The two traveled down a bit on Route 2. They noticed a fellow trainer busy by the road; hunched over with his hands trying to untangle his net from a fresh Caterpie he caught. Treize and Blaze decided to mind their own business and pass on by until Treize accidentally steps on a small twig.
*snap*
The Bug Catcher turns over quickly to see what was the noise. With a gleeful smirk, he gets up and approaches the two. "Hey you! How about we have a pokemon battle with my Caterpies? Treize and Blaze look to each other and Treize shrugs. "Ok I guess. Blaze, let's go!" He shouts.
The Bug Catcher tosses out his first of two pokeballs out - expelling a Caterpie. "Go, Caterpie!" The Caterpie and Blaze square off.
"Alright, Blaze, use Bite!" Without a moment to lose, Blaze zigzags as he closes in on the Caterpie and lunges in with a large, ferocious bite. A painful cry is heard from the Caterpie while Blaze breaks away and creates a gap between the two.
"You're not out of the fight, Caterpie! String Shot that Growlithe!" Strands and strands of white, silky string shoots forth from the Caterpie's mouth; covering Blaze in the white haze of silk.
"Really? String Shot? Blaze, finish that Caterpie off with Bite!" The Growlithe bolts for the Caterpie again. But as Blaze closes in, the strands that wrapped around his legs tightened and trips him up - causing him to fall face first in front of the Caterpie.
"Perfect! Now Tackle him, Caterpie!" Rearing up, the Caterpie charges and tackles Blaze. He lets out a howl of pain before struggling to get up; he was hurt but nowhere near out of the game. "Blaze, finish this now with Bite!" Blaze blitzes the Caterpie with the KO bite. Upon releasing his victim, the Caterpie staggers a bit then faints.
"Darn it! Caterpie, return! Well let's make a second go with my other Caterpie!" he shouts and tosses out his last pokeball - releasing another Caterpie.

Terrato wanted to use another move against the slimy opponent. Something that didn't hurt him when he used it, like his mud bomb or his ice shard, tackle was just to weak against this opponent. And he knew Mud Bomb would pack a punch against the toxic entity, but he remembered Crenu's words. He wanted him to use his physical power, to build his muscles, and he actually felt rather good doing it. Whenever he used his mud bomb or his powdered snow, while the attacks felt good and natural to him, there was a certain punch that they were missing. They didn't feel like they had any real force behind them, and they left him wanting more. Like he was using half hearted attacks, they just didn't give him the same satisfaction he got when he punched through something with his solid build. Even though he was a small Swinub Terrato sure felt a lot bigger, and his muscles actually ached for more. This was his natural state it seemed, he was really meant to dig his hooves in the ground and push with all his power to bring down his opponents, so that's what he was going to do. He let out a fierce snort, which coming from him just looked cute, and charged. Bubbles, who was still recovering from being struck by rocks, looked at the Swinub charging him like a Tauros. He had very little time, and all he could do was punch. But his fist didn't go anywhere, and instead a shadowy fist jumped out at Terrato from nowhere, plowing into his side. Bubbles was safe for now, and Terrato rolled back onto his feet and stared down the Muk, who stared back. Korra was busy looking at Pet Shop who was circling above, her playing the helpless victim wasn't gonna work a second time so this was more of a one on one fight now. Or so she thought. Both Korra and Pet shop were so busy reading each other than they didn't notice the rain of rocks that befell them both as Newgate turned his attention to them. The first stone struck Pet Shop and send the bird spiraling down to earth, the second caught Korra as she looked at the Fearow with surprise. Both were pummeled by the super effective rocks as Newgate watched with unwavering eyes, the pile of rocks leaving two pokemon out cold as they settled. Crenu sighed and shook his head, Pet Shop got to easily caught up in his own vendetta and Korra was to wrapped up in her mischief, both didn't learn the lesson he wanted to teach today, which was keep on your toes. he recalled them both to their pokeballs, and turned his attention to Carmen who had taken a rock and levitated it, chucking it a few feet with her mental ability, possibly imitating Newgate. Crenu tried his hardest not to let the thoughts 'cute' enter his brain as he watched her.

The small little bug coughed a bit at the squeeze Robin gave him. The cough though didn't turn out to be so small though instead it turned out to be a burst of embers. Both Robin and the Breeder gave out a surprised cry and the Breeder backed up a little. "Oh my!" She said looking down at the bug in Robin's arms. " I didn't know that was a fire pokemon." She said looking down at the blue eyed bug with more curiosity. "What exactly is this pokemon?"
Robin herself was pretty surprised. Sure Zuko felt pretty warm but she had no idea he had fire moves! Lifting the little bug up she looked at him frowning a little. "Well, I am not exactly sure. I am supposed to meet up with someone who might know what it is in Veilstone. They think he might be something called a Larvesta."
"Wow, I have never heard of a pokemon that needed to be identified by a professor or something. Where did you get it?"
At this Robin blushed a little but she grinned feeling a bit proud even if she didn't do anything anyway. "Ah well it just appeared! I wasn't really doing anything and it just appeared. This little guy came out of it to." Robin smiled at the blue eyed bug that she was holding up, Zuko just looked down at her and blinked. "Heh, anyway I need to be heading out. Thank you for the battle though!" The two of them waved and Robin headed over to where Ampersand was waiting off to the side. "Sorry about the wait there!"

