She laughed appreciatively. "Nope." It was one of her favorite things about him. He always gave in gracefully and didn't pout like some of the men she'd dated once upon a time. "Good answer, Ty. I'm especially impressed with the way you came up with it so quickly. Might have to give you something later." Nibbling on his ear again with a laugh. "How long are you going to let them play?"
She closed her eyes as he attempted to soothe her unspoken pain. Another reason she loved him the way she did. "I honestly don't know. I cried when I thought she was but more about the fact that I loved her so much and she didn't even deserve it. I put up with years of abuse and for absolutely no reason at all. She never had a claim over me. But then I think about my...her brother who is now crippled and my heart just hurts."

"Oh I get rewards now for good answers? Usually I'm the one who gives those out. Won't that be a nice change of pace." Chuckling lightly all the same, "Once you're as old as I am you remember your answers quickly all the same." Reaching a hand back to trace his fingertips back across her jaw and up her ear. "Till they complain."
"Why would her brother concern you? He hurt you just as much." And he knew it too, she couldn't deny that truth at all. Though this was Kaelin he was dealing with and she was often more deep than she was given credit for at any given time.

"That is a nice change which you usually don't like very much." She leaned forward so she could rest her chin against his shoulder and watch the two playing happily in the water. "That could be a while. Unless she looks back and then she'll be out of the water so fast." Catching his hand with a chuckle, she shook her head. "I think you're trying to make me do things I shouldn't."
"I know that and I know it sounds really silly, but I just can't help thinking about him all alone in that house. He's crippled now and I have this feeling he might understand things a bit more now. She put him through hell, Khai. I'm not saying we should take him in ourselves but maybe we could find someone to take care of him?"

"Or until they discover something they don't like in the water. The possibilites are endless." Chuckling as he gave an innocent shurg when she grabbed his hand. "Oh, are you that kind of girl? Where your ears are your undoing?"
"That can always be fixed with the right kind of healer. Or we can do something else with him. I personally think he should share her fate...but that's not up to me now."

"Let's hope they don't. I'm rather enjoying time without the kids." She twisted and then poked him in the side. "That's woman to you, Tyyrael. And I happen to know where you're sensitive as well so I strongly caution you. I will exploit my knowledge just as you will yours."
"I know your father is responsible for it. I'm not judging him or your family, but I don't like it, Malikhai. What is her fate exactly? You aren't even sure if she's dead or not. What did you do?"

"Woman, excuse me. But I'm taking that as a yes." Giving her a mischevious grin on that note but raising an eyebrow in more curious than skeptical manner to her. "I'll keep that in mind, least I catch myself off guard and at your mercy. That would reflect badly on me."
"No, I'm not sure. I'm just making sure she gets a taste of all the pain that she gave you over the years, condensed into a few days." Shrugging lightly as it was better not to think heavily on it.

"I didn't say that, Ty." Giggling like a schoolgirl even though she'd just protested that she was, in fact, a woman. She just couldn't help it, he did this to her every time. "For what I have in mind, Master Tyyrael, not only will you be on your knees begging for mercy but you will be doing in the privacy of your bedroom. Only I get to see you suffer so."
It sounded like a decent punishment. Kaelin didn't have to think very far back to remember times when she'd been bleeding and broken on the floor and left. The healer had only been permitted to heal those injuries that weren't life or death. The rest were to heal on their own. It really was a wonder she only had one scar. Her fingers unconsciously sought out the bumpy skin on the inside of her elbow and brushed it, her eyes flashing with pain before she nodded. "He deserves to suffer the same fate. I don't care anymore if they live or die."

He sighed, "Never going to win." Shaking his head about it before raising his eyebrows raise in indeed intrigued manner. "Sounds ominous, I think." There were so many ways to read that remark and he wasn't sure how he wanted to take it exactly. "We will see who gets the better of who, I'm sure."
"Good." Pressing a kiss to her hair then. It was good for her to accept how things needed to be and what she was owed. He had learned a long time ago that the world wasn't fair and that you had to make it fair.

"And it's better that you accept that now." She chuckled and shifted to the side of him, leaning against him instead of being behind him where they both could watch the children and enjoy the silence together. Suddenly a shriek split the air and Trystyn came running in, yelling about Krymsyn. Lhia had seen her plop down and was up in a flash. "Ty! You go get her. I'll get out the first aid kit." Because with her luck it was going to involve blood or poison of some sorts.
He seemed to be okay with all of it but she was still trying to come to terms with many things, the fact that they were in Andal now at the top of that rather long list. Taking his silent comfort, she wrapped her arms around him tightly and remained that way for a while. "I'm sorry, Malikhai."

