Miki just stared and gave a silent nod. Continuing to eat her sandwich, she didn’t really know if her stare was an act of surprise or astonishment. Surprise, because her brother remembered that their Mother’s, in her dying moments, last wish was for Kai to take care of her. It was rather honorable, in a sense. Being asked to be protected and taken care of. It was also insulting, in a way. Since it was like Miki was still young to her Mother’s eyes.
Being the younger sometimes has its advantages. Being taken care for example. But sometimes it has a lot of disadvantages. Like always being underestimated and being treated like a small child even if you are almost legally an adult. Sometimes, she wished she was like Diana. Being tough, knowing how to defend herself, not being squeamish when she kills somebody and rebellious by nature.
But she knew, she could never be like her. It wasn’t Jealousy. It was rather of an admiration. She admired Diana for her knack of being calm even at the most horrifying moments. Like when she was forced to listen from a viewing deck just above the Torture and Punishment Chambers. The memory was still inside her, but somehow it wasn’t that terrifying anymore. Still, it was rather uncomfortable to remember bad memories.
Diana, finishing her meal, drank the rest of her juice and took a deep breath and let the rest of the liquid flow through her esophagus. Standing up, she said “Well, I need to go back next door. Thanks for the meal, Miks. And Kai..”. Leaning towards him, her devious in take, she stole another kiss from the blue-haired boy and took them off just before he could react. Smirking slyly, she turned to walk to the door and faced them both one more time “Thanks for the.“date”. Been a real slice… That’s the 3rd time you know” Diana added with a two-fingered salute wave and went out of the door.
Miki blinked several times. “3rd time?? What the heck did her brother and Diana do?!?” Miki immediately confronted Kai “Oniichan, what exactly happened? Tell me!” she demanded. If her brother was dating Diana, he could at least gave her a hint!!
"Heh. Whatever, Diana..." Kai returned, just before the door to the hallway clicked shut. The next moment, the crimson-eyed teen blinked - partly in surprise, and partly in amusement - at Miki's outburst. He couldn't blame her, really, as a first 'date' didn't normally include three kisses. He laid his half-eaten sandwich on the plate in front of him, then half-turned in order to face his sister.
"Your friend runs both hot and cold, do you know that?" he began, cocking an eyebrow. "First she punched me, saying it was for 'making you cry' this whole time we were apart, and the next minute she kissed me, this time for making you happy again. That was the first kiss." The phoenix wielder shrugged nonchalantly. "The second kiss was the one I stole from her, in retaliation, you might say. And the third was the one you just saw."
So saying, Kai turned away and took a sip of juice before adding anything else. "But aside from that, we didn't do anything, really; just played a round of paintball."

leaving the basement to sneaking into the lobby. blending into the crowd of people going out and coming in the apartment building sho was able to slip out unacnaledged. jumping car to car to get acrossed the streetto the gym. the gym had about a hundred opritives. crossing the sea of people working out, bading, and just training in general. sneaking down the stairs sho put a motion sensing gernade aiming at the door. gliding down the stairs with a starving druel face. sho grabbed boxes of zing bars and bottles of water. until he could not box any more. preparing the c-4 blocks with the bags of ball bairing tacked on with the shurikens. some one opened the door a milimeter when the gernade blew away a big hole in the walls. tacking the last shuriken into the third c-4 block, sho grabbed the box that he was working on sprinting up the stairs. Getting to the platform Sho looked into the cavern of the gym. Sho noticed that most of the bladers were still disoriented from the blast, he threw the three blocks of C-4 into the crowd. Shinja yelled telepathically "RUN!" Turning to run out the back alley a voice yelled out above the crowd, "There it is!" Taking a left out of the back wall Sho hit the street. Jumping onto a car with the traffic. Turning to face the buildings they escaped from Sho collapsed with the box on the top of the car. With barely enough energy left Sho pulled out a pen sized device and pushed the button on top. Watching the explosion from afar Sho pulled out a Zing Bar. Laying back and eating it, thinking "D***, this tastes good."

