Doc finally stopped coughing and looked at Aphrodite. "So what I'm I feeling now?" He asked smiling slyly. He would deny anything the anthro said.
Fiorenza just sat back and watched.
Aphrodite shook her head. "I was getting to them." She said. She turned her attention to Nima and looked at the colors coming from her. "Well Nima is a bunch of different colors.... but I'm mainly seeing yellow which means she's happy possibly excited." She said turning to Doc, "Doc is a yellow-green which means he's sick.... and he's also got a bit of dark orange which means ..... he's going to try and deceive you all; probably with what I'm saying." She then looked at Tersi and tilted her head. "Tersi is...... pink which usually signifies romance or friendship but I've come to see it with those with feminine qualities. She's also red-orange which means she has a desire for something." She said turning to Wyatt, "Wyatt is...... gold and olive green which means he's got a taste for learning and is very peaceful."

Kuoni sighed, listening to Aphrodite and spotting the look on her son's face. "Doc Holliday! Deceiving? Honestly!"
Nima giggled and wagged her tail. "I'm a rainbow! Even though I'm only two colors in my fur." She yipped.
Tersi nodded proudly. She was feminine! She was going to be the essence of female when she grew up. How else could she become a star?
Wyatt tilted his head. "I do like learning things." He agreed softly.
So it wasn't just feelings the anthro saw. She could kinda see into someone's person too. Very interesting...

Doc grinned mischievously at his mom. "What me?! Aw.... how could you even think that mother?" He said shaking his head in mock sadness.
Aphrodite chuckled. "Well that's just how I interpret the colors I see. It may not be actually right but it's what I've learned those colors to mean." She said to remind the pups.

Kuoni shook her head and gave Doc a light playful nudge. "Oh, I know you. Sneaky puppy." She giggled, thinking he sounded like his grandfather, who enjoyed tricking others. Or at least attempting to trick them. Her smile turned sad again, but she quickly brushed it away.
Nima was still thinking about all the colors she was, when a thought popped into her head. "Momma! Maybe I could get grandpa to change my fur, then I could be all colors inside and out!" She barked happily, missing Kuoni's nervous glance at Fiorenza.
Tersi looked up at Nima. "He could change all our colors! Well, mine only temporarily, but who knows. Maybe I'll look better in pink." 'Not that it'd look bad on me, of course...'
"I bet you're right, Aphrodite. You should know."
Wyatt was eager to comment about the color changing idea, but the mention of grandpa made him curiously watch grandma Fiorenza. Would just the title 'grandpa' to anything, or did it need to be his name?

Doc fell over at his mom's nudge and laughed. "Mom! You push too hard." He joked. He was oblivious to anything else that was happening for he started to feel a really bad tickle in his throat.
Aphrodite shook her head at the pups then shrugged at Wyatt. "I guess." She said listening to Fiorenza to hear her reaction.
Fiorenza wasn't paying attention to the conversation and missed the word grandpa and change fur. She had her head tilted like she was listening intently to something. She then looked at the door while wagging her tail. "She's home."
Blue opened the door and walked in. "Hey you guys." She said juggling her bags, "You'll never believe what I got in town." She quickly walked over to the living area and set her bags down.

Relieved, Kuoni smiled down at Doc, then looked back up as the human came in. She wagged her tail and gave a small yip in greeting, the turned back to watching her pups.
Nima was wriggling excitedly. What a great idea she had! She bounced happily along the couch.
Tersi looked up with a start. It was the human who had not seen her earlier! Giving her fur a quick shake to fluff it cutely, she padded over (once the bags were set down) and pawed playfully against the human's leg, wagging her tail happily.
Wyatt tilted his head. Grandma seemed okay. He trotted over to sit next to her. It was nice having a grandma.

Lux sneaked out of the room and was slowly making her way towards the living area when Blue came in.
Fiorenza looked at Blue and smiled. "Welcome back." She said, "What did you get? Oh! Did you get some of those yummy treats again?!" She wagged her tail at the thought of that.
Aphrodite smiled. "Hello Blue. What did you get?" She asked politely. She chuckled when she heard Fiorenza's guess. "If you did get those treats they won't last long."
Blue shook her head and laughed. "I did get some but Flash will be bringing them here with the rest of the stuff." She said looking down at Tersi, "Hello there little one." She bent down and patted the pup making sure not to mess up her fur too much. "No I decided to pay the Moonlit Store a visit. They were having a sale and I found a really cute pup that I couldn't resist. Of course the pup wasn't actually there yet but they had a picture of the little guy." She said looking at Doc and winking.
Doc had started coughing when the human came in but by the time she was talking about what she had got his fit was over. He looked up at Blue and noticed her wink. Why was she doing that?

