Aria took the crystal, staring at it for a moment before digging out her gem to stare at that as well. The thick cracks were still oozing a black mist and was unpleasant to say the least. She couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt as she held the two objects closer together. There were probably those that needed this more than she did, but for whatever reason she felt that falling here would be the worst thing she could do. If the images that had appeared in her head were in any way related to her wish, she had to survive long enough to find out. Someone... needed her, that was the impression she got from the images. She let out a sigh as the cracks receded, the mist and pain with it.
"Thanks", she replied grudgingly to Zelda, hating to have asked for help from someone else. As the crystal shattered, she decided that she should repay the deed with information rather than stay indebted. "I don't know if it's proper compensation or if it was true, but...", she paused to try to gather her thoughts before continuing, "I might have seen something, maybe memories. There was a girl, some blood, something about a promise... and that creature."
Aria felt a new surge of anger towards the small cat-like beast as the image seemed to float back into her mind. "I have a feeling that thing has more connection to us than we think. I don't know about you all, but if that little punk shows up again, there will be answers.", she declared to the rest of the girls that were still within earshot, punching her left fist into her right palm.

After her attacks, Bonnie had pulled back to observe. Girl after girl set themselves against the unknown monster. Some were tossed aside like garbage. Some managed to cause what looked like real damage, and some were pathetic. But most of all, Bonnie realized that none of it was really doing any good. She wondered exactly what the point was - it all looked like a show for someone off screen, to her.
This was the second time she found herself collapsed on the floor in pain and she was starting to wonder if this was going to be a regular occurrence. As she climbed back to her feet her hand brushed a small crystal that had fallen near her. Before she could even look at it that creature reappeared, telling her all about what it did and then disappearing again. It was like some sort of really annoying AI or...or...the image of an animated paperclip popped up in her mind, along with an insane amount of irritation and rage directed toward it. Yeah, like whatever that is. Tucking the crystal into her blouse she took a moment to view the other girls around, trying to see if anyone was injured. Her own blue crystal was cracked, with little wisps of smoke escaping from it, but for some reason that concerned her less than the status of the other girls. It would take her a few minutes to assess the girls, but that would also let her listen to what the girls were saying to each other. So far that seemed much more informative than that little...creature...thing.

"I-I-I wouldn't cry!!" She looked absolutely appalled at Zelda's words, though if she were being honest with herself....she probably would.
Macy gave a small nod in response, coupled with the words, "D--do-don't worry a-about it." towards Jamie with a nonchalant shrug, before eagerly handing over the crystal, practically pushing it straight into Jamie's hands. She watched with rapt attention as the other frilly dressed girl held the crystal next to her gem, eyes widening as the cracks and fissures began to vanish, and as the horrible black mist that had been leaking out came to a stop.
"C-c-cool!" She exclaimed, her face splitting into a very wide smile, revealing for the first time the small gap between her two front teeth. "B-but..." She glanced towards Aria now, concerned. "W-will i-it..does it w-work more then once?"
The hand on her shoulder was met with a startled glance upwards towards Zelda, her smile fading away in her initial confusion. Was...did the other girl actually care about her well being? It hadn't seemed likely, earlier, that Zelda would be likely to have a soft spot for anyone, acting as hard as the steel chains she wielded. How quickly a battle fought side by side with what was once strangers seemed to change things....
Oh well, that was not something Macy was likely to dwell on. She was feeling to warm and slightly giddy inside from what she assumed was a form of acceptance from the older girl. It brought with it a sense of happiness, despite their current situation, and the battle at hand. It brought with it something almost familiar....
"I--I---I j-just w--wa--want t-to be me...I j-just want t-to b-be..."
The voice she heard in her head was just like her own, only sad, sniffling, an aching tone that made her think that she had been crying when the words had been said.
She was brought out what seemed to be a very strange type of memory by one of the girls she had met asking if they were all okay, and she jumped slightly, moving out from under Zelda's hand to turn towards Narcissa. "F-fine. You?" She asked, trying to keep her sentences short and to the point where she could manage. Another girl, Tara, approached, and complimented her on how she had fought.
"Y-y-you think so?" She asked, her face lighting up again, though the smile she offered was small and shy. "I-I'm o-okay but..I g-gave my crystal t-to Jamie."
"W-working on it!" She directed this to Melony with a small frown, though it seemed that Zelda had her own words to give to Melony for her more then obvious statement.
When Vatatchi spoke up next, Macy turned towards her, and offered her a smile as well, glad that the other girl was making more of an effort to control her language, and her tone of voice. Let's face it, she could have just told Macy where to go and how to get there, however uncomfortably, but instead she had actually listened!
"A-a p-pirate?" She cocked her head to the side in thought, "Th--that'd b-be a pr-pretty neat w-wish." As for her own? She didn't really have any clues, though she found the more camaraderie she had with the older girls around her, the more she was enjoying herself.
For a time she just listened as the others spoke, but it was hard when there was so much still going on, though there still seemed to be plenty of girls who were attacking the large shadowy thing.
And then when there was a lull, she spoke again "M-maybe I-I w-was lonely. May--maybe...hrmmm.."She stopped to pause in thought, because something about how she was going to finish that sentence didn't quite seem right. Had she wanted friends? A sister perhaps? A family? It all seemed wrong, somehow...
"I--I'm just n-not sure..." She admitted with another small shrug. "I--I d-don't think I..I wanted t-to change an-anything about my-myself at least."
Maybe she would remember more later....