Miki blinked and cocked up a finger to her chin “So that means you aren’t dating. Good thing. It will take a miracle for Oniichan to actually find someone worthy enough to his standards.” Miki silently whispered to herself. She didn’t really know if Kai’s hearing was sharp enough to listen to her. Not that she cared anyway. It was true.
Miki immediately went back to her seat and drank a bit of her juice. “Well...” she began, trying to explain Diana’s personality to her brother “She can be unpredictable. Sometimes even a walking time bomb. One minute, she is laughing then after she is going to curse up a storm. And about the whole, ‘making me cry’ part”. Miki looked sheepishly at the ground “I did once told Diana I hated you…But…you know how I am Oniichan. No matter how many times, I could never truly hate you”.
“Even if I did feel really lonely at the Abbey and at the BBA headquarters, not being allowed to go outside.” Miki rose up and gave a smile “I guess I keep bluffing but never actually do it. No wonder Diana told me I need to learn how to defend myself. I once did try to learn Judo from her. But I guess my butt aches didn’t go too well” Miki chuckled.
Kai had to smile - just a bit - at Miki's "time bomb" comment. "That fits her so well..." he muttered, half to himself before resuming eating. He nearly stopped short, though, when Miki revealed what she'd once told her brunette friend; but then, given Miki's impulsive behavior sometimes AND what he'd done, he couldn't really blame her for having done that. Was it possible, though, that somewhere inside her, Miki did hate him? The whole 'being related' issue wasn't much of an excuse not to hate him; they both pretty much hated their grandfather, didn't they?
Okay, Hiwatari, quit acting like a paranoid sap, the slate-haired teen berated himself. You know better than that, dammit. Still, now that his currently-overactive mind had raised the question, Kai could tell it wouldn't leave him alone, like an attention-greedy pup - a thought which made him sigh inaudibly. Great...

There was more things she could tell him but was unsure whether to tell about the details of their meeting and about her desperate attempt kidnapping Miki, but the latter would involve Diana and Miki and she wasn't sure to rat them out unless she was 150% trust worthy against Diana and Miki.
"Well let's think about that too. Let's go" Keiji said the retreated back to his blade and went out with Maria following him back to their bodies left untouched.
"Let's at least have fun at the tournament" Maria said with a grin.
"Care for another run?"Keiji then asked returning the grin.
"nope I'll go for a little rest" she sat down then took out a small book called "The Four Gods of Heaven and Earth".

Miki chewed the remains of her sandwich and drank the last of her juice. She took the plates which contained the just recently devoured sandwiches and her own plate and glass. Placing in the sink, she started washing them. It was a rather uncomfortable silence. But sometimes, there are moments where she knew she wouldn’t say a thing or she shouldn’t rather.
Those moments were pretty much, because she feared her brother didn’t like to talk so much. Unlike her, who was used to being friendly with other people, while her brother was isolated from everyone. Miki didn’t know, if it was fear or just a twin’s intuition to not speak. It was rather saddening, now that they were older. Maybe, if she learned to be quiet as her brother…will he like it or not?
Uncomfortable silence.
For some reason, Kai knew if he'd been with anyone else, he wouldn't describe the quiet that just descended on them both as 'uncomfortable'. Either it was because he was used to Miki being the talkative type - relatively, at least - or because he was used to being around her, separation aside. Or it was a combination of both. In any case, seeing his sister just clam up clued the crimson-eyed teen that something was wrong. From what he could see of Miki's face, it was apparent the ice phoenix wielder was contemplating something, and quite deeply at that.
In an effort to break the unnerving calm - yet another adjective he wouldn't have used had he been with a different person - he spoke up. "So... what did you do while Diana and I were out? Aside from making lunch, of course..."
