(Might I add Cookie this is an odd rule. Why do we have it?)
PostPosted: Mon Apr 09, 2007 9:20 am

Front Page Rules
Make sure that every post you make is AT LEAST seven sentences. If you can't make a post this long, then you aren't a literate, so get out. I don't care what you say. Just. Get. Out.

It's not odd. In case you forgot, this Guild is for Literate role players. And only literate role players.

No exceptions.

It's not that hard to make a post this long. Just make sure each post is seven sentences long. If I see another post in here less than that, you will be banned for one week. If it happens again, you'll be banned for two weeks. Lets just hope it doesn't get to three.

((eeks! No bans . . . they're the devil.))

Kaden stumbled backwards dizzily and kept his distance long enough to see straight again. Chrono was good, he had to admit to himself – better than he. He never would have thought that such a quiet and timid appearing person could show you up to anything you did. It was interesting. He didn’t seem all that proud of his skills as well – the way he kept apologizing.

Blaise was able to hold her own against Rosette. But Rosette was catching on quick and she was easy to teach. Blocking Rosette’s weapon with her own she expertly twisted her sheathed blade and pushed it under Rosette’s elbow. She lifted up hoping to hit it to make Rosette’s sword arm falter.

All the while Nayati stood and watched the four. He smiled to himself thinking about the group. Blaise seemed graceful in her work – while Kaden was as well he was slightly less successful. Rosette was very good for not really having been trained before; unless she was and of this he didn’t know about. Chrono was an interesting one – powerful but not so quick to show it giving himself a bit of a surprise antic he probably didn’t even know about. The former Lieutenant looked to the four with admiration – they were the future of the Foresters and they would help bring peace to the land, something no one had experienced for generations.

Rosette grunted with effort to press her own weight against hers and Blaise's. Getting the few inches more she needed, she picked one of her feet up off the ground and swung it at Blaise, trying to kick her in the side.

"You're alright?" Chrono asked, still standing at the ready for the next attack,"You... can keep going...?"

“I’ll . . . I’ll be fine.” Kaden said shaking the dizziness from his head, “Just a little longer, I can take it.”

Kaden took his covered blade and pulled a small trick that might catch Chrono and help Kaden get a better hand on the situation. He hoped it worked though because Chrono was keen and could get him halfway through though the form was quick. Even so, Kaden could recover quickly he just wouldn’t be as good off as he would be if it worked.

Blaise saw the kick coming and blocked it, then instinctively used earth elementals to shift the small patch of ground beneath Rosette’s standing foot to trip her up. Immediately realizing her mistake she stepped back to let Rosette recover should the earth work cause her to falter.

“Oops.” She cringed, “My bad, sorry. I forgot I wasn’t supposed to do that.”

"Heh, you're trying that now,eh?" Rosette asked, taking a few steps back to get some distance between them,"You know, when you were sparring with that p***k before I remember you doing some kind of projectile magic on 'em. Let me show you what my baby can do."

She untied the wrappings around the hilt and drew it out the blade. The strange yellow metal glinted dangerously.

"I want to make sure I still got it. My arm hasn't been the same since that spy went at me. Gimme your best shot and I'll show you why I've been such a pain in the a** to the higher ups."

Gefton watched the trees moving in the high wind that was blowing as rain pelted harder against the tent roof. He heard the breathing of Bane behind him and turned to look at the meditating man who was conjuring up this tempest. To control the heavens thought Gefton slowly, was that not a power the Emperor possessed not? Gefton sighed as he turned back around to watch the world drown. He saw several of his men hualing the explosive balls into the woods, their bulks drapped in canvase to keep the water out. The forest was soaked but Gefton knew what was in those balls. He knee the catapults being built in the tents would fling those balls of unqunchable fire deep into the woods and the woods would burn all the hotter. For Bane's storm would cease instantly the signal was given and then the rain of lighting would begin. Gefton watched as the heaven's began to slow their tears and he knew it would all be over soon.

Blaise looked at Rosette skeptically but she trusted the girl. Giving the sword a glance she shrugged and took a step back. Kaden stepped back from Chrono and held up a hand to stop. He looked to the two girls curiously and watched.

“Alright,” she said, “But be careful. The last thing we need is for either of us to get badly hurt.”

Blaise took a breath as she brought her foot up and let her arms do the same. With a powerful thrust she dug her heel into the ground. The elemental force sent a shockwave through the ground causing the dirt to shift and crack and the trees around them groan in threat of shattering. Lifting a hand as a command to the earth, a large portion of ground lifted underneath Rosettes feet. Passing one hand over the other, Blaise sent a strong gust of wind to follow up then took the defense preparing for the counterattack.

Chrono watched worriedly as Rosette stood her ground, nearly faling over as they earth beneath her feet shifted.

She carefully turned on her heel of her foot, swinging the blade around her before plunging it into the shifting earth. The effect was... rather interesting.

The wind of Blaise's attack shifted instantly. As if she'd neer cast it at all, the wind turned and began to forcefully blow in her direction, while the effects that her magic had on the ground shifted as well, unsetlling and shkaing the earth beneath her feet insteand of Rosette.

