Honestly, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do; part of her wanted to disobey, be stubborn about it, but the other part of her wanted to do what their professor had instructed them to do - despite the vagueness of it. Find it...? Answers? What answers? Were they even given a question before they were sent to this crazy fieldtrip? Besides, there was another pressing question stemming from Red's instructions.
"PROFESSOR, WE DON'T KNOW THE WAY HOME!" She yelled, hoping to be heard; the reason why they hadn't ran before - when the nets started to fall - was because they couldn't. They were very much trapped on this narrow, rocky road, with no way to run even if they decided to, "And what answers? Professor Red!" She felt so bad for asking when everyone else seemed so bent on staying, but... She couldn't help feeling like they were letting Red's sacrafice go to waste! There might be an alternative, but...
Before she could say anymore, she felt something fling her to the side - a shockwave from Caelius. She yelped in surprise, caught off-guard. By the time she landed, her body felt too heavy to move and she could only watch as a few familiar faces approached the hunter leader...

Oh s**t. Oh s**t. Oh. s**t. Did... did Boss-dude-Caelius just... did his weapon just... Before clutched Vanna to his body instinctively, far more concerned about what this could mean for the Life Hunter's partner than about himself. His entire body trembled in fear, even as his fellow Hunters took their turns attacking the behemoth that seemed like it was on its last leg (or wings, they did kill its legs, right?) he seemed hesitant. I-I d-don't wanna risk losing you, he mentally whimpered to her.
Silly Before, I am a weapon. I am to be wielded! DO NOT SHRINK AWAY FROM THIS CHALLENGE!!! Vanna roared, an image of a face hewn from metal contorted into an angry yell wavered in his mind's eye. Continue to trust me, as I trust you, she gently ordered.
He studied the wheel he held, running a gloved hand over her surface, letting Vanna's voice steel his resolve. With a deep breath and an audible gulp, Before charged at Red head-first and head-long.

It only took a few moments for the first of the students to attack. Caelius stood his ground, as they made their choices to attack him, as they took advantage of his glaring weakness. A Hunter without their weapon was a painted target. A Hunter without their weapon was fated to die.
It was difficult to tell if Mandy made the first move, or Amrita a beat after. It was even difficult to tell if the others that followed were attacking in unison, or for a second it seemed at the same time.
The Death Hunter stood his ground, and did not move.
He was gone before the first attack could successfully hit. They had assumed Caelius was stunned. They had assumed that he was disabled. Disabled did not mean, at all, incompetent.
"Don't ******** with me." He had, in those few moments, all the time he needed to prepare. In both hands were a pair of what seemed like ornamental daggers: unlike sentient weapons however, they did not glow or hum in response. The first one took a slice at Mandy, and where it touched her body began to hiss, black smoke escaping from the wound. He took a step forward, just one beat, and simply grabbed Xiu, pulling her forwards. One of the blades plunged right into her shoulder, the force of the attack nailing her to the ground. The dagger upon contact with Fear, began to crackle and hiss angrily, the effect was pure agony. It would corrode anything Fear-based it touched.
Big mistake for anyone who turned to look at Xiu, he had already grabbed something else through his cloak in his free hand, what looked like a harmless glass bottle filled with a clear liquid. Droplets splashed everywhere, speckling all the close ranged attackers, before he threw the entire half-empty thing and its contents straight at Mot. The liquid hissed upon contact with Fear, bubbling skin into angry red welts.
Caelius still had one dagger left, and he raised it to eye level. "Anyone else want to play?" He made a move to push past Harrison and staggered just briefly, disoriented. It was hard to tell how much of a front he was actually putting up. Rescue Xiu - Xiu is paralyzed by the dagger, what is worse is it is draining her fear in the most agonizing way possible: it feels like her body is being pummeled by torrents of electricity. - Anyone who touches the dagger will feel the same effect - To rescue Xiu, roll a 100-sided dice. If you roll 90 or higher it is successful, anyone who wants to can roll but they take - 10 HP for EACH TRY they attempt. Anyone can try as many times as they want. Damage Effects - Jet is temporarily blinded from the attack/ the vial, the effect burning his eyes and skin. He can still attack through guidance, but it will take time for him to recover... or someone who is experienced in Fear healing. - Everyone else who attacked Caelius (close range only) was in range of the ??? liquid. They take -3 damage.

