"Don’t mind what Augustine says. It doesn’t mean anything." The Audino interrupted, stifling another yawn and rubbing at his chest, a lazy, semi-disapproving look focused on the Ninetales. The gray fox just huffed, one eye opening and giving an equally lay glare at the other pokemon. "Boy, you’ve got some manners."
"The first words out of your muzzle are how he isn’t shrimpy. You’ve got a lot of nerve talking about ‘manners’." The Audino remarked, shaking his head before focusing on Bastien. He set a paw to his chest, giving a little bit of a bow in the Fennekin’s direction.
"It’s nice to meet you though, kid. I’m Atticus. And that lazy lump is Augustine, but you probably guessed that, huh?" Atticus tilted his head as Bastien looked between the two, still clearly uncertain of what to make of the situation. "So, did Ashe give you a name?"
"Oh… uhm. Yeah… I’m… I’m Bastien." He remarked. Atticus gave a thoughtful frown, rubbing under his chin in thought. "Bastien, huh? Nice name. Good and strong. I like it." The Fennekin stared a moment before nodding a bit. "Ah… thank you…. I think?"

Elizabeth knew that she would need to face the gym in this city, but wondered if Camellia was ready for it yet. She really didn't want to risk having her faint because the gym leader's pokemon were too strong for them. She could use her other pokemon who are a lot stronger instead, but then how is Camellia supposed to get more experience and become stronger too? This made her sigh, thinking of what to do when suddenly a pokemon appeared in front of her and they wanted to do battle. She looked at her pokedex, seeing that it was a Dunsparce and decided to send out Camellia to battle, now the perfect chance to get some experience.

Elizabeth was so happy when she saw that Camellia had beaten that Dunsparce easily. She had Camellia come over, petting her on the head and complimenting her on the good job that she did. It has been so long since she last did an actual pokemon battle, not having done one since she left Johto. That certainly brought back a lot of memories of battles that she has done while she had been in Johto. But this was her first wild pokemon battle in Johto with her new starter pokemon and it went extremely well at least.

The burst of pain woke Lafayette up, eyes snapping open as he gave a little gasp. He groaned and flinched, hand gingerly reaching up and rubbing at his shoulder as he pulled himself up into a sitting position. Dova was right there next to him, head worriedly tilting this way and that as she eyed him. It took the blonde a moment to recognize his surroundings; it was Santalune City and he was sitting out in the middle of one of the roads.
Apparently, sleep had gotten the better of him mid-flight and he’d gone and fallen off in the process. Luckily, it must’ve been close to them landing because while his arm hurt, it wasn’t terrible. "Ugh…," He groaned. With a sigh, he latched onto Dova and used her to pull himself up groggily. Eesh, well. That was a bit dangerous wasn’t it? He shook his head and looked around a moment; well... least they were practically outside the gym.

Lafayette would’ve taken the time to enjoy the museum of art if he had the focus for it. There were pictures and it looked a lot like an art gallery. Some of them looked pretty nice but he just couldn’t focus. Instead, he was just trying to find the gym floor. Somehow he made it there, though he couldn’t tell if there were obstacles or not.
”Well hello! Here for a challenge, I see?” Viola greeted as she finished taking some shots of a few nearby trainers and their pokemon. Lafayette just nodded, eyeing the photographer a moment before reaching for a pokeball. And yet another defeat. Crouching down, Viola made certain to snap the last few seconds of her battle before she straightened up, checking each shot to assure that they were adequate. "Magnifique~" she sang, recalling her Vivillion for a well deserved rest. "You and your Luxray, you both hold within you such a brilliant shine!" Resisting the urge to snap another photo the gym leader strode quickly to Lafayette, handing to him his winnings with a smile. "I'm honored to give you this Bug badge, that and Infestation." From there the young woman gave a wave farewell, waiting just long enough for Lafayette to exit before she turned to heal her pokemon, and develop her newest pictures.

Another day, another badge. With a weary smile this time, Lafayette took the badge from Viola. There was that 'great battle even though you pretty much used pokemon more powerful than my own' spirit! With that done, he tucked the badge away and started out the building, pausing a moment to look around. Could he keep this up for much longer? He wasn't sure. Actually, he was rather surprised not to find Juliean immediately greeting him. Usually when his communicator went off, that meant the man wasn't far behind. But there was no sign of him and hadn't been for a little while.
Huh. How strange.
With another yawn, he unleashed Dova and hauled himself up. This time, he'd make sure to stay awake; his shoulder was still hurting from that earlier fall (it was probably going to bruise at this point), and served as a reminder of the dangers of sleeping in the air. Once he was certain he was hitched in tight though he gave the Noivern a gentle kick to get her moving and soon they were off to what he assumed would be their next destination and the next gym.