-----------------------------
Diana went inside the next apartment and closed the door. Taking off her shoes and arm bands, she went to the bedroom to lie down and rest. This was her first date after all. And it doesn’t really involve going to the paint ball stadium where she liked to practice her shooting. But sometimes, it was boring since the other players were amateurs. She needed guys like those who wanted to kill her. The criminals who will shoot her and not care if they will die anyway since she was an expert gunner, despite the age difference. Oh well, Diana rolled to her side and slowly closed her eyes.

Unlikely for her brother to actually start up a conversation, but might as well answer “Just…went out to buy food. So I could make the sandwiches. That’s it”. Oh yeah, wonderful answer. Her brother will probably won’t be satisfied with it. But short responses were probably for the best right now. She didn’t want to unnerve her brother. Not now. Not ever. He, in her mind, was like a parent to her in a relative kind of way.
She was generally not the type to be good with decisions and will often seek help. Like the previous time back at the BBA HQ, she asked her brother if she can join the tournament; resulting to her registration. She was rather grateful for that. But now, this was an even more awkward time. Deciding on herself, whether or not to remain the talkative kind of little sister, or not…around her silent twin.
He already hinted himself, he needs his silence. Even when Maria-san’s phone just rang, he already got irritated. From these hints, she knew her brother wanted silence. So, deciding to take note of how long she talked was probably for the best right now. So, that she won’t make him irritated. After all, she knew that making her brother annoyed at her was one of the things she wished not to do.
"...sou darou?"
Needless to say, Kai was a bit taken aback. He'd always known Miki to be the more talkative of them both, so her rather short answer puzzled him. For some reason, he knew that this was not without cause; what eluded him was what that cause was exactly. Still, there was nothting more to be said - he thought it foolish to force his sister to talk if she didn't want to, just as it was for him - and wordlessly, the maroon-eyed blader got up and went to the living room, automatically turning on the television and lowered its volume to provide background noise, to help with the uneasiness that pervaded his and Miki's shared silence.
Kai stretched briefly before heading towards the windows once more. He had no interest in the televison program being aired, preferring instead to watch people outside go about their daily lives. For that was what he did: he observed. So used was he to this that he'd thought nothing of staying silent and just watching others go by, doing whatever it is they fancied. Regardless, he was also used to his sister being the type to observe, and afterwards comment, or at least have something to say at any time.
Was that it, then? Kai frowned as his mind flashed on that thought. Had Miki thought it best if she tried to be more like him in terms of nature, that being quiet as well would bring more harmony - or whatever it is she thought was lacking - to their relationship as siblings? If that were the case...the slate-haired teen sighed.
What could have caused Miki to think of such a thing? If there was one belief he subscribed to, it was that balance was essential. True, it was something he'd picked up from Rei, but he found that, more and more, it was that balance he sought - in blading, in particular. However, he knew that first and foremost, the principle of two opposing forces in balance - yin and yang - applied to life. One must be careful of anything excessive. As far as Kai was concerned, he was mostly yang - quiet, contemplative, and perhaps a bit dark - whereas Miki was mostly yin - almost his polar opposite, even though they were twins. In their differences, though, that was where the balance lay; their differing traits complemented the other, hence a sense of harmony between them.
Perhaps it was the long absence of each from the other that had caused a slight disruption in this, as for the longest time, yang had gone with yin - that is, Kai had gone without Miki - and vice versa. It was possible that because of this, both had grown unaccustomed to being balanced out by another person. At this point, the fiery blader turned away from the window - he no longer found the view interesting - and went to sit on the couch; he could see Miki the moment she emerged from the kitchen that way. Following his train of thought, if indeed the disruption was caused by their separation, then that would mean he'd have had a more difficult time adjusting to life with his sister. Instead, he had adapted to it quite nicely, with nary a snag along the way.
It dawned on him that Miki's current efforts to change who she was in order to 'please him' - she had said as much, although implicitly - were also a likely cause for the 'bad air' that permeated the room. If that was it, then, the tricky part lay in convincing the blue-haired girl of otherwise, that she didn't have to change for him.
-----------------------------
"...how much farther, Kei?" Nia piped up, shifting her backpack from one shoulder to the other.
