Tilting his head slightly, Kiro continued watching the creatures. He was interested in them, the same way as he was always interested in things he didn't know about. It was a scholarly curiosity, but it was quickly becoming a personal one. He twitched his ears lightly as he watched on.
"It's... Delta and Luc right?" He paused, before continuing curiously. "What kind of fluff and feathers are they?"

"Delta's a peafowl and gemsbok." Sy sipped at her water as she watched her daughter try to toy with Luc. After her behavior the night she had gotten help moving in, she had been curious and prodded her daughter about how she felt about the Aerandir. It had become evident to her that she was upset with Luc for some reason, but with Delta, even her mother wasn't always sure what annoyed her so.
Delta made a pathetic little sound as he started to poke at her, as if his little pecks were hurting her (although this was clearly not the case). Gods, didn't he understand? u_u This would be much easier if she could talk, but alas she could not, and so acting sulky was the best she could do.

Nyxa smiled at Kiro's curiosity. "Luc is a cockerel and panther." She beamed at her baby, her first male ward, and chuckled. He was a treasure, a real charmer, and an endless fountain of entertainment for herself and Julian.
If he could roll his eyes he would have. Luc really wasn't sure what was going on, but nonetheless he curled himself around her larger body and chirped into the half-hidden ear, softly grooming the feathers of her neck and shoulders. Lifting a large paw, he wrapped a forearm around the top of her, purring softly against her neck.

Kiro nodded, smiling, as his questions were answered. The longer he watched the Aerandir, the more he realised he wanted something to do here. And he was sure he'd read that book from back to front several times. Not that it wasn't a good book, it was great. He just felt like he was getting mentally lazy. And that worried him.
He didn't actually say anything, but his smile split a little wider as Luc 'made his move' as it were on Delta. She seemed quite high and mighty, Kiro had noticed, and he wondered if she was going to accept being cuddled up to like that.

Gulping down the last of her water, she walked towards the kitchen to put away her glass when she noticed her package still on Aly's doorstep out of the corner of her eye. Pausing to look at it, she walked into the kitchen and set her glass in the sink. He hadn't even seen it yet. Maybe... maybe it would be too much? Maybe he had seen it and didn't want it? As she walked back out of the kitchen, she started to worry "too much" as she was prone to do.
Delta's pouty attitude melted away as he cuddled her, purring and preening her pretty blue feathers. ^__^ This was the life. She could easily imagine herself as some princess Aerandir now, being attended to by a valient warrior. Snuggling into him contentedly, she basked in the attention and affection. Osusuki... HA! Bet he didn't get THIS treatment!

Stretching, Nyxa tsked under her breath as she watched the duo. Luc was being shiesty and she knew it, but she was far too entertained to ruin his fun.
Mm, yeah. All girls needed was a little snuggle and a little preening before they melted, and Delta was proof of that. Luc was slightly amused at how easy it was to get back on her good side, and it was nice to have a pretty girl around. He hadn't seen Marli or Iniko in ages, so his attention was easily swayed by the newest girl on the block. Whuffing quietly, Luc splayed a wing lazily over her back and continued his actions, grooming under her chin with glee.

Kiro continued smiling slightly, watching the two Aerandir together. They were pretty sweet together, he decided. He appeared thoughtful for a second, before standing. He had suddenly had an idea for a 'project'. And he needed something to keep himself occupied. And when he got an idea, it would tend to float away if he didn't start right away.
He smiled slightly, catching himself before a brief bow, instead tilting his head forward lightly, his blonde bangs falling forward as he did so. "I have to go do something. I'm sorry." He nodded a farewell to Nyxa and Sy before turning and making off down the corridor.

