I've seen tons of UFOs, but every time one shows up it turns towns into a lagfest. It's really hard to talk to them or see anything that's going on.

It's raining out, and I just bought a 150 dollar waterproof jacket. It makes me want to just stand outside and watch the water roll off of me.

That would be silly, though.

I tend to buy my most expensive things AFTER I need them.

For example, I bought my new 0 degree sleeping bag AFTER freezing my a** off on a field trip in Maine.

I also bought my new waterproof jacket after getting soaking wet durring a rainstorm on a rock outcrop next to the tide-in ocean on the same field trip in Maine.

I'm currently stuck with a new money problem. My laptop is busted, and twice today the screen randomly turned off and would not go back on until I restarted the whole thing. I need to get a job so I can buy a new one. Unfortunatly, It will be difficult for me to get a job right now because I won't be available for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

I plan on doing geology field work this summer, which will make me about 10k richer in one lump paycheck, but that's a little long to wait for a laptop.

My christmas and birthday (dec 28th) money combined won't be enough, even if I ask people to give me money instead of presents.

If I graduate this spring, I could ask for it for a graduation present, but I'll need that money for my second bachleors.

So once again, it seems like I won't get a new laptop until AFTER I need it. Le sigh.

I don't do loans because I'm afraid I'd be unable to pay it back.

I'm still living under the care of my parents, but am slowly working on becomming more independant (a difficult task since my parents don't want me to leave and pay all my living expences). I'm really looking forward to my field work in the summer, because I'll be in Maine or Connecticut and it means I'll have an excuse to be away from them and taking care of myself for a couple months.

But until then, I don't have any way of making money. I want to get a job, but I'd have to work around my school schedule and would need transportation to get there. Walking distance is bad because I live in a dangerous neighborhood. I hate taking the bus but I'm willing to do it, but that would add hours of commute to my schedule. I can't afford a car, of course, but even if I could I don't have a drivers licence. That's because no one will teach me to drive.

I hate being 21 but living like a teenager. Doesn't help that all of my best friends live in other states and countries, too.

Miri: From past experience fixing laptops, it sounds like the cable which connects the motherboard to the CPU might be a little loose on one or the other end. If you've got the guts and ambition to attempt to fix it yourself, all you'd have to do is unscrew all the plates, make sure everything is nice and snug in their ports, and put it all back together how it was before. :3