The two trainers released their pokemon, On Dante's side was his angry and newly hatched Deino, on the wrestlers side was an energetic looking Machop. Dante had to hide his grin, ok so this was a fighting type gym, not that he couldn't tell from the interior decorations. Still with his dark type pokemon and looking at how energetic and strong looking Machop there was no way he wouldn't not be knocked out by this trainer!
"What is that tiny looking little dragon thing?" The wrestler laughed, apparently he had never seen this pokemon before either, though seeing as Dante had only found out about it this morning he wasn't to surprised. "Well whatever, Machop let's take it down with a Karate Chop!" The Superpower pokemon let out a mighty cry as it charged at Dante's young pokemon. For a moment Dante felt a little bad for the little monster that was about to get a beating but he really had no desire for a gym battle right now, besides the little beast deserved it for biting him and attacking Kenny earlier. So Dante just watched as the fighting type got ready to strike down his little dragon when she opened her mouth and let out a blast of blue fire right into the Machops face. The fighting pokemon coughed and stared with wide eyes towards the growling little ball of hate in front of it.
"Um, good work Kali" Dante congratulated. Inside though while he was a little impressed at how strong that blast was he was a bit upset that she hadn't just been knocked out. It wasn't over though Kali seemed to just like to attack the closest thing to her and now that a new chewtoy was in front of her she charged forward in a Tackle. The Machop though had enough sense to step out of the way. Without eyes though, or maybe her sight was hidden beneath the matted hair she couldn't see, she kept running. The Irate Pokemon hit the rubber sides of the ring and bounced off sending her off in other direction.

Riza narrowed her eyes, deciding not to let the fact that she was battling her older brother get to her. A Slam attack should be easy to dodge and she gave a nod. "Akima, you can evade that easily," she said, and the Weavile easily proved her trainer right, hopping back and using her amazing agility to dance out of the way as Dragonair's tail came slamming down toward her. "Use Icy Wind," she called, clenching a fist. Akima nodded and did just that, breathing in deeply before expelling a frigid blast of icy air towards Jaden's Dragonair.
There wasn't a lot the dragon-type could do other than put his head down and stand up to it, and the dragon shivered noticeably as the icy wind washed over him. Dragons really didn't like the cold so the attack was super effective. The damage wasn't as bad as it could have been, thanks to Dragonair being at a higher level than Akima, but unless he could hit her, it was unlikely that they could win. Jaden wasn't worried, though, standing with his arms crossed and looking pretty calm. "No worries, Dragonair," he said, giving a nod. "We've still got more moves up our sleeves. Let's try a Dragon Rage next." The large, slender dragon reared back his head before spitting out a blue and purple burst of flames.
Riza was quite familiar with Dragon Rage now, so she knew it could take a chunk out of Akima if she wasn't careful. She also didn't want to spend the entire battle dodging, as that would only wear the Weavile out. Faustus watched from the sidelines, remembering that he'd met the older dragon-type once before. They were brothers or something? He couldn't quite remember. All he knew was that Dragonair was tough, and he felt oddly inspired to try and battle more himself. The indigo flames scorched the Weavile and she cried out as she'd been unable to dodge. Riza crossed her arms as well, knowing that she'd have to soften the dragon up before she could really get some damage done. "Akima, Screech!" she called, preemptively covering her ears. Akima opened her mouth and let out a terrible wail, causing both Jaden and his Dragonair to wince from the harsh sound.
Once the Screech had died down, Jaden glanced over at the Weavile, recalling that it was the kind that needed to get up close and personal in order to deal the most damage. He wasn't out to hurt his baby sister's Pokemon, but he promised himself he wouldn't take it easy on her, as she still had a lot to learn. "Dragonair, Flamethrower," he called. "Keep her at bay!" The dragon-type, still recovering from the painful noise gave a nod, once again rearing back his head, but this time the flames that erupted from his mouth were a hot red-orange, and even Jaden could feel the heat as the flames sped toward the ice-type. * * * * * Katie couldn't help but think about the battle as she headed toward the entrance to Mt. Coronet. She didn't like having one of her Pokemon being unable to battle as she traveled, but she didn't want to lose the time going back to the pokecenter, either. She knew Miles would be resting peacefully inside his poke ball so it was likely that he'd be fine until she made it through to Hearthome City. She hadn't put Kord back in his poke ball yet either as the Elekid was looking pretty happy about his win, and Katie wanted to let him gloat a bit. "You must really look up to Cable, then," she said, smiling at the electric-type. Kord cheered and pumped his little fists, striking a pose so he looked more like the older Electivire. Katie laughed. "Yes, you're tough too, and someday you'll be just as tough as Cable. And if not, stronger." Kord wasn't sure what to make of that so he posed again. He felt stronger, and he somehow knew it wouldn't be long before he'd be able to prove it.
He was still a young Pokemon after all so it wasn't much later when the little guy became tired, so Katie put him back in his ball for some well deserved rest. She'd almost forgotten about Darla, as the Solosis had been napping on her head for almost the entire time, and it wasn't until she started to stir that Katie remembered her. "Have a nice nap?" she asked the levitating psychic-type, who nodded and nuzzled up against her. "I guess you behave yourself pretty well if you're the only one out, huh?"

