PetitChat I have the best band-lationship story ever. In May, my high school band went to Disneyland. I had a few friends there, including a trumpet player I'd known for a couple years. I had never really liked him before, but I dunno... I flirted with him the entire time! Anyway... long story short, the grade 11 trumpet player, and I, the senior flautist at the time, had some "fun" in his hotel room our last night there. We ended up dating for three months. biggrin I just thought of something to add to my lovely story. Our band teacher totally knew there was something up after that... and we figure he probably knew it all started on our disney trip.

I've only had two "band-lationship" in high school. A flutist. Then the second chair trumpeter from the school in the same town. Although we'd known each other since elementary school. Then one in college. He was a trombone player. two other guys I dated one played trombone in high school. The guy that I've been dating now for 1 1/2 years was the band captain and played trombone too. whee
Although I had a MAJOR crush on a trumpet player in high school. *swoon* redface

All my b/f's have been in band. That's a requirement. Aaaand... the last one was a trumpet player. And you know what they say about trumpet players.... lol

Almost all my friends date mostly just other band people... we have all this gf/bf drama going on all the time, with people breaking up and getting together, and all that other stuff. The only thing is, you're friends with practically everyone.

In my high school we call it "band-cest" (incest, in band, get it? blaugh ) there are actually like 5 or 6 going right now in band, and i think its funny. You would never think there would be too many, and yet this past year a bunch of seniors just decided to start going out, which is funny because most of them have known each other for a while. who knows why they chose now.

Band romance isn't very comon in our band. I have a friend who plays the tenor who has a giant crush on the alto next to her, and a couple other people have suspected crushes on other band members. I dated the French Horn for awhile, but then he broke up with me. All of my past crushes have been band members, and I think that I would only go out with someone in the band, just because music is such a big part of my life if my boyfriend wasn't in the band we'd have nothing in common.

my friend who plays teh flute is going out with an alto sax. player.
I myself like a trumpet/ french horn player...
I play teh clarinet. He's a pretty good friend, and everyone (but him) seems to know.. sweatdrop
and we are constantly at war
who is better?
of course, I win blaugh
but other then that, not that I know of...

this may seem off topic, but people who you have had "bandcest" with, if you decided to play a duet, would it sound good?
like a clarinet player dating a french horn... clarinet/F horn duet?

Angela + River = Clarinet + Trumpet
Brooke + James M. = Guard + Trumpet
Amy B. + Zach E. = Alto Saxophone + French Horn
Chantal + (freshman I don't know) = Clarinet + Percussion
Jammy + JR = Percussion + Trumpet
Laura Mo. + Jordan = Alto Saxophone + Baritone Saxophone
Riley + Clark = Guard + Trumpet
Nicole + John L. = Guard + Trumpet
Breanna + Josh B. = French Horn + Graduated Clarinet
Cassidy + John K. = Guard + Percussion
That's all I can think of for right now. I'll keep this updated!
EDIT: We do have a lot of band-cest, but with cases like Laura Mo. and Jordan's, since they both play the same instrument (both alto when marching) we call it in-section.

haha im in a "Band-lationship" right now. see my boyfriend plays the clarinet and i play trumpet. big difference there, we're often teased that we should switch instruments cause they think trumpet is "manly" (haha right) and clarinet is "girly". but their just full of it. we've been goiing strong for about 4 months so its pretty kewl.
we have a no PDA rule at our school (which sux but then again who follows the rule) and our band director let it slip for the first few weeks we started going out (we slip in hugs, ect.) then we started to get in trouble and now he sends death glares at us. he came over to us one time and put his hands behind his back and said "this means hands to ourselves kiddies" so it was a WFT?! moment lol .ppl give us crap about our alter-instrument personalities but they shouldnt complain since we're both 1st chair.

we have a few band-lationships in our band
right now i can only think of 1 though
i was in a band-lationship last year
and we were the subject of a few jokes
and our BD totaly singled us out in front of the whole band
cuz i play the bassoon and the guy i was dating plays baritone
and our BD had us sitting next 2 eachother
before she found out we were dating
then one day (after she found out) when we were having a test
i said something to him and she was like
"i know you to are going out but you cant jepardize the whole band for it"
she thought i was sitting next to him cuz we were going out
but she moved me over there
so after that she made me move back to my old seat
and i was i little mad at her
i kept asking ppl if they remember her moving me
then there was the time we walked into the band room holding hands
and she came up to us almost yelling
"pda is not ok pda is not ok"
looking back its not as embarassing as it was then
and the first thing i said was pretty bad
so yea thats it

yes...yes we do... I happen to be the..well..one of the most popular "Band-lationships" whenever im in one (all 5 of mine have been them). we always have at least one...whether its secret or not ^_^ cool
