Sairen_Songweaver Ember's full lips formed themselves into a tight smile as her head nodded once. "Yes...that's right, I'm with her." She shook herself internally, her body heat returning to just above average temperature and placed a warm hand on top of the stranger's arm as she gave the bouncer a genuinely triumphant grin. She turned to her savior in stilettos. "I was beginning to think I was on my own tonight, where have you been?"You must be my lucky charm, she thought and fallowed her escort into the wildest jungle of New Berlin. { - Kendal - }
"Aww, I'm sorry there Sugar Puss," Kendal coos in return, "I'd think you'd know well enough by now to just expect me to be fashionably late." Glancing at the bouncer, her lips still spread ear to ear, "Isn't that right Michael? If I say an hour, it means an hour and a half. If I say 'shortly' it means 'eventually'... "
The bouncer levels Kendal with a stare comprised of a healthy mixture of exasperation and vague amusement. He isn't buying her story, but he also seems to know better than to get in her way once she's set her mind to something. They share a long look between them, Kendal's impish smile almost a challenge for him to call her bluff. With a faint chuckle and a sigh, the large man steps aside and opens up the door for the two ladies to pass. Beaming triumphantly, the feline tugs gently on her new companion's arm. "Come on doll, I'm sure they're waiting for us inside."
Stepping past the threshold into the club was nothing short of transformational. The steady beat of the music from the dance floor assaulted their senses immediately, sending a wave of energy to ripple through their veins. Kendal pauses for a brief moment to drink it in. Beautiful people surrounding them, hailing from all walks of life.. and otherwise.. The sights, the sounds, the feel. In her mind, there was no measure of comparison. This would always be home.
Motioning towards the bar with a leather gloved hand, she flashes a smile to her partner. "What say you to a drink and maybe some proper introductions?" she asks playfully.

Ember laughs, throwing a crooked grin and a wink of her own at the bouncer as he shook his head and turned to speak with the next person in line. As they step over the threshold, she can't help but pause at the same moment her companion does, her eyes and ears hungrily drinking in the sights and sounds of The Muse. It was more then she had hoped it would be, strange, beautiful and delectably dangerous feeling. Her honey colored eyes drifted over bodies of dancers and moved upward to marvel at the exotic creatures contained within the cages high above the crowd. She could feel the hypnotic beat tempting her toward the dance floor, a longing to let go and allow herself some moment of peace and freedom from the last few nights. Later, she thought. She sighs and briefly closes her eyes, her body relaxing a bit more, her mind releasing most of the tension that had been building outside. "This is so amazing..." She murmurs in a hushed tone, her head turning at the sound of Kendal's voice. She gave a lopsided grin and gently bumped her hip into Kendal's, just now noticing the incredible bar ahead of them. "I would love that, I think I owe you about twenty drinks for helping me out of that mess, lead the way kitty cat."

~…Kali…~ I want a girl with lips like morphine!Kali gave the bartender an impish grin, seeing the small hint of recognition in her eyes. She felt more relaxed knowing that people knew she wasn't here for trouble, unlike her 'date,' yesterday. She chuckled a bit, nodding when her schedule was explained. That sounded very fitting for the flirty feline she had met yesterday, doing things her own way, but Kali would bet the owner didn't care because of all the business that someone with legs like that would bring. "Sounds good to me, I'll have a gin and coke..." Kali playfully crooned to the lady behind the counter.

"Don't worry about it Sugar," Kendal purrs, pleased by the grateful attitude. Scanning the main bar counter, a coy smile traces over her lips as she spots a particular inhabitant seated near Thorne. Unlacing her arm from the new girl, Kendal motions for her to follow as she cuts her way through the crowd towards the two familiar faces.
Coming up upon them, Kendal slithers beside Kali and leans to rest her weight against her elbows on the counter. "Hey there Sexy," she teases the redhead suggestively. "You come to make good on that drink?" Her tail swishes softly from beneath her skirts as she rises back up and stretches out, then begins to pry her riding gloves from her hands. "You might have to wait your turn. I've already got a round coming from..." She pauses, glancing back to the new girl who followed her in. "What's your name darlin?"

~Ember~
Ember fallows Kendal's attractive feline swagger easily through the throng of people, her curious eyes drawn to the swish of her tail. She bites her lip to hold an almost hysterical giggle back behind her lips, an honest to gods tale! I must be dreaming, she thinks. Her steps are confident and quick as they make their way to the opulent looking bar, her gaze settles briefly on Kali. Kendal's Girlfriend? She wonders to herself giving the other girl a warm smile and perching easily on an empty stool next to her. She rests her elbows on the edge of the bar counter, glancing down to marvel at the beautiful patterns of the marble before turning to look up at her new feline friend. "Oh, hell, I'm sorry." She laughs, feeling a little embarrassed at her lack of formality and holds out a glove covered hand to Kendal, "I'm Ember." Her handshake is strong and very warm, the glove fitting to her like a second skin up to about the middle of her upper arm, where it tapers to hang gently off her shoulder connected with the same velvet lace as the rest of her upper attire. Maybe I'll even be able to take these things off in here, maybe someone will be able to tell me what those symbols mean...if I'm lucky. She brightens her smile a notch higher to hide the moment of uncertainly that thrums through her heart.

