Cat lowered her leg, which had been cocked back for another kick if one had become necessary, absently sent the cane skittering down the hall with a contemptuous little motion of her foot, muttered something scathing that sounded like "Pathetic," and then walked back over to the copy room, just as casually as if she was just returning from a bathroom break. "Are we done?" she asked calmly on her way over, obviously assuming that the other Cat was listening through the door. If her burned arm was hurting her, it didn't show on her face.

Ult Cat didn't bother to look up at the other woman. Her focus was completely on the enormous lump lying on the hall floor.
"Yeah...they're all done." she half growled.

It had been Fisk. She was in the room doing freaking secretary work when she could have been out here pounding on....oh she needed to hit something now.

Cat noticed the other woman's focus and raised her eyebrows. Her eyes tracked briefly from Fisk's still form, then back to her alternate self, and then widened a little with realization. That was the kind of look... "Oh." She paused, uncertain, then moved past the other woman to gather up the copied files and make sure that everything was in order. "I'm sorry," she continued carefully without turning around. She tried to keep her tone light, but obvious and unwanted sincerity slipped through without her permission. "I would have switched with you if I'd known." She certainly didn't particularly care about Fisk, one way or the other. He was a sanctimonious jerk, sure, but one of many.

She sighed deeply, trying to calm herself down. "It...wouldn't have counted much anyway." she said quietly, turning her attention back inside the room. "It's not my version. He wouldn't have known why it was so personal." she said, slowly moving back into the room to pick up her files. "Suppose these won't give me the gratification I'm wanting them to either. Just trying to ruin a Kingpin. Not my Kingpin."

Back in the hallway, Reaper reformed from one of the shadows in the corner. He tossed two sopping wet bodies onto the floor, then stepped away from them, moving to the copier. His eyes were fixed on his sparking hand, so he didn't see the rather large obstacle right away.
Suppose this made up for it, he though as he watched the sparks dance off his fingertips. It would have been really nice if that sandman and hydroman could bleed. But...they didn't. Couldn't get any powers from them. Oh well. He was feeling spectacular right now. This was the most fun he'd had in a really, really long time. Only thing that would have made this better would be...

Then he kicked it. A large, unconscious blob of a man right in his path. Reaper stared down at him, rather amazed at the size of him. This wasn't one of the men he'd knocked out...did Cat do this? Huh.

He paused a moment, staring down at the man. Then...slowly...let his gaze wander towards the window.

Only thing that would make this better...oh, yes.
Blood splattering against the wall from a bloody mouth was one thing. But a real blood splatter...a good one...called for a lot more. And he loved a good painting.
His gaze fell back onto the giant in front of him. Mmmm...wonder what kind of patterns someone this big would make on the pavement.

Felica didn't have much of anything to say to that; her personal demons were somewhat more vague--less centered around one particular person, anyway. Slipping the copies into her bag with the rest of her stolen loot, she went through a mental checklist, then nodded once, sharply, upon confirming that she'd gotten everything. "Well," she said, her voice smoothly businesslike once again as she walked back to the door, "It's been a pleasure. Very rarely does a girl get to meet someone else who has the same fabulous taste in costumes." She smirked, waved, and then left the room.

... To see Reaper, staring down at the unconscious Fisk with a singularly disturbing glint in his eyes. Cautiously, as though afraid of setting off something by moving too quickly, she moved a little closer to him, her expression carefully neutral. "... I've got your files," she informed him, her voice matching the look on her face to a tee.

Cat's voice was enough to draw Reaper's attention away just long enough for him to realize that she was there. He glanced up at her, then let it fall back onto the man in front of him.

"....files....right." he half mumbled, still staring down at the man.
Alright...come on...he could do this. She said no killing. And dropping a man out the window just to see what he looked like when he hit the ground was...yeah. That would kill him.

...though it might be worth it. She couldn't do much to stop him if he did do it. And he'd been good. Very good considering what he really was.

Something uncertain and almost frightened flickered in her eyes, but her face otherwise stayed completely expressionless she reached into her pouch, pulling out the aforementioned files and extending them. "Here," she told him stiffly. "I think you probably win the game, considering how interested he was in getting these back." She was such an idiot. After all the times she'd teased Spider-man for being so naive... She had promised Reaper that she would tell him when he was getting ready to cross a line. How was she supposed to tell someone like THIS that they were getting ready to cross a line? He wasn't interested in listening; she could see it all over his face. Again, it wasn't like she was particularly fond of Fisk, but that expression... She didn't even want to know what he was thinking about doing.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:04 pm

For a brief moment, he didn't respond, just continued to stare at the body in front of him. His mind clearly elsewhere. Then he finally looked away from Fisk and exhaled deeply. As if he was passing up on something he really, really wanted to do.
He looked at the files, then picked them out of Cat's hands a little shakily. "Okay..." he sighed. "Though I'm pretty sure I got caught before you did."