Blaise quickly knelt and touched the shaking earth with a flat hand to stop the quakes. Just as quickly she pulled up a solid wall of earth to stop the rebounding wind. The air hit the earth shield so hard that it shattered it into many pieces. Blaise kept the remains in midair then cast them back at rosette at the same time as stirring up a cloud of dust to block the girl’s vision. Rosette was doing well protecting her front but Blaise wondered how she would fair to an attack from the back.

A distance behind Rosette was a creek with flowing water. Blaise reached out for this water element and brought the cool crystalline liquid rushing towards Rosette’s standing place. Things were going to get tricky, the mage knew, so she kept air constantly moving around her as a shield against any more attacks.

Rosette let out a string of loud curses, a normal response of her for thi sort of occasion. Typical of her attitude, was about to yell something at Blaise, but a small rock glanced off the side of her face, hinting to her what was coming. With the dust blocking her view, Rosette could only duck for now as many of the rocks went flying over her head.

She turned her head instinctively as she heard water splashing behind her. But because of the constantly swirling dust, she could see nothing.

"You've got to be kidding me!" She yelled, sheilding her eyes as she ran out of the dust swirling around her. Now she could see the water steadily sneaking up on her.

Rosette took her sword and touched it to one of her fingertips. The blade was sharp enough to cut her skin without much pressure. With that thin trail of blood running down its length of the blade, the strange, foreign runes along tis edge began to light up.

Rosette pointed her weapon at the water, haulting it for a moment before she gave it a long, violent wing. The water surged up like a rushing river, flying past Rosette and at Blaise. Caught up in her whirlwind, it circled her like a bubble.

"Is it just me, or do they seem to be taking this practice a bit far?" Chrono asked curiously.

Blaise watched Rosette, the girl's figure blurred by the water encircling her. Stopping the water swirling around her she kept the air sheild and made sure the water was readily available. Rosette was doing well against the elements Blaise was using, but what would happen when she introduced fire to the mixture?

Pulling a flint-stone from her pocket she struck it with the flat of her sword to make a spark. keeping the burning ember alive in mid-air she let it grow to a flame. She cast the flame to a bit of dry foliage near her to keep it alive and pulled a bit of the glow to her control. The fire danced around Blaise's fingers like a serpent and struck out towards Rosette in any fashion she pleased. Blaise kept control of the flame to make sure she wouldn't truly hurt her comrade but a little lick of heat would be enough for Rosette to know when she should get out of the way -- Rosette was quick and Blaise didn't push her farther than she knew the girl could go.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rosette ducked out of the way of the flames, the stench of burnt hair filling the air.
"You're not coming with a murderous intent..."Rosette said, "I can't be pushed unless you try that hard!"
Rosette took a swipe at the fire, the tendrils of flame circled her blade as she raced at Blaise, holding it out in front of her as she swiped at the water and wind mixed sheild. The effect kicked up and amazing amount of steam.
Rosette wasted no time, now she was the one blinding the other, and rushed through the wind shield at Blaise, nearly close enough to make direct contact.
Blaise ducked down and dodged Rosette by rolling to the side, her shield following her as she did so. So it was murderous intent she wanted? That could be arranged but not reluctantly.
“Alright, have it your way.” She said shortly.
Taking a deep breath, Blaise dismissed her shield and pulled her arms in tightly. Releasing her breath she pressed her hands out to her sides creating a bowl-like impression beneath her feet. Water filled the indent and pooled at her feet. The water would be a safety net for the both of them should something go wrong.
Blaise brought the ground beneath Rosette’s feet up to possibly twenty feet in the air and only gave her about four feet of standing room. With another quick flick of the wrist jagged spikes of hard earth erupted all around the platform making a fall more murderous than one without deadly spears. Bringing the fire back to her touch she gave a threatening lash out at Rosette with it but not close enough to hit her.
“Don’t fall.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rosette looked around her, she had to admit this was... a bit scary, but she knew this was for show.

"This won't work... you won't kill me and we both know that... If I were to jump off this right now, you'd help me." she said ssaid, sitting down on the edge of the pillar.

"Neither of us can really fight our best unless faced with that kind of ultimatum."

"Rosette has the biggest mouth, I swear..." Chrono cringed, "Shouldn't we break this up?"

Blaise sighed with a smile and folded her arms.

"Very true," she saild, "This is why I'm always reluctant to make dangerous attacks. If I were to hurt you then . . . well, we'd all be all be up to our necks in a lot of trouble. Understand that I go easy on you not because I think you can't handle it, but because if you really can't then the situation can become fatal."

Kaden gave Chrono a worried glance and nodded, "Yeah, we should stop them."

Nayati, seeing the two boy's intents, stepped up with Kaden.

"Blaise," Kaden called warningly, "It's about time you two called a quitts. You guys are getting a little too carried away. Now get Rosette down before someone gets hurt."

Blaise shot Kaden a derogatory look and Nayati broke in, "I have to side with Kaden on this. Things are getting too dangerous."

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Maybe I'll fight that guy sometime..." Rosette said quietly as she glanced down at Nayati, "But we should probably get ready for... the battle."
