748. What does you dream home look like (please describe vividly)
it sits at the end of a dead end road high in the hills.

you drive through close-bunched elderberry bushes, as sugar maples and birch lean over you.

suddenly you come to a clearing. there is ample room for parking cars, and the lot is fortified with grael so that although it is grass covered it will not become muddy or icy.

there in front of you is a chalet, two stories high, with a large upper balcony and a glass door on the second floor; below are small-paned windows with natural shutters, hand carved. the small windows in the door are set in diamond pattern. flowerbeds press close to the walk as you approach the door, over which a small porch roof provides shelter.

the siding is cedar, with rustic blue (grayish "colonial" blue) trim.

behind the house, providing a backdrop for the huge chimney which soars out of the top of the dwelling, loom purple mountains.

you enter into a flagstoned entryway with closets on either side for your cloak and boots and whatnot. therough another door you enter the main hall, with a spiral staircase in front of you; on eitehr side are pale yellow walls (lemon chiffon) with framed works by local artists.

to your right is the door to the kitchen, which has a large central workspace with an oven there, and a huge hood hanging over that, from which hooks dangle various pots and utensils.

dried spices hang from the ceiling in mesh bags, along with onions and dried peppers. a huge refrigerator with double mdoors occupies one wall. the sink is by the wall toward the parking area, with a nice view of the hills out the double windows.

beyond the kitchen, accessible only from there, is a large well lit pantry.

in the interior wall there is a pass-through window into the dining room.

on your left as you come in are two doors side by side. one is to the master bedroom which looks out the back; it is eggshell white with natural wood trim, decorated with found abjects from the woods and lake. a homemade quilt is on the bed; another is frame don the wall. this room has a private bath with walk-in jacuzzi.

the next room is a second bedroom, which chares a bath with the rest of the downstairs (two doors). if you are my guest, remember to lock that other door when you enter, and unlock it when you leave the room!
beside theat bathroom, in the second bedroom, is a tall window looking out into the woods.

to the left of the spiral staircase is a large comfy living area with a fieldstone chimney in the middle. around it are seating areas; the walls are lined with bookcases. the windows on the far side, opposite the parking area, look through a glassed-in porch out over a mountain lake.

to the right of the staircase is a dining room, with tab;le for 12. there is a buffet, hutch, and china cupboard, and a spinet piano and stero system too.

there are some chairs along the wall so that people can enjoy music or reading in here when people are not dining.

as with the living room, one wall looks out through a glassed-in porch over a mountain lake.

there is a passthrough into the kitchen which allows the aroms of cooking to waft through the home.

up the stairs there are smaller bedrooms and an office. the office overlooks the lake, and is long and narrow; two bedrooms are on each side with views of the forest; and between them and the office is a hall with muslin curatine-d windows and a large door onto the balcony, which has chairs, a table, and flower boxes.

the upper rooms share a bath.

going onto the front porch one realizes that the house is set on the bluff of a rock cliff dropping steeply down to a mountain lake. blueberry bushes cling to the rock, and birch trees Birch precariously. across the lake and on all sides, mountains drop steeply to the clear unspoiled surface of the lake. no other sign of humanity is to be see anywhere.

on the porch are informal chairs and couches; on a pleasnt evening one can slide windows open and sleep out here.

there is a stairwell at one end of the porch; descnding one enters a basement family room with air hockey, pool, ping pong, table for jigsaw puzzles, foosball and so on. the room has small windows with aview of the lake. a largewalk in closet contains sporting goods and yard equipment. through a door one has access to the outside stairs which climb down the cliff to the dock on the lake, where there are kayaks, a pontoon boat, a sailboat, and a swimming area.

next to the family/game room is a storage room with part reserved for canning and part for seasonal deecor.

if i ever want to finish this quiz i must stop here.
