Tsurai rubbed his eye again, and then took his hand from it, finally able to see, albeit only blurry images from it. "But none of mine are material!" He turned around, not following Isiah just yet. "I know it's hard to quit smoking, but I quit all sorts of drugs I was addicted to.. And you know how screwed up I am.. Mentally, I mean... So why can't you do it?"
That was more of Tsurai thinking outloud than anything. As soon as he said it, he regretted it.

"Because I don't want to." He was going to be very simple about that fact. He licked his lips, feeling dry and thirsty after sleeping, even if it was only for a short while. "That's why."

Tsurai frowned. "But..." He couldn't understand why anyone would want to keep doing any type of drugs. Everyone he knew that had done them, any of them, had always ended up turning into some a*****e. And Tsurai really liked Isiah. He didn't want Isiah turning into an a**.
"Fine.." Tsurai said to himself. He'd just have to deal with it. Like the Denzien thing, he just had to keep silent about it. Tsurai kept his eyes on the ground and followed Isiah, the rain soaking into his hair and making it cling to his face. Tsurai may have cut his hair, but he left the the long bangs. He liked those, but now they were being a nuisance; he didn't want any bad rain in his eyes again, so he had to keep pushing his bangs away from his face.

Isiah turned to him and frowned. "I'm not an addict, kid. Or. I wasn't, not in the vault. Cigarettes help calm me down and keep me grounded. That's all." He groaned, pushing now wet hair back from his forehead. If he didn't shave it off soon, he'd start having a nice curly afro again. Not a good idea. He scritched along his chin. Probably needed to work on that, too.
"It really bugs you, doesn't it?"

Tsurai stopped, running his fingers through his hair and tucking all the bangs he could behind his ears. He was shivering and wet, and frowning, and nervous..
"No.. Not. I mean. Not if you need it. I don't.." He looked away, nervously running his hand through his hair again. "Yes." He finally said, softly. "Yeah, but. But I can deal with it. If you need it."
God, it was so friggin cold.. He didn't know how much longer he could stand there and act like he was fine before simply screaming about how damn cold it was. He was definately going to get sick after this. Definately. He wanted to just curl in a ball infront of a fire, and was actually looking forward to another extremely hot day, just so he could get out of this horrid, horrid cold.

Isiah saw him shivering, slinging a thick arm around him before leading him back to Braeden, who was halfway through one of the stolen cigarettes. He yanked his jacket out from behind Braeden's head, lettingthe older denzien's head fall back onto the duffle with a thump, before wrapping it around Tsurai.
"Why does it bug you?"
Isiah simply pretended that Braeden wasn't even there to be trifled with.

Tsurai gave a wary look to Braeden before graciously taking the jacket and wrapping it around himself like a blanket as he sat down, knees to his chest. "Jesus. Thank you." You sated to Isiah, putting his head between his legs for a second, not really feeling any warmer.
"It just. It Does. I know I grew up bad and all, but I'm against drugs.. Of any kind. And it's.. It doesn't matter." He shook his head, trying to curl himself into a tighter ball while he rocked back and forth. "It really doesn't. You shouldn't care what I think. I don't think that much, anyway."

Braeden laughed, through the cigarette. "Brian's kid? You gotta be kiddin' me."
Isiah cut a harsh glare to Braeden, growling. "Shut the ******** up. Nobody's talking to you." He pulled the carton out of his pocket and tossed it to Braeden. "Keep em." He turned back toward Tsurai, sitting down next to him, rubbing up and down on his back, hoping the friction from the jacket on his skin would warm him up. "If you can stop flippin' out and punching people, I can stop smoking. Okay? Deal?"

"Says the man who doesn't believe in his won religion," Tsurai shot back. He stopped rocking when he felt the jacket moving, and it took him a second to figure out why.
Once his brain registered that Isiah was doing something to his back, Tsurai turned to see, but only for a second, before looking forward and down again. He could hardly feel it, but what he did feel felt good.
"I'm trying to. It's not like it's easy trying to get rid of a self-defense mechanism. Even though it's gotten me in more trouble most of the time.." He sighed and laid his head on his knees.
"I guess I'll just have to live with everyone smoking. Not like I haven't done it before."

Isiah spared a short, curt laugh, shaking his head back and forth, continuing with rubbing Tsurai's back. Braeden half-watched with semi-interest. He was beginning to piece a story together.. but whether it was true or not was yet to be seen..
"Just make an effort, okay? We both will."

"Heh. I am. It's not working." Tsurai was still cold, and his mind was wandering now, so he couldn't feel what Isiah was doing anymore. Curse bad nerve endings!
"I'm sure if I hang out with Braeden a little more it'll go away eventually."

Isiah frowned- deeply, but only for a moment- he caught Braeden watching him, and suddenly felt very nervous.
The older man blew smoke out of the corner of his mouth, eyelids half shut, eyebrow quirked, smiling quizically at Isiah. He was beginning to think that Isiah's mother syndrome ran way more deeply than he had previously thought.. more deeply than Tsurai knew.
Isiah's hand finally left Tsurai's back, shoving it into his hip pocket conspicuously. He looked nervous, now, twitchy and quick moving. "I'm not sure Braeden will help, since he fostered an outburst.."
Braeden snorted. "Don't worry, Mama, I promise to have him back before dark."

Tsurai sat up straight and shot a glare to Braeden. Then he turned around to see Isiah looking embarrassed and angry at himself.
The eighteen year old lowered his voice to a whisper, concerned. "Isiah..?"

Isiah raised his boot to Braeden and thudded him in the gut- not a fast strike, but a forceful one, meant to knock the air out of him. "You shut the ******** up. How'd you live so long with a mouth like that?!"
Braeden grunted, eyes tearing up in their corners from the intense pain. He didn't bother to answer. He just kept smiling, the same knowing smile.
"I'm fine," Isiah insisted, suspiciously without cue. "Fine."

Tsurai growled. "Isiah! Haven't you beat up on him enou-" He cut himself off, lowering his voice to a whisper again. "Will you come with me to talk somewhere else?"
The rain seemed to be dying down, but it was still going on. He wondered if the things in the duffelbag would get soaked.
Regardless, Tsurai stood up and looked down at Isiah, still concerned. "Please?" He urged.