She just blinked as she watched Kiro duck out and was suddenly reminded of her spotty hair. They had just dropped by for a walk to get out Delta's energy before Sy's shower. An energetic Aerandir who despised water and her shower never mixed well, because Delta would wail at her the. entire. time.
"Come on Delta, we need to go," she projected her voice towards her daughter.
Delta stirred slightly under Luc, but didn't budge. She enjoyed Luc and the simple pleasure of his company admiring her, so she decided to play a battle of wills with her owner. Of course, the fact that Sy was at least ten times her size didn't factor into her mind.
"DELTA." Delta looked at Luc with sad little beady eyes, as if she were indeed very sorry to go, but she scrambled to her hooves. With that voice she knew her mother would probably grab her if she didn't move quickly. Nuzzling his neck, she was still hesitant.
Syrenrei cleared her throat, and the reluctant Aerandir walked towards her mother slowly, glaring at her the entire time. This clearly didn't bother Sy as she looked towards Nyxa.
"I'm sorry, I really need to clean up and fix some dinner. We'll have to arrange some time for them to get together." She smiled as she picked up her peevish daughter and left the centre, worrying about the present she left Aly and what she would make dinner at the same time. Delta was preoccupied with trying to keep her mother's grasp from ruffling too many feathers.

Nyxa waved to the departing folks and moved to the phone, needing to make a few phonecalls back to the mainland. Once finished, she headed back home, Luc in tow.
Slightly peeved at Syrenrei for taking away his newest interest, Luc squawked loudly at their departure before moving to twine himself around Nyxa as she made her phone calls, moping along behind her as she led the way home.

She had just come out of the shower and Delta had pestered her to return to the centre. Sy was willing in hopes to run into Aly, but Delta wanted none of the ebil man- she was hoping for attention and affection from fellow Aerandirs for her beauty. Ah, to be young and have the world revolve around you.
Sy, meanwhile, was wringing out her hair as she walked in, leaving a small trail of water. In order to keep herself cool she wore a white one-piece bathing suit with a wrap around her waist. Her normal clothes would have taken forever to dry and be much, much hotter.

Sitting in the main area seemed to be becoming a habit of Kiro's lately, and he glanced up as Sy and Delta came in. The book (that seemed to be going everywhere with him lately as well) was open at - that's right - the fish section.
He closed the book quickly and raised a hand in greeting. "Hey Sy."

"Hey Kiro," she replied, smiling warmly. Taking out a chair at his table and sitting down, she pushed her hair behind the chair's back and relaxed a little. Delta looked irked for a moment and then jump-fluttered a couple times until Syrenrei picked her up and placed her on her lap. Delta had deemed Sy's lap much more comfortable and worthy of her prescence than the dirty floor.
Now was the time to be sneaky, and subtle. "Have you seen Alyosha?" she suddenly blurted out. No, no! Quick recovery time! "... uh, for Delta, of course."
Delta started in her lap, with a confused squawk. HER? Why would SHE look for that godforsaken pain in the a**? Bah! Glaring at Syrenrei she protested for a moment before preening herself angrily.

Kiro blinked broadly at the 'outburst', his ears twitching a few times and betraying his confusion, before shaking his head. "No, I've not seen him in a few days." He paused. "I wanted to talk to him too." He glanced at the book for a moment, before looking up again with a smile.
"How're you today anyway? You seemed a little... off, yesterday?"

"Oh," she replied quietly, staring at the table a moment as if lost in thought. Maybe... maybe he needed to get away from her? After all, since the bath he hadn't been seen on the island... NO! No, don't think like that! Scolding herself mentally she smiled for Kiro. "I'm fine, thank you. I was just... tired yesterday. I had just gotten home from work."
Delta peeked her head above the table as she tried to get solid footing with her hooves on Sy's lap to no avail. She didn't really like being left out of the conversation, as she figured she was the most important topic around this island (being obviously the best Aerandir specimen as she was a miracle and all). Ugh. The table looked dirty too.

He nodded in understanding as she told him she'd been tired. "And how's the house going? You two settling in okay?"
He then smiled at Delta as she peaked her head above the table. "Hey there," he offered with a smile, tilting his head a little as he did so. He then glanced towards Sy again, suddenly remembering something. "Oh, I didn't thank you for that lantern did I?" He blushed quietly, his tone apologetic. "It was lovely, thank you..."
