The next series of events took place in slow motion; Akeru falling backwards, the succession of items hitting the floor, the bucket just barely missing the young man, the water hitting the Uchiha perfectly. What in the world just happened?! An even better question, what just caused this?! On the other hand, all of that really didn’t matter at this point in time. Placing her bucket down where she was standing, Amaya ran the few steps over to the wounded man, kneeling beside him. ”Akeru-san,” There was a bit of worry in the child’s voice because of the Akeru’s head hitting the hard Academy floors had resounded quite nicely. The two things that were comforting at this point was the lack of pooling blood beneath him and the fact that she hadn’t heard any cracking. Then again, that didn’t account for any bleeding internally that might have occurred with such a fall. ”Are you alright?” In all actuality, only a few seconds had passed during this series of unfortunate events, but it had seemed like an eternity was passing for some reason or another. What was she supposed to do in a situation like this? At the very least, Akeru was testing her well.

Maybe she should offer him the rag that was resting on her shoulder; the same one that she was going to use to clean up the blood on the floor. Its intended use was no matter to the small girl, there were more in the closet and the male Uchiha could use it to dry off his face at the very least. However, if he was actually hurt then a bit of sudsy water was going to be the least of his concern. There were a few things that he could have injured upon landing. The nodachi had pressed into his back ruthlessly on impact, and then there was the unmistakable sound as the back of Akeru’s head crashed onto the floor. It had looked painful, so Amaya couldn’t image how uncomfortable it truly was. Maybe she should just go get the med kit now and assume that he got hurt. No, that would probably upset him and that was the last thing the little Keiji wanted.

With that little twinge of concern, Amaya placed her hand on Akeru’s shoulder as if she was saying that she would take care of anything he needed; which was true. Worst case scenario, the child would point out that what water hadn’t gotten on him had gone to work soaking some of the blood on the floor. Perhaps a positive spin would be helpful. No matter, the child was going to let Akeru tell her what was needed before she tried to do anything on her own. She still was getting to know the Uchiha and she still wasn’t sure how he would react to what. To top it off, Akeru wasn’t the stereotypical Uchiha, so she couldn’t use the patterns that she had observed in others of the clan to guess what he would do and how he would react.

Slowly he pressed his chakra into the cloak, watching as it changed to match the background. He paid special attention to the area around Chisana, which was slightly distorted by her form. Luckily it wasn't too bad and soon to cloak was nearly flush with the wall. Up close one could determine it was there, but it'd be much ore difficult at a distance.

No, he was not alright.

This was forgivable, or, at least, he convinced himself it was. This was perfect acceptable, and logical to do. Tearing up, that was. Two years wasn't that long ago, and a part of him still stubbornly wanted to remain a child. Granted, if Shikamori-jii-chan saw him tearing up right now, the Nara would certainly scold him. If his clan saw him... He wasn't sure he wanted to know what they'll do. But Shika-jii-chan's opinion would matter secondary now - the clan, even less - because by this point Akeru had decided the Academy really upsets him and he wanted to finish this task and get out. He never had such troubles back in the Otogakure Academy. This was entirely unfair, and it must have something to do with the building being built by Senjus. He knew he should've thought about it more carefully before deciding to come over here.

...

Ok, fine. That was maybe going a little too far and he was going into theatrics. Admittedly, there was some small measure of comfort in the thought that precisely because this building was constructed by the Senju, his head hurts much less than it would've been hurting had the floor been marble and not wood. It didn't change the fact that there was a lump right now on the back of his head though, which he was delicately rubbing at with his good hand (once he had gotten over the initially crippling pain of a nodachi hilt to his spinal cord). But he does acknowledge that could've went a whole lot worse.

But throwing optimistic thoughts aside, he chose to get depressed, and once again was in his little-corner-in-the-world and clearly sulking, wasting time.

Amaya smiled gently when she saw the glistening tears in the golden eyes of the man before her. Today just wasn’t his day. However, no matter what day it was this caused the young Keiji to go into big sister mode. She scooted on her knees so that she was closer and Amaya used the dry rag to help clean the water off the Uchiha’s face and neck, softly placing a hand on his cheek to keep him steady while she did so. It was a tender touch and there was a loving attentiveness in the young child’s eyes as she worked. Then, setting the rag on her knee, Amaya used her fingertips to drag the saturated hair from in front of the man’s eyes. She had to remember that, even though he was a jounin, Akeru was still young and, therefore, entitled to his emotions. They were fairly minor anyways. It wasn’t like he was wailing and screaming in the midst of the Academy, that wouldn’t have gone over so well. Amaya’s smile stayed in place, this was still a boy learning to be a man, so it was alright for him to be upset.

