Alfone, after an hour or two later, slowly dispelled the sleep and sat up, cringing in apprehension of a pain that didn't come.
Beans, across the room, was still very unconscious, now.

Claire woke up on the floor, in a strange place. The floor was carpeted at the atmosphere was warm, smelling of chocolate chip and sugar cookies. In the other room, laughter could be heard, the melodic ring of a bell pealing out in sweet harmony.

"...You're too sweet, Megan," Jasmine said in a warm tone, after laughing. "Cookies? For me? You shouldn't have!" The reply was inaudible to Claire, a soft, gentle voice that couldn't be made out.
"Well, that's true," Jasmine intoned after a moment's pause. "But that wasn't even anything special! I wasn't going out of my way for you; I just happened to have five grand I didn't need. I was glad to help."
The reply was again too soft to discern. More brilliantly clear laughter, from Jasmine. Clare shook her head as her head began to swim again. The edges of her vision became blurry....

"I see... that sucks..." She sighed. 'Wait... his tone... was he just playing with me this morning?... What if he really doesn't like me?... Even if he was, I still had fun, and that's all that matters, I guess. I'll know later. If he starts avoiding me, then I know it was probably all a lie.'

"I think it would look fantastic" Anthony said, "but you probably shouldn't wear that out in public. People may get ideas about you".