"No worries, kid," the Audino remarked, stifling yet another yawn before fluffing the fluff at his chest. He seemed to be considering what else to discuss as his gaze lazy shifted around, though before he could open his mouth to speak again, Ashley was moving over to them.
"Venez ici." He commanded at the Audino, TM device already in hand as he snapped the discs into the device. He seemed focus on the task, first ushering Atticus over to him. The Audino gave him a bit of a lazily curious look before moving his way over to stand in front of his trainer. Bastien watched with interest while Augustine remained with his head resting on top of the bench. It wasn’t long before the whirling of sounds and a ‘zip’ noise. Atticus gave an agitated flinch, stepping back and rubbing at his ears as Ashley pulled away.
"There." The French man remarked, fetching another disc and snapping them into the device before tapping Augustine the side of the bench to attract Augustine’s attention. “You are next, Augustine. Come here.” The Ninetales gave an exasperated huff, shuffling and scooting his way over. Ashley quirked an eyebrow, the slightest of frowns crossing his face at the fox pokemon’s antics. Bastien even watched with a bit of confusion. Either way though, Ashley repeated the previous actions, the device snapping and whizzing to life. Soon the TMs where used up, Ashley nodding and discarding the used up discs in a nearby trash bin. Well now that was done…

With those TMs distributed, Ashley took a moment to browse the rest. There were two here that would be good for Odilon actually, which reminded him that he needed to summon for the Swanna at some point. He quirked an eyebrow as he noted as the screen of his X-transceiver lighting up. For a moment he thought it was Octave but a quick look revealed that it was simply a text message from his sister.
”I forgot to mention it at our meeting, but I thought it would be good if you took Theodor with you. You can pick him up from the daycare! Enjoy~” Ashley frowned. Theodor? The runty Eevee his sister had managed to stumble across during one of their walks? She thought it would be a good idea for him to bring him along? That was… laughable. Except it wasn’t.
With a terse look he rolled his eyes and tapped back a message to confirm that he’d received her note before returning his goods to his bag. Slinging everything over one shoulder and retrieving his case with the other, he took a moment to consider his next course of action. He could take on the gym most likely… give it a shot to see if there was truly anything to this supposed ‘pokemon trainer’ enthusiasm that seemed to be buzzing about. He still didn’t find the idea thrilling to be honest but maybe it took actually experiencing it to really feel it.

It took a bit of thought but Ashley decided that he’d give the gym a go. But first, he’d swing by the pokemon center and retrieve Theodor before he forgot about the Eevee. He would’ve preferred to simply leave the runt in the day care; he didn’t have much use for a type like that on his team… maybe he could find a means to evolve him and make him more useful. That was worth looking into.
Soon he was walking through the sliding doors of the pokemon center, giving the Nurse Joy a little nod of his head in greeting before immediately making his way over to the PC in the corner. He didn’t trust these computers; they were too insecure despite the important role they played in the lives of up and coming pokemon trainers. And of course, with the greedy laziness of some, that made these systems primary targets for intrusions and hacking and if the reports were anything, it happened far more frequently than expected. It wasn’t surprising though… what better way to quickly acquire interesting and rare pokemon than to simply steal them? The teams had one thing right. Sort of.
Still, he needed to use it temporarily. He didn’t have access to day care services through his own devices –it wasn’t exactly something he intended to make use of if ever- and soon he was quickly logging in to the system. It wasn’t much longer until the transfer system was whirling to life and a pokeball appeared in a flash of light in the transfer tube. The lid raised up and Ashley retrieved it from the cushion, rolling it about in his hand in consideration. Well that was simple enough; with a few extra strokes he logged off and did a few other things to assure his information was completely wiped from the system before glancing to his team still lingering behind him.