As the two girls made their way back outside, Kasiya introduced herself as they found a place to battle. Elena seemed very interested in talking to Kasiya all about Raichu, though Kasiya certainly didn't return the enthusiasm. Under normal circumstances, she would have loved to meet a trainer that adored the same Pokemon she did, but right now all it was doing was adding to her heartache of losing Shocker. She looked over as the girl and her Raichu got ready, and she began to go over her own Pokemon, trying to decide who to use. Her fingers brushed Ariados' Pokeball, and she smiled. Perhaps it was time for the spider Pokemon to make her debut! She decided then that she wasn't going to let this battle get to her as she released her newest (well, second newest) Pokemon. Ariados appeared in a flash of light, her eyes closed. The last time she had been out of her Pokeball, she had been told she wasn't good enough and that Crenu was getting rid of her. This was it, wasn't it? She was being released into a strange land that she didn't know...
Ariados opened an eye to see a rather energetic mouse standing before her, electricity crackling from its cheeks. She clicked her mandibles and backed up, now looking around. It looked like she was in a battle, but it couldn't be, could it? She chanced a glance back, expecting to see Crenu's cold stare, but instead she was greeted with a genuine smile from a familiar blonde girl. "Hey there," she said, giving a wave. The spider offered only a blank look in return. "I'm your trainer now," she said. "Crenu and I made a trade, and now you and I are on the same team, isn't that great?"
The spider didn't seem as enthusiastic, offering only a short hiss at the proposition. This was worse than being released; she'd been traded away to that ditzy blonde that kept getting too close to her Shiro! She hissed again, and turned to look at the Raichu as her new "trainer" took out her PokeDex to study the available moves. Elena, meanwhile, hadn't missed the exchange between Kasiya and her Ariados, but she wasn't in a hurry to get things underway so she waited patiently. When the blonde seemed to finish up, Elena smiled. "Ready to go?"
"Ready," Kasiya agreed. "Ready, Ariados?" The spider made a clicking noise as a response, but she was ready. There was something about this girl that made her feel she should obey, but she wasn't quite sure exactly why. "Let's start of with your, um, Night Shade!" It seemed like a safe option, as she knew making physical contact with the electric mouse would likely result in paralysis. Ariados reared back on her hind legs, the spike on her head emitting a shadowy aura. It spread out across the ground and headed for the Raichu.
=-=-=-=-= Karrigan watched her Pokemon a bit longer, mostly amazed with Ikouma's sudden and unexpected mentoring of the young Cubchoo. Naga seemed to be a quick learner and within a few moments she was able to keep her fist shining with icy energy, and now it was only a matter of building up strength. Karrigan couldn't help but be impressed and she was actually happy as she watched the two Ice-types practice their Ice Punches. This would be good for Ikouma too, as he'd never really gotten along with any of his teammates before, particularly Zaira. Now that she was paying attention, it didn't seem like any of her Pokemon had noticed the Shinx's absence. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and looked at it, hoping that the Electric-type would do well with Kasiya. The blonde seemed to know what she was doing, and she smiled as she remembered Riza's comments. Perhaps the darker-haired girl was a tad jealous of Kasiya's skills.
Regardless, with her two Ice-types preoccupied, it was time to delegate some more training, and she looked over to see Calliope cooing happily as an eager Amber scampered up and down her back. Both Pokemon seemed to be enjoying themselves, and for a moment Karrigan stared at them. Amber didn't seem to like anyone, not even her, so it seemed odd that the Vulpix would enjoy the company of a Grass-type. "Hey, do you two want to train?" she asked, prompting nods from the both of them. "All right. Calliope, you work on your Razor Leaf and Gust attacks. Amber, you need to focus on dodging and evading attacks. Callie will be aiming at you, so you need to get out of the way." The Vulpix narrowed her eyes at her trainer, but didn't disagree as she turned to the Tropius and gave a nod. The two went off on their own, and soon Callie was shooting off a wide volley of razor-sharp leaves at the fox. Amber opened her mouth and unleashed a blast of fire which stopped any of the closes leaves from hitting her, but that was not what Karrigan wanted. "Amber, dodging!" she called. "You can use your Quick Attack if you need to, but no fire!" Amber pouted noticeably, her six tails flicking in annoyance.

