This is my newest Piece. It'sdone for school, in my ap art class. It took a total of 10 hours. T'was fun to do ^_^

Reiben, did you put that on DA? Seems like I saw it while I was poking through the fantasy painting section last night. I've been feverishly trying to get a piece done and was just taking a breather so I didn't have time to really comment, but it's gorgeous!
And CC, I love that color green! Her eyes are so pretty - they really stand out. And I like the little bird!
Hopefully I'll have something to share soon. All I have to say is...blue jay feathers=kill me now!

xD; Watercolors are one of my favorite things to work in. I just haven't had the inclination to do a damn thing for quite some time xD; Art block plus I get swamped with work for classes - and most of that is digital crap in InDesign/Illustrator. When I do work i natural media I often can't use them as it won't fit the piece.
But I recently did a watercolor painting on global warming and it kicked me in the a** to paint more with 'em again.
This is a very new style for me, I don't normally use cold press paper - I get pricey and have to search around for my hotpress -I normally prefer a smooth finish. I'm pretty happy with my experiment of color layering in the bg, I've still some work to do on the left side to make it flow more, tho, and a bunch more to do on the figure with detailing <3

i've been using watercolor on gaia lately and trying to teach a friend how to get the hang of them
it's a tricky medium, no room for mistakes
i love how cold press paper holds the paint
