Annie looked at Ako exasperated and muttered, "I'd rather come out in just my underwear... Actually come to think of it a lot of female superheroes fight scantly clothed... Emma Frost, Yukko from Gurren Lagann, Violet... anyways, there are a lot of them."

The other side of the phone in Garret's hand finally responds. There are a number of minute beeps and clicks, almost like a 56k modem dialing into it's ISP. Finally a voice comes from the other side. It is a pleasant English woman's voice, "ID confirmation required. Please answer the following security question: What is Gidget's real name?"

Garret chuckled at Ako, and when the phone started maiing noises he started to pay attention to it. "Hey guys.." He put it on speaker and when the speaker asked him a quastion he stuttered a moment. "Uhhhmm... Agatha." He spoke up for the reciever.

"Hey, no one has to even know you have powers, you all look normal. I on the other hand, as soon as they see me, I'm out. And not just the wings.. the whole being dead and all...." She let out a small laugh, then paused. "We can talk all we want, but maybe we should do it, not inside a burning building...."

"Sounds good," said Annie smiling. She put an arm around Tansy's shoulder. She glanced up to Garret, "Tell Gidget to get me something cute or cool superhero-y to wear! It's going to be my coming out party today."
Laughing she said, "Maybe we should have cool aliases to go by too. If we're going to out ourselves we should get some cool names to go with it too. There's got to be some advantage to this situation-cool superhero names and costumes would totally make it better."
Annie knew she was rambling, but coming out terrified her, even if she knew that it would be the best thing for her at least. The anxiety of hiding would be gone... but how would others accept the fact that there were people capable of doing the things her and her friends could do. She could convert any liquid to hydrochloric acid! That at least did not seem like something that could be used for the powers of good... she bit her lip as she felt Tansy scoop her up.

There is a quick silence, then the pleasant voice returns, "Confirmed, you are no online." There is another break in the reception and this time a man's voice chimes through. His accent is slight, but definitely middle eastern.
"Garret, my name is Nayan Suresh. Shane told me that you would be calling and that you can be trusted. What I need you to do is confirm what caused the fire at that building. Also, to keep open line communications to a minimum, I am switching your phone into key mode. Press the enter button once to open your channel and again to close it, like a hand radio. Please go now, time is not with us." There is a squelch and the voice is cut off.

Tansy laughed softly as she moved into the back alley behind the burning building. She blinked a few times and looked at the phone. "He wants us to go back in there?!" She scoffed. "I've already signed enough feather's thank you, but if someone's going back in it might as well be me. At least I can fly out, and or heal myself if things get to bad." She set Annie down down that they were safe. "I don't think I'll get a choice in what they call me. Wither I like it or not they are going to call me 'An Angel' or some rubbish like that."

Lilith smiled. "That would be great. I mean, I'm not really the handy type." She tilted her head to the side somewhat. "I don't think we've introduced ourselves." She held out her bad hand. "I'm Lilith."

Annie set the box down with the cats in it. Frowning, Annie spoke up, "The problem is you can't fly out if there is no route of escape. The only reason you were able to reach the basement was because I made a route to get into the basement."
Frowning she continued, "I think we'd have better luck if we just interviewed the people who were there. We know this isn't a normal fire. And I think we could attract the culprit just by revealing that he isn't the only one with powers. However, if you really plan on going back in Tansy, take me with you. You can fly us out if it gets too bad and I can create an escape route."

Gray deliberated on whether to shake her hand or not... but decided life was nothing minus companionship. He shook her hand delicately, like it was fragile. Or like he was scared his hand was going to implode. "I'm, uh, Grayone... but you can call me Gray." Her hand felt burning hot compared to his.
He took a step in the other direction. "Uh, which way's your house? I'm don't exactly know my way around..." (That's better.)

Lilith smiled brightly. "It's this way." She nodded her head somewhat as she scooted along on her skateboard. She sighed softly as she moved along in the rain and felt a shiver run down her spine. She would need the help, and it was nice to talk to someone. She had blocked out most of the world after her sister died.... Maybe it was time she moved on.

Lev stopped moving, a line drive being thrown in the game on t.v., the crowd cheering. Leviathan heard none of this though, his fingers still coiled nail deep in wire and hardware. The box of junk now resembled a strikingly smooth rectangular contraption, small enough to wear as a backpack. Hell, it even had straps to wear like a backpack!
Leviathan fidgeted, then stood, the lights in the room instantly growing brighter, along with most of the lights outside. He stepped across to his fridge and pulled it open with a grunt, a troll looking for something to gobble. Lev picked at the contents of the barren tundra that was his refrigerator, until his hand fell upon a chocolate milk carton.
Lev lifted it straight from the carton, gulping heavy and solid, stopping only until the entire container was empty.
"Hmm.. Guess'a need more food.." He absentmindedly thought aloud, slinging the contraption-backpack up from it's straps. With no wasted breath Lev hefted it on like a kind of back- gear and began towards the door.
Lev froze for the second time that day, thinking hard. Something wasn't right.
He needed to disappear no doubt. "On the road again.." Lev smiled, his teeth almost serpentine in his grin. He began out the door, letting the cool air lay over him and wash away any of his fears.
Lev was heading for the center of town.

Standing under a black umbrella, was a pretty woman in what looked to be her early to mid twenties, calmly smoking a cigarette. "Two weeks," she muttered under her breath, her blue eyes watching the people go by. Her fiancee- no ex-fiancee was right now having a romantic lunch with the woman he had left Daisy Sun for in a fancy restaurant downtown about three blocks from where she was standing.
She had stopped at one of the bars to get a drink on her day off... it would have irked her that while the Dashworth building was burning her co-anchor a bimbo with a huge chest was getting the news of the morning, but she had gotten to report on the incident with Charles Ray getting wounded and she had a feeling something far more interesting than a burning building was about to come her way.
Daisy smiled brushing her blonde hair out off her shoulder as she spotted a grumpy looking man carrying a backpack with a wicked grin. That was a man who looked like he knew a good story: and a good story is what she wanted.
Closing the umbrella she stepped in front of the man and smiled a small smile as she took a drag from her cigarette, as she looked up at him, "Hello... this might sound really odd but I'm bored and drinking alone this early in the bars is just depressing, so I've been people watching for almost an hour and you seem like an interesting person so I thought I should introduce myself." She held out a hand, "I am Daisy Sun."