Jamie looked at her now healed lantern thingy, then at the others as she pocketed it. "I wished for a family," she said quietly. "If we're doing the whole show and tell thing. I was... I don't know, I can't remember, really. All I remember was that I really... really wanted a family."
She guessed that meant she didn't have one.

The younger girl's smile and pleasant disposition were slightly comforting, and instead of trying to get the hell away, Nila seemed contented enough to stay in her presence for now. As she listened she lifted a hand tapping a finger against her jawline. It was unfortunate that Istas didn't know more.. but it was hard to begrudge her when Nila didn't know much of anything either.
It seemed like, as usual, that some animal had a better clue of what was going on. Some strange strange animal.
"Is there anything you feel like you want?" Maybe that'd give some clue to what they could have wished for.
"The only wish I can think of right now is a wish to go home." Clearly Nila didn't realize that a wish now didn't equal a wish in the past. But heck, at least she was talking. "But we see how well that is working"

When the crystal touched her Fear Core, there was a little clink; then, just like that, the pain was gone. The crystal seemed to draw all of that pain and dark essence inside of itself, leaving her Fear Core clean and untarnished. Bright red glimmered up at her. Tanith looked down at her hands, then examined the rest of her body -- just like her Core, it appeared to be completely unscathed. Almost as if the attack never happened...
But it did, and Tanith refused to forget it. It was one of the very few memories she had to hold on to, and it would continue to serve as a reminder of the battles she'd continue to face. She wouldn't let herself get caught off guard like this, not again.
Whatever resentment Tanith had for Alice's success faded when she looked up at the girl. Her face was open and earnest. She had helped her out of the kindness of her heart, and despite Tanith's earlier mental urging, she found it hard to hold anything against her after that.
"Yeah... it wasn't so bad at all." Tanith said, taking her hand and using it to pull herself up to her feet. Alice's compliments made her grin, and she puffed out her chest, dangling the bag in front of her importantly. As importantly as she could make it look, anyway. "It is pretty awesome, huh? Just when I was thinking it couldn't do a thing, I pull out something like that! I dunno what else it can do..." She opened it up and wasn't especially surprised to see nothing inside. "Maybe it only works when I'm in trouble or something. It's like my guardian bag."
Suddenly, she brightened, bouncing as she whirled to face Alice again. "Hey! Speaking of... Guardians! I was thinking... That's what we are! Guardians of Halloween! We should all team up together! You can be my sidekick!"

Willow stood and watched, keeping a mental note of who had been healed and who had what kind of injuries. She kept her own crystal separate from her fear core.. Though she jumped in surprise when Taika came running over and hugged her. "I'm fine. Yourself? Are you alright?"
Istas thought about the question Nila had asked her, it was hard to think about what you wanted when you didn't know where this path was leading. "Something to drink maybe?"
There was a pause and chuckle, "I doubt that'd be real wish though. Who would wish for something to drink?"
There was a small shift in her footing, going home? "Hm... maybe home isn't the answer either? If we agreed to fight.... why would we wish to go home?"
Anua gave a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of her head, "I tripped." She smiled, then, cautiously pulled herself to her feet. Maroon eyes stared down the sabertooth tiger skeleton, wondering how it managed to vibrate enough to.. well, purr. That little tug and urge to say "awww" led Anua to believe that she might very well have a soft spot for felines.
"I can't imagine what reason we might have had to volunteer to such battles." Anua groaned, pulling her Fear Core into the palm of her hand. It's drastically altered appearance alarmed her, with cracks and a certain lack of luminescence that it had previous held. She quickly stuffed it back into the ruined folds of her skirts, peeking back at Bea.
"Perhaps we can see who else needs a bit of help?" Her voice sounded weary still, but she was beginning to feel a little chipper. Surviving near death experiences did tend to make one try to appreciate the present a bit more.
Anua peered about, looking towards the closest ones to them. She couldn't help but hear the word wish, and she tugged on Bea's sleeve and scooted a bit closer to the ones named Nila and Istas, having caught only a portion of their conversation. "You wished for a drink?"
"I... wasn't bothering you..? That's a relief. I'm Yara." She said with a relieved smile. "I wish that kitty would stop speaking in riddles and get to the point already. I'm so confused by all... this." She waved a free hand at everyone and everything around them. Yara really wasn't one for riddles. Plain and simple, that's how she liked it. All this thinking was making her head hurt.
"I am here to claim what is rightfully ours, nothing more, nothing less."
< If you do this you will collapse the balance between Humans and Halloween! You cannot possibly think that- >
"What I think is none of your concern, you or your kind, who do not understand our purpose, our goal."
"Children. Yes you, all of you. You are being deceived by one who's intentions are impure. They were the one who concealed your memories and took what is rightfully yours away from you. Do not forget what you truly are. Come with me, and I will make sure you find true peace."
< ...! >
"There is still so much to do in this world, and look at you, look at your fabricated, fake bodies this false god has given to you. They are breaking apart already, because underneath lie your true selves, and with them the true memories. You are only in pain because you have been given a purpose that is not yours. Remember who you really are and you will have to fight no longer."
< You cannot do that, - ! They made a promise to me as well! >
"And, pray tell, what was this promise. Do you remember, false creations, what this promise was?"

