Fushigi Yuugi was the first Watase creation I stumbled onto.
I read about it on loveofanime.com, then I asked my mom to buy me the first season on dvd. I loved it, then I bought some of the mangas and I really like them better. But I haven't bought them all yet. I need to though. @.@
I have volumes 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, and 12. sweatdrop

even tho some people say they don't like miaka, i think she's a good heroine person....I LOVE FUSHIGI YUUGI! like, literally...!

wow ok characters.
first of i heart heart heart Tama-Baby. i know it's predictable but i do.
After him 2. is Chichiri, his just to awesome. best munk ever.
3. is Tasuki, cuz without him FY would't be as funny and entertaining wich bring me to...
4. Nuriko god his awesome i cried 3 diferent times with his faith. wich ofcourse bring me to
5. Hotohori, he was the pritiest emperor ever! and wow was he so sweet.
6. Mitsukake, he was just awesome man... and lastly is chiriko he was ok.
Seriyu (or cereal as i call em)
altho nakago is evil his so hunky!! hehe.
And i heart tomo too. his so freaking funny, if any of you have watched the omake in the oni disc in english and hear his voice and laugh you know what i'm talknig about, "who is he calling a cackling queer?" rofl alays gets me.
also the twin, the good one i always get em confused so lets call him the flute boy. his so nice and adorable.
I do not like Soi sauce and i do not think she's pretty or hot or whatever.
or yui, i see her as a backstabing friend.
but then again i hate miaka too, she is so your typical damsal in distress the girl is just so anoying, always being careless always screwing up and always such a caward i blame all the deaths on her head.

I prefer Tamahome most of all. I think he was the best male lead character that Yuu Watase had created.

I think that Miaka added to the humor of the story. The way she was such a glut often made the sad scenes less sad. I'm not making any sense am I? sweatdrop

I don't like Miaka, partially cuz she's so clueless at the most serious moments. And she stole Hotohori stare My Hotohori. (yes, i'm obsessed.)
As for likes, you can guess Hotohori is my top #1 fave ^^ he's so pretty, and caring. Gorgeous personality, gorgeous looks, sad, lonely heart that needs filling . . . the perfect guy heart heart
Then it's Nuriko. I was crying buckets when he died, poor guy. He's almost like Hotohori, but the emperor is cooler ^^ Still, Nuriko's awesome.
3. Tasuki ha ha, he's so funny and cool. It's true, I agree. Tasuki gives Fushigi Yuugi it's humour. Plus, if you actually delve into his personality, he truly does have a heart of gold.
4. Chichiri! If I was any younger he could be my dad, and an uberly crazy cool dad he would be. Now, perhaps more of a cool brother ^^ and his monk powers are teh shiz!
5. Hmm, I'll have to say Chiriko. He's younger than me now, but he's still cute ^^
6. Tamahome and Mitsukake tie down here. I'm not really in favour of Tamahome, partially because he's a miser. And Mituskake . . . well . . . he's nice an all, but he doesn't fit my tastes.

I am greatly disappointed with the ending of Fushigi Yugi.
Miaka pissed me off, with just one dialoge box. She tells Nuriko that she loves Taka, even if he never was Tamahome. She also tells Tamahome (when they all think its the real flesh-and-blood Tamahome) that Taka stuck with her through thick and thin and thats why she needed him. About there I went "...So I read 13 books, where Tamahome protected you, almost died for you countless times, and had to come and resuce you on a daily basis...and your choosing someone who often doubts himself?"
I really stopped liking Miaka >>;
...
If any other Four Gods stories end like this I will go nuts. But, I trust Takiko and Suzuno to be smart.

Hmm...as of now...it's tough to decide if I like Tasuki, Tamahome, or Chichiri more.
Tamahome is a babe. There's no doubt there..his greed has caused me a LOT of laughter.... and he's totally the perfect boyfriend. Someone you dream of...
Tasuki is a babe too though. xD He's sooo funny, and has gotten sexier through the last 4 volumes I have read (though the 'second part' is a lot less....I dunno....good xD than the first 13) and the scene where he tried to rape Miaka actually made me love him a lot more. sweatdrop
Chichiri is just..wonderful. I love how he's pretty much always smiling...even after watching his best friend die....and after blaming himself for his death for so long. sweatdrop

omg, i just saw the extra anime of when miaka is pregnant and it was good...i wish miaka was actually like in it more instead of being unconcious the whole time tho....
