((Re-cap.))
It had been a month now.
The buildings were set by now, and several new houses had been set up, ready for final inspection. The redux of Lament had been going on quite smoothly, as several structures were placed atop the foundations and utility setups. Of course, when the news came that the main office down in Durem was attacked, with one of the offices near the sixth floor demolished entirely, there was a sense of shock in the camp.
Had anyone been hurt? How much was the damage? Who did this and why?
No one had a real answer, and those that did sure as hell weren't talking. But Mark did attempt to find out exactly what had happened, and he was relieved to hear that the building had been evacuated as soon as the shooting had started.
In any event, they had to keep going. It was all they could do now. Besides, their branch down at Aekea would be a good staging point for the rest of the construction.
Thus, the show continued.

Dawn was busy building a tunnel, it was a very quiet dig, in fact the only people who knew about it at all were the two workers that she had conscripted to build the cover for the floor of the olf warehouse where a lot of the heavy machinery was being stored.. as well as her I-beams, the two elevators and a cement truck that was waiting on the next poor at the RI tower sight.
The pit for the single floor underground for the parking level had already been covered in a nice thick layer of concrete and I-beams, the walls around the sides of the pit were being poured on a daily basis... after all, it would take a lot of work to get the underground level in place and secure before they could begin laying out the rebar supports for the concrete of the ground level and the other four floors of the building.
Dawn did most of her work on the tunnel when the workers were all out at the other sites, or at night, she had set up a little office in the warehouse, mostly as pretense for her being there at all hours of the day. There was no dirt to be carted away, all the earth that she shifted was used to pack the walls and roof of her tunnel, to make the ground above the tunnel as solid as rock itself. Dawn's tunnel needed no supports, although she had ordered a long string on Mine lights to be hung from the ceiling when she was ready to bring in the few workers that she needed...
Sweat ran down her forhead in the utter darkness of the tunnel, she was a good 300 meters already, only another 700 to go and then she would need to make the cavern... that would not be fun at all, even if she was finding this entertaining in a strange way xp

Kanashimi Kurai "Going to go to sssleep on me?" She couldn't blame him if he did, he had been up half the night drinking. Her hands moved up along the spine and the back of his neck. He didn't hear her. He was already asleep. The soothing, relaxing massage, plus already being highly intoxicated, did the job well. He was knocked out.
Kaiser woke up the following morning with a MASSIVE hangover, and he was sprawled out on top of his bed, over the covers. Wiping the drool from his lips, he looked around the room sheepishly, trying to recall the events of last night. Seeing as how he's still alive, it wasn't very likely that he scored, although his back did feel alot better now.
After taking a shower and getting dressed, he gathered his things and then went to Adrienne's room to see if she was up and ready yet, knocking on her door.
"Hey Aid, you up yet?"

Adrienne was up alright, though she didn't hear the knocking or Kaiser due to the fact that she was still showering. The door to her room was unlocked though if he wanted to come in and investigate the lack of response. He'd find the bathroom door closed and the sound of running water coming from within. Her things would be stacked neatly on the floor at the end of her bed. The bed was already made and it appeared as if she was ready to leave the moment she got out of the shower.

For some reason he felt a pang of panic when she didn't answer, and felt he should investigate why. Conveniently, her door was unlocked, so he welcomed himself inside of her room. He heard the shower running, and assumed her to be inside. Taking a quick look around, he found she had already packed and looked ready to go as soon as she stepped out. Maybe he should just wait for her outside, he thought. He wrote her a quick note, leaving it on the dresser, then quietly stepped out of her room.
The note read, "Hung over. Downstairs, getting coffee. ~Kaiser"

Adrienne finished her shower shortly after Kaiser stopped by. She dressed in her warmer clothing, wanting to be prepared for the trip ahead. The only oddity in her new outfit was the dancer's veil/blindfold that she still wore in order to cover her eyes. As she finished dressing, her eyes settled on the note left by her master and she quickly glanced over it before walking out the door.
The serpentine woman made her way downstairs to the bar in search of her master. There were few people and it was not hard to identify Kaiser among them. She steered herself through the tables and chairs to where he was drinking his coffee. "How long before we leave?"