< Please hurry! There is little time left, you have to remember your wish and fight on! >
"There is always a choice for those who seek alternate paths. Come children, I promise you you will not have to fight any more."
OOC
DIVERGENCE:
- AT this point your character can make one of two choices. Stay and fight or leave!
gaia_crown [ Step 1: ] The opponent is much stronger this time! Instead of rolling 3 separate 10-sided dice, simply post one post with 3d10. RP out how much damage you do according to your dice roll, where 1 - ineffective, and 30 = highest damage possible. This is an rp event so just rp it out!
- However as you deliver your blows, they resonate. Each blow, as you hit the enemy, echoes a strange memory. A fragmented memory. You can't even remember who they were, or their faces. But they seem familiar.
The first blow you hit is a cherished memory. Everyone's faces are blacked out, you can't even see the location, but you feel it. A spark of it, something someone said to you that created a moment of warmth.
The second blow you hit is a sad memory. You feel the anguish in your core even now, the words that were delivered to you.
The third blow you hit is the memory of the promise. You said something to the ???. What was it? Bits and pieces escape. You promised to fight against.... for.... to protect.... because you.... but you don't remember much past that. It leaves a strange feeling, one of bittersweet sadness and agitation. You feel incomplete without the full memory of the promise.
gaia_crown [ Step 2: ] The memories make you weaker to attack as well. You are not nearly as graceful as you were. You feel it, a dull pain, and then a lingering sadness. Roll 1d100 to calculate damage, and see what prompt you take:
1 - 30:
You feel tired and nearly collapse as you are hit by a swipe of the creature's oddly contorted claws. For a second you see something else, a very unusual feeling, you don't fully understand it. Thick black cracks have begun forming from the bottom of your feet upwards. You feel cold, and yet you still survive.
31 - 60:
You feel tired and nearly collapse as you are hit by a swipe of the creature's oddly contorted claws. For a second you see something else, a very unusual feeling, you don't fully understand it.Thick black cracks have formed from your feet, hands, all the way across your entire body, spreading like a strange plague. Any sense of normalcy of what you once were is completely stained by a wreck of your former self, like looking into a broken mirror reflection of you. It feels like your physical appearance will break any second, and yet you still survive.
61 - 100:
You feel tired and nearly collapse as you are hit by a swipe of the creature's oddly contorted claws. For a second you see something else, a very unusual feeling, you don't fully understand it. Oh right, that's right, the promise.
Thick black cracks form too fast across your entire body. You are petrified. For a second, you look at everyone, in shock, in pain perhaps, confused- before you shatter entirely, collapsing to nothingness.
"I'm pretty sure a drink is something we can grant ourselves"
"But then home might be the same...." They weren't really getting much of anywhere. But then how were they supposed to get anywhere when it seemed like someone had come and scooped their brains out? Even thinking of home was a little hard to remember any concrete details.
Being approached by someone else, Nila bristled for a moment, watching the two cautiously. Once again the intention didn't seem ill, and while Nila wasn't keen on ending up blocked in, she seemed willing to make the exception in hopes of finding someone that knew anything.
"I think she was joking."
"Have you seen that animal? The cat.. rabbit thing? It's the only thing that seems to have a clue about anything. If we can find or catch it.." She trailed off, not really certain how to finish. Basically that was her only idea. Find the creature that seemed to know so much about them.

"Awww... are you goin to be ok?" she asked, tipping her head, not really sure what to do. She had gotten hurt too, but that crystal thingy had helped her a great deal! However.. when she saw how cracked up the energy ball Anua had was, she gasped, and quickly scurried over to get a better look, "Oh my gosh! Anua! It looks like it's going to shatter into itty bitty pieces!" she squeaked in distress, "We... we need some glue, or something!" but.. .after a small look around, she realized that something like that was probably not around...
But seeing that it was being stashed away gave some comfort. "just be careful with it until we can fix it up, ok?" she worriedly advised. By now, a few of the skeleton cats were returning into the ground, or into thin air, but Bea didn't give them much notice now. This chick didn't look so good! striding up beside Anua, Bea pressed herself against her side, and wrapped her arm around her to help support the injured girl stay upright, "Others who need help?"
and with that tugging, she looked to those other girls in question, blinking blankly at them. So what was their deal?
oh gosh... but suddenly, that fox bunny thing was back again!! and something else..? staring at the two strange figures, Bea blinked with more confusion, brows knitting, looking back and for between the two as they bickered like parents. Finally looking at Anua, she squeezed to her a bit tighter, voice a little shrill now, "A-Anua what do we do?! I don't understand whats going on!" again... her eyes shimmered some more... that uncertainty taking over and panic settling comfortably a second time.
