Rakuna blinked at how soft Akihito's voice had gotten. "Well, yeah. And you're still family, too. You and mom are the only two from my family who bother with me anymore. And since mom is always out and about...you're the closest thing I got to a big brother..." He said, his voice sad.

Akihito stopped struggling as he tried not to cry. "I'm sorry." Akihito said softly.

Rakuna moved to stand up, but a sudden pained expression came to his face and he fell to ground with a groan. "U-Unngh..." With both hands, he clutched his head.

"I'm fine...I'm fine..." Rakuna said shakily, removing his hands. The palms were covered in blood, but where he had had them pressed on his head, two brand new ears stood. "O-ow! Man, I swear it hurts worse each time..."

"I'm starting to turn back. But...it feels like another upgrade. Depending on how we live of life, our beast selves change and adapt in accordance with it. That's why, even though both my dad and I are wolves, we don't look exactly the same." Rakuna explained and he slowly stood to his feet.

"Yeah, it really is now that I think about it..." Rakuna said with a whinsical smile.
Akihito had stalked out the room and sat on the couch, burying his face in his hands. He then went through his mind to sort out the past few days and re-plan his future.

Rakuna gave a bitter chuckle. "Sorry. I'm glad you care so much for much. Right now, though, I'm more worried about someone 'else'..." He eyes wandered towards the living room where Akihito was. "If only I knew an alternative path that'll make him happy...he's done so much for me..."