Kei turned and smiled apologetically. "Gomen. I should have warned you there was some...climbing involved. But its not too far from here." The brunette turned right at a corner just then, before adding "In fact, its just up ahead,"
Okay, so the momentary pause was just for added effect, like the stuff one saw in movies. Kei was bored, and she was with people she really knew; she could afford to be 'dramatic' or 'cheesy' at least once, considering how she acted around them usually. The group walked a few more feet before Kei stopped them at what was apparently the gate, because she took out a key and unlocked it, then stepped inside, holding the gate open for her friends.
"Its... big," Hiromi commented, taking in the two-storey dwelling with what seemed to be a balcony at one side. "Well, bigger than most private homes you'd find here,"
Kei colored a bit. This was the reason - or one of them, at least - she didn't like inviting other people over. One of the first comments on the house were all the same - that it was 'big'. "Well...my parents thought they'd be living with at most three children, and some other relatives. But as it turned out, I was the only kid, and the relatives we thought would move in soon managed to find a house of their own..."
Here she opened the front door, again waiting until her companions were inside before closing and locking it. "Make yourselves at home," she invited, indicating the pale raw sienna couches and matching armchairs. "It seems the we're the only ones here at the moment, so I'll go get refreshments." At this, the amethyst-eyed teen went into the kitchen, while her three friends, having nothing better to do, sat down - Hiromi sat in one armchair while Ruri and Nia occupied the couch - and looked around at the parts of the first floor they could see. This was their first time in Kei's house, so it was a bit understandable that they'd be curious.
Kei came back out soon enough, bringing iced tea and sandwiches. These she laid on the coffee table, and, after the drinks were handed out and everyone had eaten even half a sandwich, small talk ensued.

Miki managed to finish her dishwashing and went to dry her hands with a small hand towel. She snuck a glance at her twin brother, looking out at the glass window by the living room. Sighing to herself, she unrolled her long sleeves and took off her apron to hang it back again by the hook.
Smoothing the blue bangs off her face, she decided to sit by the couch and watch the program on television. But, her thoughts were too occupied to actually listen at the program. She was merely staring at moving screen, her mouth silent. But her thoughts were racing.
“Guess it’s better this way. Oniichan is used to living alone. Used to the quiet. I guess I am too. Since I was always alone in my room in the Abbey. But Diana was there. So she kept me company through all those years I was away from Oniichan. But I guess, it is rather comfortable this way. Now I understand how Oniichan feels when he is thinking to himself. It is kind of relaxing, just imagining you are the only person in the world”.
But then Miki blinked. It was true. It was relaxing and calm. More peaceful and serenity. Well…only when she was alone. But with her brother, she always liked to ask him questions and just say things randomly. For her, it was a mixture of attention and excitement. She felt the need to get her brother’s attention. She also felt excited because it was her brother she was talking to. It was rather the same for Diana but she often preferred Kai.
It was because of she loved her brother that she wished that she spent every single minute with him and always talked him, even if only random and she gets worried if he was silent. Now she understood. But sometimes…she had to do some sacrifices. She loved her brother yes, but there are times…he wants to be alone. Alone with himself. Alone with his thoughts. Alone with his mind. Just thinking about how she always talked to Kai made her feel like she was selfish. So right now…it was best for her to keep quiet and leave her older twin to himself.
Kai was highly aware when Miki sat down on the couch, still as silent as when he left her in the kitchen.
True, the slate-haired teen was glad that his sister was willing to act differently, in order not to make him uncomfortable, but it most likely meant that she was uncomfortable. And he didn't want that.
The maroon-eyed teen glanced in Miki's direction, a bit surprised to see a nonetheless relaxed expression on her face. He was sure, though, that it wasn't from watching whatever was being aired on the television set. The phoenix blader was a little confused now on what to do; he was getting a little worried, seeing Miki so quiet - he seriously wasn't used to that - he couldn't exactly force her to say anything if that was what she wanted, just as she had done for him.
