Lady Black Rose Dragoon Try Outlaw Star. It doesn't have the same subject matter as Kenshin, but it has that same balance of serious and hilarious. I've never seen Outlaw Star, but I have seen commercials of it when it used to come on Toonami. Ahhh, those days when I get home from school and watch Toonami before doing homework. Back then, I even set my alarm clock so I'd wake up to watch Inuyasha and Trigun. rofl Afterward I'd go back to sleep before I had to wake up again to get ready for school.

It came out at the same time as a lot of other popular anime and got buried, and Toonami only aired really popular ones.

Yeah, it was on Toonami for a while actually. @ Evil: The difference is that the plot in the first anime differs from the manga. The author of the manga actually wanted the anime to be different so that she could have time to develop the characters as far as the manga goes. Stuff that are different are the creation of the homunculi, Wrath is a kid, Sloth is female, etc. Brotherhood is the remake where it's based directly from the manga.

Evilweirdo 0 Sounds like Brotherhood's the one for me. The first anime is pretty good despite it being different from the manga. You can give that a try as well. 3nodding Some of the characters still have the same VA from the first anime, though Alphonse got a different VA since Aaron Dismuke (VA for Alphonse Elric in first anime) reached puberty. Though I thought it was funny to see my sister's reaction when she heard Ling's dubbed voice. rofl

He's voiced by the guy who did Death the Kid from Soul Eater. I do like Ling as a character too. Dubs don't bother me too much actually. Before I heard his voice, me and my sister had imagined him having some sort of Asian accent.
Also, Aaron Dismuke voices the young Hohenheim in Brotherhood.
To be honest, I couldn't get used to Regal's voice in Symphonia...due to the fact that he was voiced by Crispin Freeman....Every time I hear him speak, I think of Alucard from Hellsing. xd

It's like very time I hear Crispin Freeman's voice, Alucard is always the first that pops into my head. I mean, would you imagine any other character laugh like this? xd With my sister, Vash would be the first that pops into her head every time she hears Johnny Young Bosch's voice.

I COULD'VE KNOWN GENE AND JIM SO MUCH SOONER! Also to get people watching it: It has a gun that can explode you from the inside, an awesome hacker kid, a female samurai that can cut a double decker space bus in half WITH A WOODEN SWORD, and a super strong alien cat chick. Oh, and a ship that basically uses a naked android chick as the key to turn it on. And Fred Luo. It has Fred Luo, and that makes everything funnier.

Back then, Toonami had shown: Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, Ronin Warriors, Tenchi Muyo, Blue Submarine # 6, Outlaw Star, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Big O, Hamtaro, Zatch Bell, Astro Boy, One Piece, Naruto, Rave Master, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, the list goes on.
They even once did a month of Miyazaki. Yu Yu Hakusho even once came on Adult Swim, though for me...I started watching it when it came on Toonami. That anime was the start of my sister's anime/video game crushes.