"I'm ready as soon as you are," Kaiser responded, setting his cup down. "Have you checked on our new friend yet? I haven't seen him since last night." Although Kaiser secretly hoped he had gone ahead of them or was oversleeping. He couldn't stand the smell of the bug man. Hopefully he's gotten a shower since.

A few weeks after the attack on Durem, and things had gone unperturbed down in Lament as supplies began coming in from Aekea. The housing renovations down in the Outer City were becoming a quite successful project, and one of the two apartment complexes in the Inner City had been completed. Final inspections were being made as progress rapidly began shifting towardst the second phase of the renovations for the Dark City...
Phase One- 75% complete.
Mark was down at the site for the Raven Industries branch, wanting to see what exactly was happenning. It appeared that progress was moving along nicely, and their architect had indeed been busy-busy. Still, he decided to look for her and see what exactly was going on.
"Can anyone tell me where Dawn Montigo is?"

One man looked away from his cement dowel long enough to tell Mark that Dawn had been by a few hours ago, and she was normally at her office a few blocks away in one of the storage warehouses.
Dawn shivered a bit a sweat rolled down her back, humming a bit in the dead dark of her tunnel. She could feel the rumble of the cement truck above and knew that the hard part was about to begin!

As the cement mixers made their way towards the Raven Industries construction site, Mark discerned that Dawn was somewhere underneath the whole damn thing. Taking the parking garage's improvised elevator, he headed towards her last known location, remembering to take a high-powered flashlight with him.
"Oi, Miss Montigo! You alive down here?" he asked half-jokingly.

"The earth is always Alive..." the answer came echoing back from what appeared to be quite some distance down the tunnel.
Dawn laughed at the cryptic answer, the laughter echoing and rebounding all around her. "Here, just keep coming down Mark.. you can't miss me!" xp

And indeed, he couldn't miss her. She was at the end of a neatly-constructed tunnel, which he suspected was of her making. He had to wonder what was going to be at the end of it, but that question would be answered sooner or later.
"Hey. Um, have you had anything to eat lately? I mean, you gotta be tired down here. If you think you need a break, I know this good place in the city that we could eat at for a bit. You've been doing some good work around the city, and I figure you could use a rest."
He was rather sincere about it. Without her, all of this wouldn't have gotten done. Mark would definitely inform the CEO about this upon his return.

Dawn blinked a bit as if it took her a while to process what he had said. "Oh, food.. ya sure I suppose that I could take a break about now." sweatdrop
She patted the end wall of her tunnel and started back towards the surface.

Soon, they were back above ground, and had headed to a nearby bar in the Inner City. The place did indeed have some good eating, and soon the conversation was sparked. He had wondered what exactly made her so good at what she did, and didn't know the particulars of her.. special abilities.
"So, um... what exactly is a Green Mage anyways? I don't really get around much as far as magic goes, so you might need to explain in layman's terms," Mark said as he scratched the back of his head.

"Hum.. well normally a Green Mage is just someone who uses magic to grow and tend plants.. at least that is what the mages try to teach! Try thinking of them as magically aided horticulturalists..." Dawn sipped at a soda and looked across the table at him.
"Technically I am sort of one step up from that. I don't just use magic to grow plants. I can understand them, and through my power they can kind of understand me... but it is not like you and I talking to each other, it is more like talking to a dog that you have raised from a puppy. Not just a matter of good training but also of understanding the nature of the animal." She chewed at the end of her straw and brushed a few stray strands of hair back behind her ears.
"Now the high level Green Mages can do that as well, what makes me a little different is that I am just as in touch with the earth itself, as the plants. Now this is a little peculiar because most people believe that the earth, rocks and dirt at least, are not living things...and so they shouldn't respond to the power of a green mage. And there is the fact that I don't need spells at all. Normally people who are classified as 'Mages' need spells and rituals to work their magic... but I studied with all mages so when they graduated me they classified me as a mage as well..." xp It was actually interesting trying to explain what she was in layman's terms.. it wasn't something that a lot of employers really wanted to understand
