Aliya giggled a bit. "Wow, they really are unusual," she agreed, watching him take his sword out. She had been forewarned about bags like this, though, so it was more a curiosity than a surprise for her.
She eyed Feng's fans curiously as well. "They're very pretty," she commented. "But they look like they could be painful."
Elros nodded. "Really hard. She doesn't talk about it much, though, so most of what I know is guesswork based on the things she does say. For instance, I know for a fact that her mother died when she was born, so she never knew her. I can only guess, though, that her father did not raise her, for she never speaks of him - has never mentioned him at all, to my knowledge. I know from her scar that she has been in many fights, and I know from her interview that she was in the Southland army for many years."

"Well that's the point," Feng murmured, "Both pretty and dangerous, I don't know the full history behind them. I should ask Ai sometime."
Since they were obviously meant for women rather than men, even back then.

"So she's been up the mountain," Lin replied back.
She wondered if the lady had met the captain, or anyone else who now lived there. Or was there a different captain than now. Though she also had to wonder what was she doing all the way out here.

"Hatah," Aliya grinned. "Should we go outside then?" She picked up Triton's sword and clutched it tightly, grinning at Feng and Ryu.
Elros turned his head to look at Lin. "Mountain?" he repeated in a curious tone. "What mountain?"
He knew many mountains, and many that were no longer in existence; but which mountain Lin might be referring to, he had no idea.

Setting the bag down Ryu nodded, "Yes, let's take it outside."
He rose from his seat as Feng bounced up waving to the people who were left.
"See you later!"
And with that she was out the door.

"Over there," Lin told him, "Is a large mountain with stairs in them for people to walk up on, but it's a very, very, very... very long way up. And people go up there to train everyday. There are always people there training and pracitcing, and some of those people even live up there like the captain. He lives up there too. Earendil says it's good practice going up the mountain," Lin added thoughtfully.

Elros nodded thoughtfully. "I see," he murmured. "Is it a part of the city, then? I have to admit I hadn't seen it when I was down there ... though the city hadn't yet been built then, either."
He paused.
"And who is this Earendil fellow, now?" he asked in amusement. "It seems you have many friends in this world!"

"It's near the castle," Lin replied, "So I guess it is in the city....."
She laughed a bit though at his comment about having a lot of friends, so she just knew a lot of people, but let's face it her Nara-sissy had a large family!
"Earendil is Nara-sissy's nephew, Ruel is his daddy and Luthien is his Mommy, but he's older... a lot older. He doesn't need to go to lessons anymore."

"So that would make him ... Lord Elrohir's nephew, and Lady Serenity's grandson," Elros nodded thoughtfully. "Do you everyone in the Aldrich family, then?"
He hadn't seen any of them (except Serenity, Elrohir, and Haradhel of course) since the end of the war, decades earlier.

"Well... no," Lin shook her head, "I've heard of some of them, but I've never met them, or I only met them a bit. Like I've never met some of Earendil's uncles because they're busy doing other things like travel and stuff like that. I met Gion once.... I would like to meet him again because my older siblings like Gion and he's with grandpa. That story is kind of weird even for me and I've heard of a lot of weird things...."
She wanted to go see her grandfather again, she had only 'seen' him once, and kind of wished her grandpa would hurry up and get out of that sword.

"A weird story?" Elros asked, interested. "Do tell, it's been a long time since I've seen or heard of anything truly weird."
There were a lot of things after all that others would consider weird, but were normal for him, because he had been around for so long he had seen pretty much everything there was to see.

"Well... you see, grandma has this special sword she used against evil spirits and demons and stuff like that. It was some kind of special sword, that's what her clan does, they get rid of things that creep around," Lin began, "And when grandma died, the sword was left with grandpa. One day there was this really bad thing and it had to be sealed away. Daddy said his daddy was suppose to do it but the bad thing knocked him out, and when he came to the bad thing, grandpa and the sword disappeared. Gion found the sword, and what happened was that something went wrong when the demon got sealed away."
She paused a bit.
"Oh don't worry, it got sealed away... but somehow grandpa got sealed in the sword. If you touch it you can hear his voice, and he's just there. He's been there for a long, long time because Triton says the sword was in the old city."

Elros was impressed.
"You're right," he said emotionlessly, a slight furrow of his brows being the only indication of any reaction at all, "that is without a doubt the weirdest story I have ever heard."
He turned his head slightly to look at Lin. "So where is your grandfather now? Or Lord Gion? Will he ever be able to get out?"

"Uhm.... I know grandpa is with Gion still, because Gion still has the sword and grandpa isn't out yet, but...." Lin thought about it.
She never did inquire to where Gion lived, and from what little she could tell he didn't live in the castle. Nope, she hadn't see Gion at all her visits, but some people...
"I think they said he lived out in this plant... planty? Plantie?"
She scratched her cheek as if to think about it, what did she know about the place anyhow?
"They grow stuff there, but I don't know what."