The small Keiji tucked the rag into the Uchiha’s hand, giving it a gentle squeeze as she did. At that, the child stood from the puddle that soaked the knees down the entire length of her shins and lifted the large metal bucket from its resting place on the floor behind Akeru. Amaya left the man to clean himself up as he pleased while she entered the women’s lavatory to refill the bucket with soap and warm water. At least that was a bit of a positive; it was less irritating to get drenched in warm water than it was cold water. Once the bucket was full, well not completely full, the child used both hands to awkwardly carry the bucket back out to the hall.

As gently as she could, Amaya placed the newly filled bucket next to Akeru before retrieving the mop and resting it against the metal bucket. Then, the child stepped over the man’s foot to stand in front of him. Well, since he was still sitting Amaya decided to squat down so that she could get low enough to see his eyes, her hands pressing her knees together out of some weirdly formed habit. ”Come now, Akeru-san,” Her voice was kind and gentle as she gripped one of his hands with both of hers. ”Sitting in a puddle on the floor will do you no good. How about we clean this up together and then you can rest for the remainder of the day?” Sure, maybe the man didn’t want to rest, but it was probably best for him to. After all, not only did he have a fresh wound on his arm, but he now had a sizable bump on the back of his head. Still smiling, Amaya leaned back, pulling on the young man’s hand and trying to convince him to stand with her so that they could work on this little project as a team. If he didn’t, then she would just clean it up on her own.

Just because water conforms does not mean it is any lesser an element.

His thoughts were only briefly alleviated from his pain when beads of water trailed to the corners of his lips. He made a face, tasting acrid soap, but made no move to wipe the liquid away yet. When he was smaller, his mind overdramatized the dangers of chemicals... However, by now while he knew chemicals were to be respected, tasting a tiny trace of soap wouldn't be enough to severely harm a grown human body. But, he really should continue to tend to the bump at the very least: if he allowed the blood flow to continue and not to clot the injured spot too quickly, he can at least reduce the size of the lump.

Lifting up his good hand almost unwillingly, he resumed the diligent rubbing. As Amaya wiped away the most troubling of the soapy water from his face, he let her, increasing the furious pressure and pace upon the bump to the back of his head. Thankfully, the water hadn't begun irritating his eyes yet, even though minuscule droplets clung dangerously to the edges of dark long lashes. It was a good thing she soothed his initial upset almost as quickly as it had come, and slowly, the barely swelling tantrum deflated. When she passed the rag to him, he carefully trailed it at the edges of his lashes, letting it soak up the liquid, but safely holding a fair distance away so he does not accidentally end up irritating his eyes with what soap the rag had already taken up.

As he worked, he didn't notice her leave with his fallen bucket, not until she returned, this time with it full. He looked at her questioningly. His facial expression changed to one of surprise, and then slowly shifted to an indignant one, when she suggested for him to take a break.

"I can help." He sulked.

To prove his point he rolled the rag tightly towards the center of his palm, holding it in place with his thumb acting like a paperclip, before with the rest of his fingers with his good hand, fished stubbornly for the mop that Amaya replaced next to the newly filled bucket. He got up, making another unhappy face as he felt the dribble of more water to the back of his Jounin uniform, but ignoring his discomfort, settled himself to cleaning the soapy mess he had made on the ground first. He adjusted his hold on the mop, before angling it well, the mop trailed a clean line and divided the puddle of liquid in two.

The child couldn’t help but smile slyly as the man rose and started helping clean the floor. She had used the same tactic on Akeru as she would on her brothers when they started pouting. It worked every time. Content that the man was finally coming back, though he was being a bit fussy about helping, Amaya walked back to the janitor’s closet and retrieved another rag so that she could assist in the cleaning that she had actually made more difficult that it originally was. The child was fairly certain that she had somehow startled the Uchiha when he saw her with the rag and bucket, causing him to trip. Oh well, it had happened and it was done, so it was time to clean up everything.

Amaya quietly walked back over to the lavatory door to reclaim her bucket before working her way to the corner where Akeru had tried to hide. Gently dropping to her knees, still wet from kneeling in the puddle only a few moments earlier, the girl soaked the rag in the warm, soapy liquid that she had brought over in the plastic bucket. After wringing out the excess, the girl began to scrub the floor with both hands. Her eyes traced along the floor, making sure that she was going to get all of the blood in her immediate radius.

