Jumping into action, she pulled and reeled in the line, fighting to keep it on the hook.

The sound of defeat hung in the air, leaving her with a limp line, exhausted and broken hearted.

GAME 2
The witch climbed up onto the ice, undaunted by the possibility of falling. She could just make out the shapes of the Poms swimming beneath her feet, their bioluminescent lights dancing around each other. She took a few steps closer... and closer... when the ice began to crack. Seeing the fragile surface of the pond, she turned back.

GAME 2
Ri moved back carefully, taking small steps so that her boots don't crack the ground even more.
"Please don't break... Please don't break..." She begged the ice, though it wasn't the ice she should've been afraid of. Suddenly, the trickster Spooky Pom leapt up out of a hole in the ice and knocked her sideways in a blur of orange and black, making her fall out of the pond. It seemed to be laughing, grinning from ear to ear and making a sound that was something like a purr. It slid back into the water to join its friends, creating small bubbles on the water's surface.
She got up slowly, her bruises and sore body from the pit fall yesterday protesting their new neighbors, before giving up and walking away.

She thought that perhaps she could catch one of the other special poms again. But luck wasn't with her and nor was the sturdiness of the ice which was proven to be non-existent as the ice cracked beneath her feet. She retreated and looked for a different section of ice to walk on.

Stepping out onto the ice with steady feet, Sophie managed to walk to the middle of the pond. She saw a pom within her reach and just as she stepped forward to catch it, the ice crumpled beneath her feet and sent her into the water. Wading out, she crawled out of the pond and glared back at it.
