Edith had taken off, her speed had been so convenient that she had completely forgotten about a car, besides, a car hindered her ability to maneuver properly without totaling(sp) someone or blowing their damned car up. She was almost at the small house, she could almost see it, she hoped that Kyley was alright. Even if the kid was only four and she had not paid much attention to her because of her obsession with finding her brother, she still cared about the kid as though she were her own.
Finally she reached the house, the thought of someone possibly being in there besides her Goddaughter never occured to her, nor that the young four-year-old likely would not understand a phone's functions and was put up to it. Nope, none of it registered, and Eden came in as though she were just walking into her own home. However, she quickly found out that this was no home, this was a complete and total set-up.
A barrage of bullets were fired at her, what kind of rounds had yet to be seen by the vampiress, but her fighting mode instantly kicked in the moment she heard gun fire. She herself was unarmed, all she had was her dagger which she had managed to slip into the boots Tokeru had given her. Her gut instinct and fighter mode both screamed for her to drop to the ground and so she did exactly that.

Edith did not stop or hover as she hit the ground, she maintained her momentum, knowing full well that if she stopped that she was an easier target. Actually, being a vampire was very useful, it gave you the special effects from the movies in actual life so you could do whoop-a** things and look totally awesome at the exact same time. Her chosen movie stunt was actually do-able in actuality but for the little kick off she added at the end. She rolled once then she kicked off from the ground to fly over top of the people firing at her. As she flew through the air, her ruby red eyes scanned her targets and took note that they were of the same race as she was, there were twelve of them, and they were firing UV bullets.
Great... This was going to be a little more precise than she usually was when fighting. This meant that she was actually going to have to aim for heads as opposed to almost any body part available to her. She wasted absolutely no time at all, landing her jump with surprising softness and near-silence. She was able to decapitate two of twelve vampires, leaving ten standing in her way.
She wanted to know where her Goddaughter was, if Kyley was safe, but right now she could not do that, she could not let her questions distract her. Edith could not let them know that she was wondering these things. She could not let them know that she was so bothered by this. No, she could only let them know that they had screwed with the wrong vampiress and that she was a cold-blooded, cold-hearted killer who spared no one.

Edith's instantaneous adrenaline rush had kicked in the moment she had heard the bullets firing off, whizzing toward her and she had not even noticed that she had in fact been hit by some. Her flesh was searing, yet she did not notice, she was frying up and all she noticed was her enemies and how they were in her damned way. "Get outta the way," she said with a growl/grunt of aggressive annoyance, "or you're going to see the light very soon."
When her enemies responded with further gunfire, her killer instinct was triggered on immediately at the sound. She gracefully dodged most of the bullets with her amazing speed, but she took some in her shoulders, arms, and legs while Tokeru's shock-absorbant, flame-resistant armor assisted in keeping her chest safe from everything. And once she was in range of them, it was all over, one by one they fell, her hand plunging through their necks, snapping the spine that connected the head to the shoulders with merely her brute strength.
Unlike in movies though, the impact of the bones was actually hurting her, and when she shattered their necks, shards and fragments of broken bone sliced her knuckles and hands. Her hands were a bloody mess, making it impossible to tell which blood actually belonged to her and which to the vampire's. Even a lycan would not be able to tell as the two scents of blood became one, bonding together.
Now her adrenaline rush faded as her threat was neutralized, now she was feeling the pain wracking her body, burning her flesh. She needed to get the bullets out before they burnt her to the core. The ones in her legs had put holes through her shins, agonizing her to no end. Edith managed to get all of the bullets out before she was disabled from walking or functioning properly but that did not mean that she was not hurt. Yeah, she would heal, but even vampire's wounds took some time to heal, her healing was anything but instant.
Her threat gone, her path cleared, she limped into the next room, finding that it was a kitchen. In the kitchen was Kyley with an old man. Hell, she instantly had a gut wrench and that only meant one thing, this old man was more than he appeared and he was a bad person. This was the reason she had come here, it was him that had brought her here. His evil that she could somehow feel through the phone. "What the ********," she said, eyes now turning a darker shade of red than ruby, "are you doing with Kyley?"

The old man turned slowly, his feebleness defying the aura of power and strength he exuded.
"Well well. You wouldn't hurt an old man would you child? Thank goodness you came here and saved us from those horrible creatures. I just was walking by the street, and then those thugs accosted me. They brought me in here and made me watch as they killed people, and threatened to kill her. But thank god you came just in time. Now, be a dear and help me sit down please, these old bones don't work as well as they used to."

"You're sure," she said, knowing that her gut was correct in it's assumption, "sure damned pushy for an old coot. I ain't the old folks person here, I came for her, if you're here, good for you, but I am leaving with this kid, end of story." She then turned to Kyley, both her voice and expression softening as she extened her blood hand toward the girl, "Kyley, sweetie, let's get you to Auntie Eden's home so you can wash up and eat."
She wanted to get Kyley away from that man ASAP and leave ASAP in case more damned vampires came to blow her to smithereens or hurt her best friend's kid. There was no way in hell she was going to let poor Kyley get hurt because she was stupid and stayed to 'help' this old man.

