the scoop on artillery!

artillery squad's break down to this.

a foxtrot ((13-Foxtrot in the national guard)) is sent with equipment eithor droped or given to the foxtrot and him and another fox. go out into the terrain by themselev's to see if they can't weeken the enemy with some heavy artillery fire.

*time passes*

if the fox's do their job their in view of the enemy and can't be seen but can see the enemy. they call into a nearby artillery unit that stop's dead to fire. if it's a miss they call in new quadanent's, if it's a hit then you hear "Fire for Effect!!" and every artillery unit in the area blast's whatever it is into nothing.

artillery isn't limited to hurrling shell's across large area's of land ((they can shoot so far they have to take into account the trotation of the earth)) they can shoot just like normal tank's.

I personally haven't had the privalage of seeing this happen but the shell rips across the ground so fast it pick's up the dirt and set's it back down so fast you can hardly see it happen, not to mention how loud it is! when I was told how this happened they where shooting a bus and for a split second the bus was completly in flame's.

in gneneral blowing stuff up from a long way's away. it can be used with only a few guy's risking their neck and allowing those few to have one huge kick.

bingo, okay, I only know how to operate my suit, but I'm going to give you a scenario:

You'r operating a howiter on a stratigic point, on a bunker imbeded in a hill, you've recieved news to evacuate and relocate ASAP with another unit, but soon you find that enemy tanks are closing from your right, well within your range, you have only a 1000m distance parting you, and within seconds they will be able to fire effectively.

rules:

you only have 8 rounds left, reloading is impossible, you must destroy, or be destroyed

there are 3 tanks, at the range you are at it would take about a ` chance to hit, howitzers arn't known for their accuracy

you have only 10 minutes from their speed, you can flee the Bunker and leave the position to enemy hands, destroy it with a timed bomb carefuly pre-placed for such a situation or fight.

give me the most resourceful option.

okay heer we go.

first evacuate the bunker and leave a couple guy's behind. send the howitzers of and get them out of there. the tank's start moving in and the two fox's are taking cover in some nearby tree's. we wait for a while until they get situated and have a base set up, then we let em roar. One roung hit's to far and take's out one of the tank's. 2 more go around missing. The third shell hit's dead center "Fire for Effect!!" we launch everything we have left at the camp flattening it. we get back to are bunker (now in ruin) and radio for more instruction.

will that work sir?

I would have gone with landmines and grenades, but they werent in the senario xp