«<{ Thorne }>»
Glancing to see how busy the other 'keepers were, Thorne offered a faint nod to Kali, unhooking the long heels of her boots from the rung of the stool. Sliding deftly from her perch, she made her datapad vanish into a concealed pocket as she slithered behind the bar, deftly snagging a glass. Plopping it to the well-polished surface of the bar, she half-knelt for a moment, right hand snaring the well-bottle of gin, left hand a can of cola. Demonstrating a trick recently learned, left middle finger popped the can open far enough to pour, and the glass was filled a good two-thirds of the way up with the caramel-coloured drink, then topped off with a hefty saturation of the liquor.
Setting the glass before Kali, and making the gin-bottle vanish once more, Thorne offered a warm smile to her, and a bit of a nod to the recently-arrived Kendal, and the red-head in tow beside her.

~…Kali…~ I want a girl with lips like morphine!Kali looked Ember over, giving a low croon of appreciation. She could see why Kendal latched this one, she was a cutie too. And Ember...nice name, fits her. A small sizzle that could still burn you. Lazily she tossed Kendal a sexy little grin over her shoulder. "Whenever you're ready, sexy, I'm on it," She crooned. Kali then leaned over, and pecked Throne's cheek. "Thanks doll~" Her sultry voice whispered.

{ - Kendal - }
Smirking faintly to herself, the feline watches Kali plant a light kiss on Thorne's skin. "Better not let Marie see you pulling in tips like that," she teases the make-shift bartender, "Or anyone else for that matter. Only I am allowed tips via random acts of affection from strangers. I will defend my territory, yo." The last remark an obvious kid, accented with a wink and a nudge to Thorne before Kendal shifts her attention back to the other two.
"So Ember, why were you itching to get in so badly?" she asks idly, a hand snaking out to snag a bottle from behind the bar. "You sounded a little more heartfelt than most of the boozy floozies who try snuggling up to the bouncers for admission."
Her free hand comes down to Kali's knee, twisting her stool around so the redhead faces her. With a smile, Kendal settles herself comfortably in the girl's lap, making herself at home. "Hi," she murmurs playfully.

~…Kali…~ I want a girl with lips like morphine!Kali grinned at Kendal, and slid an arm around her waist to help keep the other from slipping or anything like that. Her chin rested gently on Kendal's shoulder. Her kind eyes rested on Ember, waiting to see what was eating at the girl, because it was fairly obvious in her mind that something was. She mummered back to Kendal, softly, "Hi to you too..." Her grin was easy, and amused by her friend who had gotten her out of a tough spot last night, and was now still friendly and flirty. A rather nice change of pace from her usual trouble with clients.

~Freya~
Freya emerges from the card room in a fairly decent mood. So far tonight she has gotten to put a lecher on his a** with poisoned lipstick. Now hopefully she could get some information regarding the clowns.
As she approaches the bar she finds herself sniffing the air. A familiar scent, a feline scent, and definitely one she was hoping to not have to encounter tonight. She follows her nose toward Kendal and her lesbian entourage. A quick grumble muttered under her breath and she approaches the feline pain in the neck. Unlike Kendal's swaying tail, Freya's was limp and unamused.
"Well well, I smell Meow Mix, leather, and rouge only to find you here. How does the night find you Kitten?" Though Freya's words are snide, her tone is jovial and ribbing. Similar to the sort of thing that would be heard amongst siblings.

