Before Tai could even say go, all the students attacked him with the strongest abilities they had. In seconds, Tai had created a thick and jagged shell of ice around him. Every attack done to him was rendered entirely useless, not a single attack doing more damage than a 1 milimeter hole from a students extremely high pressured water attack. He quickly shattered the barrier to avoid raising his chances of getting hypothermia from being inside the barrier too long. "That, my students, is the ice barrier at it's finest. And the reason it was able to stand everything you all hit it with, was for one simple reason..." He quickly marched back down to the board and wrote a word. "...thickness. Thickness is the key to your defensive techniques. Now I want you all to-" He couldn't finish his sentence as he watched a student, one of the younger ones in his class, walk out... crying. "On second thought, have a few minutes to yourselves."

He put his marker down and made his way outside to the girl. He gently closed the door and kneeled down to try and be on a better eye level with her. She was young... twelve years old. He remembered seeing the name of a new arrival at the school, a girl nammed Morrigan. "Hey, are you feeling alright?" Well, it was obvious she wasn't... she was crying. He also knew her little story, she had been treated badly... abused by her father, neglected by her mother. However, his class was heavy on participation, he couldn't assign book work for something that required human input and practice.

Riku looked at his success. It took him less than the expected time, and he marvelled at how well they were crafted. And Mandy's snow chest had managed to defy the laws of physics... well, proprotions had to be correct or else the Black Knights would be made fun of. Each of the snow characters seemed to express a major part of their character, even his own. Ken was standing with a small space from the group, scowling, and Riku's self had on a more carefree look and was laughing. That sort of thing.

When he heard the sound of laughter, he turned around to see three, no, four Court members looking at their own creation. He smiled and waved at them, sniffling slightly. "Hey Lunaru! Misa! Astin! New guy!" He jogged over towards them lightly. "What are you all doing out here?"

As Riku jogged towards the group of four, Misa's chiming giggles subsided and she acknowledged the Black Knight Rook with a curt bob of her head and a small smile as she brushed a stray strand of her raven hair out of face and tucked it behind her ear.

" We're here admiring Lunaru's tribute to the Court." The Ace replied before peering back at Riku's sculpture. " And it seems you made a tribute as well, for the Black Knights, and I must say you've done a very accurate job on that one." She said waving a small hand at the Mandy sculpture.

Lunaru's face turned a bit red from the cold and looking at the mandy sculpture. Amazed at the fact that they even stayed on, Lunaru began to bug out laughing. As Riku ran over, he began to control himself better. He looked over at Hayden, then back over at his sculpture, then at Riku's. He frowned. He was happy that they enjoyed it, but he wasnt looking for competition, however it wouldnt be quite as fun without it. Lunaru smiled at Riku.

"I know the proportions on Mandy's...um, if you could call that a chest, are right but, dont you think everyone already see's that enough!" he said stammering a bit before he began to giggle to himself.

He was slightly disappointed by the fact that the queen and the king couldnt see it. He wanted everyone to see it but mainly the upper court members of who the sculpture was of. However, everytime he looked at it, it seemed incomplete.

"We need a Jack. My work is incomplete without one." He said with a sense of lacking riding the air. Lunaru was very happy that it was liked but couldnt be completely happy himself until it was complete as well. The biggest problem with this was, how and when would he find out who the new Jack was and even worse he didnt know how long it could take until they were picked. He sighed again looking back over at Riku.

"Wanna talk about sculpture ideas? I got one that will knock everyone dead!" He said happily, choosing to smack a grin on his own face.

Morrigan looked up at the man when he came outside, she didn't want to tell him that Mandy scared her with her comment about hurting those who hurt her.. She didn't think anyone besides officials should know about that. The King, the Queen, teachers and staff.

Slowly she nodded as she pulled herself together. She rubbed her eyes as she looked at the water defence teacher. Pulling her notebook back out, she wrote. "I'm okay.. Mandy scared me.. " she wrote in her elegant pen. Sighing as she then wrote again. "is there anything I can do to makeup this assignment?"

