Kirai turned away from him and walked over to the window, looking out. "One last thing." She spoke quickly. "Can you... find a picture, either of the mother or of Rosette?"

Kirai turned around and walked over behind him. Letting out another sigh, she could think of no other way to say this... Finding this out, her usual grace basically died in how she would say this. "An interesting thing happened today.... Riley approached me in the black rose forest, basically with the bait of that she knew about my past, who I was before I awoke as 'Kirai', living my life from a young girl into teenage years in Vaclav..." She raised her black-lace covered hand and pointed at the picture, first at a man whose image was blurry, standing in the background. "That was my caretaker in Vaclav..." She moved her finger towards the mother. "That was my mother..." Kirai then moved her hand away and quickly took a step back from him, covering her face, her voice sounding distraught. "If I've said that much, you can figure out the rest."

"Even though it's legalized incest?" Kirai asked bluntly. How long had it been since she had had that tone of voice and been that blunt about something....? A long, long time.

"No, I would not let that stop me." She smiled, although, finding out who she was.... Kirai felt like she had just swallowed boiling water. "Even if it was illegal... do I seem like the kind of person who would follow the laws rather than have my own way?"

Kirai put her arms around him, resting her head on his chest. "Oh no... I'm afraid I still have a strong tendency towards anarchy." She chuckled. "Otherwise, I would have to be executed a hundred times over. Under anarchy, I simply need to concern myself with making sure no one stronger than me wishes me dead."

Kirai gave a guilty smile. She still could not feel that much, but... What she felt for Edward surely was the most she could muster. "I love you too, Edward." Closing her eyes and tilting her head down a bit, her expression grew a bit more serious. Opening her eyes, she said, "...I believe I'll go by 'Rosette' from this day on. Kirai already lives and has a husband elsewhere, a man I use to know... I can't connect myself to being the same person as her anymore, despite the fact that we are two thorns on the same rose. If I connect myself with her, I'll connect myself to him... Because Kirai can not live without her Avarice. However, I am dead, and I choose no longer to be Kirai."

Rosette was a little shocked at first, but then, for the first time, managed to kiss him back without feeling guilt. Why someone would feel guilt about kissing a man who had been more devoted and supportive of you than your own husband after what he did, she never understood. As for Salazar, as far as she knew, the part of him that had been so kind and caring, that she had grown fond of, had died... That was something that could never be resurrected, so she had accepted this painful reality early on, so that such thoughts would not bug her now.