Draegan stood up straight, extending himself to his full 7 feet.
"I'm sorry child, but you will not be leaving anywhere. Tell me, does Tokeru still have nightmares of the slaughter of his family? Does his heart still pain him without nano-bots. Does he risk his life in every single thing he does in a suicidal attempt to rectify the sins he has done in his life? Is he happier with you?"
Draegan dropped his cane to the ground. "Yes, I know everything, Tokeru has always been of an interest to me. Did he tell you that I was the one that turned him into what he is now? Has he cursed my name to you? Has he truly accepted his long lost sister? Oh, have no fear, she is his sister, do not be afraid of that, he is in no danger, for now."

Edith literally had to crane her neck to almost ceiling height as she watched the old man rise to his seven feet of height. Pfft, and people thought she was tall, if they got one good glimpse of this man they would be making fun of her for being one of the shortest people on earth. Holy crap that old man was tall. Yep, looks were deceiving but never were gut instincts, her gut had been right all along about this old coot.
"Kyley," Edith instructed softly to the child, chancing looking away from this damned b*****d, "go outside sweetie. Auntie Eden just needs to talk with this man so you go and wait outside for her. Make sure you hide so that those icky dogs that're out there don't try to n** you." She handed Kyley her key chain for a possible comfort item, hoping the girl would listen to her.
She did and she left the room without question. Edith was tempted to beep Tokeru but she knew that he was not doing so hot with his nano-bots and whatnot. He had told her that he would need to get back to the Chapterhouse to get them replaced after the wedding but now he had some time to do it and she did not want to bother him.

Draegan smiled, exposing two massive fangs.
"So the kitten wants to fight. But, you are the kitten, where as I am the Elephant. Tell me, with your last breath, how does it feel to die."
Draegan's aura flowed and molded, wrapping itself around Edith like a tangible object. It felt thicker than molasses, thicker than anyone could move through, it felt like death.

The aura which swiftly seemed to engulf her, causing her to quickly succumb to it, seemed to irritate the exact places where she was injured. All of her burns had now intensified in how much they seared her, her cleaved hands would be shaking from the pain but the aura only made them slowly, ever so slowly, move up and down, and her headache felt like someone pounding her head like she was a drum.
"Kittens," she said, holding her head and taking a step forward, "will always land on their feet. Thus they have somewhat of an advantage, that and they like mice which is the elephant's greatest nightmare." She would have mentioned that the kitten could maneuver better but it would just be setting herself up for criticism as she could barely even lift her foot without finding her throat constricting.

Draegan laughed, an evil sound, full of dread and malice. He dissapeared and reappeared behind Edith.
"Didn't you know? Elephants are not truly afraid of mice, it is only an urban legend, just as your existence will be my child."

"Heh," she said with a forced smile, obviously weakening by the second, "just because it is a legend does not mean it is not true. I mean, look at people for example, they believe that vampires are completely fictional. They even made Underworld, where they did not tell the public of their existence. And that has been the closest that someone has ever been to suspecting that we exist. We are legend, and yet we do exist my friend. So don't fail to forget that." Yeah, being a smart-a** was not likely going to keep her alive any longer, but she had decided years ago that should she be faced with certain death, that she would show no fear and mouth off until she could no longer.
She struggled to turn and face him through his damned aura that was like walking through a river of honey, but she did manage to do it. Her burns, her cuts, and her headache all seared her and pounded her, really testing her physical limits. Testing how much pain she could actually take before she snapped and completely broke down.

Draegan chuckled. somehow, it was made him even darker than before."You are an interesting one child, the third person to be able to move in my presence, and the third one still alive. You are an interesting one, perhaps I shall not kill you, yet. But beware, I know who you are, and I know where your loved ones live. Take that as a warning, or disregard it completly, either way, I shall enjoy it."
With a flash, Draegan dissapeared, along with all the blood in the house, the aura and the cane.

Edith's anger had fueled her, not just her anger, all of her mixed, flustered, and confused emotions had gone into keeping her standing and helping her to move. She was glad the damned b*****d was gone, and at the same time she was disappointed that she had sucked a**. Apparently her smart-a** ways had actually spared her the wretched fate that the vampire she could only assume was Draegan spared her worthless life. She could not believe her dumb luck, maybe being a smart-a** did get people somewhere. At least it had seemingly saved her life from almost certain destruction.
However, as soon as her enemy was gone, she lost herself, her strength, her will and she crashed to the floor. She was still conscious, only her concern for Kyley keeping her awake. She wanted her Goddaughter to be safe, nothing had better have happened to her... Slowly, gradually, she brought her head up a slight bit and began to pull herself across the floor to the outside of the house. "K-Kyley..."

Edith was glad that Kyley had heard her weak calls and had almost immediately ran into the house afterwards to help her in any way that she could. The vampiress merely smiled, happy that her Godchild was safe and that she had not failed miserably as her objective had been to keep Kyley safe from harm. "Ky-Kyley," she said weakly, hand trembling, bleeding as she reached for her communicating device, "please press that for me."
The young girl did as she was told and pressed the button that Edith had instructed her to push without a word. The button was a tigger for an automatic distress signal that had been inserted into the device. She did not know if it honed them or not so she stood by, or laid by for possible questions from Tokeru.

Edith had completely zonked out, leaving poor Kyley alone by herself, wondering if her Godmother had died or if she was merely sleeping. At four, it always seemed harder for one to detect signs of life. She had panicked for a while, cried even, but when the men in black and navy suits came storming into the house, that was when the terror set in. She tried to flee from them, but one had picked her up and assured her that everything would be alright. The man sounded so much like her daddy whom had left a while ago that she could not possibly tell him no. She allowed the men to take both her and her Godmother into their vans and drive them to some odd place that was really large.