Periodically, the girl would rinse the rag in the bucket of water and return to the task at hand after wringing it out again. She was accustomed to washing the floors since that was one of the few jobs that were exclusively hers back home. Amaya was small enough to reach all the nooks and crannies and old enough not to try and chew on the rag or drink the water like her brothers might. She didn’t mind the work. The bubbling soap was always amusing to play in and it wasn’t like these sorts of tasks took too terribly long. As a matter of fact, it was actually going quite quickly. It would probably go even faster once Akeru stopped his pouting, but Amaya knew that guys needed a little bit of time to get over a mistake. It was a pride thing; it was evident even in her very young brothers.

Finally, the small Keiji had cleaned up her radius, rinsing out the rag again before moving on to the next spot. ”Akeru-san,” Amaya was trying to ask how his arm was doing without upsetting him further. There had to be a way to ask without him getting sulkier. ”How are the bandages holding up? Did I make them too tight or too loose?” Maybe that would be discrete enough. Sure, it wouldn’t tell her exactly what she wanted to know, but it was a starting point.

This was easy. Akeru almost happily thought, as he progressed diligently along his task. The work was definitely not hard at all after he adjusted his initial grip over the mop, and besides, moving about helped him to more quickly adjust to the pain from his fall. Soon enough, as he quietly worked, the earlier distressing pain became merely dull throbs here and there over his body. There was certain to be bruises, but that was fine. After he gets his hand healed up at the hospital, he'll be able to attend to the bruising himself. Once in his progress he had to stop and replace the rag on the edge of the bucket, as clenching the fabric between his hand and the mop's pole was making his grip starting to slightly slip.

Unfortunately, little did Akeru know, he was going about this all wrong. It was also rather unfortunate that he did not know this peculiar obstacle was what civilians meant as the trouble with aristocratic children. But it honestly was beyond his knowledge, he never had to do housework in his life before. The strict order of clan hierarchy relegated such tasks to the cadet family and even while living with Saiya-nee in Oto, she had her own servants. And so, he did not know that precisely because he was not mopping in straight lines, as it was standard to do, he was getting nowhere: he was trying to tackle each large cluster of water separately. Consequently, rather than making progress with mopping, all he did was spread the soapy water to one area, move it to another, and then back again.

When Amaya asked him a question, he still didn't stop the hand maneuvers with the mop, his eyes still on the ground even while responding: "Just fine." He answered evenly enough. It was honest enough an answer, he didn't feel the pain from his injured arm anymore. His head had hurt more - or so he thought - and the dully drumming pain from his spine assured that his back did not appreciate the abuse as well. Perhaps he should find a hip holster for his nodachi in the marketplace after this...

The child maintained her smile even though she knew Akeru was hurting at this point. Between his arm, head, and back it was a bit of a no brainer. However, it appeared as if he was able to work through it, and that was all comforting. She was a bit too far away to see what he was doing, so the child was unaware of the man’s ineffective mopping technique. Had she seen it, there would have been a stifled giggle and some, hopefully, gentle correction. Then again, with how unstable the Uchiha was at the moment it was probably best that she wasn’t offering any advice right now. However, it was also possible that his inability to mop would be a source of frustration for him and cause him to spiral back into his pouting corner.

It was probably a good thing that the small Keiji couldn’t see what Akeru was doing. Mentally debating what course of action to take probably would have hurt her head and confused her since she still wasn’t sure how Akeru would react to what. If she knew him better that might make it easier, but she was still learning about the man. She didn’t know if her giggle would make him mad. Maybe it would have been embarrassing for him. There was always the possibility that it would upset him as well. Then there was the option of indignation, which he had shown to her just moments ago. There were too many possibilities for the child to just go about like she normally would. No, she would continue to observe her newest friend and to watch herself and what words she allowed to slip.

Having moved onto the next section, Amaya busied herself scrubbing the floor and relinquishing the hold of the small red splatters. There was one spot that had managed to dry completely, so it was a bit more difficult to get up. With both hands, she pressed down hard on the rag as she moved it back and forth, trying to lift the mess. It was a pain, but it was working as well. Out damned spot, out I say! She was going to get this if it meant wearing a hole through the rag and that was that! Okay, maybe it wasn’t as difficult as she perceived it to be, but her arms were still somewhat sore from the pushups she had done earlier and she was unconsciously taking it easier on her right wrist because it was still hurting from her slight lapse in form earlier. Okay, it wasn’t a lapse in form, her weak little wrist had slipped to the side and done something funny.