Lattice hissed softly when she came in contact with the some of the liquid. It was painful. It was annoying. It was ...
Her attention flicked toward Xiu and her expression went to dismay. That didn't look good at all! She moved to help her friend and upon contact a jolt of pain wandered up and eventually on through her. Lattice's eyes widened a great deal behind her mask and suddenly she just crumpled. She could have sworn she heard something shatter somewhere but she couldn't quite figure out what it was. Either way she tried to help.
She'd do it again, too. She tried to regain her strength to get back up and make a new attempt at helping Xiu unless someone does it first.

Xiu didn't deserve this. Out of all the unfortunate bystanders, Caelius had to grab Xiu. The reaper moved before he thought, dodge-rolling into the scene with a vicious urge rippling through him. Xiu's screams ran through his ears, blinding all other sound, each breath and step he took felt like an eternity before he reached Xiu.
Vaith didn't have time to be gentle about taking the dagger form her shoulder. The movement was swift and painful, Vaith took a sharp breath. The dagger still laid in his hand. He wasn't sure what to do with it. He couldnt leave it for the hunter to get back but it was like poison to the touch, Vaith's hand horribly injured. His hand festered and burned like a boiling pot of black smoke and fear, as the dagger laid in his hands with a vengeance.
He held Xiu to the side, dragging her half-seated posture away from the scene, slightly to the side. A sharp hiss came from Vaith, his teeth gritting down-- It seemed as if he was biting his lip from the way blood trailed down his chin. He finally let go of the dagger on the side, groaning with pain.

Xiu never knew that anything could hurt so much.
Never before had she experienced this kind of pain. When she felt Caelius grab her, she had braced herself for a strike, but she had never expected to feel the kind of pain that she did. She emitted a startled gasp as the dagger was suddenly plunged into her shoulder, but there was something about this particular blade that told her it wasn't just any other weapon. She could hear the crackling noises and the hissing, but more then anything, she could feel it. There was no slow or gradual build-up--the pain was immediate and unbearably agonizing as it immediately began to travel through her.
Xiu wasn't able to control herself: she screamed at the top of her lungs over and over again. She writhed where she lay, her jerking movements the result of the electrifying pain that was steadily spreading through her. The baku was not at all aware of what was going around her anymore--her mind was far too focused on the pain, on the fact that all she could hear was her own voice and the crackling noises from the dagger that filled the very brief silence every time she took a breath. She would have to thank and apologize to poor Lattice later, but as she was right now, Xiu didn't even know that her friend had attempted to save her.
A particularly violent scream tore from her throat when it felt like the dagger suddenly began to move, but it wasn't until a few moments after that she realized that someone had pulled the blade out of her shoulder.
As the electrifying sensation began to fade, Xiu started sobbing, probably more in relief than anything else. She was just a fifteen year old ghoul, a ghoul who thought that she was just going on a simple field trip with her classmates. Never had she imagined for this to happen--for them to be attacked by hunters, for Red to turn into that creature, or for her to go through the most painful experience she could remember. Though she was still in terrible pain from the wound on her shoulder, it felt like nothing compared to the torrents of pain that she had experienced only a moment ago.
Her sobbing began to slow, but she continued to gasp for breaths, staring up at Vaith almost blankly before she struggled--and failed--to try pushing herself up into a sitting position. They needed to get out of here, they needed to move away from Caelius.
She didn't want to go through that again.

Mot thought he heard Hel call him, and his attention diverted from Caelius. It was then that Hell broke loose. His head turned at the commotion, only to see a bottle come flying at his face. He had no time to react. The bottle shattered on his face, its contents sizzling and burning his eyes and flesh. The scream that ripped from Mot's mouth was blood curdling and riddled with intense agony. His weapon was dropped, his hands hovering over his face, afraid to touch it lest his hands suffer the same fate. Mot crumpled to the ground, crying out in pain. He couldn't see.He couldn't see anything. Everything was black. His eyes felt like they were burning or melting, his skin felt as if holes were being burned into the flesh. "XIU!" Amrita shrieked, stumbling back from the Hunters to watch in pure horror as her friend was practically nailed to the ground. She had turned to look at the ghoul, and so the liquid that splattered hit her back, bubbling and eating away at her skin. With a hiss in pain she grabbed her shoulder, the distraction apparently just long enough for Vaith to save Xiu.
Oh thank Jack.
But Mot was burned, the ghost ghoul was worse for wear...their attempts to end the apparent Leader of the Humans were backfiring left and right. This was...this was bad.
"GET THEM OUT OF HERE!" The Vetala hissed at the uninjured students closer to the wounded ones, her arm flying out to point away from the crazy stumbling man. If she could do nothing more here, she could at least give them a chance to get the others to safety. Again, Roch, sorry. So sorry.
"Drop dead." She growled out, turning slowly to face Caelius, keeping her body firmly planted between them and her friends. Not that she expected the Hunter-Human to go after them again, it was just...merely a precaution. Despite her attempted bravery, and despite the adversary seeming rather weak, she couldn't stop shaking, no matter how hard she tried; she clenched her fists, to at least try and hide it.