"And cue the complaining." Getting himself up he took a few seconds to calm Trys of his screaming and carrying on before wading back out into the water to get Krymsyn....which a rather large shell had hold of her hand. Or rather the crab within the shell did. Picking her up he held the shell and crab in his hand and Krymsyn supported by the other arm. "You found a very large hermit crab. He's cranky however."
A little runic jolt got the thing to let her go and he plunked it back into the water, taking Trys hand in his now free one and bringing both children back to the shore and over to Lhia, setting them down on the sand.
"It's fine." Whatever it is she was worry for wasn't really important right now, just that things were alright...at least in part as they were far from alright. His mother hadn't handled a planar jump so well what with already being bodily stressed beore it. Focusing on Kaelin at least kept his mind straight.

Lhia was ready for both children and waited while Krymsyn was set down on the towel. "Where does it hurt?"
The child sniffled, her large red eyes filled with tears as she lifted her left hand which was already swelling from the evil pinch of a crab's claw. "Can you make it better?"
Wincing internally at the sight of her hand, she nodded. "I can. It might hurt a bit before I can though." She pulled out a jar of ointment, uncapping it and rubbed a liberal amount of the child's hand, pointedly ignoring the whimpers. "I know it hurts. But it would hurt a lot more if I didn't use this." Finished with her hand, Lhia wrapped a blanket around her shoulders and gently pulled the child onto her lap to soothe her. "I think we're finished with the beach for the day."
Trys was still holding onto Ty's hand and he looked rather worriedly at the shaking, crying bundle in Lhia's arms. "Is she gonna be okay?"
No, it really wasn't. She wasn't sure how things would have turned out if she hadn't shown up at her old house but he probably wouldn't have been stabbed. "Do you want to go see your mother? I'll come with you if you like..."

He smiled at the motherly care that Lhia was always able to exhibit and gave Trys a nod as the boy was worried. "She'll be fine. That crab is harmless...he was just scared when you all picked up his home." Nodding to Lhia's suggestion he scribed a rune to take care of their things and picked up the boy. "I think so too. We can learn swimming another day."
"No, she has enough people with her right now. She doesn't want to be crowded or anything. I can feel she's alright...just stressed out right now with everything happening so fast."

"And by the size of the pinch, I'm guessing he was a rather large one as well." She lifted the bundled child into her arms, keeping the towel wrapped tightly around her as Krymsyn continued to sob quietly. She would have stopped her but knew the sun and water had worn the child out and she was cranky and likely to cry herself right into reverie.
Kaelin nodded, then released him and tugged him over to the bed. Plopping on it, she patted the spot beside her and glanced up at him. "Then you can tell me what's going on back home. All I know is you disappeared and then I was being told we were all coming to Andal. Isle noticed something was going on when I wanted to come find you."

He led them home, got children changed and put them both in bed. One was tuckered out by the tiem they got there and the other was quick to follow. That gave Lhia and Ty the opportunity to change their clothes at the very least so they weren't soaked and sandy. "Despite crab incidents, I'd say it was a worthwhile trip down there."
Sitting on the edge of the bed with her he gave a sigh. "Don't even start there...I barely have a clue. Something about someone having a problem with Galesen and it's just too dangerous for the rest of us to be around with the magic flying around and what not."

She helped him, moving about the room quietly and efficiently just as she had many times for Vale and would if she had her own little one. She spent a bit of extra time with Krymsyn, soothing her and giving her the motherly presence the child had never had when she'd hurt herself before. Maybe that would stop this ridiculous need to compete. And then again, maybe not.
Rejoining Ty in his bedroom, she nodded. "Neither of them are afraid of water anymore, though Krymsyn might be a little more careful about picking up shells. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life..."
She reached up and gently began to work his shoulders with his fingers. It was so awful when he looked that way and she was instantly willing to do anything in the world she could to help. "But it has nothing to do with us? And you weren't allowed to help either." She remembered hearing that much. Both of the older boys had been jerked out of the situation and sent to gather the younger ones and head to Andal. "Which means we don't have a clue how long we're going to be here."
