"Ah ah ah!" Kyle interjected, waving his other hand's finger at Nemesis. "The man who introduced himself with a magical piano and an Italian poetry reading does not get to complain about our pace, especially when you offered to answer our questions."
Sora tried, and failed, to hide his snicker. Still, the rest of Nemesis' words weighed on him. "So, is that possible? The heart collapse, I mean."
"God, I hope so," Kyle said, turning his gaze back to the shard between his fingers. "Means either way, our mission gets some success. We can take our time and unravel it all, or it collapses and stops consuming other worlds, which was the concerning threat to begin with."
"You say make up our minds like we have a choice," Riku said, side-eyeing Kyle before looking back at Nemesis. "You just said we had to deal with them, right? Or is there a way to target Mateus directly, stopping the growth of the spell without cancelling it entirely?"
Matthew raised his hand, having heard Kyla. He decided it was a good question to ask outright. "Can the towers not take us all literally or magically? Because if you're just calling us fat, Kyla can make platforms so we don't even touch the ground."

Nemesis rolled his eyes at Kyle, "Yes, because losing most of the world's known heroes of light is an acceptable solution," He raised an eyebrow and squinted the other in a sneer before returning to Riku's question, "Mateus is sealed in the box. The shards I spoke of are the keys to opening the box. Kill them, the way to Mateus is opened. Or don't, and wander aimlessly trying to find them in the indefinite time we have left... or dying after being worn down by whatever other horrors roam these halls. You Disney idiots are the suborn sort, so I'd say, yeah, there is a choice. Take my aid and walk straight to your destination, or leave it to chance and cross your fingers. Personally, I like a bit of certainty."
Nemesis paused, "Magically, the weight of a heart is a heavy thing, Louis' heart is currently carrying many more than it ever should. Sections simply can't hold the weight."
"Ooo, name calling, that's a good sign. We're the Disney idiots, but let's ignore that someone was stupid enough to start a self-consuming spell without setting safe parameters," Kyle cooed, clearly pleased. He slipped the shard into a robe pocket and leaned forward in his throne, elbows on his knees, hands propping his chin up as he looked at the shard, his eyes ever playful. He figured, heck, if Justice or Innocence weren't chiming in, he couldn't be doing too badly. "If all that's left are Victim, Nightmare, Traitor, and Prisoner, then it's safe to say if there was a shard of Intellect, it was weak enough to end up rotting in this room, no?"
There was a groan from somewhere in the group, though it was hard to tell the source.
Afterward, there was suddenly a mental jab over the charms from Joseph that, while everyone heard, was particularly felt by Kyle. "Just say yes and shut him up. I'm tired of the bickering and the bodies and since I doubt he's the shard of 'letting petty s**t go', the pomp ain't gonna stop till you do."
The sorceress looked both frustrated and confused. "What's Disney?" she asked whoever was standing around her, though not necessarily loud enough to call everyone's attention to her.
"The answer's yes, Nemesis. You say we can't progress without you, and we don't exactly have any other promising options." Sora said almost instantly, though it would have come from out of the blue since the shard wouldn't necessarily be keyed into the charms. "If you're actually in such a hurry, just show us the way and stop baiting us. It's hard to take your offer of help seriously when you dangle it in our faces and refuse to give it unless we ask nicely."

Dawn let out a weak sigh as she listened to the petty bickering between Kyle and Nemesis. She was thankful when Joe put his foot down to put it to an end.
"Well if that is settled," she said softly, "How do we propose to do this? Splitting up seems like the way to go, but who goes with who?" she then nodded her head to point in the direction of Nemesis, "Same goes with you. If you are going to help. You should come with like the other 3 are. Seems only right."
~"Might I suggest that he stay faaaar away from Flasher. The way they are going, they might just go on a verbal brawl. And I'd feel sorry for anyone who has to sit through that."~
Dawn's lips twitched slightly as she heard Garuda communicate through the charms. She didn't realize her summon still had access to it, since her summon forced her out of hiding.