Jasper studied his Pokemon as the three of them started to mingle, and he realized pretty quickly that it would be a good idea to include Paras in this. The poor, timid Pokemon could use all the social interaction he could get, as it seemed like every time he added a new Pokemon to the team, the bug type seemed to lose it. The only Pokemon that Paras sort-of trusted was Ditto, so he once again released the Mushroom Pokemon, only after bringing the Ditto-chu closer. "He likes you best," Jasper explained as the bug and grass type appeared beside them, and Ditto shifted back to its base form, greeting his first teammate with what could pass for a wave from a gelatinous blob. Paras looked around, eyes wide, but he relaxed a little when he saw that Totodile and Zorua were playing some distance away. "Ditto, please turn into a Paras, that way you two can train together. But try to keep the spore attacks to a minimum, I don't want to be running you two into the center every five minutes because someone poisoned someone else, got it?" The pair of Mushroom Pokemon nodded and scuttled off, and Jasper sighed. All these transforming and shape-shifting Pokemon were quite a handful.
Totodile and Zorua, meanwhile, were engrossed in a game of tag, neither noticing the two Paras somewhat behind them facing off, and then occasionally flailing their claws at each other. "Okay, you two," Jasper said, getting their attention. Zorua ran right up to her trainer and began to nuzzle his leg. Totodile lingered behind, looking almost a tad jealous. "Zorua's still a baby, so her attacks aren't very strong just yet. I think it would be okay for her to attack, and for you to practice your defense, Totodile." He smiled and patted the gator on the head, and she perked up a bit. "Besides, your attacks are already quite strong. I'm not worried about those." It took a bit to get the two Pokemon in their places, but when they were ready, they almost didn't need any further instruction. 'Zorura's attacks are Scratch and Leer, and it says here she knows something called Extrasensory,' Jasper thought as he went over his Pokedex. He was a little disappointed that there were so few moves, but he wagered that she'd learn more as she gained more experience. "Zorua, Scratch!" he called. The little fox gave a giggle and darted toward Totodile, who puffed out her chest in an attempt to look tough. The end result wasn't exactly smooth: Zorua bounced off Totodile like a little red and black ball and went rolling back until she came to a stop. Totodile was just standing there, blinking and rubbing the spot where Zorua had made contact. Jasper wanted to be disappointed, but the display was just too funny and he laughed out loud. "All right. Let's try that one again." * * * * * * * * * * Somewhere behind her, Hayley was sure she heard Kressen call out in victory, and she smiled to herself, hoping he'd managed to catch that Caterpie. Sure, those Pokemon weren't very strong now, but once they'd fully evolved into Butterfree and had a lot more moves at their disposal, they became much more of a threat in battle. It didn't take long, however, for the human to lose sight of the yellow creature she was pursuing and she had to stop, both to catch her breath and to rest her legs, which had begun to ache from the run, despite how short it had seemed. "Ow," the brunette groaned, sliding down against the solid base of a thick tree trunk and rolling up one of her pant legs. There were no visible current injuries, just a long, twisting and ugly scar from one of the many surgeries she'd been through in her early childhood to repair the damage in her legs. The doctors had done a miraculous job in saving her ability to walk, though she did experience random and often phantom pains in her legs from time to time, be it from stress or forgetting to warm up properly before serious physical exertion.
Ivy had wandered up beside her trainer, eyeing the girl's mangled-looking leg with curiosity. Hayley giggled sheepishly and rolled her pant leg back down. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine. Just a bit winded, is all," she said, lightly patting the top of the Snivy's head. "It's a shame we lost it, though. I really want to see a Pikachu first-hand." Ivy just shrugged, as she really didn't care either way. She'd just not wanted to be left behind as her new trainer chased after something fast and yellow. Once Hayley's legs felt rested the duo stood up again, and Hayley sighed. "I guess we should press on," she said, giving a nod. "We're already in the forest, we might as well keep going. Pewter City is on the other side, and there's a gym there. I think, especially now with you on our side, that we can beat the leader." She stooped down and picked up the Snivy, who was looking at her curiously. "It's a rock gym. A grass type like you will mow them down like nothing." Ivy contemplated this, and gave a nod. The only thing they had to do now was raise up Ivy's level so she was on par with Hayley's other Pokemon.