No matter, the spot was finally relieved from its spot on the floor and she once again cleaned out the rag before moving onto the next section she could reach. Lucky for her, the sun should dry her pant legs before she got home. Otherwise she would get a lecture along the lines of “why do you have to attend the Academy to wash floors when you can do that here” from her mother and that would be no good. Not that she thought of it, she was probably going to have to wash the floors when she got home anyways. Blast.

DIFFERENT TIME THINGY (MORNING OF DAY 1)

Stomach growling loudly Hoeru sat down on the floor holding it. Her small lips curled as a pout formed. Inside her mind she was sniffling. Why? Because the girl was hungry of course! What other reason would someone of her age have to complain about with stomach pains? The poor child had been working for so long and concentrating so much that her stomach had created a black hole. Whatever it had had in it had now been devoured and left begging for more. The constant grumbling was making it hard for her to properly think straight, let alone worry about the last sets of hand seals she needed to perform. Her cannine companion had long gotten bored of being inside and was outside doing who knew what. Most likely trying to find a quiet place in the back to take a long relaxing nap away from all sorts of annoying loud obnoxious kids. For a long moment Hoeru just sat there in a state of almost hopelessness until a thought finally crossed her mind. SHE HAD FOOD! Well not really a full course meal or anything but because she had a cannine companion it was normal for her to walk around with treats, especially jerky, and jerky was something that she too could consume. Pulling it out she nibbled on a couple of strips just to satisfy her enough to keep her up on her feet without passing out till lunch.

Now that she was no longer starving she could properly finish her hand seal training. IT didn't take her much longer to finally finish the task. Finishing the last seal Hoeru felt a sense of victory crawl through her skin. HA! She had done it. Now on to the next task.

Now he understands why Shika-jii-chan quieted the rioting blue-collared workers a few months ago. Why would such simple work receive more of a pay? In his opinion, the construction workers deserved a higher pay... And even that was perhaps debatable as the Senju built houses far more quickly. But it was wartime, and most of the royal family were off to the battlefield. Well then, Akeru'll assume the restaurant owners deserve the best pay next, but that was pretty obviously correlative to how well they made their cuisine. If their cuisine was great, then they would receive more customers than their competition. So probably the outfitters were a better candidate then. The tailoring trade was not something shinobi particularly excelled in, nor was it exactly self-explanatory in terms of wages. For example, some articles of clothing were priced far too low - that made self-sustenance difficult for some civilians. It was a real pity.

He stopped shortly to observe the increasingly soapy floor. This was odd, he mused, before hesitantly lifting the mop and observing the even soapier jungle of fabric. He was pretty sure the opposite was supposed to happen: why are there so many suds now? Unhappily, he squished some of the bubbles with the mop. Maybe he could get rid of the bubbles pretty fast this way if he just squishes them one by one. But did the custodian really just leave the floor like this...? What if a student dropped a snack, and decided to honor the three second rule and pull it from the ground? Even more so, if the snack was one of those warm, wet kinds like the squid... It would be terrible! Soap suds definitely didn't taste good at all (he just had the honor to know)... And so, even as he busied himself with the task of cleaning, he felt his concern growing.

He chewed lightly on his lower lip, brows furrowing. But rather than asking the question that really wanted to be asked, pride won over reason, and he proceeded to attempt ridding the evidence the difficult way. Pop. There went one bubble. Pop pop. There went another two minuscule iridescent-colored spheres. Pop pop pop. There were so many of them! Why were there so many? This would take forever! Should he just use Raiton...? It would definitely solve his problem...

Would it?

The small girl was making good progress on the floor as she steadily moved toward the spot Akeru was working on. Amaya made her slight shift to the side so that she was amongst more spots to be cleaned. There was a quiet scuff against the wooden floor as the child pulled the bucket over towards her so that she could rewet the cloth in her hand. With how faithful she was being about cleaning the rag off periodically it would be easier for her to make this one rag last the entire project. She had learned that back at home. It was no fun to constantly change out rags and it was a waste. To top it off, it was easier to clean out a dirty bucket, but having to wash many, many towels was just a pain. More soap, more water, more scrubbing. No, she would much rather have to change out the water periodically if it came down to that. However, with how little Akeru actually bled it wasn’t like the water was filthy yet. As a matter of fact, the child was almost positive that she was picking up more dirt than blood at this point. Oh well, a floor can never be too clean.

