"If we need to we can find a way to move your family to safety. I'm sure we can find a way." Kat said, not actually sure, but she'd push to keep the promise.

Kat wrote down a number on a piece of paper, handing it over to Tidus. "Write your note, get things settled and packed, and give us a call, and we'll come pick you up. If you see anything particularly suspicious, get out of the house and call us from somewhere else."

Jarred followed them outside to the SUV, glaring at Sam as the younger man called 'shotgun'.
"So where to next?" He climbed in the back, buckling up. "You know any of the other kids then?"
"Yeah, we can go to that one clown's place. Ain't gunna be too keen on seein me, but whatever." Sam hopped in, leaning back.
"Yo girl, you comin or what? Ain't wanna sit in this car with only this dog to look at."

"I'm coming." Kat said, pulling away from the house and moving into a half jog to the SUV. She searched for the keys in her pocket while opening the door, somewhat glad she hadn't locked the SUV. "So where is this clown? And what dog are you talking about?"

Jarred paused, looking at him. "Seriously? Are you incapable of talking like a rational human being? We're kind of on the run from a murderous cabal. Is acting thug really that priority"
"It is if I wanna score the ladies." Sam winked at Kat, grinning.

Kat let out a laugh, "Score the ladies, hmm?" She started up the car and began heading out towards the east. "Remember when I was the freaky girl that you didn't want to get too close to?"
"You're a heartless tease, Sam. A heartless tease with a taste for older woman." She shook her head with a chuckled, amused, but knowing better than to take him seriously. She glanced in the mirror, looking back at Jarred. "You doing all right back there, dog?" She grinned, her smile sharp as she teased him.

Kat glanced over at Sam. "Buckle up. I may have agreed to let you be shot at, but I'm not going to get pulled over by a cop if you're not wearing your seatbelt." She moved her gaze back to the road, switching lanes. "So what exactly is it that you don't like about this kid?"