The forest foliage was incredibly thick and hard to see through. "Man Gigas, I'm amazed every time we come here with how thick the trees are in here. I do hope we find them." Following the path he thought Hayley went he trudged through the forest with all the stealth of a stampeding Tauros.
Hayley was more likely to hear him before he saw her. He'd yell out, but he didn't want to scream out her name and risk scaring off her Pikachu or attarct another swarm of Beedrill so all he could do was rest against a tree and think a moment.
"Stay here for a moment Gigas. I'll climb up a tree real quick and see if I can spot one of them." He set his pack on the ground and started to shimmy up the nearest tree to find one of the girls. He'd reach a branch twenty feet off the ground and sit down on it and begin looking around.

"Hmm, like a Rapidash eh? That's right...they don't hurt their rider even though they have a flaming mane...ok I think I get it now. She's young and still learning, so it's important I let her know now that she has to be careful when she plays. Or in general. I don't mind getting scratched up every now and then but the others, and my other pokemon, I have to make sure everyone is safe. Atlas, my Onix, is shooting up like a weed, he's gonna have to learn that lesson too. He's pretty good about it though. Heh heh, when he's a big strong Steelix we're gonna have to come and challenge you, steel type fan to another." He said with a big grin as Nyx walked over to him, looking up at Jason arms raised and happy. He bend down to pick her up and waved at the phone as he cradled her as if Byron could see him. "Thanks a lot, you've really helped me out. Ah, speaking of battles, I'd like one with you too." He said turning his attention back to Roark, his blood was pumping with excitement now and he did promise a challenge after getting some help. Zeus was hovering around keeping his unblinking eye on Nyx, ready to intervene if she got troublesome again. The good thing about being a fellow steel type, and a higher leveled one at that, was that his body could take her blades pretty well.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Crenu watched as it was down to three. He wasn't expecting two pokemon to be taken out by Newgate's attacks, maybe Korra, but it was clear that they didn't get the lesson plan at all. Not like Bubbles and Terrato, who were honestly more concerned with Newgate than themselves at this point. Even after having taken the Shadow Punch the two just sort of circled each other, eyes glancing back at Newgate every few seconds almost afraid to attack each other for fear of getting rained on by the rocks. This wasn't good either though. Only focusing on the outside hazards is just as bad, because while in this scenario both pokemon were allies and well aware that there was an outside threat, that wouldn't always be the case and they were both completely open to being struck down by the other. Newgate wasn't gonna waste any time though, even though they were looking at him he still unleashed his volley of rocks, the large slabs of stone lifting from the earth to be broken and rain down upon the two dueling pokemon. However, what happened next was not expected at all. As the attack was thrown out Terrato suddenly charged at Bubbles, who in turn sank to the ground and used his large slimy hand as a spring board to boost the Swinub forward towards Newgate. Ice crystals started to form and with a mighty grunt the Ice Shards were launched like bullets towards the Pupitar who's ever unchanging gaze took a sudden look of surprise. For a lesson in always keeping your guard up, it looked like even he failed as turn about was clearly fair play even if Crenu hadn't said it. The ice chunks broke against his hard shell but not without causing a lot of pain to the rock/ground type who's concentration was broken causing the rocks to fall randomly as opposed to an aimed attack. But that wasn't it, as rocks rained down all over the field missing their targets, Bubbles threw his fist forward, a similar shadowy hand raising from the shadow behind Newgate and slamming the disoriented pokemon from behind and knocking him to the floor. It was a sneaky move, a well planned counter attack that Terrato and Bubbles had been planning quietly as they pretended to circle each other, and Crenu was impressed. Newgate was much less thrilled about this, and the normally stoic pokemon, much like his owner, showed a very obvious sign of anger in his eyes as he shot right back up, the attacks weren't enough to finish him, but they sure as hell pissed him off. He let out an angry almost roar like cry, rare for the normally silent hard shell pokemon, and Crenu could have sworn he saw the image of the terrifying rage beast he would one day evolve into as sand started to whip up violently from the sand storm he was creating. "That's enough Newgate, maintain your composure." He said as he shook his head and recalled him to his pokeball, glaring at the sphere as he held it tightly and the sand that had been risen started to die down never having had teh change to get up to speed. "Don't lose your head because you were taken by surprise. You should have been paying attention better. I expected better from you over anyone else. And you two...well done. You've earned your break." With that Bubbles and Terrato were also recalled, and with all the balls safely on his belt Crenu looked around wondering what to do next. Should he go looking for Riza? Or wonder on his own for a while? The girls were no longer gathered where they were before so the battle taking place over there was over, and she hadn't come looking for him when it was done. She had probably gone off to do something on her own then, so rather than bother her he decided to head out randomly as he thought of a plan. First thing was first though, he needed to get his pokemon healed up. So he started back towards the center, Carmen following close behind.