With her small but strong scrubbing patterns the blood was continuing to leave the floor and find a new home either in the bucket or on the rags Amaya was using. It was almost nice that she got the chance to do something that was familiar to her…even if it wasn’t actual training. After all, the day had been filled with new and uncomfortable training that she hadn’t even pondered before they were presented. If you had asked her what chakra was just the day before she would have given you a very general, and fairly inaccurate, answer; whereas today she could give you a clear definition and she could even provide an example of how to use it. After all, that had been all she had been doing for the most part of the day. Chakra, chakra, chakra. That had also led to lots of down time since, oddly enough, her chakra stores were not that great and she had to take time to recover while training. That was alright, she would train in order to make the rest of her training easier. Did that make any sense.

The child was lost in her thoughts as she moved about the floor, scrubbing and scanning and repeating with a periodic rinse. Once again she scooted herself to the side, working her way towards the classroom, and closer to Akeru as she worked. However, being lost in her thoughts and the recollections of the day, she had yet to notice his confused act of bubble popping. It was probably for the best too. She would have been just as confused as he was had she seen what he was doing. Then again, this was all pretty basic stuff for her. Scrub the floor, rinse the rag, wring the rag, scrub the floor. Oddly enough, it haven’t taken her long to learn with her mother standing over her and telling her exactly what to do.

While Amaya busied herself, Akeru decided to try the Raidendou anyways. He set his mop lightly down on the ground, before reaching for his nodachi. It took a few hoists to yank it from the sheath with his one good hand, because this was not his sword arm. Somehow, he did manage to free it without cutting himself. His eyes trailed down to the blade, the edge was stained with his own blood, and with a sigh, he realized he should probably try and rid the stain while he was at it with cleaning. He set the longsword on the ground, before settling to a crouch and reaching for the rag that hung on the edge of the bucket. He dipped the cloth into the lukewarm water once, twice, before pulling it out again. His left foot settled then on the hilt of the nodachi, placing the pressure needed to hold it still, before he settled to wiping the sword's long blade beginning with one side.

As the blood had crusted and become dark, he had to force his nails a little into the cloth in order to scrape the bits of metallic bronze from the blade's surface. When this side of the blade was satisfactorily bright again, he removed his foot, flipped the blade over, and then repeated the process, scrubbing hard at the length of the sword. It would be wonderful perhaps if Akeru had found some manner to do this much wrong, but unfortunately, this was not the case. In time, he held up the nodachi happily, and brandishing the point of the blade like a wand on a soap bubble, he let loose a jolt of lightning chakra at it. To his utter glee, the bubbles began frying quickly in rapid succession - some of the water too - before with a hiss, there was a light trace of steam in the halls.

Unfortunately, he had succeeded in remarkably ionizing the impurities in the water... The surface of the water crackled with electricity, but Akeru took absolute no notice, and after replacing his nodachi back on its holster, he held up his mop again. A few things happened at once when the moist end of the mop's head contacted the crackling surface. There was a prompt yelp of pain, before he was forced to let go of the mop, and it crashed to the ground.

The child’s head was down, making way of her busy work scrubbing the floors. She had moved on to the next section and finally noticed that Akeru really wasn’t making any progress. No matter, the child would clean all of it if need be; though she knew that the young man probably wouldn’t appreciate that. No matter, Amaya kept on scrubbing the blood stains and progressing along the trail towards the classroom. Out of the corner of her eye, the child noted Akeru taking out his nodachi with somewhat of a struggle, though that wasn’t surprising, and going to cleaning. That was alright, at least he was making some use of himself in one form or another. Not that he wasn’t useful or anything, he just seemed to be having issues with this whole cleaning the floor thing.

With a smile, the Keiji returned her attention back to the floor and the stains that were slowly but surely becoming more and more difficult to clean as she went along the line. It was a little irritating, but no matter. She would finish it up eventually. The only thing the girl was concerned with was getting it all up before her classmates started coming through the halls and wondering why in the world there was a trail of blood and why was she cleaning it. Great, it just occurred to her how entirely suspicious this could be when seen by the right person. That would go over wonderfully; accused of murder on her first day at the Academy. That would be one heck of a story to tell her parents. She thought some of her other stories would get her yank out of the Academy, well that one would get her locked in the metal storage for safe keeping. She would probably never see the light of day again. Yeah, she needed to get this cleaned up.

