Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. Catching Coline's eye as she brushed past him through the door, he gave her another reassuring smile, before shutting it behind them. He heard the girl squeak.
"What? What's the matter?" he asked, touching her lightly on her shoulder.
Then he realised. The room was pitch black. She probably felt like she'd just been shut in a prison cell, unable to see a thing.
Immediately, he dashed across the room, vaulting easily over a downed armchair, and ripped several of the curtains on one wall apart. Light came flooding into the room eagerly. Then, he moved to the other side and did the same. The room was now lit normally, and as he looked round, breathing a little heavily, he felt uneasy, almost a little violated, to see his possessions touched by the cold, white light.
Still, it was for Coline, so it didn't really matter.
"I'm terribly sorry about the mess," he said, hastily rearranging some of the displaced items "I promise you, I'm not a slobbish bachelor; your Overseer made quite a mess stumbling around in the dark this morning, that's all."
He took another wide glance around the room, surveying it. It looked rather different in the light. The weapons on the walls, arranged neatly in racks on the various desks, and stacked up in the floorspace glinted in a menacing fashion. Heart pounding, he looked at Coline, hoping she wasn't feeling like running away again. She was the last person he wanted to intimidate. Waving a hand reassuringly, Coline smiled faintly at the Captain. "It's fine, sir. I understand. And umm..." she said, sensing a hint of discomfort. "You can close the curtains again if you're feeling uncomfortable. I don't mind, really. I'm sure I can feel my way around." She was an uninvited guest, after all. She'd manage.

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. "No, no!" he cried, spotting and picking up the towel he'd dropped while attempting to dry his hair "I'm fine! Honestly, I'd much prefer you to be able to see and be comfortable than to lurk in the dark myself."
He stepped towards her, gently towelling his hair in a self-conscious manner, trying very hard to keep the left side of his face covered. "I believe I owe you an apology for earlier. It was incredibly rude of me to just storm off, and I'm not quite sure what came over me. I'm sorry." Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb

Among the buzzing crowd that bustled throughout the fountain square of Barton, there started a frenzy of jostling and shifting bodies. People were darting left and right, and there was muted shouting. Voices of people near the edge of the crowd who could not see the source of the commotion whispered to each other.
"I think I heard someone say that the Sentinel was coming," gossiped an older woman to another.
And so it was, so everyone thought. Cutting through the split crowd was a dark-skinned, red-haired woman with great black horns splitting from just beneath her hairline. Those who were only laying their sights upon her for the first time came to a sudden revelation with surprised shouts.
"The Sentinel! The Sentinel!"
The woman frowned at the eruption. S.I.N.ners gazed at her reverently. She stared back with narrowed cyan-colored eyes that stood out against her dark hair and skin. They called her the "Sentinel" and "Her Infernal Majesty." Was she really called by those names? Was she really..?

 Evelyn
Evelyn turned into the fountain square, her head down. She distantly heard a crow caw—the only nature sound she’d heard since emerging into the S.I.N. owned world. She distantly thought of her own bird—Lite—who she had left on the island, too ashamed to be near him after her continued failure.“The Sentinel!”Evelyn’s head popped up at these words. She instantly moved into an attack mode, ready to fight. Quickly, she shook her head, and pulled her hood closer around her face, hoping no one had seen her reaction. After a quick survey around, she was satisfied that she was undiscovered, for everyone was busy looking at something—or rather someone—else.
Evelyn shoved through the crowd, her bracers doing most of the work of clearing people. She had to see—see if it was true. The Sentinel returned? This could spell disaster.
That’s when Evelyn saw her.

The woman, whom the people seemed to recognize as the Sentinel, swept through the excited crowd. The Barton citizens showed so much excitement at her presence that it was hard not to feel as if perhaps she really was who they claimed her to be.
The Sentinel.
It was such an odd-sounding name. Perhaps it was a title, and no one knew the Sentinel's true name? Mayhap it entailed royal lineage? They seemed to revere as if she were a god. They called her "Majesty" as well, so it must be so.
She held her head higher now, her frown deepening to what could be called a neutral scowl to hide her confusion. Surely, if the crowd around her thought she was the Sentinel, then she should show some kind of dignity. If only she herself could be sure that she was what they called her, then perhaps she would be able to feel the dignity she was expected to show. She shoved a strand of her blood red hair behind her shoulder and marched forward, gazing at the amazed faces that surrounded her.

 Evelyn
Some words she used to say floated into her head…“If you act like you belong somewhere, everyone else will believe it too.”
With these words fresh in her mind, she inhaled deeply and walked out into the opening the crowd had made for the Sentinel. She plastered a smug look on her face and walked up beside the Sentinel.

Harata had followed Eve, though Eve had not know it. She was curious. When she reached Barton, she pulled a hooded cloak on, for she knew he face could not been seen. She gasped, as the Sentinel was seen, and hurried to Eve's side. "Hey. It's Harata. Knock that swagga off before you get knocked. Acting like that will get you noticed. Don't be an idiot. Just seem excited."
