I was sneaking around a warehouse secluded in the forest north of Fortree City. Team Aqua had received an anonymous tip-off about some Pokemon experimentation going on inside the warehouse, and I had been the one chosen to check it out and put a stop to it if necessary. Right now I was looking for the easiest way inside without being detected. There were no windows visible, so I climbed up to the roof using a grapple and some rope.

Once on top of the roof I found a large window looking into a lab of some sort. I saw multiple cages filled with Pokemon found in the surrounding area. There was no one else that I could see inside the lab at the moment, so I cut a hole in the window and slid down to the lab floor with the rope I had used to get to the roof. Once I reached the floor, I began studying the equipment used around the lab, and none of it looked too friendly, so now I decided it would be best to set the Pokemon in the cages free.

I went around the room busting locks, but the only way the Pokemon could escape would be running through the warehouse, and I didn’t want them running into any of the scientists doing these experiments. The only solution was to make a hole in the wall, and the only way to do that involved making noise. Oh well, I could deal with the scientists myself, so I sent out Flygon. “Flygon, bust a hole in that wall.” Flygon charged up a Hyper Beam and blasted the wall to smithereens. “GO!” The Pokemon fled through the hole and were free, but behind me three of the scientists burst through a door.

“Hey! We were doing experiments on them!”

“You might have been, but they were illegal.”

“He’s got us there. We’ll have to dispose of him. Magneton, Electrode, get him!”

“Flygon and Charizard, go!”

Each Pokemon appeared in the center of the lab, which had just enough space for a battle. “Electrode, use Thunder on Charizard!” Electrode shot powerful bolts of lightening at Charizard, who took the hit hard. “Flygon, Earthquake. Charizard, use Flamethrower on Magneton!” Flygon pounded the ground, and the lab shook. Pieces of the floor flew up and hit Magneton and Electrode, but Charizard flew up to avoid being hit, and spit fire at Magneton, who was easily KOed from both attacks hitting simultaneously. “Electrode, hit Charizard with Thunderbolt!” Lightening bolts struck Charizard, and he was KOed by Electrode’s second electric attack. “Flygon, finish him with Dragonbreath!” A green haze enveloped Electrode, and when it cleared Electrode was KOed.

“So, you can battle, but there are five of us in this lab. Surely you cannot defeat all of us.”

”You’d be surprised. I took out five admins once.”

“Well then, if you’re telling the truth, then battle both of us at once.”

“I’m fine with that. Swampert, go!”

“Porygon, go!” “Electabuzz, go!”

“Flygon, hit Porygon with Faint Attack, and Swampert, Earthquake!” Flygon disappeared for a moment, then reappeared behind Porygon and slammed it to the ground, and Swampert followed up by pounding his fists into the ground, sending Porygon and Electabuzz crashing around the room. “Porygon, Psybeam on Flygon.” “Electabuzz, hit Flygon with Quick Attack!” Porygon fired multicolored rings at Flygon, and Electabuzz darted at Flygon and rammed him, KOing Flygon. “Typhlosion, go!” I returned Flygon to his Pokeball and sent out Typhlosion. “Swampert, take out Electabuzz with Mud Shot. Typhlosion, eliminate Porygon with Flame Wheel.” Both Pokemon executed their attacks and KOed their targets.

Next the scientists sent out Porygon 2 and Steelix. “Swampert, Hydro Pump. Typhlosion, Flamethrower. Both attacks on Steelix!” First Typhlosion hit Steelix with a jet of fire, then Swampert hit Steelix with a jet of water, and Steelix was KOed quickly. “Porygon 2, Lock-on to Typhlosion.” Porygon 2 shot small red laser beams out of his eyes and held them on Typhlosion for a few seconds, and was locked-on. “Swampert, Mud Shot. Typhlosion, Flame Wheel.” Swampert spit mud at Porygon 2, and it hardened once it covered Porygon 2. Typhlosion ran straight at Porygon 2 and rammed into it while covered in fire. “Porygon 2, Zap Cannon!” Porygon 2 fired a powerful ball of electricity that hit Typhlosion, and he was paralyzed. “Swampert, finish him with Take Down!” Swampert charged into Porygon 2 and KOed it, but took recoil as he ran into a wall.

“Ed, call the boss in. We need help.”

The scientist reached into his pocket and pulled out a walkie-talkie. “Sir, we need help in here.” I took the time to revive Charizard and Flygon and returned Typhlosion. A moment later two more scientists raced into the lab, looked at the destruction, and then at me. “You’ve ruined our plans. Jeff, get him.”

