Sir Kyle Aziz I hear that St. Louis is pretty bad too. Parts of it. There are some chunks of the city where you DEFINITELY don't want to be out alone unless you're built like a tank or visibly packing heat. It's pretty well contained, though. In its own area, that is.

Van Evok http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/europe/07/22/norway.explosion/ First an explosion in Oslo, the capitol of Norway. When Oslo was deemed "secure", someone opened fire on a a kind of political camp or convention on an island nearby Oslo. Current known deathcount: 7 in the explosion, 84 in the shootings on the island.

The current suspect has affiliations to hard right wing groups and anti-muslim groups.

The current suspect has affiliations to hard right wing groups and anti-muslim groups. Considering it was a political camp that was attacked and a local that was detained, it has all the signs of something internal, rather than an attack fueled by outside influences. Whether that fact is a good or a bad thing is up for debate. Deepest condolences to anybody affected, especially family.

To inject some positive thinking into this thread: Space Shuttle Atlantis safely finished its last journey this week, ending a thirty year program on a high note.

Lt. Brookman To inject some positive thinking into this thread: Space Shuttle Atlantis safely finished its last journey this week, ending a thirty year program on a high note. Positive for some, I guess. I'm a space program fanatic, and I consider the funeral of the shuttle program to be a helluva downer. We could've been on Mars 20 years ago easy, but people just plain lost interest, and now we've got essentially no space program. Our astronauts are hitchhiking on the Russian rockets to get to the International Space Station. sweatdrop
