knew that she wasn't giving up without a fight. She had made it so far before and she'd continue fighting until Jonesy or, and hopefully not, she gives up.

After about another twenty minutes of walking, Jonesy was finally slowing down, bringing Arielle to an almost ghost town of a neighborhood. The entire time that they were walking, he never loosened his grip on her and by then, her arm was becoming sore. They stopped in a warehouse like building, which was surprisingly had a few guards hanging around. When they saw Jonesy, the easily let them past and Arielle enjoyed the sun one last time before going inside.

The inside didn't seem so bare, there was some furniture around the room. She knew that it wasn't going to feel exactly at home, but she knew it could've looked a bit better. Jonesy let go of her and snapped his fingers, letting his goons come inside the building. He didn't close the door at all, which was because there was no air conditioning in the building. Even his windows opened.

With another snap of his fingers, they brought up chairs for him and Arielle to sit in. Jonesy sat down first and looked at Arielle until nodding and letting her know that she could sit down. When she did, the room was silent for a bit and there was a goon near Jonesy's left hand side and another near the door. They continued looking at each other until Arielle looked away from him, glaring at the floor.

"So," Jonesy started, finally breaking the tense silence, "I already have a customer willing to take you in. You'll still do your duties, just as before. However, this customer is a couple hours away. Well, actually, a few cities away. I told him you were willing to go anywhere with him and that he could take you before he leaves the country. He is also free to "discipline" you by any means. He finds headstrong girls interesting, but he wants them to be more...obedient to his desires."

Arielle looked up at him and could only stare him down hotly. How dare he give her away like she was some property, and what was worse, she never had her say in it. She had a feeling he purposely picked someone who would take her far away from the safety of friends and family, and with no one to rely on, her will would be broken more easily. She loathed his entire existence, and every look he gave her, every twisted smile, made her hate grow.

"I refuse to do this," Arielle answered simply, keeping a calm facial expression, "I've already told you that once I turned sixteen I was done. Finished. And I want nothing to do with this anymore. I can get a real job now and I don't need your help. Especially when you have me working for sick perverted old men who like chasing young women's skirts." She stood up, still looking down at Jonesy, who only stared back calmly at her before continuing, "If I knew what sort of twisted man you really were, I'd never had agree three years ago. So if you excuse me, I'll take my leave now."

As she turned around and was about to head out, she heard movement from behind her and a sort of clicking noise. She froze in her tracks, having a feeling that the noise was a bad thing and that if she took another step, she would've risked her life.

"You seem to have forgotten, Arielle," Jonesy said in a dangerous tone, "I now decide what to do with your life. Or did my words go through one ear and out the other? Now, if you take one more step, I will not hesitate to make sure you can't run away anymore. Now turn around, slowly."

She gulped and did as was told, gasping when she noticed that Jonesy had pulled a gun out on her. The aim was straightforward to her chest, and with all the fear she felt, she wouldn't let it show. She would stand her ground.

"Good, Arielle," Jonesy said, his voice still saying the same and a smile that just screamed danger. "Now, you are going to go to my customer whether you want to or not. Understood?"

"I understand, Jonesy," Arielle responded evenly, "But I will NOT go. I refuse and I will never do as you tell me anymore."

Jonesy seemed surprised, not expecting that Arielle would still try and fight back. He was soon filled with anger and moved towards Arielle in quick movements, slapping her hard enough to fall on the floor, stepping on her stomach and pressing down hardly on her. "Now listen here you disgusting little brat. If you talk back to me one more time, I will make you regret every word that comes out of your mouth. You are going and that's final!"

"NO!" Arielle screamed at him with some difficulty,"As long as I still have breath in my lungs, I will never, ever go."

More silence from Jonesy before he sighed and snapped his fingers, sitting his gun in his pocket. The goon that was by his left hand side walked over to Jonesy and handed him his valued weapon, a switchblade. Smiling darkly at Arielle, he took his foot off of her and pulled her up to her knees, revealing the blade and letting it rest to her chin. "You've done it Arielle...," Jonesy said in a tone mocking sorrow and pity, "Now I have to hurt you... And I was desperately trying not to hurt you, but you leave me no choice..."

Arielle trembled slightly in fear, but continued looking in Jonesy's eyes with as much hate as she could muster.

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick shadowed the two of them to the warehouse. It looked like a cold, foreboding place, 'it suits him...' Kedrick though disgustedly, shaking his head. When Arielle and Jonesy disappeared though the doors, Kedrick was at a momentary loss. What if he missed it, what if Arielle was in danger and he could get to her? He swallowed stiffly, circling around the back of the building till he came to a window. Kedrick breathed a sigh of relief as Arielle came back into his line of vision, as long as he could see her, he knew he would be able to help. He moved quickly over to another window, closer to were the two were standing. His breath caught in his lungs as Jonsey pulled his gun. Kedrick fumbled numbly for his phone, but his attention was seized again as Jonsey struck her. Thankfully, Kedrick cry of outrage was lost in Arielle's yelp of surprise. The switchblade was the last straw, Kedrick couldn't take it anymore. He pulled out his phone, flipping it open and texting one, single word to Maria. "Go."