Ember quirks a scarlet eyebrow, noting Freya's bushy tail, I suppose I really shouldn't be all that surprised considering my previous company, she muses, a tiny grin tugging at the corner of her mouth. She wraps a gloved hand around the drink now sitting in front of her and looks up at the stunning people at the bar, her eyes pausing briefly on each and finally settling in a pensive gaze on Kendal. She opens her mouth to say something, bites her lip, and tries again. "Well...long story short," she laughs a little to herself, "I was hoping for a job actually." She shifts on her bar stool, turning to face Kendal head on, an earnest expression shifting her pretty features. She leans forward, her voice lowering an octave as her hands rest on her thighs. Don't look desperate Brey, you can do this, her mind coaxes her as she continues talking. "I was told...that this was the place to go if things got bad out there...that there were people willing to help out those of us who are, well, 'unusual' would be an understatement I think." she gives a lopsided grin that comes and goes in a flash before her eyes flick around the bar in a cursory manner. "I've been working in dive bars since-...let's just say for a while now, and in places like those it's pretty easy to be invisible if you know how to carry yourself." Ember leans in just an inch closer, her honey colored eyes charged with emotion that lights them from within. "I heard this guy talkin' to my boss Maurie, they hit it off right away, and if you knew anything about Maurie you'd know that's definitely not a good thing." Her eyes flashed momentarily with rage, her hands tightening on her thighs, nails digging into the flesh under her leather pants, her body temperature rising a few notches. If you had been smart...you would have just finished off the slimy cockroach and you wouldn't be in this mess! She shook her head, willing the voice in her mind to shut up before continuing her story. "He was looking for people...people with 'talents' for some show or something. Kids have been disappearing, mostly runaways, which isn't too unusual in this city...but I talked to one girl the night before she vanished and she said she thought someone had been following her." She pauses, taking a deep breath and says quietly, "This girl could do things that I'd never seen anyone human do before. She had something special, and I'm betting I'm not the only one who noticed." Ember leans back a little, willing herself to reach some sort of inner calm and takes a healthy swallow from her drink, her face skewing slightly at the hot cold sensation as the alcohol shivers down her throat before raising her eyes to meet Kendal's gaze once again. She puts down the drink, her mind shoving against the snippets of memory that spiral inside her head. Freak...that's what he'd called her, among other choice epitaphs, before she ran from the burning building out into the night.
[[Aw...I feel like such a total mood killer!]]

{ - Kendal - }
The wicked feline's eyes narrow faintly with Freya's little "meow mix" comment, but she shrugs it off with a faint shift of her shoulders. "Well if it isn't Kibbles n' Bits," she replies, her tone a mock dismissal. "You are here awfully early. I thought for sure you'd be busy kicking whatever boy out that your furry counterpart picked up last night." Although she is attempting to seem displeased with the canines appearance, Kendal's impish body language portrays that her jabs are only in jest.
She listens contently to Ember's admission, an eyebrow raising slowly as the story unfolds. "Wow," she laughs, shaking her head, "That's a bit too deep for me at this moment honey. I don't have nearly the blood alcohol content yet to work that shyt out."
Leaning back against Kali, she crosses one knee over the other."Thorne, help me out here?"

«<{ ÷Thorne÷ }>»
A wry smile and nod was offered to Kali at the thanks as she stowed the bottle away, almost fwapping the hand that reached over the bar beside her. Kendal's comment, however, got a scrunching of the nose, a tongue being stuck out, and an odd gesture; a reversed hand, index and middle finger raised with the others curled behind, offering a faint beckoning motion. Yeah... everyone knew what kind of tips Kendal was into... though the thought didn't help hide the faint trace of red that crossed Thorne's pale features.
As she perched elbows on the counter-top, idly listening to the conversation, Thorne waited for the inevitable flare about the "Meow-mix" comment, a faint smirk crossing her dark-coloured lips. And, and usual, Kendal definitely aimed to please, a faint snicker being hidden behind a hand as she turned her attention to the newest red-head flocking to Kendal's following. The bit about looking for a job was kind of glossed over, since the only people who were ever hired, per say, usually weren't folks who just walked in off the street.
But as the girl's story continued, however... well, Thorne had what would usually be called a good poker face. Those who knew her, though, would know in a heart-beat the kind of concern that started to grow behind those slanted eyes... and when Kendal finally requested her participation, the hesitation in her response was purely one of ingrained politeness as she "considered".
Slithering her way deftly back to the patron side of the bar, she offered a half-gloved hand to Ember, that warm smile appearing.
"Well, I can't make any promises, but I can take you to talk to someone who could," she replied, giving a faint nod towards the spiraled staircase heading up to the second story. "And, if nothing else, I think the Mistress would be curious about you story."
Yeah... "curious". Talk about understatements...

~Freya~
Freya takes Kendal's backtalk in stride. It had been quite a while since she could trade insults with someone who would not only stay calm, but be able to throw them back equal or more.
Just as Freya is about to give her own rebuttal she finds her ears drawn to the new girl. She couldn't believe it, a real lead since she had gotten to this planet. She was expecting to learn something in another week, but this was great. She watches and listens closely to the girls story. It sounds all to familiar, and Freya wanted to know more.
When Thorne takes Ember's hand to lead her to the Mistress, Freya pipes in calmly and politely(something that seldom ever happens with her naturally), "If it's not too much trouble, could I come along? I have an interest in what she knows as well. I'd also like to speak with the Mistress as well, to tell her what I know. Maybe we can piece something together?"