Mike nodded quickly in reply. Time. That's all they both needed. Just time. Then things would be back to normal. He was just impatient.
Time heals all wounds.
He doesn't hate you! That's a win! Two for two! Those aren't bad!
Hearing 'Kassie' was enough to snap him away from the ghosts. "And I'm sure I'll deserve it!" Mike said with a weak, anxious laugh at Keegan's threat. While this wasn't the first time the red-head had promised him harm (and he was positive it would not be the last), the casual tone of his words made it that much more frightening. "Hurting people was never on my to-do list, especially her."
Of course she's hurt. a ghost mused. She always hides it.
"Yeah, she does. And she's bad at it, too." Mike said with a chuckle. "Jaeshan..." he scrunched his face as he tried to remember the boy. His memory of certain things have been hazy at best. The phantoms beside him began to morph into shadows trying to match his mental perusing. "I'm sure I've met him but that's not the point." he said to no one really. "That's awful. I hope he turns up." he paused. "Alive, I mean. Like, not dead." Holy s**t he was so tired, but that was about to get solved real quick.
"Stolen!?" Mike repeated.
Right from under your nose!
Sounds like we'll be raiding yet another gang base. What would that make, three in a week? one of the smaller ghosts punched the air. Vigilantism!
"That shouldn't have happened. I was right there."
It's not your fault. You were outnumbered. And you had to deal with...him.
Mike sighed. He was too tired to argue. "No excuse." He looked up as Keegan prepared to leave. "Hey. No matter what I've got your back, okay? I'm just a phone call away if you need it." He knew the red-head wouldn't take him up on the offer. He never had, in all the years they'd been friends, but he always offered, and he knew that Keegan understood he meant it.
"Just take care of yourself, okay? Lavaridge doesn't need two reckless morons, ya know?"

“Don’t let it happen again.” Ampersand gave her a serious look and held it the best he could while Robin blanched and started to sputter out apologies. Ampersand for his part kept his straight face on up until they made it through the gate and into Hearthome. “I was just teasing you Robin, don’t worry about it. Now what do you think about Hearthome city?” He asked knowing she hadn’t been paying too much attention to it as she had been apologizing to him.
Feeling better Robin took a deep breath, she really was sorry if she upset her friend, she knew he was busy and he could find any other trainer to take him up to Snowpoint faster than she was doing. Still he stuck with her, even getting her the training that she probably really desperately needed. Without him she would have been totally lost! She might not even have her badge from Eternia city! Pushing those thoughts out of her mind Robin looked up at the city around her and her breath was stolen again. It was amazing! I was the afternoon and already the lights were shining and loud sounds were everywhere. It was like there was some sort of carnival going on, but there wasn’t! This city was amazing! From what she could see it was amazing though. “Oh wow it’s so cool!”
Next to her Ampersand laughed and Robin frowned at him. “We need to get moving on though, we have to get this little guy identified right?” He gave her an apologetic smile as he patted the slumbering Zuko on the head. Seeing her face falling in sadness he sighed feeling guilty a bit about their rigorous schedule. “It isn’t going to be the last time we visit here, there is a gym here. So you will defiantly be back, you can spend the whole day exploring then.” Ampersand hoped his little peace offering would work, seeing the way that her face brightened up he guessed that it did.
“All right I will hold you to that!” Robin cheered as she adjusted Luffy on her shoulder; the Ambipom was just as interested in this city as she was. With that they started to make their way through the bright lights of the city, occasionally Ampersand would point out some things to her. Robin had the feeling they were taking the long way through the town just for her benefit. They were just passing the contest hall when a young girl with a bright raincoat come and smashed into Robin. “Woah! Hold on there!” Robin steadied herself so as not to fall down before helping the girl up. “You ok?” She squatted down so she was eye to eye with the kid.
The little girl was bawling as she looked up at Robin. “He’s lost! I lost him!”