Nicholas raised a brow at Melisandre's question, and attempted to not roll his eyes. What is Disney, shoot. Like she didn't know. Flip Yen Sid backwards! Bleh, why was he even getting mad? She was an eight foot fire giant who conveniently shared a name with a fire sorceress from a well-known book series on Earth. No odd coincidence there. But he sighed, and looked towards the giantess.
"Disney is a...wizard of sorts from Earth. Honestly, almost the equivalent of Yen Sid here in this world. He wielded- wields, wields great power. He has influence over many things, from a hulking green beast to a man of iron to sabers made of light. He is a beloved man known throughout the world, and he continues to create joy for adults and children. If he didn't keep jacking up the prices to get that happiness, however." He muttered the last part under his breath, then looked towards Dawn.
"Melisandre and I will take a path. We've already seen the Giantess' power, and out of the Earthlings, I'm likely one of the strongest. Plus, I don't want to interrupt your... flow or whatever you got with your team. Or your conversation with Nemesis. So, can you open a path already? Sooner this is done, the sooner Louis can be ...saved."

"Mm," Melisandre said, furrowing her brows in thought as Nicholas answered her question. She didn't quite seem content, however. "I'm a Norn. Not a giantess. There's a difference. Humans..."
There was hardly a pause after Nicholas' declaration.
"Okay, so Nich's with me," Kyle said with finality, standing up and stretching slightly.
"So who's Yen Sid?" the sorceress asked Nicholas, deciding to at least strike while the iron of the subject was still hot.
Well, ******** hadn't gone as he had hoped. He expected as much resistance, but he was not partnering up with the dragoon. Nicholas, if he even needed backup, needed someone to watch his back, not drive a spear through it the moment his guard was down. There was a bit too much bad blood for that team to work.
But...
Out of all the Earthlings, he and one other would be the most likely to assist if... if it came to that point. He frowned, arms crossed over his chest. He should probably tell the group, but he worried that they'd kill him before he had a chance to get to Louis. And 'save' him. Save him how he asked to be saved... It was hard enough as it is.
"Yeah, let me offer a counterpoint. You and I are never going to work out this whole 'teamwork' thing. You very clearly don't trust me, and frankly, I don't really like you. Lasers to the face tend to ruin one's mood. Honestly, it's better that there are fewer people around me. You and I both know that. If you wanna argue this further, let's have a little one-on-one conversation about this constant need of yours to watch me like a ******** hawk cause I'm tired of this bullshit."
He turned towards Melisandre. "...Really? Alright, whatever, I'll summarize. Yen Sid. Super powerful sorcerer. King Mickey was his apprentice. Honestly has enough power to cause catastrophic levels of damage to the world. But he's good. Grumpy, but a good guy."

"There's nothing to argue, and there's nothing to counter," Kyle said, staring Nicholas down with indifference. "Noelle vouched for you, but that doesn't make you part of this squad, it makes you an issue."
"If you decide to be as flippant about your alliance as you were about people's lives, I know I can take you on, but that's only one reason," he continued. "You want teamwork? I know you better than every single person here because I have Ajora's memories. I know how you work, I know what you can and can't do. Besides, the only person who could get me to willingly let you off your current leash is Joseph."
John just looked at the two bickering and looked back to Nemesis. He looked to the party and quickly scanned for who he could pair with.
"Um... I'll take Amy...? John said offering a thought to the picks. "She's got the deeps while I got the... soaking up damage... eeps.

"Ha! You know what I can and can't do? Please, you've seen me use very basic aeromancy and some swordwork. You have very little idea of what I'm really capable of. You may have Ajora's memories, but you know nothing, Jon Snow!" Nicholas retaliated, his breathing begin to get labored with his emotions flaring. He attempted to compose himself, taking a few deep breaths before staring Kyle directly in the eyes.
"Your so called 'leash' has no hold on me. I'm not doing this for Noelle, I'm not doing this for Earth, I'm sure as hell not doing it for you. I'm here to settle my debt with Louis before I d-" He cut himself off immediately, clenching his teeth in anger and silence. He almost let his emotions get away from him and said something that was definitely on a need to know basis. He straightened his posture, looking slightly down at the Dragoon.
"I've done taking orders like I'm some kind of lapdog. I did it with Seymour, I did it with Ajora, I did it with Chaos... I'm sure as hell not gonna let you order me around, either."
"Enough!" Riku groaned loudly, clearly exasperated. "Nick, whether or not you like it, the only place you're going solo or with only one person is back out the way we came. There are four paths, and over twenty of us total. You're getting paired up with a group, and if you don't like it, suck it up or leave."
"And you!" Riku started, turning back on Kyle with a disbelieving stare. "Whatever your problem is, cut it. We don't need more tension and arguing. If you're going to pick apart possible bad guys, try not to be so... difficult about it."
Kyle looked over to Riku, momentary contemplation crossing his features. In the end, he shrugged and turned his gaze elsewhere, though there was still a hint of a smile on his face.
"Starting to feel like Donald's here," Sora muttered under his breath, laughing to himself.
Melisandre was staring hard at Nicholas, one raised brow. Her question hadn't been answered.

