Tatsuman I never refuse to play someone at SSBM. Ever I'd love to play against all of those advanced techs, but all anyone cares about around here is Halo. stare That's one of the reasons I'm so anxious about Brawl. I'd think about learning a few more of these techs, but it'll just throw my game off if they're gone in Brawl. I'll wait until then to master said techs. I don't mean not playing against someone, but often times the scrub will tell the other player that a particular move is cheap and shouldn't be used. The cycle continues when both players cease to use the move, but if you keep an open mind, and look for everything and abuse the cheap stuff, then you won't have a problem, because then both players will be forced to find a counter.

I've done that with certain characters, but never with moves. For instance, Onaga and Blaze in MK: Armageddon. They cannot be grabbed, no projectiles work against them, and Blaze in particular has an attack that can be chained indefinitely. Even two people with equal skill and no holds barred, it is obvious that the one using Blaze or Onaga will be victorious. If you can find fun in that, then I commend you.

I play as Roy, I do my smash attack when he is recovering, then he says : that is so cheap! you shouldnt do that then he starts bragging how he is so pro w/ mario and blah blah and how mario is better than roy even though i always win. Actually he is cheap because he uses his friggin shield for the whole match. He shields, then when it gets small, does one punch, then jumps over me, does a cheap attack to get me off the cliff, then runs to the edge and shields so if I try a recovery I get knocked backwards. Sooooooooooooooo cheap. I think I will be so awesome with Ike in Brawl. Whatever happened to the stuff about Celda link, ridley, acuine, and bowser jr. being in brawl? It was alot of big news, but it wasnt on the brawl website at all and only on game site announcements (gameSpot). Does anyone know if its final or not? Anyway, Acuine will be awesome (if he is on it). And I only think its being delayed because of the Sonic thing. Anyone going to the E for All Brawl convention at the LA convention center on Thursday?

Looking back to the past two games, I have an idea for a stage they could place in Brawl. The first Smash Bros had a stage from Super Mario Brothers and Melee brought in a stage from the fake Super Mario Brothers 2. So, maybe Nintendo could complete the list of Super Mario Bros stages and add in a Super Mario Brothers 3 stage. Whistle clouds would blow you around the field from time to time, and you could duck on a white colored block and go to a different layer of the level.
That or we could have the Fantasy World from The Lost Levels. There would be hidden water spots everywhere, since in the Fantasy World, you swim over what looks like normal land.
I wish I could go to E for All. I want to get my hands on the demo of the game. Now-ish.....

Grab him then, shields don't work against grabs. Also, I like how you agree with me then cry cheap. [/sarcasm] Ike will be slow from what I've seen. I guess he will be one of the less used characters.
@Tatsu - It says on the site that there are exceptions, like the "Akuma" character in Street Fighter. His fireballs are so "broken" in that no other character could ever win. He is banned in tournaments because if it were Akuma or every other character, every other character would certainly be more fun.

Then there's nothing I don't agree with. Irrelevant, but has anyone tried fighting a level 9 with it's handicap on 9 ands yours at 1?

I don't like fighting level 9s. Practicing against them often actually diminishes or at least changes your strategies because of the level 9's ability to do stupid/insanely hard things (like power shield 40% of all projectiles). Level 9s don't DI (Directional Influence, that's holding the stick in a certain position to change knockback), and they always fall for the same tricks. If you want to practice combos, do it on level 1s, cause they do DI, but they don't fight back. The best practice partner is a human who knows what he's doing.

Tatsuman Ah. Didn't see that. And yea, Akuma is insane. Then there's nothing I don't agree with. Irrelevant, but has anyone tried fighting a level 9 with it's handicap on 9 ands yours at 1? I've tried that before. It's fun to try, but pointless if you play as Fox. With Fox, you just end up spamming the Blaster from a distance away from the enemy, taking the fun of actually fighting the opponent away.
I've beat Bowser, and maybe 2 other characters a few times under those rules as Yoshi, my main character until I get to be Diddy.

I have to make their handicap an 8 in order to win. I probably could beat a 9 if I played enough.

I like an actual fight, but it's getting to the point that I can take most of them out in about 30 seconds. (in a 1 stock match of course) I have a few friends that are good, but I'm at least slightly better than all of them. Once again, online play will be a plus.

I wish someone else would read that article, like one of the mods maybe. Right now I see a lot of the N-cult as the "scrub" they were talking about.