Went rebounding right into the Machop sending it sprawling on the ground the dark dragon on top of it. Dante, the Wrestler and Angelic both stared at the scene with shocked expressions, Dante just slapped a hand over his face and wished that he didn’t have good luck in pokemon battles now. Maybe his different luck sides were at war at the moment. His bad luck at everything else was in cohoots with his ability to win pokemon battles with not too much effort? No, he couldn’t think like that, that way lead to madness and Dante wasn’t quite looking forward to going crazy just yet. Sighing he was at least happy to see the Machop get up and throw his angry little monster across the field. Unfortunately no one seemed to learn any lesson from last time and the rubber sides bounced the snarling Deino back at the fighting type. Soon the battle was now evolved into some sort of snarling mess of fur, muscles and occasional flashes of dragon fire.
Still as seemingly powerful as his little dragon was there was just no way it could last or even win against the more experienced and type advantage that the Machop had. The Deino was knocked out with a swift Karate Chop to the head. Feeling a little relieved, and he was now more than impressed with the snarling Kali he recalled her back into her pokeball. “Well I lost. Guess I can’t challenge the gym leader then.” He tried not to sound too happy about that.
The Wrestler though was giving Dante a weird look. “You weren’t trying to win were you!” He accused pointing a finger at him. “I bet that was your weakest pokemon wasn’t it?”
Dante felt no need to tell him that the egg had hatched hours ago. “No that was my strongest; I stand no chance agai-oof!” Dante was quickly silenced by an elbow to his gut from Angelic.
“You little liar! No he has a lot more strong pokemon. That little,” Angelic couldn’t even think of a nice name to call his Deino, “monster, is his most inexperienced pokemon. Honestly sending her out like that was just mean!” She really did look upset with him. “You are going to give him a proper battle, stop goofing off. What has gotten into you?” Ok scratch upset she was disappointed in him.
Dante felt a little bad at her words, then he wondered when he actually started to care about what she thought of him, not many people could make him feel bad like that. He could probably count the amount off with his hand. Sighing Dante wondered how he managed to get himself in a situation like this again. He then wondered what happened to his excitement for gym battles. He used to go through such a length to get into one. Maybe he forgot how exciting they were? Bah, he was getting sick of this sort of identity crisis that he was going through at the moment. “Fine whatever, let’s have a real battle.”
At his comment though the wrestler looked a little embarrised shaking his head a bit. “Ah well, that is a bit of a problem. Machop here is my only pokemon.”
“Great.” Dante muttered. “Just, just great.”

It was hard not to see Mike's reaction concerning the news of Kasiya's Raichu, and Keegan sighed, slowly clenching and unclenching his fist, partially to test his mangled fingers and partially to keep his own anger in check, yet again. "Yeah, I know what you mean," he said, shaking his head. He turned to leave the room, but Mike had started speaking again, at least to him, this time. He looked back at his old friend, managing a weak, but genuine smile. "Yeah, I know, buddy. I know. Same goes to you." He smirked at the last comment as he stepped out into the hall, deciding not to make eye contact with the two girls he knew were lurking.
"He's all yours," he said over his shoulder to Kasiya, the hurt apparent in his tone even though he tried to mask it. He was sure she'd been eagerly awaiting his return so that she could tear a strip off him for telling Mike about Shocker and Jae, but he honestly didn't care right now. He was tired, and hurt, and still angry, and right now, he really had no idea what he was going to do now. He walked down the hall and pushed open the doors to the waiting room where he knew Sasha, Winona and Kilik were likely still waiting. He ignored the lot of them and continued walking until he was outside of the hospital, and the moment he was at the minimum clearance for smokers he lit one up. Now what? he thought, stopping and looking back at the hospital.
He was more or less where he was days ago, after the Slateport incident, but before his unwilling trip to Sinnoh. He thought of the Premier Ball in his pocket and he took it out, turning it over in his fingers. He recalled the images of the powerful Dragon-type Kasiya had shown them with her PokeDex, and he smiled at the thought. Now what fool thought it a good idea to give me a dragon? he thought, tossing the white sphere up and down a few times before pocketing it again. ===== Miharu allowed herself to smile a bit, as she rather liked this Pokemon. She liked her Starmie just a little bit more, however, and she really wanted to win this battle. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Lee, watching intently, and she also partially wanted to win in order to impress him. A small blush appeared on her cheeks but she willed it away and pointed at the Empoleon. "Thunderbolt," she called. "Do it, Starrie!"
The Bubblebeam sprayed up against the Starmie's body, doing little damage but managing to reduce the strange Pokemon's speed. The Starmie's red core gem then began to flash with a bright yellow energy and soon a bright bolt of electricity had been launched across the field toward the Emperor Pokemon.

