Elvenria Princellah Elvenria Faith broke the surface of the water, shielding her face with her right arm as she looked at the sun to determine the time. Tournaments starts around now, she thought. She had registered earlier, and had arranged for the sliding floor to be moved back for her turn she she wouldn't have to get out of the water. Thankfully the staff could keep secrets; but their memory of her mermaid form would disappear a few hours afterwards anyway, as would the memory of her opponents and that of spectators. That had been organised. All they would remember was a mermaid. Perhaps those who knew her human form a little would recognise her Pokemon, her voice, her hair. But that couldn't be helped. She'd deal with that later. Why do I have to hide, anyway? she asked herself, swimming along the surface of the lake. ~Do you want to be captured?~ her subconcious retorted icily. ~Do you want to be put in a tank with glass walls five centimetres thick? To be gawked at by humans? Have your photo taken? Fed human products?~Faith shook her head, clearing her mind of the nagging voice. She knew it all too well; just sometimes, just for a moment, she wished she had someone, someone who she didn't have to hide from. Someone who would know her for what she was, who wouldn't go running off to a museum with photos, or flee in terror of experiencing a difference. Someone who would stay her friend, who wouldn't boast of having a mermaid as a friend and use her as a trophy. Someone who would listen, understand. Someone who could keep a secret. Someone who would wait. Someone who could accept. Someone....Hailey walked outside after she finished registering for the tournament. I should train my pokemon more, she thought. She starts to walk around for a bit. As she glances at the beautiful scenery she's seeing; she spots a beautiful, crystal blue, pond. Inside the pond, she sees a ... creature, she thought. Hailey has never seen anything like it before. What's that, she thought. She takes a closer look from far away, and sees it has a tail. "Is that a... a mermaid?" Hailey decides to walk up to her, but keeping her distance in case. She doesn't want to scare her. "That ...that face ...is that.. that can't be! Is that Faith" She ponders for a bit. Seeing as she resembles Faith, she goes right up to her. "Hi, are you... by any chance... Faith?" "You look a lot like a friend I know. The only difference is you have a tail." Faith turned abruptly, filling the water with a cloud of bubbles. Large eyes looked almost pleadingly up at Hailey for a few moments; then she was gone, leaving no trace except for a tiny trail of bubbles, and a fleeting memory. Hailey stood there stunned after what had happened. She was afraid she said something wrong that would of hurt her feelings. "Oh well, whats said is said. I can't reverse time, only apologize for the mistakes I've made." Hailey decides to walk away from the pond and continue her exploring, still wondering about what she had just seen.

With two hours left until her turn in the tournament, Faith took the winding path to the sea, leaving the clear freshwater streams behind as she slipped into the briny ocean tide. She propelled herself downwards, to the deepest Deeps. The hidden cove of the sea, so deep, so dark that no human would ever dare to go. It also helps that humans and their craft can't withstand a tenth of the pressure, she mused as she reached her goal. There was a single, gleaming pearl that lay undisturbed in a large clamshell. Faith picked it up, running the tip of her index finger over the smooth surface. It was small, about half the size of an average marble.
Faith had always kept this safe, as it was her most important posession. At the age of ten, every mermaid was given a Mermaid Pearl - a special stone that had enough power to give one human the pleasures of an underwater realm. Most of her friends had given their pearls to human males they loved, or permanently turn their tail into human legs. Faith was different. She kept this pearl for someone, the best friend she would eventually meet. The one she knew would love and care for the ocean, the one who would be able to keep things a secret.

Nyuh. Faith will eventually give someone the special pearl wink If anyone wants it, that is. I'm willing to draw the mertail for whoever gets the pearl, if you don't want to do it yourself!

Faith glided back through the waves, deciding that maybe it would be better if she didn't attend the tournament as a mermaid. She could survive on land, after all, and it seemed that someone had already recognised her. It would be a mess if more people realised who she was.
She found a quiet spot in the lake and left the water, her tail immediately becoming legs as her clothes materialised back onto her body. Her hair dried a little as the seaweed vanished, and she ran back to the stadium, where she arranged to enter as a normal trainer, after making sure the staff had forgotten about all the mermaid business.

A tail like a mermaids has popped out and she was thinking about what was in the water. Wait, could that be Faith. The only different thing this mermaid has thats different is a tale. "Faith, hi. Is that you? Just curious" Ooc: Eep, a little late o.o what do I do? sweatdrop