Damn he needed a drink. Or some poor stray animal. Just...something. Badly.

Cat blinked, and then her face broke out into a surprised and relieved smile. Whatever it was, he had... stopped. It was only at this point that she realized that her heart was beating more quickly than it ever had during the fight with Fisk, and her nerves were fairly buzzing with unspent adrenaline, causing her whole body to tremble slightly. Hoping to hide this, she casually clasped her shaking hands behind her back.

That, in turn, pulled on the badly burned skin of her upper arm, and she had to hide a wince. "Well, then, I guess we can call it a tie," she said decisively. Studying his face with unreadable green eyes, she continued, taking great pains to keep her tone light. "Do you need to make some kind of... pit stop?"
PostPosted: Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:24 pm

Reaper sighed shakily again, his fingers fidgeting with the files in his hands. "Yeah." he replied, attempting to smile a bit. "I really...really do. That's just..." he said, taking a quick glance down at Fisk. "...yeah. Need to make a pit stop somewhere."

She nodded, something about her posture becoming wary again, even though her face stayed calm. "Okay. Do you want me to go with you, or just wait for you here?" If he was going to kill some poor stray animal or drain a homeless person, she wasn't sure that she wanted to be there for it. On the other hand, she didn't want to let him kill any actual people, either.

Suddenly, she blinked. From what she remembered, Osborn ran experiments at his lab-- on animals. Depending on the types of experiments, some of them weren't technically animals when he was done with them; they were grade-A monsters. "... Actually," she continued before he could answer her first question, "I think I just thought of something. Do you know where Oscorp is?" It wasn't a perfect solution, but in her opinion the poor things needed to be put down, anyway.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:41 pm

Reaper shook his head. "No. But if you know where it is, it'll be no problem getting there." he replied, the shadows around the walls dipping towards them and wrapping around their feet.

Cat tensed as she sank into the shadow; if she had really been a cat, her fur would have been standing entirely on end. Her nerves were still buzzing and--GET A GRIP, FELICIA HARDY. Right. Concentrating, she made a mental picture of the building, as well as the experimental facilities as she remembered them.

GOSSAMER

ENTER from Surrounding Areas of Gotham

Gossamer didn’t have time to fool around. She didn’t want to waste time fooling around. So, given what time it was right now, she teleported herself straight inside Fisk’s office. Directly in front of his desk. She arrived standing straight, her arms crossed, and her eyes hard. Her feet were bare; she hadn’t even taken the time to put on shoes or change her clothes before coming here. Her more battle-ready outfit was replaced with long black lounge slacks and a dark purple tank top. Her hair was pulled back as though it was only an afterthought of the previous day and left to fend for it’s self to this point. Her usual makeup was faded, and it didn’t look like she’d fixed it in days or bothered to clean it off.
She was definitely not dressed to discuss business with a previous employer…and she really didn’t give a crap right now. Vice had left her alone for a few minutes, and she wanted to talk to Fisk. Now.

But he wasn’t there. At all. And from the look of his desk, he’d left in a hurry.

Gossamer’s gaze grew harder as she looked around the room. Damn it! He should have been in his office, where the **** could have he gone to? Running on impulse, anxiety, and an extreme lax of patients, Gossamer teleported herself to the closest gathering of people in the building that she could sense. This brought her into a hallway full of employees and…probably personally paid paramedics. They were all tending to and clearing out a nice collection of unconscious super villains.
She stared at them for a moment, and for a second had the urge to scream and kick something. Fisk wasn’t here, his hired help had been taken out…he probably wasn’t anywhere near his office now. Nor would he likely be in the mood to help her look for a child. ”Where. Is. Fisk.” she all but growled.
A few employees exchanged glances, then Gossamer caught one of them briefly looking down the hallway. She took that as a hint and didn’t bother to wait for an answer from any of them. The next moment she was just gone.

When she reappeared, she found herself standing behind more employees and paramedics. Between the mess of them was a large man that had been cut from a large trap of webbing and moved away from it. He was out for the count as well.