Trey walked out the class as soon as the bell sounded, thankful to be away from that witch's watchful eye. Maybe now she could get a little sleep, seeing she stayed up almost all night talking to Ken. He actually said yes.. she said to herself with a smile as she walked with a slow pace down the hall.

She could see outside, see the court surrounding Riku. What are you doing this time, Riku? she groaned, not seeing that it was a friendly conversation, and thinking the worse came to worse, she walked outside with the rest of the group.

"What goin o- Whoa, Riku did you do this?" she said as she stopped in her tracks as she looked from the sculptures of the Court then the Black Knights. Then she came to the one of Mandy, Wow, he sure pays attention.. Doesn't he.. she said to herself as she looked over each face, seeing he got their characters in the pose of each individual sculpture.

Trey then looked to the four Court members, one she wasn't worried about, Lunaru. But the other three, they proceeded some threat to her sometimes, never having to deal with a Knight unless it is to try and get them into trouble, or attempt to stir it up. She looked Hayden, that was a face she never seen before.. He looked a little like Astin too..

"Astin, I didn't know you had a brother." she said flatly as she then turned her gaze back to the statues, it was the truth, she never heard anything about the joker having a brother, younger or older. Then again, maybe she just didn't listen very well.

Tai simply sighed. "Unfortunatly, my class is heavily dependent on participation, Morrigan. If you don't feel ready to attend class right now, I understand completely." He explained, in as soothing voice as he could pull off. This was something else they should've covered in college classes also. They didn't prepare him for teaching, they prepared him for perfect scenarios... "And if you choose not to participate now, if you could show up after school today, I'll gladly show you everything we learned today." His hand twitched for a second as he thought about patting her shoulder, but decided against it. She'd had bad experiences before, and the last thing she needed was a reason to start distrusting the school. "Sound fair, Morrigan?"

Hayden shivered a bit in the cold, his powers weakened by the cold air. His attention was focused on the Black Knight, he wasn't looking at his sister so he couldn't be that bad. And he had a sense of humor. Holding out his hand he smiled, "Nice work, I'm Hayden Faustine, appartenly I'm the Jack in the whole Court thing."

Astin laughed with Misa about the snow statue of the big busted girl, though inside she wanted to watch in crumble as she sent shock waves in the earth towards it. But, she wasn't about to start something not while Riku was being friendly. Despite the chill in the air she smiled as being outside in the open air made her happy. She could feel the grass beneath the blanket of fresh snow. It was so peaceful in the winter just like it was during the spring, though with temperature differences of course. Her head snapped towards Hayden as he mentioned his position in the Court, of course he would be higher ranked than her. She bit her lip, feeling like school would no longer be escape from feelings of being inadequate in the eyes of superiors. Her attention was turned away from her thoughts as the Black Queen came upon there little group. She personally didn't mind Trey as they were quite similar with how the Earth affected them and she had a few classes with her since they were both Earth elementals. Sighing she stepped back closer to Trey, "Yea, were twins, though Hayden's was until recently at an all boys school."

Morrigan smiled and nodded she rose to a stand, she was rather short for her age, standing to be the size of most 8 year old. She politely bowed to the teacher and gave him one last note.

"I'll see you after school then, teacher Tia.. " she was quick to walk down the hall, not wanting to have to pretend not to be afraid around the male teacher anymore. God why did they make her come to this school? Just because her powers needed development, why couldn't she have a all female day? Where no males would have to talk to her, or see her. Men scared the girl more then really busty women who said obscure things that indicated they knew the girls case.

She walked down the hall, looking at her schedule for her next class, smiling as the teacher would be female, and it required more listening the talking, so she would have a chance to regain herself before the class after that. Gym..

Trey let a laugh pass her lips as she mentioned the all boys school. It wasn't that she was laughing at Astin, but the fact of a all gender anything she found funny. Astin was a twin.. Now she found that interesting, but did they share the same element? She hadn't had the chance to check student updates yet, so his arrival was new to her, and a surprise

"Ah. So I see, do you two share alot of the same things? I mean like thoughts, and powers and such?" her question was obviously a attempt at friendly chatter, plus she was interested, she never met twins before who both had powers. "He's the.. Jack?" she frowned at this, surely when the spot came open, she thought Astin would have it, in her mind Astin was qualified for it, more then even. She was a excellent fighter, and student..

