"Because we want you over here with your new wife. Besides, you know you were absolutely bored over there," Nari told Sabe and smirked a little.

"So are you excited about finally being married? Does it feel any different?" Nari asked Sabe.

"Oh could you be any more like a scared little puppy." Pen clapped down on Sabe's shoulder when she got up to get another drink. She seemed a little more relaxed now and supported a very sly smile.

"You got the girl, isn't that what you wanted? You should be over joyed! Its your wedding day!"

Their persistence and smart remarks were pushing some buttons. Sabe got irritated and dropped the smile like a hot potato. "You got the girl, isn't that what you wanted?" he mirrored back, imitating Pen's voice as she left. ...they have some nerve.

"She was just trying to lighten up the mood, Sabe. Don't be so touchy," Waffle said. She was gazing at the chandelier, which looked like a bunch of unconnected floating bubbles, lit with magic. A wizard probably had to enchant the glass to give off the light in the way that it did.

Sabe was off on a rant by now. "...sure she was. Are you sure it wasn't a coded insult? Do normal people really get that obsessed with getting married? I find it funny how anybody who asked either of us how it is or tells us how to react aren't married themsel-"

He was quickly silenced by Waffle quietly threatening to stuff a piece of cake in his mouth that was heavily loaded with thick frosting. Sabe winced and shook his head.

"Good boy." Waffle said, rubbing Sabe's shoulders as he didn't speak another word.

She picked up her glass against it weight back and forth, almost making it spinning. Finally she said, "I'm not surprise you haven't heard of affinities. In our elven culture today, magic doesn't seem as important as it did before. According to my great great aunt, who is somehow still kicking enough to tell tales. Dark Elves, used magic as a way to prove we were superior to other gaian races. We built kingdoms on with it, however as times changed. We need to assimilate, not conquer. So slowly the training of magical abilities faded. Now only a few families still keep up the "old ways'."

She raised her hand to emphasis the quotes. Sighing she shrugged, "Which is how my family gained power of course." She knocked glass and forth, smirking. "Anyway...as far as I know. Only magical creatures have affinities, I could be wrong. There are thousands of magical creatures and I don't know them all. However I know that dragons, and certainly several kinds of elves all have affinities."

Sabe gave her a look of disbelief. Are you serious?

"If you wanted that, why are you asking someone who's been married for hardly even a day?" he asked, "I think you would get better answers from...not newlyweds."

Nari sighed, relieved that Pen had come back. "Okay, Sabe. I wanted to hear from you, but...that's fine. Long as you're with the girl you want, you'll be happy." She forced a smile and tried to shove her annoyance aside. It was just a question. "What about you, Waffle? How do you feel about all of this? Is it exciting or does it seem like just another experience to you?" she said a bit less cheerful than before, and turned to Waffle.

Sabe was still annoyed and looked for an excuse to leave the table. He looked away as if he heard someone called his name, tipped his chair back just a little, and turned back to the group. "Someone else is calling me over, so I'll see you all later," he said before quickly getting up and walking away in some random direction.

"Well. Now that he's gone, I'll be honest with you guys," Waffle said with a smirk on her face, "I'm looking forward to toying around with him. I have a hunch that he thinks things will suddenly change now."

She laughed to herself. "To me this whole thing's just another experience. I'm not expecting anything special like he probably already is."