Besides, with siblings and other people one was close to, conversation wasn't needed all the time to convey the intimacy of the relationship; sometimes, just being with each other in the same room, in close proximity to the other, was all that was necessary.
((And the Hiwatari twins now fall silent. xD ))

Miki continued her silence, still staring blankly at the television in front of her. She was sure by now that her brother was thinking, but of course; knowing Kai…she doesn’t have a clue what he was thinking about. Not even their parents.
Her brother was a tough nut to crack. Sometimes, even she has difficulty trying to understand his thoughts no matter how hard she tried. She often wished she has Diana’s mind-reading abilities. It would have probably been very easy to just take at least one peek at her brother’s mind.
Still thinking, she started to unconsciously toy with her fingers. Fidgeting with her fingers meant she was uneasy or thinking very deeply. And that was something that Kai notices of her…seeing that he always manages to read her thoughts without having to ask her directly.
Miki was getting...fidgety. It was as plain as day. Noticing this, Kai shook his head mentally and somehow leaned deeper into the couch. Then he sighed and ran a hand through his slate-blue bangs, before half turning towards his twin, poised to speak.
"Look, Miki. I know you're trying to be less chatty so you won't upset me, and I...appreciate that. But its not you. If...you feel you want - or need - to talk to me, then do so. I never told you not to talk, did I?"
Well, that was a mouthful. But it did say what he wanted to say.

Miki grasped her lower arms with her fingers and practically squeezed them. Her brother yet again saw right through her. It’s always like that anyway. Kai will see through her act and tell her not to do it. But sometimes, she wished that she can be hard to read. She didn’t know the exact reason why but she just felt like she wanted to.
Standing up and pausing for a moment. Before she walked away, she spoke a single word “Gomenasai” and went towards the bedroom, opened the door and closed it gently.
She didn’t really know why she did that. Still standing and leaning against the door, she sighed softly and went to take the towel she used last night and took out another pair of clothes. A no-sleeved stripped shirt with blue, cyan and green shades and dark brown shorts. She went inside the shower and closed the door.
Kai straightened, blinked, then frowned at Miki's reaction. What the hell was that? he thought, staring blankly at the closed door. Of all the things the blue-haired girl could have done, that was the least he'd been expecting. So it went without saying that he was concerned about what was going through Miki's mind at that moment.
After a few minutes, he irritably shut the television off - background noise or not, it was still noise, and knowing something might have been troubling Miki just made it worse. Then Kai got up and went over to the bedroom, knocking twice before reaching for the knob, turning it, and opening the door. He peered inside.
"...Miki?"
No answer, so he called a little louder. "Miki?"
He noticed that her towel - the one she'd used last night - was gone, meaning she was in the bathroom. That meant if he wanted to talk to her - try and find out what, if anything, was wrong - it would have to wait until she was done with her bath. Kai frowned again, reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose - as though to stave off a pending headache - then sighed and closed the door. He knew Miki was used to him being silent, so he knew, too, that this wasn't how she felt when he'd clam up. But to have it the other way around...it was so... different.

Hot, oozing water was pouring down on her blue-haired crown. Looking down at the white-tiled floor, Miki’s mind continued to race. “Was it worth it? Did I manage to make Oniichan like me? Or was it wrong? I was always skeptical about my decisions. Was it truly a good thing? To remain silent for Oniichan? To be unpredictable? To be able to hide what I am thinking? Was it good enough?”
Miki gave a deep sigh and started to soap her body, but her mind was still thinking on the same thing. “It could be the best thing for now. Oniichan must be angry. I know he is. Somehow…I feel like it was for the better, even if one part of me thinks it’s wrong. What should I do?”
“Go back to the way you used to be”
“Drizzard…Is that you?”
“Yes, it is me. Listen Miki, you need not to be afraid of what your brother might think. Even he isn’t use to you acting like this. Heed his words. You do not need to keep your voice from him.”
“But he said he appreciated it. So there is no problem at all”
“Never make outside appearances fool you, my child. Remember….your brother can be also easy to read.”