Kuoni stiffened. She saw that wink. She looked at the human, at Doc, at the human. Could it be...?
Nima: *randomly starts chasing after Tersi*
Tersi wagged her tail even more at the attention. Then she yelped as her sister suddenly started chasing her. "NIMA!" She whined as she ran.
Wyatt perked up after watching Doc cough. "Treats?" He looked at the human, then to Fiorenza. "Grandma? May I have a treat too?"

Fiorenza sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry Wyatt but we don't have any treats here right now. It's why my human went shopping." She said looking at Blue, "Well where's the pup and what's his name?"
Blue smiled when Fiorenza asked. "Well you see the pup wasn't at the store due to his mother not giving him up yet but it works out quite nicely. He's here already." She said looking at Doc still, "This little cutie is the newest addition to the pack." She picked Doc up smiling at him.
Doc was picked up stunned. He was the one his mother decided to give up?! His ears drooped as he thought of that. Mom must not want me since I'm sick all the time. Mom..... Mom doesn't love me! He thought starting to cry. "Why me mom!?" He cried burying his head into his new owner's arm, "You don't like me? Is it because I'm sick?!" With that he began coughing really badly and wasn't able to stop.
Lux hobbled over to Blue and Doc. "So he's the new member." She said grabbing Doc. She held him in her mouth for a second and held him upside down before setting him on the ground. She then straightened him out and soon his cough eased and disappeared. "There." She said looking up at Blue, "So why him?"

Kuoni stared up at the human, then winced. "Doc. No." She hopped over quickly to help Lux keep him up. "Babe. Remember I said earlier that it wasn't my choice? It's the owners who choose. And she didn't know you were sick when she chose. Don't think that at all. They have to choose as soon as the litter is born. It's a random choice. I love all of you dearly."
Her eyes teared up and her voice caught. Doc wouldn't be going back home with her. She bit her lip to fight the tears, then cast a glare at the human. "You should have let me tell him." She said irritably, though her sadness kept her otherwise snappy voice quiet.
Nima: *obliviously still chasing Tersi*
Tersi: *still being chased*
Wyatt nodded, slightly dissappointed. No treat today.
His head snapped around. Doc? Doc was staying here? How was he supposed to watch over him from so far away? He groaned softly. That meant he would be alone with his sisters too!
He padded over to the human and sniffed her. Who was this person taking his brother from him?

Fiorenza was instantly up at Kuoni's words. She walked over to her daughter and slapped her on the head. "Don't you talk to my owner like that!" She said angrily, "She didn't know that you haven't told them and you should have told them sooner!" She shook her head and walked over to Doc. "Don't worry Doc you get to hang out with me, Aphrodite, and your cousins and aunt."
Blue looked at Doc and then Kuoni shocked. "You didn't tell him?! That should have been one of the first things you told them." She said, "That way things like this don't happen." She then stood up and picked up the bags. She carried them to the kitchen.
Doc looked up at Lux and nodded his thanks. "You should have told me sooner!" He said running from the room. He ran off to the room that Lux had come from, Blue's room. He ran onto a random bed, which turned out to be Lux's.
Aphrodite sighed as she saw the hurt and betrayal colors in Doc. "Let him be for a bit Kuoni." She said knowing her friend would go rushing after him.

