As Toph threw her rock-covered fist at her attacker, she was suddenly aware of the change in vibrations from the opposite side of the room where Katara was. However, she couldn't stop and "see" what was going on. She concentrated on keeping Iden at bay, hoping to find some weakness in him that would give her an easy win.

As the monster talked Katara was slowly being tanglend in vines;
"I am the nightmare that has haunted many dreams long ago, I am the spirit of trickery beast's and all things wild, banished from the spirit world am I because of thy moon and mine mother Shalvik [the demon] who had planted the seed of doubt in the moon and water spirit causing the dance of push and pull creating the wave ruining their unity, Shalvik my mother was then destroyed in the moon's blind rage who them turnned her attention to me, in fear of the dangers I would cause in the future she left me bare and alone in this world along with this acursed form by night in her horrid gaze," the monster gave a snarling growl at the thought, "I am the changling, I am the untaimed child, I am known to you humans as, Demona..."
By now Katara might have realized that the roots and vines that held her firmly down had no thorns, vines gave no pressure, and would not constrict. However the only thing that possesed a threat were one or two thorns that lightly pressed against her hands to remind her she could no longer bend.
"As much as I detest Moon Lovers, I will not kill you nor do I plan to." now whispered she, her cold daimond voice held a soft hint of what she was before, a child.

Toph easily lifted a shield of rock from the ground and pushed it towards him before stomping her foot on the ground. The floor behind Iden started to crack and separate to leave a large gap in between.

The monster's pointed ears twitched with attention of its soroundings while it answered, "I detest thy kind so because of thy union and alliance with the moon." she growled, "but have no fear, I will not eat you, Katara of the southern moon pack [water tribe], for you have given a good hunt and have shown superior signs of bravery." once again its harshly cold voice melted slightly, "I am not like the moon, and do not give punishments for nothing, I understand you are trying to collect your friend the Avatar, I will not kill you..."

Demona growled in a low tone that vibrated off of her throat and almost echoed, standing there in thought.
"I woe to say that such a thing can not be done. As much as I would gladly end this in such a simple manner. I have a debt to pay to the new rulers of this teritory, and if my breaking wishes of the ruler is known I would not be able to repay the children of dragons [fire benders] and will then be left with no where to go, and nothing to do. Though do not despair human, I am sure you'll find a way...eventually. After all the odds are greatly against you."
With that the signs of early dawn began to glow through the window.

Toph's brows furrowed as she lost sight of her target. He was obviously in the air somewhere. Angrily, she formed a protective Earth tent around her and lifted some stones from the ground at her feet, ready to use them when the time came.

At the sight of her movment, and the smell of her blood Demona was able to have enough time to fold her massive wolfbat wings infont of her to sheild herself from the full on intensity of the water. However, Demona soon found herself skidding back due to the water pressure, and so she leaned her body weight forward and jabbed her talons into the ground to prevent any further distance to come in between her and her fiesty prey.
Once Demona felt the water pressure softten she swatted what was left of the jet away in a feirce manner by simply opening up her wings. She growled low enough to even make the ground and walls vibrate. She could sense the sun's return coming faster which then gave her the abillity to once again firebend. She blew smoke wrings from her nostrils that were as black as the monster's eyes.
The monster stepped forward quickly and gave quick slashing beats with her wings that sparked and produced fiery strong currents of air. Of course she was no airbender, but the deadly speed and strength of the creatures wings were violent enough to cause such gusty attacks.
