Lance smirked and kissed Mallory's forehead. "If things go our way, I may not have to leave again." He said with a optimistic tone. He did not want to upset the boy again. He put and hand to the boy's head, and brushed his hair out of his eyes. "I care for you deeply Mallory. And I will do my best to keep you safe and happy." He peeked the boys cheek before looking up at Alphonse. The man did not hold the expression that Mallory had been looking for. "May I ask what you are thinking?" Lance asked and cocked his head to one side. The man almost looked annoyed! Lance had expected relief, or even boredom; But Annoyed?! It was to much. "Do share your feelings." He kept his own thoughts inward not wanting Mallory to see how it made him feel.

Lillith followed Alexia through the streets. Even if the woman was determined to kill Asher, Lillith wasn't going to let her get killed in the process. "Alexia... wait..." Lillith said, trying hard to keep up. "Have... peace-friends on this side of town... they can help..."

Alphonse gives a wry smile at Lance's comments. "Sometime Lance, if you truly wish to hear what rattles in my mind, you and I should chat without the children about. In the meantime, all that you really need to know is I am glad you have come." He looks pointedly at Mallory who is leaned against Lance and feigning a disinterest in the conversation. "We share an interest in Mallory's safety and happiness, so I assure you, you are one of my favorite people at this moment." The little... issue of Mallory's feelings, well... it was out of his hands, really.
Mallory had not missed his father's pitying look and he had no doubt of its meaning, but he did not care. He knew what he felt. It was even more awkward than he had ever imagined it would be to confess it, especially as Lance understandably did not claim the same feelings. And yet, Lance's reply still lifted his heart and made him happy. At least, as happy as he could be with Alexia and Franky still gone. So Mallory smiled, ignored the embarrassed color in his cheeks and found himself somewhat glad for the distracting discourse between Lance and his father.

Lance sighed he was annoyed the he would have to hold back his tongue once more from lashing Alphonse with his thoughts. "Mallory's feelings are extraordinary." Lance said and hugged the boy. "When I was his age I had a shell as think as a turtle's clamped around me. And I'm just glade that he feels free to express himself so openly. “He stated and looked back to Mallory. "They are not an issue that needs to be dealt with, but a gift that needs to be nurtured." He hugged the boy warmly, and rested his head on his shoulder.

(if you want to kill another character you and the one who plays the other character must agree upon it and forward me a pm saying that both have agreed.)
(However, I know that eyesofanangel667 does NOT want Asher to be killed off, you may even ask her yourself)

I had no time to respond to Lance's questions, within seconds he had left and Al had taken his place. Was he right though? What if Dawn did see me now? I didn't know what to do, or who to help. My thoughts spin rapidly through my head. The buildings around me began to fade gradually and spin. I began to feel my knees weaken and no longer could they hold me up. I had collapsed. I pressed my hands against the sides of my head as if trying to stop my own thoughts. But they didn't stop. My eyes closed tightly as I feared what I would see if I was to open them

"Lance, my dear boy, you may argue with me at length to your heart's content. After we find a safe place for Dawn and Mallory to rest their heads. Mallory's nerves are shot; he is not used to this much turmoil. And this poor girl has had not a moment's rest between being kidnapped and drained of blood. Do you think perhaps we can put aside our differences in opinion long enough to see to their safety and well being?" Alphonse was not fond of just hanging around in the tunnel until more enemies found them. Why Lance seemed so content to, he could not imagine.
Mallory lightly chews his lower lip. He had not intended to start them to arguing. And yet, he did not know what he could say to either of them that would smooth it over. He certainly did not wish them to argue over him.

Lance nodded and thought a moment. "There's a safe house not to far." He said and stood carrying Mallory in his arms. He walked down the tunnel and took the first right. a half a city block more and he opened a hidden door in the wall. inside was a dimly lit set of rooms much like that of a nice hotel. " This should do." He said and stepped inside. He waited for Alphonse and the girl to come inside as well before closing the door tightly. He carried Mallory into the next room which held two warm pre-made beds. He set the boy on one of the beds and waited for the boy's father to say something.

Mallory clings to Lance a moment longer and tentatively kissed him. Finally releasing Lance, Mallory lay down with a smile and closed his eyes. He did not think he would sleep, but he was grateful for the chance to rest.
Alphonse ushered Dawn into one of the rooms, then waited for Lance to return. "Tres bon, monsieur. And now, allow me to be as blunt as I may. One cannot love without inviting pain. We both know that is true. I can only wonder what will become of Mallory when another catches your eye. I suppose it makes you angry I would say this? It is nothing personal. I just wish Mallory could sleep with you and get you out of his system. Alas, he is not that sort of person and so I worry for him and his tender feelings. Can you really blame me?" Alphonse leaned against a wall, making himself comfortable. He expected that Lance could indeed blame him extensively. He may as well settle in for the upcoming speech. ((dragonhealer: Not sure if you saw, but Lillith followed Alexia))

Franky walked up to the city, and thought to Mallory. whats going on, bud? Anything I should know about? He hadn't talked to the boy in awhile, anything could happen in such a short time.

Lance stared at Alphonse for a moment horrified. "Yes I can Blame you." he said, being careful to keep his voice down and not yell. "How dare you talk so, so...First, you don't have to work about another catching my eye, I do believe you know of my life style already. Mallory will always have a place there if he so chooses. Second, why do you want me out of his life? I adore that boy, and I'd do anything to keep him out of harms way." He paced in a tight line, running a hand though his hair, and pulling the braid loose. “Why do you even care if he and I have a relation ship? He is old enough to care for himself romantically, You should just but out and let him grow.” He stopped and glared at the man.

"Franky!" Mallory whispered aloud, surprised and pleased to hear from his friend. How are you? You are unhurt, I pray. I am well, but... Alexia and Lillith have gone. They chase that fellow Asher.{/i]
"Your lifestyle? Should I?" Alphonse was genuinely confused by that. "Calm down, Lance. I have no intention of interfering. You asked me what I thought and I've told you. I dare say what I do because I've every right to be concerned until I keel over and die. He is my son." Alphonse watches Lance pace with a bemused expression on his face. This one did get himself so worked up. Of course, so did Mallory.

Lance sighed he plopped down on the couch behind him and covered his face for a moment. "I have very deep feelings for Mallory, please do not underestimate them." he kicked off his shoes and folded his feet underneath his legs. "If anything I fear that Mallory doe not feel as strongly about me as I do about him." He glance up at the man. "He has never loved, he does no know what he is getting himself into." He unbuttoned his shirt and let it hag open, exposing his chest to the heated air.

“No, he truly does not know what he has gotten himself into. My boy is a dreamer, an idealist. I think he is love with the idea of being in love. Honestly, it would not have mattered who you were or what sort of lifestyle you had. It is Mallory that makes me worry. Someday he will learn love is not all he dreams it to be, and that will be painful for him." Then Alphonse sighs and shrugs. "Or this old cynic is wrong and he will prove it. You do not know how I hope for this alternative. But hope does not trump experience. I have known many fools 'in love' and few who remained that way."