Kuoni spun and glared at Fiorenza. "What the hell?! I didn't say anything wrong!" She growled. "I was going to tell him! I just wanted him to meet you first since I didn't know where he'd be going! I didn't-" She started backing away, panicing slightly. Everyone seemed to be yelling at her. "I didn't think it'd be so soon. I wanted him to know you were here." Then Doc was running off. She never did anything right! She couldn't see straight, couldn't get enough air. "Outside- air-" She gasped.
"Aphrod- watch them- please-" She managed to squeeze out as she spun and ran for the door.
She reached the porch, but wobbled off the edge and curled into a ball where she had fallen. It wasn't easier breathing curled up, but at least there were no walls crushing her.
Nima finally noticed the trouble. "Huh? Oh, so it's Doc..." She said sadly. Her eyes widened as Kuoni paniced and ran outside. Folding her ears back, she padded slowly over to sit by Aphrodite's feet.
Tersi noticed too. "Doc? Really?" So she wasn't it! She watched in confusion as Kuoni ran off. She had been too preoccupied to listen to the conversation. "Where'd she go?"
Wyatt watched it all with wide eyes. Why was everyone snapping at mom? He frowned as Doc ran off and snuck after him.
He found Doc curled up on a bed, and walked over to sit next to it. "Proud of yourself?"

Doc looked up at Wyatt then curled up into a ball. "Leave me alone Earp." He said looking away from his brother.
Aphrodite sighed again at Kuoni's reaction to everything. She heard the two girls and looked down at them. "You're mom will be back. She just needs some time and fresh air." She said turning her head to Fiorenza, "Go talk to her."
Fiorenza stared after Doc for a moment before nodding. "I'm going." She said walking outside. She looked around and then spotted Kuoni on the ground. She hopped off the porch and looked at her daughter. "I'm sorry I yelled and hit you but you can't blame Blue for this. You could have told him sooner before you came here. It wouldn't have made a difference on his visit. In fact it probably would have made him appreciate it all the more." She said, "And you should watch your language around the pups. You don't want them to start swearing do you?"

Kuoni shook her head roughly, letting her body stretch slightly so that she could get some air. "I'm not blaming her... I'm blaming myself. I know... but- I'm scared." She wiped at her eyes. "...How did you let Kasumi go?"
Her eye twitched once. She wasn't up to being scolded about something like that right now, so she just tried to breath and waited for Fiorenza to answer. How do you trust someone else to raise your child. And Doc was sick too. She was going to have a fit when she had to leave.
Tersi tilted her head. "Is she really that sad? Seems like she should be happy to have just three kids now." She yelped when she was suddenly tackled angrily by Nima.
Nima sighed, then looked up at Aphrodite, suddenly feeling protective of her little brother. "You're going to watch over Doc, right? At least, keep an eye on him? There's a certain way he's supposed to sit when he coughs. Do you know how to do that?"
Hearing Tersi, she growled and leapt away, tackling her. "Don't be such a dork Tersi! Wouldn't you want momma to be sad if you were the one leaving?!"
He didn't know how, but Wyatt was pretty sure he could see how his mother was feeling and thinking right now. And it was his duty to make sure this didn't tear up the bond between mother and son, Kuoni and Doc Holliday. Something was broken between his grandparents. He didn't want anything more hurting his family.
Wyatt shook his head, letting the name go for once. "Seriously. Did you have to act like that. She did tell you it wasn't her choice. And think about how hard was for her to even think about letting you go." He looked back at the door. "Remember, she said she was going to tell us when we went back to the house. I think... she was just hoping for more time. How could she tell you when she could hardly tell it to herself?"

((Gah! I kept forgetting Lux!))
Doc ignored Wyatt, still pouting and being angry. "Why don't you go and take your lecture elsewhere. I don't want to hear it." He said after a minute, "You know I'm actually glad it was me. Now I don't have to listen to you anymore!"
Fiorenza looked at Kuoni and shook her head. "Of course you're scared. How do you think I was when I had you and your siblings? I was scared out of my mind." She said thinking about the question, "Well I talked with my owner and with..... your father about you guys. I picked one or rather my owner did since I couldn't and your father did the same. The left over pup was left in the hands of our owners. I knew if Kasumi was left with me I wouldn't be able to give her up so Blue and Corny took her away before I could do anything." She sighed remembering that day. She had just taken a nap with her kids sleeping around her and when she woke up one was gone. She knew then what had happened and cried.
Aphrodite nodded at Nima. "I'll look after him but he'll end up in the care of someone else here. Blue will assign one of the wolves to be his guardian." She said shaking her head at Tersi.
When Blue hadn't answered her question Lux had gone into the kitchen as well. She now hobbled out into the living area with a thoughtful expression.