It was difficult not to eavesdrop in on Mike and Keegan's conversation, as both Kasiya and Flannery wanted to make sure the two boys weren't going to snap and start brawling right there in the ICU. For a moment, things seemed intense but then their voices dropped off a bit, and as she heard Keegan reveal to Mike what he knew about Jaeshan's accident and Mai's stealing of Shocker, she shrunk back, leaning against the wall. She'd been trying to keep those things to herself, at least until all the stress levels had decreased, but Keegan was really good at messing things like that up. She could feel Flannery's eyes on her and she looked up at the older girl, her blue eyes narrowed. "Don't say it," she said, sighing. "I'm already going to get an earful from Mike, I know it."
"I wasn't going to say anything," Flannery replied with a shrug, though she was definitely a little more worried about the blonde than before. It also would have been nice to know that Kasiya had been without one of her strongest Pokemon for such an important mission. She was about to say something else when Keegan stepped out into the hall, but judging by the way he was refusing to look at either of them, he wasn't going to stick around. Normally, she would have chased him down to try and talk to him, but that didn't seem like a smart idea, kind of like taking a water pistol to a burning building. He had the right idea, though, as Flannery wanted to get out of here, too. She didn't want to stick around to eavesdrop on what Mike and Kasiya might talk about. She put a hand on the blonde's shoulder. "Look, if you need anything, you can call me, okay?" She offered a weak smile before turning and leaving, as well, only unlike Keegan, she did stop to say her goodbyes to the rest of her friends and acquaintances.
Kasiya nodded and watched as Flannery left as well, feeling quite bad about how everything had gone down. She hadn't planned for any of this at all. Mike had always been there for her, so why hadn't she told him all of this? Well, she was trying to spare him the stress, as he already had an overheaping plate, but now she couldn't help but worry that he'd be angry with her for not telling him.
She took a deep breath and peeked around the door frame before offering a small wave. "Hey, it's me again," she said, now inching into the room and looking around. "Keegan and Flannery have left," she added, not entirely sure what to say now.

With everything that had just happened in the past thirty minutes, seeing Kasiya all but tip toe her way into the room brought the biggest smile to Mike's face. He only hummed a soft chuckle in reply as she updated him of the situation.
She's worried you're mad at her.
"I know." he whispered in reply. "Kassie." Mike said, pulling himself up. "I don't really think I'm really in a position to get mad at someone for keeping secrets right now." Her shameful puppy-dog look kept the smile on his face growing. "I know why you didn't tell me, so don't even worry about it, okay? However, If you want to help me out," he patted the side of the bed. "I may be more machine now than man, but I would love to have some pleasant company right now." Mike couldn't help but to keep smiling as he locked eyes with her. Beautifully blue, with the freckles on her cheeks accented by her pale skin. Her hair was surprisingly well-kept. A ghost commented that it was most likely Sasha's doing. "You look really nice." Mike said softly, his voice hummed as he spoke. "You gotta teach me how you do that." he looked down at his bare chest, pink scars like abstract tiger stripes.

There was something very infectious about the way Mike smiled at her as she reentered the room, and it didn't take more than a second for Kasiya to realize that this was the smile she'd come to know and love. What made it all the more special was that she hadn't seen him smile like that in what seemed like a very long time, and for a moment, it was enough to temporarily block out all of the recent scary things that had happened. She nodded and didn't need to be asked twice as she made her way over, ecstatically happy and yet still in mild disbelief that this was even happening. She never would have thought that she'd be the one at Mike's beside.
She blushed a little at the compliment, and shrugged a bit sheepishly. "Oh, well, that was all Sasha," she admitted. "She's pretty talented with a brush. I was looking pretty gross after coming out of... that place." She studied Mike's scars, and smiled. "What's that they say about scars? That they give you character or something like that?" Not that he needed any more, as he was already quite a character to her, and she was just fine with that.
"So, how are you feeling?" she asked, but then realized it was probably a very stupid question to ask, considering all the machinery he was currently hooked up to and the hopefully generous amount of painkillers he'd been given. "I mean, besides the obvious pain and exhaustion and all that."

Mike grinned at Kasiya's query. "Well, my skeleton is angry at me with how much it creaks and groans when I move, but to be honest, I don't blame it." He raised his left arm, eyeing the two metal needles plugging into his arm that lead back to a giant machine behind him. "I've got more hot flashes than a book club. And I'm pretty sure what I'm hooked into is on loan from a Pokemon Center. So before you ask, yes, from now on you can in fact call my hospital visits 'going to the vet'." He flashed an pseudo-accusatory look at Kasiya, knowing full well she wasn't thinking anything like that. He shifted in place, grimacing slightly as his body protested even the smallest movement.
"I'm pretty busted up on pretty much every front, yeah." Mike said, his smile receding slightly as his mind played back some of the more significant events. "This past week has easily been some the worst possible combination of things to ever happen to me and I'm not sure I will ever be the same-" he paused and took another look at the tubes from his arms, then around the room at the assorted phantoms that mulled about. "It's going to take a bit of getting used to," he looked back at Kasiya. "But it's not all bad, ya know?" Mike flashed a knowing grin.
His hand glided over the top of the covers, finding hers and gently interlocking their fingers. "Sorry if I'm a little warm." He looked at the girl smiling at him and couldn't help find it a bit contagious.
Oh yeah. There have been far worse things.