The child was yanked from her thoughts when she heard a hissing sound and was promptly hit with a shock. Without thinking about it, the child quickly stood and took a step back – not entirely sure what had just happened. It was apparent that, in that moment of contentment, her Uchiha companion was in his own little world because he didn’t even hesitate to stick the mop into the crackling liquid. Yeah, he wasn’t paying attention. This was evident as the man yelped slightly and quickly dropped the mop. What in the world had he just done?! Amaya knew that water didn’t just suddenly, magically, gain an electric charge. The child’s thin, short hair stood on end as a gentle crackle of electricity danced around her ears. Amaya’s chest hurt from the sudden shock, but it wasn’t some sort of raging, unbearable pain; it was just annoying. She looked ridiculous and she felt a little off kilter, but she was standing and that in and of itself was comforting since her pants had been soaked, helping to conduct the electricity.

Taking in a slow, deep breath, Amaya calmed her nerves as they were all suddenly on edge with the surprise of an electric jolt. Her shining black eyes looked over, searching Akeru. ”Um…Akeru-san,” Her voice was quiet and it was incredibly uncomfortable to talk, but that wasn’t about to stop her. ”What just happened?” Yeah, she was confused. Since Amaya knew very little about jutsu to begin with it wasn’t too big of a surprise that she knew nothing about raiton jutsu.

Just because water conforms does not mean it is any lesser an element.

Theme: So Not Fooling Around

Thankfully, he hadn't applied the full force of that Raiton technique (he wouldn't have risked that), and so while the jolt gave him quite the shocker, at the very least he had not succeeded in leaving burns on his good hand. Every cell of his body was standing on edge in pain though, protesting the shock and temporary disruption to their signaling system. But after the damage registered, the influx of reactions quickly came: he chewed on his lower lip even as his eyes welled up with tears. Though Akeru didn't realize yet, and even if he did, he would've probably not cared, he and Amaya also looked ridiculous right now: their hair had fuzzed up into the shape of a temporary afro. But he wouldn't have been concerned of something small like that...no, what had complete shocked him even more than the Raiton Jutsu was that....

Amaya had to ask the question then, and as if on cue, he flinched. It was pretty obvious by now that the Raiton had been a terrible idea, though he did get rid some of the soapy water. But he had underestimated how dangerous remnants could be... And if what he just experienced was anything to go by, Konoha could get a lawsuit for having this sort of impure water. Why didn't anyone notice before? And no matter what, that shouldn't have been theoretically possible! Whhhhhy! It was only unfortunate he had to cut short the bewailing voice in his mind.

"But the bubbles..." He began weakly. "I thought I was supposed to get rid of them..."

The young man’s words drifted on the air and through the child’s mind as she stared at him almost dumbfounded. How did she not think of this? Of course with Akeru’s upbringing, though she didn’t know that much of it, he wouldn’t know how to clean. The young girl couldn’t help it, Amaya covered her mouth as she giggled, but startled to a stop as she was met with a residual arc of static electricity shocking her lip. None the less, she looked over at the Uchiha, a slight tilt to her head, with a smile. It only made sense that pride would get in the way of such a mundane task. At least no one had been truly hurt in the matter. Well, their appearances had been hurt, but that wasn’t of importance.

Amaya walked to the janitor’s closet and pulled out another mop. It was all and all too big for her, but she would make it work. The child walked over to the man, wary of stepping in the water, and picked up his mop too. She stood there with them both leaning on her shoulder and looking up at the man. Amaya saw the tears building in his eyes. The child would have reached up to touch his cheek, but with more than two feet of difference between the two she just couldn’t reach. Instead, she gave his good arm a gentle squeeze with both hands as she smiled at him. ”It’s alright, Akeru-san.” Her hair still stood on end and she imagined that she looked as ridiculous as he did, if not more so. ”You’ve taught me so much today that the very least I can do is teach you how to mop the floor. Would that be alright with you?” It was obvious that the man had been embarrassed to ask for assistance, but Amaya also understood why. Since she had grown up in your average household she had been taught to tend to herself and the family. Akeru, on the other hand, was more or less one of the many Konoha royals. It shouldn’t have been a surprise that he had been raised without housework. He had other things to attend to.

The child’s smile never left her face as she leaned the handle of his mop towards him. She wasn’t going to force him into helping out, but she was going to give him every opportunity to learn if he wanted to. Plus, what she had said was true. He had trained her in target practice and, though it wasn’t intentional, he had also given her a wonderful opportunity to practice her first aid abilities; she wasn’t going to mention that though. Amaya’s eyes were kind as she looked up at the man. While she hopped he would accept her offer, she wasn’t going to fault him for choosing to walk away from the ordeal; which was putting it lightly in their case.