Riku idly sat by and watched the conversation take place, he decided he'd sort of... slip away unnoticed and free roam the school. He whispered into the wind and directed it to Lunaru's ear, the wind literally spoke to Lunaru as it said, "I'd love to, but, I got other things I should be doing. I need to attend at least one class a day if I want to go to the Winter Ball."

Of course, Riku paced down the hall, hands laced behind his head. He honestly wondered who Aurelia was going with. Someone of her caliber and ranking probably had people begging for a chance. Of course, Riku would probably ask her, but, she was a Court member. Rumors would literally fly if a Court and Knight member walked in, arms linked together... That in itself made him want to ask, maybe she'd say yes...

Nah, who was he kidding. She was probably already arranged with some rich kid trying to work his way into the Upper Court for next year. Riku didn't even bother to stop by his locker, and went straight to the classroom instead.

Tai watched Morrigan leave, and stood outside his door as the other students left also. And darn it, there went his entire Junior and Senior students... the only ones eligible enough to actually work on making the ice roses. He sighed as he walked over towards his desk and smashed his head into it. He had just arranged another after school thing. How was he going to end up doing all of it? It was just like his freshman year here... that was something else.

Mandy looked at Tai as he left the room. “Yeah right, like I’ll let him have all the fun.” As she spoke she threw a large ball of ice at a kids face. With that rushed out into the hall and grabbed Tai by the arm. “Sir, one of the students is bleeding, bad, very bad. I think they might have a broken nose!” Shoving Tai into the room Mandy looked down at Morrigan.

“I am sorry if I upset you. I didn’t mean to, do you want to tell me what is wrong?” As she spoke she sat on the ground beside Morrigan and held up the drawing. “If you want I can turn this into an ice sculpture, it wont last that long but...”

Astin tilted her head back towards Trey talking quietly so that only she could hear, "Not really we weren't really together much when we were kids since I was sick all the time and he was the shinning star, though he always managed to be there when I really needed him, so maybe we do have some sort of a mind connection. He's very protective and no he plays with fire."
Her eyes shot downwards as Trey brought up the Jack thing, she bit her lip turning her back on the group and faced Trey, "I guess so."
She began to walk back to the school, she had classes after all, but first she had to stop by Tai's classroom. As she walked down the halls she frowned, it seemed nothing had changed since they were younger. Hayden would always be better than her, but as she walked by a window and her eyes went to a tall oak tree with its bare limbs looking inviting . Passing the window she walked came to Tai's classroom and laughed a bit as she saw his face against the desk, she knocked lightly on the door frame, leaning against it.

Morrigan stopped on her way to her next class, looking back she saw Mandy pushing the teacher back in the class. She stopped where she was, and when Mandy sat beside her Morrigan would look down at her with a cold glare, how dare she come out to her now, after how she made her feel, made her cry in front of her peers.

But then Mandy said something about her drawing.. It would be so beautiful to see it some what lifelike.. She sighed as she sat down beside the girl, pulling her notebook back out she wrote. "I'm not finished with it yet, I still have to paint it. I'm going to paint it on a canvas I have in my room.." she handed the paper to the girl, pulling the teddy out of her book bag, she cuddled it for support.

Trey sighed as she watched Astin walk into the school. To be honest, she would consider Astin a friend quicker then her enemy, they had alot in common. They most likely would of been friends if she didn't turn down the Courts offer. She looked back at the group, watching as they talked. Then she realized Riku had slipped away. Sneaky little rook. she thought as she shook her head.

She glimpsed closer to the sculptures, pausing at Ken's, she couldn't help but give a slight giggle. Riku did do a good job at captivating the two groups. She sighed as she nodded to the rest of the court, making her way to the school. They had no need for the Knight, and not only that, but they would most likely start talking about preparations about the Winter Ball, and she couldn't help them there, besides keeping flowers from wilting she was useless as far as ice and what not.