“Drizzard…Drizzard?....Drizzard??”
Miki sighed and rinsed herself. Guess Drizzard gave her the silent treatment. But she needed to try and solve her problem on her own. But what good is a solution if parts of the answers are not given to solve it? Sighing once more, Miki turned off the tap and started to dry herself. Wrapping the towel around her body, she decided to go out and lay down for the moment.
Once more, Kai found himself on the couch, staring up at the ceiling, waiting. He couldn't hear the shower from where he was, so he had no clue whether it was all right to enter the bedroom or not.
Miki's earlier demeanor, however, gave him pause. Was he usually that curt - with her and others - as well? He'd been like this for so long, he never really noticed specifically how he acted - or reacted - to various situations. Of course, it was his personality and one didn't usually reflect on that. Still, though...
Presently, he got up, one hand shoved into a pants pocket, and went back to the bedroom. Once more, he knocked. This time, he would wait for a reply from within; no telling what Miki was doing at the moment, and he didn't need - nor did he want - embarrassment adding to their situation.
((OOC://Sayka, I got a bone to pick with you. I've noticed that there are times you change your avator soon after I change mine, usually with one to three similar elements. Care to elaborate on that? ...and no, I dont't think it has anything to do with this 'coincidence' bull. Like now: rough canvas jacket, gift of the gods (cerberus), and the Naruto kunai. Miki continued her train of thoughts as her eyes closed from the outside world. Right now, she wished that no one should disturb her. Thinking about everything was making her feel more calm and relaxed. She rolled to the right side of the bed and continued to race with her thoughts.
-----------------------------
Diana finally woke up from her nap. Man, just a few minutes or an hour of napping and she felt like months have passed. Must be from the paint ball fight. She then blinked and sensed Miki’s energy pale. Sending a message to Kai, her eyes glowed again.
MESSAGE: Hey, Kai. Miki’s energy seems to decrease. Did something happen? END MESSAGE
-----------------------------
Kai blinked. He hadn't recieved any telepathic messages from Diana for a while now, so he'd kind of forgotten what it was like, literally having another voice in one's own head. He recovered soon enough and sent one back, knowing the dark-haired girl was waiting for his reply.
//I think...she fell asleep after taking a shower. Sit tight; I'll check on her.//
With that, he cracked the door open and peeked in. Indeed, Miki was curled up on her side, eyes closed in apparent slumber. But...was that...
Kai blanched, then quickly pulled out and shut the door. Dammit... Miki just happened to be clad in only her bath towel. Sure, they were siblings. Sure, they'd taken baths together before, but as kids, not as teens. He took a couple of breaths to calm himself down. Just when he was hoping not to encounter an embarassing situation-!
//Sh-she's fine, Diana. I was right; she's sleeping...// Kai finally added, once he was back on the couch. He thought it best to leave his sister to her rest.

Diana blinked and glared suspiciously to herself.
MESSAGE: You’re stuttering Kai. What the hell did you see anyway, don’t you dare lie to me or I will use my scanner on you. END MESSAGE
-----------------------------
Kai sighed. He'd been hoping Diana wouldn't ask. But she did, and now he had to reply.
//...Let's just say its obvious now just how tired Miki is, since she didn't bother to change properly before falling asleep...// Kai couldn't really say outright that he Miki practically unclothed, could he? Heck no. Seeing such a thing was embarrassing enough; to have to tell someone was just... ugh.
But damn, that reply sounded...pathetic, somehow. Of course, that could just be his opinion, but you never knew.
Meanwhile, back in the bedroom, Miki blinked her eyes softly and looked at the door. “Oniichan..?” she silently thought to herself while rubbing some sleep away from her eyes. She looked down to notice she was only in a towel when she suddenly fell asleep. Blushing softly, she quickly went to the drawer to get pull out some clothes and quietly went to dress herself.
