Heh, I just had someone randomly tell me...
"I like your avatar, it seems to tell a story".
Neat to me, because I have no Fashion Sense, and never get compliments on my avatar.
Plus my sense of what looks good isnt' standard for Gaia. Most of the Gaian avatars I see that rank high are either cosplays, or "Jam as many donation items, older the better, I can on a single avatar!" sweatdrop

Well, it's the same Avatar I've been using to Advertise "Plan Black"... Which all you GNG people should keep your eyes open for. Just added the black hole and Celebrity. But hey, got my first positive avatar compliment. So I gotta say that must mean this month's items kick a**.
Just wish I could afford more than two letters a month. Damn inflation... stare I'm just glad I got a "Letter Subscription" from a friend of mine. I locked in the price of 5.5 K about a year ago. That makes it what, less than a third of the current asking price for letters now? xd

I'd like to whore as much items as i can. Things i dont even remember buying after i woke up. sweatdrop Learned to like them in some way or type so i dont try to sell it off anytime soon. Hopefully this works until the asking price gets pretty high up there. Look at Naruto headband. I wish i had bought more then one. I didnt know i'd get this attached to it.
But as the number of Gaian increase every few months, more Gaian that are capable of buying donation items also increases. Thus, more donation items are handed out each month. Making that month's donation item much more common then it is rare. It'll take much more longer for the asking price to rise. stressed

True, but now Inflation has ment that starting price is higher than it was before, and thus when things inflate, they inflate bigger, quicker.
For example, I'm so old I can remember buying up donation letters for 4 K a pop.
And that I could buy a letter one month old for 6-8 K. Two months 8-10 K. Then it tended to depend on what the item was.
Now when I buy additional letters (And by the way, I hate this three item trend, coupled with the "Items have multiple appearances/you can wear more than one at once", it's really eating into my gold), they start out between 15-19 K depending on the item, or number of items needed to complete a monthly 'set'.

Aye, everyone wants gold. sweatdrop cant be helped. Gaia has given new users way too much freebees. When i first signed up, everyone worked there a** off for every piece of gold. Now, it feels like we're in Japan. Everything's in the thousands or above. way Above.

Yeah. I still remember my first "Quest". Was to buy a Yakuta (Which I still have)... sweatdrop And that it took me two months to save up for it.
And I remember actually getting chests and how cool it was.
Though I gave away all my fox stuff and cat stuff. No interest in it, but lots of people were begging for ears and tails.

Ah, the rare items and chests. Dont forget pink links. I always thought getting a pink link was awesome. 1000 gold for every pink link found. I was thrilled searching hours for a pink link. Now, im crapping 1000gold just by posting here, there and maybe a poll or two. Not too much of a sweat sweatdrop compared to before.
I didnt really have a quest, normal casual, common clothing was enough for me, so i saved up. Just incase i needed it. And lo, the day came, Soldat uniform set came out. Apparently, my savings werent enough, so i worked double hard to get enough gold for the hat. And i rember my avatar's particular problem. The soldat cover cuts off the long part of the hair(same hair style as today).

Hrm, Airborn (clan leader, retired Army Captain, from my multi-gaming group) introduced to me a classical country song. I find this song to be pretty fitting for Monlith. Its called "I play chicken" by Cowboy Troy

*points to staff and pendant* got these shortly after they came out and got them for i think 3k for the pendant and 4k for the staff. now the price on them is enormouse! wish i would have picked up an extra of each.

I like how everyone in the guild seems to have picked the same friend. wink
Oh, that person i was talking about. I asked her "What story does it make you think of?"
She answered that it reminded her about Robotech. Because "Some tech guy falling into a rift, and finding a pretty girl"... stare
My fanboyness hurts.
EDIT: Lady Knightstar, who's "Yakima"? That name leapt out until I realized it was an NPC name. Or character name. sweatdrop Tis the city I live in, sadly.

See, you have old items. So I'm guessing most of them aren't serious comments but backhanded ways to try and weasel some gold out of you. "He has an Angelic Staff, he must be rich!" *begbegbeg*
About the most expensive thing I have on mine is probably the Gasmask or Infrared. Both of which could probably be picked up for 600 gold on the marketplace...
Well, excepting the new donation items I added in. Still, they're "New" so they don't scream MONEY!

Amusingly, I've gotten not a one PM about my DJ's. biggrin
This friend reminds me a lot of one of Eileen's friends from when she was at Angelic Layer MUSH, Rika. She just needs a camera and redder hair and she'd be perfect.
I can tell you a bit about Yakima. She's a high ranking member of Lyendi's subfaction, TORAMA, which was founded by Kenosha. She was at one point a drill sergeant-type character for the ASDF, when Ken was in charge of recruitment.