Flying Red, not flying Red, another shockwave that looked like it hurt, and a bat s**t crazy hunter pulling weapons from his pockets as if it were a magical endless sack.
Colette was sick of this.
MonsterthingRed wanted that man dead in the first place. If it came down to only one of the two being able to live, why should they have to destroy Red? The Reaper didn't think so.

Hel kept looking around this way and that, biting her lip as her brows furrowed. Somewhere, somewhere, he had to be around here somewhere, and please, please do not say it was under one of Red’s massive claws—
A horrorifed expression suddenly crossed Hel’s face as she caught sight of the head reaper plunging a dagger into Xiu, and then throw a vial somewhere after that. She was going to rush to Xiu, to try and help, but others had gotten to her first…and as bad as it might have sounded, Xiu’s plight had taken a back seat to what had filled Hel’s ears next.
A blood curdling scream that made her skin crawl and the hair on the back of her neck stand up straight. A familiar scream…
The reaper bolted then, shoving anyone or anything that was in her path was she made her way across the battle field to where she had heard that horrifying sound. Well…she had found him, and not the way she had wanted to, but she did. Hel rushed the cowboil reaper once she locked her sights on him, skidding to her knees beside him. “Mot!” She cried, her hands shooting out to grasp his shoulders as she looked him over. Something…that vial…The valkyrie immediately tugged at her apron, pulling it off as she held it up to the boil’s face. “Mot, here, use this!” She urged worriedly. She wasn’t sure if it’d really help but…she had to…do what she could.

((Odd, Willow dodged))
Willow looked at Demi, "Yeah I'm fine." She said her tail flickered as she looked up towards Red. Her ears flattened at Red's pain. "RED, The Boogymen, Bul told them about the hunters when we ended up back at the start!" She called towards their professor. "Please hold on!"
She was looking back at Demi before glancing around the group. "Is there anything we could do to help her?" The tiger seemed a bit concerned with Red, she paused looking towards the Hunters, she'd like to go after them but she didn't feel like she could. "If only we could beat them..."
She twitched thinking, if they got into to trouble. "Ugh.... those cages." She muttered under her breath trying to get that image out of her head. "Demi remind me to strangle the next weird faced creature we run into before it can give us those strange dreams.

Mot trembled and shuddered, trying his best not to cry out anymore, but it was difficult. He heard Hel skid and kneel in front of him. But that's all. He heard her, but he couldn't see her. Still, it was now he realized he hadn't heard or seen her much most of the battle. It was good to know she was okay.
The hands on his shoulders let him know she was there. He gritted his teeth, his head turning up as if trying to look at Hel. He assumed it might be her face, but how was he to know.
"Use what?" Mot asked with a hoarse voice, shaking hands trying to grab at something. He'd felt the cloth tickle his burns, and finally held the apron to his face. He at least could do that now. "Hel.. I can't see anything.." Mot stammered worriedly. "I can't use my gun like this.."

Lizzy had been pretty much useless as she witnessed Xiu being taken hostage, and Mot's pained scream broke her heart - her body still refused to move... Stupid shockwave... Or maybe... Was it fear?
"XIU, MOT!" She screamed, pushing herself off the ground, running towards the small group that had formed around the hunter. Seeing how both injured parties had been taken care of, she decided to stand beside Amrita, taking her shaking hand in her own. She was also pulling her back a bit, wondering what other dirty tricks the man might have.
She wished she had an epic staff. Then she could slam it on tge ground and yell "You shall not pass!"