One of the scientists stepped forward and sent out a Lunatone and a Solrock, so I kept Swampert out and sent out Croconaw. “Swampert and Croconaw, Surf!” Both Pokemon spit water at the ground, which crashed toward Lunatone and Solrock. “Lunatone, hit Croconaw with Psychic. Solrock, Cosmic Power.” Croconaw was picked up and slammed into a wall, while Solrock glowed blue for a moment (+ Def & Sp. Def). “Both of you finish off Lunatone with Water Gun!” Both Pokemon fired a stream of water that caught Lunatone and KOed it. “Solrock, hit Croconaw with Psychic.” Once again Croconaw was thrown into a wall, but this time he was KOed. “Swampert, Hydro Pump!” Solrock was hit by a powerful jet of water, but was able to stay up. “Solrock, Explosion!” Solrock glowed white for a moment, then exploded, taking Swampert and the lab out with it.

“You idiot! Now we have to start all over. I’ll show you how to battle. Go Magneton!”

I sent out Flygon to deal with Magneton. “I guess you’re the head scientist here. Flygon, Sand Tomb!” Magneton was surrounded by a whirlwind of sand. “Yes I am. Magneton, Tri Attack.” Magneton fired beams of fire, ice, and electricity, which intertwined and hit Flygon. “Flygon, Dig” Flygon dug underground. Magneton was damaged by the whirlwind, and Flygon burst from under Magneton and tackled it. “Magneton, Sonic Boom!” Magneton emitted a loud crack and Flygon was thrown against the wall. “Flygon, Flamethrower!” Flygon shot a jet of fire at Magneton, and it was KOed.

Next the head scientist sent out Armaldo. “Flygon, Earthquake!” Armaldo was thrown around as the ground rumbled. “Armaldo, Water Gun!” Armaldo sprayed a jet of water at Flygon. “Flygon, Crunch!” Flygon closed its powerful jaws on Armaldo. “Armaldo, Hyper Beam!” Armaldo launched a powerful beam that KOed Flygon. Now I sent out Blastoise. “Blastoise, Hydro Pump!” Blastoise sent a powerful jet of water at Armaldo from the cannons on its shell, and Armaldo was KOed.

Now the scientist sent out Manectric. “Manectric, Charge.” Manectric began to build up electrical energy. “Blastoise, Ice Beam!” Blastoise shot a beam of pure ice at Manectric. “Manectric, Thunder!” Manectric released the built up energy and struck Blastoise with a very powerful Thunder, KOing Blastoise. “Charizard, Fire Blast!” I sent out Charizard and he immediately spit fire at Manectric. “Manectric, Shock Wave!” Manectric struck Charizard with its electrical attack. “Charizard, Flamethrower!” Charizard released a final jet of fire and Manectric was KOed.

His final Pokemon was Metagross. “Charizard, Fire Spin.” Metagross was enveloped in a tornado of fire. “Metagross, Psychic.” Charizard was thrown into a wall, and slowly got up (Metagross damaged by Fire Spin). “Charizard, Blast Burn!” Charizard released the powerful fire attack, and it hit Metagross. “Metagross, Hyper Beam!” The powerful beam hit Charizard, and he was KOed (Metagross damaged by Fire Spin). I sent out my last Pokemon, Blaziken. “Blaziken, Blaze Kick!” Blaziken jumped high in the air, and came down spinning and on fire. Metagross was KOed.

“Now, if I ever catch you doing experiments on Pokemon again, you’ll be thrashed even worse than you did today.”

“Yes… Of course…” They ran off into the forest, hopefully never to be seen again by me. The lab was decimated, but the rest of the warehouse was still intact. I went into the next room, where I found more Pokemon suspended in tubes. I found the control panel and released them. Every one of them was a shiny Pokemon. “So this is what they were doing.” Making Pokemon shiny using a special Pokeblock was fine, but the way they had been doing it was not.

One of the Pokemon, a Heracross, hadn’t moved. It was staring straight at me. “Um… hey there. Would you like to battle?” Heracross nodded, so I sent out my Blaziken. “Blaziken, Flamethrower.” Blaziken fired a jet of fire at Heracross, who then retaliated with Take Down (Heracross takes recoil damage). “Blaziken, Aerial Ace.” Blaziken moved with blinding speed and rammed into Heracross. “Great Ball, go!” I threw the ball at Heracross, who was sucked inside. The ball shook a few times. “Ding.” Heracross was caught.

Before I left the warehouse, I set charges inside, and once I was out of range, I set them off, imploding the warehouse. I walked back to Fortree City, where I had my Pokemon healed at the Pokecenter. I flew back to Aqua HQ with my newly caught Heracross.