Ashley stepped outside the pokemon center once more, adjusting his things as he took a moment to observe his surroundings. Atticus trailed right beside him, his own gaze seeming to observe as his trainer did though with a half-hearted interest. The French man had returned Augustine before they continued; the Ninetales seemed to focus on loafing about to actually keep up and Ashley had the time to entertain the lazy fox. He was used to it to be honest, in fact he expected nothing less, but for the time being he was interested in moving and not entertaining the Ninetales loafing ways.
Atticus though, could keep up as could Bastien. He left the pair out to follow; the Fennekin needed some more worldly experience after which he wouldn’t obtain being trapped in a pokeball all day, and Atticus –even if he didn’t seem it- had a watchful eye and could keep track of the new pokemon which allowed Ashley to focus on more important things.
If he had any to focus on. Beginning in the direction of the gym’s location, he took a moment to look it up. Viola, a bug-type user. The information caused the hairs on the back of his neck to rise. Bugs. He did not like bugs. Or more specifically, bugs sometimes meant spider-looking bugs. He did not like those types in particular. He could certainly keep his composure in their presence but… well…
It wasn’t a good idea to just randomly shoot someone’s pokemon.

It didn’t take him long to dig up the information he wanted concerning Miss Viola’s team and Ashley found himself more or less satisfied with the results. Kind of. She was known to use a Surskit and a Vivillion; the Vivillion wasn’t a problem though the Surskit… that was a little bit into dangerous territory. It took a bit of mental convincing to remind himself that it wasn’t a spider (it didn’t have quite enough legs) but rather just some bulb on twigs. Right, perfect logic. Flawless even.
With a curt nod he tucked his device away and focused, finding his way to the gym doors. It didn’t take long to find the right building, though he did quirk an eyebrow at the sight of the building. It looked more like an art gallery than a gym, though the insignia on the outside told him otherwise. He stepped inside, eyebrow quirking even further. Huh… how interesting.

It was in fact more so an art gallery –at least in the very beginning- and Ashley took his time perusing the photography that peppered the walls. Some of them were actually quite interesting; the angles were good, the focuses, and the subject of the pieces. It was all rather impressive to some degree and he found himself able to appreciate the art for what it was.
Soon though he shifted his attention to other matters, like finding out exactly where gym battles took place. It was all well and good to distract trainers with the art exhibits but he had better things to do and already had other plans for his time. Soon though he found his way to the back area where the battle platforms were located. A young blonde woman took notice of him as he paused at the outer lines of the gym, a smile crossing her face as she approached.
”Bonjour! I am Viola, are looking for a gym battle~?” The woman inquired, camera lowering as she addressed him. Ashley quirked an eyebrow, placing a hand to his chest and giving a semi-bow. "Bonjour madam Viola. Oui, I am indeed looking for a gym battle. Would you be so kind?" Viola seemed to return the pleasantry with a little curtsy of her own. ”Of course! I would be happy too. Don’t take my bugs lightly though!” Ashley just suppressed an annoyed smile in response. Right.

Elizabeth was still happy about how well Camellia had done in that battle against the wild pokemon. So she started heading towards the pokemon center, needing to figure out which pokemon she should take with her before going to challenge the gym leader in this city. But as she was walking, she had noticed a boy dressed in red with red hair looking around the area before suddenly meeting her eyes. Once he did, he came running over to her and quickly challenged her to a battle since their eyes had met. Elizabeth was very surprised by that, but knew that she would have to battle other trainers along with the gym leaders. So she accepted the battle, sending out Camellia so that she can get some more experience before they go face the gym.

Elizabeth was really happy that she had won the battle, but was upset that Camellia had been poisoned and knew that she needed to be healed immediately. So after saying goodbye to the boy, she quickly ran into the Pokemon Center, telling the Nurse Joy there to heal up all of her pokemon. She waited for a while before the other had come back with all of the pokemon, along with a box. Elizabeth heard as the nurse told her that they were all healed up and that she had a package for her. She was confused, wondering who sent the package as she opened it up, finding some berries and a couple of strange items along with a note before reading it. Elizabeth was smiling, realizing that one of her friends from Johto had sent this to her, so happy that they cared about her. Now it was only making her miss being in Johto more, but knew that she can't go back there. She placed the items in her bag, glad that all of her pokemon are healed and Camellia is no longer poisoned at least.

As she was thinking, she happened to look out a window and saw a pokemon outside it, looking directly at her. Why are they looking at her? So Elizabeth decided to go outside and around to where she saw them at, surprised to find a Lilligant. They are so cute! "Hello there. Were you watching me from here?" she asked the pokemon as they had nodded back to her. "Did you want to come with me?" she asked them again before the pokemon nodded back happily. "Alright then, and I know the perfect name for you, Lilly since you're a Lilligant." Elizabeth had said back to the Lilligant who was smiling at the name. Then she threw a pokeball at the pokemon, watching it move and light up three times before clicking, having caught it and gone to the PC. Yes, she has caught another pokemon here in Kalos, feeling so lucky right now.
