Seeing that the twins weren't helping, Sasha tried to get them to let go of Leo's arm, but to no avail. Even Samuel couldn't pry them away. They seemed really serious about whatever they were doing. "Let us do our work!" Cherry had shouted at them, only for Sasha to sign into her face that said 'work' was hurting Leo. "I'm telling you, let us work! We'll explain everything later!"

"You're hurting him! Let go of his arm, already!" Samuel yelled back, finally managing to get Chase and Cherry away. "What's wrong with you two? You've been acting strange since yesterday!"

"Dammit, Sam! More of those things are going to appear if you don't let us finish! Now let us finish our work!" Chase shouted. "And no questions! If we start explaining, it'll be too late!"

The arguing and struggling stopped. Samuel looked at the twins, and then at Leo, and then back at the twins, before reluctantly letting them go. Straightening out, Cherry and Chase went back to holding onto Leo's arm and examining it. Asher held onto his brother and prepared to comfort him if he felt pain, as it was probably the only thing he could really do right now.

"Okay, we're going to switch places," Cherry instructed her brother, handing him the pen. "We'll see if it works that time." The two of them took deep breaths and started over, with Chase tracing over each symbol that his sister drew and Cherry chanting each time he finished one. There were no interruptions, their minds were very focused, and they began to poke at the scars once they finished. "Do they still hurt?"

"It was supposed to stop hurting, moron. That's how we would know if the spell is working. Something must be interfering with our work," Chase concluded, looking nervously at his sister. "What should we do? This guy is really determined!"

"Try a stronger one. If that doesn't work, then we'll just have to jump and work on prevention," Cherry answered, prompting her brother to write new symbols. The old ones disappeared as if evaporating, making some hissing sound but not leaving any marks on Leo's skin. Once again, Cherry chanted and poked at the scars. They were starting to sizzle now. "Good, good. This one is having some sort of effect."

"They're gone!" Asher was the first to comment, and then the symbols started to sink into Leo's skin. This was starting to get weirder and weirder. He had thought Leo's visions had been bad enough, but now it seems that two of their neighbors practiced witchcraft or something. If this was all a dream, he was wondering why he wasn't waking up from any of it.

The twins, meanwhile, smiled and started working on a prevention spell, though they poked the area where the scars were for good measure. They wanted to be sure the spell removed all traces of harm. The twins intertwined fingers and Cherry put a hand on the once-scarred area while Chase put a hand over Leo's heart. After making sure the heart was beating at a normal rate, the twins muttered and abruptly returned their hands to their sides. "Done!"

"We're regular people, for the most part," Chase said, faking an annoyed tone. "What we just did are healing and prevention. Those are our specialties!" He suddenly felt dizzy and quickly sat down. "Anyway, do keep it a secret. We don't want to be hunted down as witches. Well, we're past that century and all, but we'd still like to keep it a secret." He laughed a little, rather nervous after he and Cherry had just performed a rather freaky spell in front of ordinary people.

Cherry and Chase looked at each other, and then back at Leo. "We're not sure. We've never met anyone else who practiced this kind of stuff," Cherry replied. "Looks like voodoo activity, Or some kind of dark arts that you would see in the Harry Potter books or something along those lines." She scratched her head, bashfully, as she was embarrassed at not being able to answer Leo's question. "Did you have any enemies, perhaps?"

Asher could only think of the possible suspect being their parents' murderer, but he wasn't sure if he practiced any such dark arts. However, who else besides the kidnapper and his family would have a grudge against the brothers? The words on Leo's arm also made more sense if the murderer had been the culprit. Leo and Asher did escape the house fire...

Cherry frowned and furrowed her eyebrows, but that only lasted a few moments. "Well, in any case, your life might be on the line. I have a feeling you know something that we don't, but we can't really ask you to tell us, can we?" she said, crossing her arms. "I suppose we'll be explaining a ton of stuff at the apartments, huh?"