Gossamer stared down at the unconscious, web covered man for a long beat. Filled with yet another urge to just…kick something. This was NOT what she wanted. She had planned on getting in here, having Fisk help her whether he liked it or not, and getting back out. There was no way that was happening now. She could cast a spell and wake him up. Heal him, fix up his place so that it’s as good as new. But he wouldn’t even be thinking about helping out anyone right now. His mind would be fixed on finding…whoever did all of this. Probably the only way she was going to be able to get him to help her…as if she offered to bring back the person who wrecked the place up like this. And if she did that, he’d make sure she did her end of the deal first. There wouldn’t be any looking for the Joker in the meantime. Or her Rosie. He’d get to that after he was sure he’d gotten what he wanted.
She didn’t have time to get side-tracked like that. She just didn’t.

…still. With all of Fisk’s resources…he’d be one of the best people to come to if you needed to find someone. She couldn’t afford to not have his help.

Muttering under her breath, she brought both of her hands up and pointed them at Fisk. Wanted to make sure she did this right the first time, and make sure it was quick. After a few quick flashes of gold light from her fingertips, the large man on the ground began to come to. Once Fisk seemed like he had enough sense about him to be able to listen to her, Gossamer walked closer to the large man. She glared at the employees as she came to them, silently letting them know that they needed to leave. Now.
”Mister Fisk. We need to have a talk.”

The employees exchanged glances briefly before looking back at Gossamer. As Fisk regained his bearings, Gossamer looked back at the employees. This time with literal fire in her eyes. ”He’s fine.” she growled. ”Go find something else to do. Now.” The employees began backing away from her. They certainly had no qualifications to handle someone like Gossamer. At the same time…they couldn’t afford to leave their boss if he needed them.
Gossamer was in no mood for them to debate, and she wasn’t going to give them a choice. Noting their hesitation, her scowl grew and she slammed her foot on the floor. And just like that, everyone in the room, save herself and Fisk, were just gone. Moved to the roof.

”This…is not the best time.” Fisk said quietly. Gossamer turned her attention back to the man she had come to see. He was back on his feet and pulling webbing off of his suit, a look on his face that clearly said he didn’t want company either. ”But if you are this anxious to speak with me…then I assume it’s for good reason.”

”I need your help.” Gossamer replied, wanting to get straight to the point. ”And I need it now. I’ll help you catch whoever did this, kill them, toss them at your feet, whatever you want. But I need my problem tended to first. The problem is probably in Gotham, but you’re the only one I know that has the best connections, and the best resources around. I don’t have time to wait.”

”With what was stolen from me, neither do I.” Fisk replied.

”Then I’ll work on your problem while you work on mine.” Gossamer said. ”I don’t have time to wait. Too much time has already passed. I need you to find someone. You give me a name, I’ll give you a name.”

<< ENTER from NYC >>

”Or you could give me both names.” someone said from the corner of the room. Fisk and Gossamer both turned, finding a man with a rather emo-style haircut leaning against the wall with his arms loosely crossed. ”I’m always up for pulling double shifts. And I can definitely get them both done in no time.”

”I doubt you can do anything to help me Gossamer growled.

Before Gossamer could blink again, Kenji was gone. ”You sure about that?” he said, now on the other side of the room. Gossamer turned to look at him, but he was on the other side of her before she fully turned around. ”I’m pretty sure I could catch whoever it is Fisk needs, and find whoever it is you’re looking for before Letterman comes on.” Gossamer’s frown grew as she turned to face him again. But again, he was gone before she had a chance to catch a glimpse of him.

She was not in the mood for this.

Her eyes flashed for a split second, and Kenji appeared in front of her. She wrapped her telekinetic hold around him and kept him in place. Both her fists began to glow, each with a different colored light. ”And I’m pretty sure I can have them begging for death within five seconds. I don’t have time for games or any of this s***. I need to know where the Joker is, and I need to know NOW!” she hissed.

”The Joker?” Kenji asked.

”The same man that came here to pick up your previous pay?” Fisk asked, a small bit of interest in his voice.

Gossamer’s physical display of anger subsided a bit, and she turned her attention over to Fisk. ”Yes. I can’t find him. I need to know where he’s at now.”

”Oh…at the restaurant. You were the woman that was practically wrapped around his arm. If he’s gone, isn’t it just safe to assume the supers caught him?” Kenji asked.

Gossamer frowned. ”No. I think I’d know if that were the case. I think he’s purposefully hiding. I need to find him.”

”Oh? You two have some kind of tiff?” Kenji asked.

Gossamer hesitated. ”We had a bit of a misunderstanding. He’s gone. He has something that belongs to me. I’ll do whatever you want Fisk, but I want him found. It’s already been….too long. I need him found now.”

Kenji paused for a moment in thought. He had something that belonged to her…and she was this desperate to get it back…? ”…hey…didn’t you have a little kid sitting at the table with you?”

The corner of Gossamer’s mouth twitched and she looked away. ”I need him found. Now.” she said quietly.