-----------------------------
"...You guys don't mind sharing one room? All four of us?" Kei asked as she went to the cabinet that held extra bedding, pillows, and blankets. She wanted to make sure before laying out the futon - never mind that it was still quite early. It would, in fact, make preparing for bed later on less of a hassle. In reply, Nia and Ruri smiled, and Hiromi - who was standing nearby - punched her playfully on the arm.
"Don't worry, Kei," the auburn-haired girl said. "I don't think any of us move around a lot while asleep - not as much as Takao does, at least. "Besides, your room is certainly big enough..."
The brunette returned the punch, smiling, then took three futon from the cabinet and laid them, still folded next to her bed. "Well, as long as you're sure. Anyway... you guys want music? The player's over there, next to my desk. Just...pop in any CD you want."
At that, both Ruri and Nia, who had been sitting on the bed, made a dash for the CD player and Kei's CD rack.
"Kei, do you have any of Ayumi Hamasaki's stuff?"
"Hamasaki? Forget her. Got anything by Kotoko, or Koda Kumi?"
Hiromi sighed and covered her face with one hand. "Ohh~ boy..."
Kei looked sheepish as she returned to the cabinet to retrieve pillows and blankets. "...maybe I shouldn't have mentioned music...huh?"
"...you think?"
-----------------------------
Houka grinned as she retrieved her blade, finally moving it to her pocket along with her launcher. She'd been perfecting a new launch for the past hour or so, and she felt that it was enough for the day.
Well...a new launch...and probably a new attack, the sea green-eyed blader thought, remembering the new motions her blade had taken when she launched it during that last 'round'.
The auburn-haired teen jumped down off the platform and went over to the bench where she'd left her bag and her earlier purchases. Swinging both over one shoulder, then went to the door of that training room and went out into the hallway, not at all surprised to find it noisier than when she'd come in. It was a little past noon, after all; most were free by that time.
Finding her way to the entrance wasn't a problem, as she'd chosen a training room that was quite near to it. Getting back to the apartment was what troubled her, as she hadn't exactly been able to see where to go, and her trip from apartment to downtown to the headquarters had been by trial and error - and again, she hadn't paid attention. At least, she hadn't been as attentive as she felt she should have been.
"Oh, well..." she muttered, glancing left and right, and then deciding to head for the right. "I've still got time, anyway..."

Diana had to blink several times before she finally answered back to Kai.
MESSAGE: Whoah…uh..I-I see…well, she probably is changed by now. Her energy came back to full health. END MESSAGE
At the tone of Diana's mental voice, Kai had to smirk. The girl sounded surprised; it wouldn't be too much of a guess to say she was shocked, even. But reaction aside, knowing that Miki was now awake - and probably fully clothed this time - made him get up from the couch for a third try.
//I see...thanks for the info flash.//
As this was going on outside, in the living room, Miki sat on the bed, fully clothed, and went to drying her hair. Still rubbing some sleep from her eyes, she had to blink a bit to get rid of the sting. Sometimes rubbing your eyes can hurt a bit.
Kai knocked, thrice this time, and called out, making his voice just a little louder to make sure the ice phoenix wielder heard him. "Miki? I'm coming in, okay?"

Miki tensed a bit then relaxed. “It’s only Oniichan.” She relieved herself and placed the towel on her lap. “Hai Oniichan. You can enter” Miki called out.
Hearing the faint reply, Kai breathed a sigh of relief - Miki was awake, and most likely dressed - before opening the door and peering around the edge. "So...you're up..." As her brother came peeked in and came inside, Miki sat in a more comfortable position so her neck wont have to look back “Is…there anything I can do for you Oniichan?”
Kai said nothing until he, too, was seated on the bed. "Is...something wrong? You were really quiet earlier," the slate-haired teen began. "That, and the way you reacted when I... said that it was okay for you to talk, or something along those lines, anyway."
Lame... he was thinking, even as the words poured from his mouth. But really, there was no other way to ask it without sounding negative about it. Still, though, there could have been another way to 'open' the conversation; he just hadn't thought about it. In any case, he'd said it. Now, to see if Miki would reply - and how she'd reply.
