A problem here is that your lover (I'm just gonna use that since it's shorter to type than alternatives; no offense meant towards you).
I was once in a relationship with a highly unstable person like that. It seemed like they never knew what they wanted, and one minute things would be great, and the next she'd be having second thoughts and leaving. Now obviously I felt some pretty deep feelings for her. But I basically told her that the relationship was no longer to my benefit, and that, though I cared for her, she needed to sort out her life before I could be involved in it; before she was ready to let me into it.
Not to deter you, but we never did get back together, she decided against me, but everything turned out fine for me> I met Ashten, my fiancee, who I've been madly in love with for the past three years!
I don't want to pressure you, but something you may want to mention to her is that she needs some space to sort her life out, and you're willing to give it to her. In turn, her sorting things out will give you a chance to see whether or not you're better off in the end with or without. Just because she's away deciding what she wants, doesn't mean you can't do the same. Her leaving may have been her trying to do this on her own. Especially if you've been together for a long time, people tend to get more attached to the "idea" of being together than they are to the actual person, and her break from routine could have retarded her self discovery that she set out to get when she left earlier. Just a suggestion, it's ultimately your life.

I will... but... I dunno I'm worried I might be pushing it. Also new random issue: My friend told me yesterday, this ismy best friend ever, she's like my sister even, but she told me she wants to be a dominatrix... the thing is I can oddly see her as one and it's just... odd. I kinda got quiet and I didn't know how to reply and she kinda spelled out the job description and she seems really into it... it's kinda odd. Is she single? blaugh Just kidding.

We're not telling you how to live your life, we're giving you advice from OUR lives and what made OUR lives hurt so you don't have to have that hurt. It pains us. I wouldn't have believed someone elling me this stuff when I was in your shoes but now I wish I had.