‘Why do I feel a headache coming on…’ Dani sighed and rubbed her temples. These conversations to her at least were going nowhere. She really had nothing to this point to say to anything. She had no attachment.
That was until the group was splitting off into groups. She looked to Kyle and Nich’s group but thought better about it. ‘That is a train wreck waiting to happen.’ Dani shook her head looking to John and Amy’s group. ‘I don’t really know them that well… at least not on speaking terms. I guess for me there is only one option.’
Dani quickly stood off on her own away from the group a little bit and looked to the group. “Well if we are going to need to split and so far there seems to be people splitting off on their own I guess I will try to make a third little ‘group’ as it will.” Dani then raised her hand to Bobbi specifically. “We could go together with some others Bobbi. Might be fun to see some ice and water moves. If you don’t want to that is fine too.”
Bobbi stood as patiently as she could, listening to the back-and-forth questions and bickering. She had just drawn a breath to snap, when Riku (bless him) beat her to it, so she let that breath out in a gusty sigh. Dani offering to team up with her brought a smile to the Archer’s face, though, and she let it blossom into her characteristic, s**t-eating grin.
"Glad to go with ya, kiddo," she said, meaning it wholeheartedly. "Also, Dawn, James, you’re coming with me. I’m not letting either of you out of my sight."
"I’ll go with lover-boy!" Demyx piped up, still on his back. He raised one arm and used it to point at John, making his choice of groups clear.
Bobbi stood on tip-toe, taking a headcount of everyone that she could see. Divide that by four, and…
"Right, so, there’s twenty-four of us, not counting the Louis shards, unless I missed someone. That means teams of six, if we’re gonna split evenly, so yeah. Sorry not sorry, Nickerdoodle, but you’re stuck with a posse. Deal with it."
Yuffie looked drastically relieved that the conversation seemed to be getting somewhere.
"I’m going with Leon!" she announced, bounding over to his side with more enthusiasm than was strictly necessary. Or maybe she was just trying not to step on a corpse. "He’s hopeless without me, you know."
Figured getting a list compiled in a post would be a good idea. Groups so far:

Joe sighed. So they had to play concussive therapist with the darkest parts of Louis' heart or otherwise be thrown into the abyss. Wonderful. Life tonight was just a buffet of dreams.
As the group once again descended into bickering over past events that he had only a vague understanding of, the man's mind turned to one of the yet-unanswered questions: motive. Not the motive of Nemesis; he was just another loud bombastic piece to a greater puzzle. What was bugging him was the motive of Louis, the whole person. What led him to collapse his heart like this? Did he blow it up intentionally, knowing that they would come and put them all through the ringer? If so, why? Was it really just because he was a sadistic b*****d with no sense of self preservation?
Or was there something that they were missing?
Before he could take his train of thought any further, more pressing issues came up. They were dividing into groups and things were not going well. At all. In fact, people seemed to be grouping with their buddies like a school group project gone wrong.
His eye twitched and he heard Atomos chuckle in the back of his mind. No. Absolutely not, he was not letting this happen. "OK, no. At risk of being 'that guy' again, we cannot afford to divide groups by personal preference at this point."he said, bluntly "If we do this, we do it smart and balance strengths and weaknesses as best we can."
The male rubbed his face with his hands, then started counting everyone once talk turned into splitting up. Which seemed like it was going to happen.
He knew the numbers to split the group...but he called Riku over. He discussed with the keyblader for a moment, pointing at people and talking in a low voice. And then, when they were done, did he finally speak at a normal volume.
"After talking it over with Riku, these are going to be the groups we'll split into. Hopefully they're balanced enough like I think they will be."
Group 1: James, Bobbi, Dawn, Dani, Riku, Nich Group 2: Joseph, Matthew, Demyx, John, Amy, Kyla Group 3: Sayrike, Joe, Axel, Sora, Auron, Zell Group 4: Kyle, Mel, Yuffie, Nanaki, Jenny, Leon
"Hopefully this keeps everyone relatively safe and happy. If not...well...it's the best for everyone as I see it so just try and stick it out.
